Fake It Until You Make It…..I Guess It’s Easier Said than Done. Gayle Nash was my one-way ticket to a career.I can’t believe I had never thought of it sooner. With him by my side, I’d have all the advantages to help me succeed as a sports journalist. And maybe some people won’t like that I slept my way to the top.But let’s get one thing straight here: I only slept with the major league baseball … let’s get one thing straight here: I only slept with the major league baseball player after he gave me the ring.
Was it amazing? Yes.
Did I wish it meant something more than it did? Also yes.
Because while this engagement of ours might be fake, my feeling for him weren’t.
But how was I supposed to tell him as much when there was another girl in the picture?
And that girl wasn’t me.
So, what am I supposed to do when I want to transform a fake engagement into a real one?
And would Gayle ever see me as more than the girl next door?
* No cliff-hanger, No cheating and Guaranteed HEA (Happily ever after). This is a stand-Alone in the Cherishing His Love Series**

The concept of the book is a good one. But I like books with more store about the characters. To me the book was like reading a first draft. To me it doesn’t give the characters a good voice. This is just my opinion.

I loved this book
Lily, a struggling journalist, has lived next to Gayle, a major league baseball player, most all her life. As the story progresses a plan is formed, unknown danger lurks, and a shocking twist could either derail everything or give them both their heart’s desire. Alexa McLean has created an intimate and engaging read that is more like sitting down with friends than reading about a fictional situation. I loved this book.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
A great story with very interesting characters. And even though you think you might know that it will be a happy ending it&s still worth the the time to read.

Great story including a homerun….really. The characters are great. I liked them from the start I couldn’t wait to see how the author would lead us through their lives.
While it may be a friends to lovers story it is very well written and held my interest up to the very end. And I’ll be honest, I was sorry when I got to the end of the story. I wanted more! Always the sign of a great book!
Lily just inherited her grandmother’s home but didn’t have much money or a job. What she had was a journalist degree. Her neighbour and best friend Gayle is a professional baseball player and happens to love Lily. So when she comes up with the scheme to pretend they are engaged, he jumps at the chance. What happens next, well you have to read it yourself.
This is a wonderfully written contemporary romance about two people who were trying to suppress their feelings in order to keep their long time friendship intact. It is tender, romantic, hot and steamy, and filled with love. I loved how the author developed the amazing characters and wove their story in amongst the internal barriers and external obstacles they were faced with. I loved this book, it touched me emotionally and made me uplifted. If you enjoy this genre, I can highly recommend this book.

Oh, Alexandria McLean has just produced gold with the creation of Cherishing His Fake Fiancee. So many misunderstandings & misconceptions. Not to worry though because there IS a much deserved happily ever after for these two. I do try very hard never to give away any part of the plot, so that I do not ruin it for reader’s. That being said, here it goes..
Ms. McLean’s newest romance, centers around a couple, that were friends first although they both have secreted feelings for each other. Gayle, an impressive Athlete (baseball), and Lily (neighbor), have perfected their friendship, but when Lily gets an idea in her head, he’d do anything to help her. Fake Fiancee? No problem… anything for her, HOWEVER, both of these two wish it was for real. After losing her Grandmother, Lily needs a job fast and has come up the perfect plan… all she needs is Gayle. Can/will he help her? Can they keep their feelings hidden? Or will they lose everything, before it can begin, due to a huge lack in communication?
I voluntarily requested an advanced reader’s copy of Cherishing His Fake Fiancee, in exchange for my honest opinion and I couldn’t recommend it more. Another Impressive Release From Ms. McLean.
Congratulations.
Sweet
Lily and Gayle have known each other since childhood. They’ve loved each other just as long. Lily is in desperate need of a job. When she comes up with the idea to pretend to be Gayle’s pretend fiancé so that she’d be noticed and possibly get a writing job, he reluctantly agrees. What they don’t know is that there are those that aren’t happy about their engagement.
This fun, flirty friends-to-lovers tale was thoroughly enjoyable. MLB hottie Gayle and Lily had been friends and neighbors for years. Not wanting to spoil what they had together, they had never broached the subject of their mutual stronger feelings. When Lily needed to break into sports journalism, she asked Gayle a special favor – for them to get fake engaged which would help her get her foot in the door. Of course he was willing and the fake engagement was on.
Of course, when the heart gets involved, logic and fake may have been in place originally but the heart wants what the heart wants. Twists and turns show up along with giggles, drama a tear or two and some major tenderness. I read it cover to cover ~ couldn’t put it down and you won’t want to either! 5 Stars

While I enjoyed the characters and most of the plot, I was left with many unanswered questions. I will not write spoilers of any kind but I would have fleshed out certain parts.
Good vacation book. 18+.

Gayle and Lily are best friends and next door neighbors. They both love each other but are afraid to lose what they have to pursue more than just friendship. Lily comes up with a scheme to have Gayle post as her fake fiance to help her further her career and Gayle jumps at the chance hoping that he can make it more than just fake. The book was well written and the author really built up the characters and their relationship well. There’s a bit of a mystery in the story and a HEA. I wish there was one more epilogue chapter to really pull everything together.

What would you do instead of telling them that you loved them?
Embark on a mad capped caper that allows you to pretend that you’re in love?
That’s just what Gayle and Lily has done.
Now can they make pretend a reality? And what about the twists in this book? I didn’t see that coming!
I really enjoyed this book – it’s not just another fake fiance book – it had something more, something extra that dragged me in and sat my backside down on the sofa and refused to let me go until I finished this book and made me write this review.
Yes I really enjoyed it and I want to share this book with you.

A sweet story with a lesson. Usually people aren’t mind readers. You can’t expect them to know what you’re thinking or how you feel. You need to open up and tell what you want or need.
I loved this story with Gayle and Lily.
It was well written and had likeable characters – even Mindy, at first.

Gayle and Lily grew up together and have always been the best of friends He is now a well known bad boy in the baseball league and she wants a career as a sports journalist Lilly comes up with the idea that she should be his fake fiancee so that she will have an advantage getting the job. What she doesn’t know is that he has always loved her and sees this as his opportunity. Will they fall in love do they have a future together You will have to read to see. A fast fun book that entertains until the very last page
Lily was Gayle’s best friend and his mother and her grandmother always wanted them to be together. When Lily needed a push in her career as a journalist Gayle agreed to pretend to be her fiancé. Gayle has had feeling for Lily bit never acted on them because of their friendship. Sparks fly between them and its not long before they give into temptation. Just as it seems things are going well between them a misunderstanding causing more distance between them. However when someone causes some trouble for Gayle its not long before Lily come back to him. Will they be able to see that they belong together?
