Kinton joins a Search and Rescue (SAR) team to find the plane and Besand before he gets away for good. The team not only experience the cleverness of the killer, but has to deal with rushing rivers, an avalanche caused by a jealous ex-boyfriend and his brother and other delightful characters who look out for the well-being of Brynn Nealey, a beautiful woman that gets caught in the sadistic cross-fire of Kinton and Besand.
A 4-star for me as the attraction between the two main characters developed way too slow for me. I thought this novel was more a suspense as it had too little romance until close to the very end. As this is the second novel in this series, I’ve noticed that there is a age difference in the main characters just as I experienced in another series by Elliot. Hmm will have to ask about that as I am becoming to like reading her novels.
THIS REVIEW IS FOR BOTH THE AUDIOBOOK AND EBOOK VERSIONS
Great story, action packed and the plot was very intriguing. The narrator done a spectacular job with this book. I really enjoy and recommend this book.
A plane has crashed in the Cascade mountains in the middle of winter and search and rescue is being sent in and Alex shows up to join the crew. He tells them he is a U.S. Marshall when in fact he has not been a Marshall for a while but he knows who is on the plane that went down and the prisoner aboard needs to be found and he wants to be there when he is found. This one was filled with twists and turns and thrills and even a slight romance at the end that was not really needed to be part of the story. Definitely a good story though.
Can be borrowed as ebook + audio via KU. I’m a big fan of Emily Sutton-Smith as a narrator so I opted to buy. This is one of those books that’s less expensive to buy the ebook & add-on the audio ($6.98 for both at the time of this review). This has some romance, but leans more toward Suspense/Mystery end of the spectrum.
3 stars for the story. Honestly, I doubt I would have bought this one on it’s own merit (given the option to listen for free via KU).
Alex (a secondary character in the previous novel) is an ex-US Marshal on the hunt for a serial killer that was on board a transport plane that crashed. (Kinda sounds like “The Fugitive” ~ but there’s no similarities). Alex joins a local SAR (Search and Rescue) team as they trek into the snow covered mountains to locate the plane crash. Brynn, a forensic nurse, is also part of the team. Sparks fly, adventures are had.
There are only a few “mysteries” & they are predictable, but the action was decent. I’m not a fan of insta-love ~ but Alex & Brynn are likable characters and I‘m happy that they get an HEA. The love scene at the end felt perfunctory in its detail. I am NOT a prude by any means, it just seemed out of place in the rest of the story.
Overall, this was just an OK listen.
Another great book in this series!
I liked the characters and was hard to put down. Only I wish she wouldn’t use the F___ word.
Great series. In my favorite author list
