FUN BOOK!
While I was reading this book, my husband and granddaughter would hear me chuckling, raise their eyebrows as if to say, “What now?” I would then read them snippets.
I love when a book has humor!
This book has a girl named Jess who has crushed on a guy named Cord since she was younger. There’s also a fiesty, meddling grandma, an over protective brother, and of course the nasty ex-fiance ‘.
Really fun book!
I received this as an advanced copy and this is my voluntary honest review.
This is another sweet romance with wonderful characters by Tamie Dearen. Jessica Powell is helping out at her grandparents’ ranch when she bumps into her old crush from school. However, her crush doesn’t even know who she is and is surprised to find out that she’s his best friend’s little sister all grown up. In those days, Jessica was too young for Cord Dennison to ever notice her in that way. Now he can’t help noticing her and is only too happy to keep the other cowboys away when her big brother asks him to. Jessica is still getting over a bad breakup and has lost some of her self-confidence due to her controlling ex fiance. When she finds herself falling for Cord, she doesn’t trust herself, but Cord has other plans. When he tries to impress her by volunteering to ride a bull in the rodeo, he only manages to make her mad instead. Follow their love story as they challenge and tease each other on the ranch.
I received an eARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Fantastic story. A mega roller coaster ride of emotions. Wonderfully well written. Delightful tear jerker.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. I am leaving my honest review.

Wrangled by the Watchful Cowboy
I’m not someone who normally reads cowboy stories but I really like Tamie Dearen as an author so agreed to give it a try.
I’m glad I did! Wrangled has fun characters who take you on their journey to love. The book is a fun, sweet romance that reads quickly and keeps you interested. I highly recommend it.
I did receive an arc but the opinion is all mine (and unexpected since I really don’t like most cowboy books!)
Sweet and fun read. I really enjoyed it. The characters were likeable and the romance clean and sweet.
*I was given a copy of this book by the author and this is my honest opinion.
Jessica Powell, a college student, is spending the summer helping out at the dude ranch/working cattle ranch of her grandparents. She never expected to see Cord Dennison, her brother Nick’s best friend and her childhood crush, working there as well. Cord left Sage Valley nine years ago after his high school graduation to live in the city. Now an accountant, he has been hired to re-do the computer system for the ranch.
Having just had her heart broken, Nick asks Cord to watch out for her. When the ranch foreman keeps asking her out, Jessica asks Cord to pretend they are seeing each other even though she has vowed not to date again until she graduates. Spending every day together, feelings start developing despite knowing that Cord will be leaving Sage Valley at the end of the summer.
This was my first book by Tamie Dearen. I enjoyed this cute story. Not only were Jessica and Cord a fun couple, but the secondary characters added to the humor as well. It was a clean read and I’ll be looking into more of her books.
I received a free copy of this book. I volunteered to read it and write a review.
Okay. Turned out to be young adult which is not my interest.
Cord Dennison in an effort to impress Jessica Powell enters a bull riding contest. He has feelings for her. The only problem – she’s his best friend’s little sister and Cord has promised to keep anyone from dating her.
Jessica likes Cord but questions his motives.
Great, likable characters. There are funny quotes and scenes. They tease, challenge, and misunderstand each other.
Jessica talking to herself: “Tonight must be completely platonic. No flirting. And definitely no kissing. If the thought even crosses your mind, think about something else, like … going to the dentist.”
This was a fun read. Took me back to my younger years when I rode horses at my cousin’s farm.
I’ve enjoyed all of Tamie’s books. Each has humor, with Christian elements. The characters are interesting and memorable. (My favorite is Alora and her friends. The second is the Best series.)
I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.
This is an entertaining book about a cowboy who is asked to keep an eye on a “little” sister of a close friend. While she needs no special protection, Jessica can truly take care of herself. Jessica is recovering from a broken engagement and has sworn off dating until she graduates from college in the spring. Cord is tasked by her brother, Nick, to keep an eye on her. But Cord and Jess seem at odds all the time. The tension is real and entertaining between them. Add in a stupid ex named Parker and the good times roll.
This is a fun book to read.
Have you ever fallen in love with your brother’s best friend?
Great new book. Loved it. Another must read by Tamie Dearen.
Barrel racing champion Jessica returns from college for a summer job helping out on her grandparent’s dude ranch after a break up with her high society fiancé. She hadn’t counted on her brother’s best friend Cord being at the ranch and looking even better than when she was in junior high.
Cord left his big city job after his father died and offered to help Jessica’s grandparents at their neighboring dude ranch. When he sees the beautiful young woman at the house maybe things are looking up. He doesn’t recognize her but when he does things just got more complicated. Her brother Nick asks him to keep an eye on her but the friend zone isn’t an easy place to stay.
Will her ex or an old flame get in the way?
Tamie has done it again this time with a cowboy romance that has a blue-eyed hottie and a beauty with a lot of spunk. Tamie has a way of telling a story that puts you right in the middle of the action. I loved this book.
I got an ARC and this is an honest review.
