A Chocolate-Box Christmas
This short and sweet romance is a #1 Amazon Bestseller.
Love is sweeter with a touch of mischief.
Judging a chocolate-making competition for the women’s shelter’s annual fundraiser should be an easy, even pleasurable, assignment for Maise, new food critic for the Bloomingfield Daily Dispatch. Too bad just the smell of chocolate makes her stomach roil.
By the time she reaches the last table, she hopes her face isn’t as green as her holiday sweater. But the tall, square-jawed man behind piles of fudge makes her want to linger, even savor the moment along with his chocolate-coffee-flavored confection.
Except there’s something Ben Elliot is hiding behind his piercing blue eyes and lazy grin, and her reporter’s nose senses a story worth exploring. She finds herself longing to discover the secret ingredient sweetening their mutual attraction.
A Chocolate-Box New Years
This holiday story is a top 100 Amazon bestseller in clean and wholesome and holiday fiction romance.
Some recipes don’t turn out quite as you predicted…
The extra time and expense of Julie Elliot’s old-school cooking methods are worth it, but that means The Pasta Junction’s bottom line is often stretched thin—much like herself. Even during the holidays, the restaurant’s busiest season.
When she carves out time in her brutal schedule to meet with Bloomingfield weatherman Lorenzo Rossi, she crushes her reaction to the tall, blue-eyed charmer quicker and harder than a clove of roasted garlic. Lorenzo may be sweet as Italian cassata and hot as a red pepper, but planning an anniversary dinner means married, and she needs another disaster like that like she needs another olive oil stain on her shirt.
But as she and Lorenzo assemble the ingredients for a perfect celebration, she discovers something completely unexpected. And her heart may not withstand the storm of emotion she never saw coming.
A Chocolate-Box Valentine
A short and sweet romance for a quick, quick read.
It’s your last love who truly matters.
Owning a candy store should be a fun and delightful profession. Besides, what candy could beat Sally’s Elliot’s signature coffee chocolate fudge?
None, except for the unique infusion candy she designed for Valentine’s Day.
Unfortunately, the signature chocolate required for the candy won’t be delivered on time. No problem. She’ll pick up the order herself. When she reaches the diner where the delivery man is stranded, she retrieves the chocolate and intends to return to her shop. But a downed tree detains her. And the handsome, kind man who owns the diner makes her want to stay, especially after she accepts his challenge to prepare homemade delectable chocolates with him. There’s something about Oliver Menroe’s gentle mannerisms, his genuine interest in his customers, that ignites a hope Sally had extinguished long ago. As a disillusioned single mother, she knows from experience that love doesn’t last forever. But can she allow herself to believe that one simple ingredient can sweeten their mutual attraction and … for the first time in her life … create a lasting love?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A Chocolate-Box Christmas is a short sweet romance that left me wanting more. I thought it was funny that Maisy can’t stand chocolate and is asked to judge a chocolate contest. Some of the chocolates would have upset my stomach too, but I love mocha and Ben’s chocolate sounded yummy. I liked the fudge recipe at the end.
A Chocolate-Box New Years had me at fresh homemade pasta. Julie is right and the dry kind just doesn’t compare. I don’t have it very often, but I love it when the restaurant I’m eating at offers it. Julie and Lorenzo had a whirlwind romance with misunderstandings, which started when she thought he was married and hitting on her. I loved reading about all the wonderful food she made. I’ve never had cassata, but is sounds yummy. I liked that they bonded over their love of film noir, something else that I’ve never truly experienced. There were plenty of funny, romantic, and sweet moments in this clean holiday food filled romance.
In A Chocolate-Box Valentine, Sally and Oliver were both divorced and running their own businesses. I loved that he enjoyed making people happy with food and giving back. Sally was so focused on her business and trying to keep up with her success by promoting a new infusion chocolate that she forgot about what makes her happy. This was a short and sweet second chance at love romance with an instant love feel.
I love this set! I first read Chocolate-Box Valentine and instantly became a a Josie Riviera fan. Now after reading Chocolate-Box Hearts Set I’m reminded why I love her books. These little novellas are solid stories packed with heart. I recommend each one on their own or as a set. I also recommended each as an audiobook as well. If you love a sweet romance that leaves you with that feel good feeling then these are for you!
This is a fun and entertaining collection of 3 stories. I enjoyed reading them because they involve chocolate and holidays. I love how all the characters can interconnect in each story and you can still read them as stand alone if you like. They are clean reads with some nice romance.
A sweet collection
A Chocolate Box Christmas
I can totally understand Maise’s dislike of chocolate, but I’m not a food critic judging a chocolate contest. Ben is covering for his sister who is the chocolatier for the candy shop they co-own. When she shows up at the candy shop on Christmas Eve a new romance is born. This was a sweet story with a recipe for Chocolate Coffee Fudge included.
A Chocolate Box New Year’s
This is a short fun read. Workaholic Julie and TV weatherman, Lorenzo, meet when he calls to arrange a one-year anniversary party at her Italian restaurant. They are proof that opposites attract.
A Chocolate Box Valentine’s
A short fun read, but with great characters. Sally doesn’t know it but she needs Oliver. I enjoyed this book.
A Chocolate Box – New Years
Lorenzo Rossi is a handsome meteorologist at the local television station who wants to throw a surprise first wedding anniversary dinner party at Julie Elliot’s Italian restaurant, The Pasta Junction. The coup-de-grace will be an Italian cassata made using his grandmother’s recipe. It has to be perfect and Julie will need to bake it as many times as needed to get it right.
Julie Elliot is a workaholic but she has to be to make her restaurant a continuing success. She has no time for men. The one time she gave her heart, she was betrayed. Julie does not normally meet with new customers since most reservations are made online but Mr. Rossi is insistent. He is very charming but she cannot believe it when he starts flirting with her. What sort of man would flirt while he was arranging a party for his first anniversary?
This is a beautiful, clean romance with well-developed characters and a good storyline. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary. It’s a quick, easy read and, although it is part of a series, it can be read standalone.
A Chocolate-Box Valentine
I love clean, wholesome second chance romance stories. If they are set in a small town…even better! This story has all the elements I like. A Chocolate-Box Valentine is one of those stories that leave you feeling good and wanting more stories set in this small town with these friendly, caring people.
This is the first time I have read anything by Ms. Riviera, but it definitely won’t be the last.
I received an ARC of this novella in exchange for my honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.
I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the set.
Three sweet stories full of romance, fun, drama and family interactions. Love happens when you least expect it.
Sweet, chocolatey romances.
Christmas:
A very sweet and short (2 chapters) romance. For being so short I thought that it couldn’t possibly turn out as so many stars, but it was perfectly done. I was very pleasantly surprised.
New Years:
A sweet, Italian holiday romance. Lots of pasta and restauranting, weather and stars. I liked these characters and all of their sweet moments and the time spent together. The misunderstandings and the joy. It was really nice.
Valentine:
A quick and sweet Valentine’s romance with a heavy chocolate emphasis. There were a lot of characters for such a short book and I was impressed at the time and depth given to each.
I received some of these as free copies and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Chocolate-Box Hearts by Josie Riviera
….
A Chocolate-Box Valentine (Chocolate-Box #3)
by Josie Riviera
This book starts out with praise for the author and her wks.
This short story starts with Sally and her special chocolate won’t be arriving for her to prepare it into special Valentine orders.
Her brother Ben and his fiancee will watch Sally’s daughter Clarissa so she can head down the road to get the chocolate.
The truck driver had some problems with his truck. After Sally arrives a big tree crosses her route back home so she spends time at the diner.
Oliver has made everyone so welcome and she gets to talk to him and learns of his past as he learns of hers.
She decides she needs advice from others not familiar with her wares…
Like how different folks lives are discussed from all walks of life… so interesting.
Recipe included. Ends with an excerpt from the author’s next book.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
A Chocolate-Box New Years (Chocolate-Box #2) by Josie Riviera
This story starts out with praise for the authors’ works.
Story starts with Julie and she not only runs the restaurant but owns it and works nonstop.
Love that her siblings live nearby and are very supportive. She feels migraines coming on often as she is doing too much, doesn’t count on others to do her work.
Story also follow Lorenzo and he’s a Italian local weatherman and others jest he hardly gets the forecast right. He wants her to take charge of the wedding anniversary dinner at her place.
She assumes it’s for he and his wife but learns otherwise later…He wants his grandmother’s recipe and she tries it with his being the taste tester and she just can’t get it right-the recipe was very vague.
Her sister-from the chocolate shop tell her it’s so he can spend time with her-he compliments her often.
Love hearing of the authentic way to make pasta and that she donates the leftovers.
Like the things they find in common after spending a lot of hours taste testing the recipe-he wants it perfect for the dinner.
With so much in common they can’t find ground to stand on where one is off balance and you wonder if they will ever get together.
Family recipe shared.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
..
The Chocolate Box Christmas by Josie Riviera
This short story is about Maise who’s relocated from Alaska to CA and she’s taken a job being a food/writer reporter.
On this assignment she must judge the chocolate contest at a nearby shelter. She knows many of the contestants as she’s been around town.
She is able to meet Ben and she discovers his secret as to why he is there. He also finds out why she doesn’t really want to be a judge, especially with anything to do with chocolate.
Fun Christmas read, enjoyed it.
Book ends with a note from the author, recipes, and about the author, other works by the author in series format but all can be read as stand alone.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
I read each of the novellas included in this set as they were released. They are easy to read and I encourage anyone who enjoys a clean holiday romance to purchase the three book series. My individual reviews are below:
A CHOCOLATE-BOX CHRISTMAS
This is a delectable beginning to Josie Riviera’s Chocolate-Box Series. After all, it contains two primary ingredients that are a winning combination for many women: chocolate and romance.
It all begins when food critic Maise Anderson is asked to serve as a judge for a local chocolate competition. It isn’t something she is excited about doing but is part of her job for the local newspaper. Here she meets entrant Ben Elliot, the co-owner of a candy shop.
Ms. Riviera packs plenty of flavor into A Chocolate-Box Christmas. We get to know enough about both Maise and Ben within the confines of this short story to make them feel like real people. It is well written and even includes a recipe for Chocolate Coffee Fudge.
Even if you don’t have a lot of spare time, pick up a copy of this book. It takes less than 30 minutes to read and might just help get you into the Christmas spirit.
A CHOCOLATE-BOX NEW YEARS
Warning: I think I gained 5 pounds just reading this book!
Josie Riviera has once again delivered a sweet romance for her readers. Both the budding romance between restaurant owner Julie Elliot and local meteorologist Lorenzo Rossi and the delicious Italian food descriptions kept me quickly turning pages. It’s fun to read how a quest to bake the perfect cassata (Italian cheesecake) for an anniversary dinner serves to help romance blossom. And yes, this particular recipe calls for lots of chocolate.
This is a relatively short book, but we learn a lot about our main characters within the confines of the story. There is Julie’s reluctance to follow through on her initial attraction to the very attractive Lorenzo. There is no question that Lorenzo is interested in Julie. Of course, this is a romance, so it is no surprise that she eventually succumbs to his charms.
A Chocolate-Box New Years is longer than the first book in the series but is still quick and easy to read. Although it is the second book in a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.
I had already pre-ordered a copy when the opportunity to read an advance copy was offered. Since I had the time to read it right way, I didn’t think twice about accepting the chance and am glad I did. There was no requirement to write a positive review and I am already looking forward to the third book.
A CHOCOLATE-BOX VALENTINE
A Chocolate-Box Valentine is a sweet addition to author Josie Riviera’s chocolate-box series. In this novella, chocolate plays a role in the romance – but probably not in quite the way you might expect.
Keep in mind that this is a novella, so things move along a lot faster than you would expect in real life. Even within the confines of this short book, the author is still able to bring her characters to life. I loved the way she was able to bring an immediate connection between Sally and Oliver because they both owned food establishments. A fallen tree serves as the perfect mechanism to provide a reason for them to spend time together.
Extend your Valentine’s Day by an hour or two and curl up someplace comfy and cozy to read this delightful story.
I accepted an advance copy from the author although I had already pre-ordered this book. The chance to read it early was too good to pass up! No promise was made of a positive review and any opinion expressed here is my own.
