I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, small town, chronic illness romance. Two characters getting over hurts from the past and working towards a future. The characters were amazing, as was the town and all of its shops.

Kerri Manning returns home because of a medical issue. Kerri’s boyfriend doesn’t want a broken girlfriend so he broke up with her. Being at home allows Kerri to get help from her family and friends. Eric Hunt has become disillusioned as an acclaimed artist in New York City. Looking for someplace to go for inspiration he finds Eureka Springs, Arkansas and travels there to see if he can find his love for his art again. Eric finds his muse in Kerri but she is so discouraged by her medical issue she won’t accept that she likes Eric as much as he likes her. Finding there way is the basis of this story and it is a really beautiful romance with a happy ending.

Eric is looking for a place to rest and find his inspiration again. Carrie is back home trying to adjust to her new life and her disease. Can they both find themselves and trust again in their hearts? good audiobook
I like a small town setting and appreciated that the story was clean. There were some possible turns the story could easily have taken (think things like Hallmark movie plots where the ex shows up wanting a relationship) but it didn’t and I was glad. It was however, very much like a Hallmark movie. Some of the dialog was too cheesy for me. And I didn’t find the argument between Eric and Kerri believable. He turned with such venom and up to that point had been such a gentleman that I just didn’t think he would be so horrible in a matter of moments. I expected him to misunderstand and maybe be angry but not to spew meanness. I get that he was supposed to be reacting based on his prior experience but it was just too much. The Eric I pictured wouldn’t have turned like that and it made me not like him. But I did love his explanation of what the sculpture meant.
I thought the author using a condition like RA for the heroine was a unique choice. I haven’t seen that before. I felt bad for Kerri. Chronic pain is no fun.

What a sweet story!
It stinks that both young people had their previous relationships break their trust.
His first instinct is to believe the girl working some angle to take advantage of him.
Hers is to assume he’ll abandon her once he learns of her illness.
I loved seeing that her local friends all have her back… if she’ll let them.
I started this series backwards, I started with book three and worked back to book one. I really enjoyed the story it flowed well and portrayed everyday things. The narrator I was not too impressed with, I have listened to other books this particular narrator has done and I am still not taken with her. I probably would have enjoyed the book more if I had read it. I did enjoy the book itself just not the narrator.

A super sweet romance read/listen. Clean and sweet, this is an overall heartwarming read/listen. Both of our main characters have recently been hurt by past relationships and are more than shy when the spark of chemistry is instantly ignited between them. Can they over come past hurts and current insecurities to find their love?
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
Chocolate Kisses was sweet from the title to the characters and the story. It was interesting that Kerri, the main character has rheumatic arthritis. I never realized how painful that can be. I admired her strength and perseverance in spite of her daily pain. It was really interesting to see how much it affected her life.
Eric was a breath of fresh air for Kerri. I really liked his character and how Kerri became his muse for sculpting. I also fell in love with the town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and I cannot wait to read more romance books by River Ford because she truly brings the characters to life. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very easy to relate to the characters. Being someone with an autoimmune disease, the feelings and thoughts of the characters were on point. This is a book I would recommend to people who wonder what it is like to be in my shoes. A great depiction of real life!

The book was short, but very moving. I felt I have a lot in common with the main character (not RA for me, my pain is caused by something else, although I did have a roommate in college who had it). Constant pain that exhausts and wears you down to the point where you have to completely re-examine what your dreams really are or should be. It was a great read.

This was a clean lil romance that I really enjoyed. I could not put it down. I ended up reading it all in one sitting. Kerri and Eric are so perfect for each other. Both had been hurt in the past and are not looking for love in their future. Emotions flair up quickly for both these characters. They each have their own secrets….hearts that need healing.
Written as a multi pov in 3rd person. I consider this a HFN ending. Nice story line, good characters, easy to visualize description to details, and engaging dialogue. All in all, a nice read.
