Imagined with the humor and understanding that are hallmarks of Maeve Binchy’s storytelling, the world of Chestnut Street captivates us with its joys and sorrows.
Maguire, the window cleaner, must do more than he bargained for in order to protect his son. Nessa Byrne’s aunt visits from America every summer, turning Nessa’s house—and world—upside down. Lilian, a generous girl with a big heart, has a fiancé whom no one approves of. Melly’s gossipy ways help Madame Magic, a self-styled fortune-teller, get everyone on the right track. And Dolly, an awkward young girl, discovers more about her perfect mother than she ever wanted to know.

I have enjoyed this author for years. It is sad she no longer with us.
I loved it, as I’ve loved all of her books. Such wonderful characters, I think about them long after I’ve finished the book.
Love this author and everything she writes!
Loved every bit of it. Maeve Binchy weaves the lives of many people together as few author I’ve read can. Highly recommend.
Normally, I love this author’s books, but for some reason this one didn’t do anything for me
Loved the character development that centered around Chestnut Street.
Maeve Binchy is one of my favorite artists. Her ability to create marvelous characters makes all of her books delightful!
The characters and each story was captivating but ended so soon that it was unsettling. I kept wanting to hear more about each one. Hard for me to keep changing setting and situations.
Not one of my favorites.
So many words can describe Maeve Binchy. She was and always will be one of my absolute favorite authors. Her stories and characters are realistic, I can imagine any of them being my next door neighbor, or even me! You might think you know where these stories are going, but you don’t! There is always a surprise! Laughter, tears, and heart-warming themes as she takes real life situations and makes them easy to read, but in a way only Maeve could to. I love you, Maeve Binchy! Always will!

Love everything she writes
Love everything about her books.
Maeve Binchy is always great!
I loose a lot of sleep because of Mave Binchy! Her characters and stories always leave you wanting more. Any of her books is a win
Maeve Binchy is the best author at quiet characters that are so well fleshed out and understable. No other writer that I have found has such a masterful touch for storyline and depth of characters.
