London, 1813Jack, Marquess of Ettington, is at his wits’ end dealing with his twin sister’s distress. Under her name, he’s summoned Constance Grange, his vexing former ward, to London to act as his sister’s companion for the season. Although Pixie’s debt-ridden state comes as a complete surprise, what disturbs him more is his sister’s plan to find her a wealthy husband to pay off her overwhelming … overwhelming debts. And—despite his availability, wealth and title—he’s shocked to be overlooked for the position of Pixie’s husband.
With a nickname like Pixie, Constance Grange should be used to disasters, but debt collectors pounding on the Marquess of Ettington’s door demanding payment is beyond mortifying. Given the precarious state of her finances and the previously unknown loss of her family estate, her choices are either incarceration in debtors’ prison or turning fortune hunter to secure a wealthy husband. Yet the man who comes to her rescue more times than she cares to think about is unavailable, betrothed, and her former guardian Jack—the cold-hearted marquess.

Very good book, easy to read and incredibly interesting
I thought this was a good book. I enjoyed it and it flowed well. There were times I stayed up too late reading because it had captured my attention. I didn’t love how it turned into a lot of sex at the end. She still did good with the story I just skipped over some of the sex.
Loved it
What a great story! Read this fantastic book and remember what love is all about.
Loved the characters the Marquess and his sister Virginia work well together with the twin connection ( even though that is technically between identical twins) and his desire to help her heal from a brutal ex-husband. Hallam is an unlikely rescuer for Virginia. The primary plot involves involves Constance who has come to stay with Virginia and has been the ward of the Marquess until recently. Now, Constance aka Pixie, must find a wealthy husband to cover her mother’s gambling debts. While the plot has a few holes in it and the story seems overly long in places overall this is an enjoyable read. The dialog is witty and the characters likable.
Love the story of Jack and Constance how they came together and fell in love.
How many different ways can she misunderstand intentions? Normally this would drive me demented, but this time it was just so funny. Really enjoyable story, characters, and endings.
a good beach book
Was a wonderful book! Now I need the rest of the series!
Loved this book
excellent read
Great read!
This book was fantastic. Couldn’t put it down. Great ending
Kept me interested through the entire book.
I liked this book, but the main character had a nickname that was no where close to the real name, and the author would switch from one to the other during the narrative. I would sometimes think there was another character, when starting the book. Very distracting. Otherwise, a good read.
Took to long to get to the point. Repetitive
Always enjoy books by Heather Boyd
I enjoyed Jack and Constance the main characters in this story. Ms. Boyd has written a romantic and steamy book. I look forward to reading more of her books.
It is good to read.
In addition to the main character plot line, there were other sub-plots that kept it interesting.
