Sweet shop owner turned amateur sleuth in a cozy seaside town full of mystery and murder. It is the start of a new venture for Margaret and her son, Zach, setting up their dream candy store, Nichol’s Candy Store. With the business owners around her, there is never a dull moment – from Stacy Koontz the café owner, Mr. Stewart, the dog-groomer who needs a new personality, and Simone Peretti, who is … Simone Peretti, who is as eccentric as the antiques she sells.
It was nothing Margaret couldn’t handle, until their neighbor, Dorothy, was found murdered. A woman who was hated by everyone – making the entire neighborhood a suspect. On top of that long list is the new resident, Kyle, who’s kind-hearted beneath a gruff around the gills hard coating. Wanting justice for Dorothy and Kyle, Margaret decides to investigate this mystery herself. With an attractive detective by her side, it’ll lead to more connections than she ever anticipated.
Is she sweet enough to solve this sour blooded mystery
Previously published as Gumballs and Murder. This version has been rewritten.

YES!!!!!!!! VETERANS!
BOO not Sisters!!!!! Sorry Female veteran here.
Quick synopsis: Mom and son move to new town, open candy store that all love, neighbors appear to be good expect when one gets murdered. Find out not what appeared to be. Who did it?
Love that she tries to help another learn to grow as she has to do.
Questions I have: Does one veteran have possible PTSD? What about the other two veterans, what is their story? Son and what he will do? What happened in past that she moved? Possible romantic interest(s)?
I have one baby issue. The joke of the cost being a nickel is very old and hopefully will not be in the rest of the series. Just my personal pet peeve.
If love or like this author, then you will definitely love this new series. If new to this author, then go ahead and read, I promise you will not be disappointed. Great introduction to cozy mysteries too. Fast, easy to read and done before you know it is over. I read it in a day.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
This was a nice, quick, easy read. Margaret and her son Zach needed a new start. She decides too be close to her hometown and open a candy store. She buys a cute little house in a nice neighborhood. She didn’t know about the turmoil her neighbor had going on until a murder happens. She felt compelled to figure out what happened.
Good start to a new series.
I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion.
Small town life is mostly sweet for new Candy Shop owner Margaret Nichols and her son Zack – unless her neighborhood gets lethal.
When too many people have motive for the death of an unpopular townsperson, Margaret accidentally finds herself tugged into the flow of events
With detective David thrown into the mix, this new Candy Shop is quite an adventure of a fresh start for Margaret and Zack
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
