A close shave for Sabrina in this book.
If everyone loved her, why is she dead?
It seems like everyone is getting married and soon it will be Sabrina and David. She is already searching for a wedding planner but just when she finds the perfect one a new case interrupts her plans. Sabrina and her detective fiancée need to solve this case in a hurry so she can get back to her wedding plans.
Meredith Potts has a talent for writing cozy mysteries. There is always a good mix of murder and regular small-town life that makes for an enjoyable storyline. I give this book a thumbs up!
There were several happy couple moments in this story, as well as some romantic moments between Sabrina and David. While all this happiness was going on, more murder came to town. I did not see it coming, which pleased me, because it meant it challenged me as an amateur sleuth. I enjoyed the story and Lisa Beacom’s narration once again. This series is worth the listen or read.

CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH A SIDE OF MURDER is the ninth book in the Daley Buzz Cozy Mysteries series. While each could stand on their own, I recommend reading them all and in the order of release.
Like dessert, there always seems to be room for another Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery. They are short and sweet, fun for the whole family, and hold a charm all their own.
Of course, my favorite character is Sabrina’s Grandma. That woman can get me to smile on my worst days. I want to grow up to be her.
Narration: Lisa Beacom continues to grow as a narrator and delivers another wonderful performance as Sabrina Daley. She also presents the many other voices with confidence and skill.

Murder strikes Treasure Cove twice! First the talented wedding planner, then her husband. Lots of hard work by the underfunded police detective and his fiancé the chocoholic amateur sleuth who helps run the Daley Buzz coffee shop. I love this series, but the only problem with starting with a later book is that the reader just really wants to read more of them!
I have the audio performed by Lisa Beacom who always makes character distinctions very clear.

This series is just so much fun. Book after book, we get to see a lot of the same characters and see another murder solved in Treasure Cove. This time, Sabrina and David are off to solve the murder of Valerie Olson. Valerie is a wedding planner that Sabrina was going to use for her wedding, so this is one near and dear to her. Of course, the husband is the first suspect, but when things go awry, other suspects come to light. I also really loved the lottery backstory! Sabrina’s mom and grandmother are always a hoot and make me smile. Another great, quick listen, narrated by Lisa Beacom and will make you look for a slice of chocolate cake when you are finished!
