A collision of fire and iceIn the world of the supernatural, there were none more powerful than the Born, pure-blooded vampires, beautiful, wealthy, powerful, and cruel. They were at the top of the food chain for a reason and were governed by only one rule: never turn a witch. But when Greenlawn’s resident magic wielder and pyrokinetic is mortally wounded in a skirmish with vampire hunters, Thane … hunters, Thane Stroud cannot stand back and let her die. The woman had fascinated him since the moment he’d first laid eyes on her and he’d be damned if she’d slip away from him in death before he figured out why.
Margot Elrich had felt like a freak her entire life. After all, shooting flames from the palms of your hands isn’t exactly normal. She’d finally found some peace alongside the supernatural misfits and rogues at Greenlawn Hall and now she had to figure out how to be a vampire too. Bright side? What better way to learn than letting the mouth-wateringly sexy, Thane Stroud tutor her.
As passion erupts between student and teacher, will her fiery touch melt the ice around the cold vampire’s heart or will her burgeoning powers burn them both to ash?

Feisty, fiery and fun! I loved the push and pull between the characters they were absolutely perfect for each other!
This book is action packed with vampire hunters and human scientists looking for test subjects, but it is also a very touching love story. In the earlier Misfits and Rogues book Thane Stroud has come across as aloof and cold but in this book he is much more engaging. I guess finding love changes a man. Margot has always been a misfit and it is nice for her to also find love and more about herself and her talents. I love all the misfits at Greenlawn and I look forward to more in this series.
Chocolates from A Vampire
Kimberly Forrest.
CHOCOLATES FROM A VAMPIRE is the third book in the Misfits & Rogues Series. The books do not include cliffhangers but to really understand the characters you should start with the first book, Tea with Monsters. Better yet, read them all!
I don’t do book reports in my reviews, but I will say that if you love paranormal romance you will love this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Margot and Thane’s story starts out fiery, but they soon turn things around. Lots of suspense to keep a reader in the edge of their seat. I like the twist with Daniel and the info he imparts. Looking forward to the next book.
After reading this book I really have to say I’m enjoying the series. Although I still haven’t read book 1 I have to admit this is my favorite out of all of them. It felt more together and better developed not to mention I love Thane and Margot. OMG I love Margot. She’s hilarious and I love her no-nonsense attitude but we also see her soft more vulnerable side. It sorta ends abruptly but we know more is coming. I love Emma and want her to get a HEA too! I think what I liked about Thane was that he’s a vampire and they are cruel…some can be. He isn’t cruel but can be dark sometimes which balances well with Margot.
The saying “Opposites attract” couldn’t be more true when it comes to Thane and Margot.
From the minute Thane clapped eyes on Margot he knew she was someone special. His very reaction to her was very different than he’s experienced with other women. She’s also unlike any of his normal type of women he goes for.
Margot is used to being a freak. But after the attack on Greenlawn, she’s turned into something even she doesn’t fully understand. She’s also starting to see a new side to Thane than what any of the other residents of Greenlawn have seen.
Chocolates from a Vampire is Thane and Margot’s very unique relationship.
Next book can’t come soon enough.
I can’t wait to see if Emma is truly excited to greet her angel in the hopes that he’ll fix the immortality she doesn’t want, or if she’s seen something in her visions regarding the both of them =)
I love this series. You need to read the series in order, the author updates the reads but it’s not as good as having read the books. Margot and Thane have been mentioned in previous books and now they get their own story!!! And it’s incredible!! Margot gets turned even though it’s forbidden and it’s pretty much a crap show. Now she has to learn to use her magic powers and her vampire powers without killing people!!!
Loved this book!!!!
Talk about opposites attract. Thane and Margot couldn’t be more different. He’s fascinated with her but has no idea why, she thinks he’s a stuck up blood sucker. When she is fatally wounded he simply cannot let her die. Margot is furious with her new condition. Thane sends her chocolates and she starts to be nice, she’s attracted but figures he wants nothing to do with her. Now if they can keep her new identity secret from The Born they might just live.
This was an incredibly cute and funny story. I can’t wait to see what happens with Emma’s angel in the next book.
When Margot is mortally wounded, her friends can only think of one person who can save her. Thane Stroud, a Born vampire. Thane has always felt something for Margot so he can’t allow her to die. They aren’t prepared for what she becomes.
First things first, You have to read this series in order. That being said , MY OH MY!!! I thought Thane was a jerk, pain in the arse, and just plain creepy. BUT SURPRISE, When Margot is attacked and dying, Thane can’t let her die, even knowing she will freaked out that he turns her. But the heat between them isn’t coming from Margot’s powers. This book is kick ass, it has everything from good guys, bad guys, shifters, angels, vampires, The Born and so much more. This is a series that I could read again and again and again. But WAIT,,,,, there is a 4th book coming!!!!!! I can’t wait to get my greedy hands on it. This is a 10 Star book, not 5 , ********** MUST READ BOOK, MUST READ BOOK, MUST READ BOOK.
CHOCOLATES FROM A VAMPIRE is the third book in the Misfits & Rogues Series. This is not intended to be a standalone story. For your best experience, it is recommended that you have at least read the second book in the series, DINNER WITH THE WOLF, or even better read them all!
Thane Stroud has come across as a bogeyman in the previous books – a moniker that would be more apt for his father – his parents being those “things that go bump in the night” according to him. As a businessman, he has had to be stern, determined, and fierce. That has come at a price on his reputation, especially since he is one of the Born – a natural vampire.
Margot Elrich on the other hand is an outcast trying to hide from everyone, not just the bogeyman, because she believes the worst of herself.
Learning more about themselves and each other, learning more about their friends, and the world they are navigating together, falling in love, and finding that person that allows them to be whole. That’s what their story is all about and it is a beautiful thing while the reader is being lead through a merry chase of suspense, betrayal, and happy-for-now.
Final word, we already have a title for the next book: BRUNCH WITH AN ANGEL. Yes, you do meet him in this book. In fact, he is important to the story. Get ready to fall in love with him before he is reunited with Emmaline!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Chocolates from a Vampire by Kimberly Forrest is the third book in the Misfits & Rogues series. In this book, a wedding ceremony is attacked by armed men and a witch named Margot Elrich is staked in the back and is dying. Born vampire Thane Stroud refuses to let Margot die so he changes her into a vampire which saves her life. This is the beginning of their exciting, adventurous, and sexy relationship. I loved this book for its unique characters and the way the relationship between Margot and Thane develops. These characters made me laugh and their love scenes were sensual as well as sweet. This is definitely a 5++ star paranormal romance that you will love reading. Chocolates from a Vampire is a tasty paranormal romance.
This is book three in the Misfits and Rogues Series and is centered on Margot, a witch and Vampire with pyrokinetic talents, and Thane, a Born (vampire.) Thane changed Margot into a vampire to save her life, but he went against vampire laws to do it. The story throughout this series is unique, fun, and deadly serious with some really strong, quirky, and memorable characters. Great read!

Thane and Margot’s story was intense! The prime and proper Thane and the ripped jeans cargo boots messy Margot are as different as day and night —yet sprks fly when they are together ! Literally! If you have not read the first 2 books in this series you can read this one as a stand alone but you will be missing out on a lot. I suggest you read the other books first. This story keeps the pages turning. From Margot learning how control her inner demon to letting love be the driving force that ties it all together. Her attitude brings a different vibe to Thane’s house and to him personally. The surprise she has for him later in the book is so sweet. This story is so good. I so recommend this series ! And the next book Brunch with an Angel !! So excited !
This book is so much better then I was expecting., It is well written and the characters were great. I loved Thane and honestly wanted to pull him from the page and keep him.
