Wow!! I loved this novel by Tamie Dearen!! Wrangled by the Watchful Cowboy is the third book in the series. This novel focuses on Cord and Jess and is set in Sage Valley Ranch.
Jess has come back to Sage Valley to ‘recover’ from her breakup with her ex-fiance. Cord has returned as well and is helping with the ranch. Nick (Jess’ brother) asks Cord to look out for Jess and keep any guys away, but what happens when Cord can’t keep away from her?
I absolutely loved Cord and Jess. They are wonderful characters, and together, they are just so sweet!! I loved their interactions together and many instances had me laughing out loud.
I also loved the secondary characters. Nick, Nanna and Finn were among my favourites! The secondary characters were well-developed and added to the overall story. I particularly enjoyed seeing Finn! If you want to know what happens to him, go check out his story in ‘The Billionaire’s Reckless Marriage’! I loved that novel too!
The setting was beautiful as well.
Overall, a fantastic novel, not to be missed!! I would highly recommend you read it! 5 out of 5 stars!!
I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not affected my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.
I adored Cord. He was smitten when he sees Jess again, his friends little sister now all grown up.
Except, timing is everything, with Jess just ending a serious relationship and trying to focus on finishing school.
Cord, in a bid to impress the girl, tells her he’s gonna ride a bull. Um, yeah, the only bull he’s ever ridden was a mechanical one. He worries about how to get the girl and its so sweet.
Will he get the girl even though her ex shows up?
Recommend.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
This story is packed with heart and humor! Loved it!
I don’t read many straight romance novels, but I’d read several by Ms. Dearen and loved them, so when I saw she had a Texas romance (with bull riding, even), I had to give it a try. I’m SO glad I did! The characters are so real I wanted to hug them (well, all except Jessica’s ex-boyfriend Parker). The details put the reader on the ranch, and one can even smell the coffee and taste Nanna’s breakfast tacos! There is drama and comedy in equal measure in this delightful read, and it makes me want to read the rest in the Sage Valley Ranch series, all clean romance by five different authors. This standalone book 3 is guaranteed for all readers of clean romance. Whether or not you’re a Texan, you’ll cheer for Jess and Cord and all the loveable characters in this installment. (I only wish my Mom were still alive to read this–she loved Hallmark movies AND bull riding and would have loved this book!)
Loved Jessica and Cords sweet romance! With laughter and sweet swoon worthy moments, I was hooked from the beginning.
All sweet and light and flirty and the WHAM! all the feels right to the heart. These are two broken young people in love with the other but afraid to open up. Well worth the read!
How can Jess get her crush from seventh grade to notice her as a grown up when her brother has the same guy being his watchdog to keep her from dating the wrong guy? Here comes her grandmother to the rescue and to play matchmaker. How will her brother react? This is a wonderful fun story that I really enjoyed reading. I won’t give any more of the plot away, but you need to read to find out what happens. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I received an ARC of this book from the author, Tamie Dearen, and this is my voluntary and honest review. I loved this clean romance between Cord and Jessica. I enjoyed the parts about the rodeo and the ranch life in general. The way the author writes about the setting, makes the reader feel like they are a part of story. It has a HEA ending and is a must read with no cliffhanger even though it is part of a the Sage Valkey Ranch series.
Wrangled by the Watchful Cowboy is a sweet romance that sucked me in from page one and kept me reading until I finished the book. Cord and Jessica (J.J.) have a lot of chemistry. They also each harbor a crush on the other and a desire to return to Sage Valley. the plot revolves around a rodeo where Jessica plans to be a barrel racer and Cord plans to ride a bronco! The two try to stay in the friend zone, but we know how this will end. How they get to the HEA made for a very pleasant afternoon read.
This romance set in Sage Valley is a sweet story of love. Jessica Powell has had a crush on Cord Dennison since she was in seventh grade. Unfortunately for her he never noticed her for anything but his best friend, Nick’s little sister, J.J. This story takes place many years later after Jessica’s fiance has just called off their engagement and she is not dating until after she graduates from college. I enjoyed watching Jessica and Cord working together on her grandparent’s dude ranch and just being friends. Jessica;s Nanna is so refreshing. She’s a little spitfire who says what she thinks and is a bit of a matchmaker too. It is fun watching Nanna intervene on Jessica and Cord’s relationship or “friendship.” This story is full of cowboys, bull riding, a rodeo, and sweet romance too. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
A beautifully written sweet romance of childhood crush’s to real love. Jessica’s last relationship has left her crushed and heartbroken, she doesn’t know which way is up when it comes to relationships. Just when she swears off men, she runs into her childhood crush, Cord.
I also liked the mention of Finn Anderson’s character from “The Billionaire’s Reckless Marriage” (The Limitless Clean Billionaire Series Book2), which I also recommend.
I was given an advanced copy of this book, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
An amazing sweet funny well written cowboy brothers best friend romance. This smooth flowing storyline had me engaged from page one till the last page turned, that I had to finish in one sitting. The characters were likeable, well developed, had great chemistry they tried to hide from the other while their love story progresses as they challange and tease each other into admitting what the other is too scared to admit. The fantastic romance has misunderstandings, lose in self confidence from a controlling ex fiance, bottling of feelings, miscommunication, a meddling nanna, misunderstandings and captivating wonderful laugh out loud moments that had me in stitches more than once. A wonderful addition to the Sage Valley Ranch series that is a standalone but includes wonderful secondary and some recurring cameos. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
Wrangled by the Watchful Cowboy by Tamie Dearen was so good! I truly enjoyed going back to Sage Valley Ranch 🙂 it’s always nice to get to (re)visit (fictional) places that are dear to you 😉 I truly enjoyed getting to know Jessica and Cord. Those two!! Ahhh, the Feels!! The chemistry was perfect, and the pace was just what their story needed 😀 I also loved getting to know more of ranch life, and especially to get to see a rodeo! That was really awesome! All the facts about bull riding, bullfighters and barrel racing were also interesting to learn/read about. Seriously, this was just an epic sequel in this series, and it was masterfully delivered. Well done Ms. Dearen!

I love the brother’s best friend/little sister trope. Who honestly didn’t have a crush on their brother’s friend or your friend’s brother.? Jess and Cord are real sweet together. I love the different ways Cord tries to get out of the friend zone. I also enjoyed the rodeo element, even though it was a little scary. I haven’t been to a rodeo in years and I think I need to remedy that soon. I really enjoyed this story. Another great story for this series.
-‘Imagine how humiliating it would be if he realized she actually liked him when his part was all an act. Ughh! Awkward with a capital A.’-
His attraction towards her is real but her brother would kill him if he ever revealed that to him so he needs to pretend to be attracted to Jessica.
-‘“My gut feeling is you should tell Cord you like him. It might send him running. But who knows… maybe he’ll realize you’re more than Nick’s kid sister. Believe me, five years of age difference is no big thing.”’-
This is a really good story and a pleasure to read. I highly recommend it. I was gifted a copy by the author but it did not influence my thoughts about the story nor my review. These are my own thoughts and opinions.
After reading this story I think I’m happy that I did not have older brothers. I can see dating might have been a problem if they have a protective streak. I enjoy books by Tamie Dearen. I know to expect a sweet romance, humor and interesting characters. This book offers all of those. I look forward to reading more books by her.
Wrangled by the Watchful Cowboy is a well-written romance that I enjoyed reading. Cord and Jessica are both likable characters and make a great couple. I love how Nanna meddles in the relationship and how protective Jessica’s brothers are of her. Both add humor to the book. Tamie Dearen writes some swoon-worthy kisses into the story. The plot moves along at a good pace, and the dialogue flows well. There’s a perfect HEA for this couple. I highly recommend this to readers of clean/wholesome romance. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this fun to read romance.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I love it when a book has a bit of humor to it. Found myself chuckling out loud as I read thru this book. Was thrilled she told Parker to take a hike. I would recommend this books to everyone. This is the first book I read by this author and I am sure that it won’t be the last.
I have been given a copy of this book and this reflects my honest opinion.
I loved this book! It was every thing you can ask for in a romance novel! Highly recommend
I loved the humor in this book. The playfulness of Cord & Jessica was the best part of the book. I loved the willingness to be vulnerable to each other. I hope when people read about the controlling character of Parker they will use it as red flags to avoid such people in a relationship as many are fooled by controller’s & pay the price dearly.
