Cherish Me is a delight to read. Nai is so very sure that she never wants to marry and just wants to be successful in her career, until her Aunt Ivy needs help back in the home town that Nai escaped from. Her childhood friend and almost boyfriend, Mateo, is back to help his grandfather. Her two best buddies also live in Chapel Cove again. I found all of the main and supporting characters to be likable. There are deep-seated hurts that both Nai and Mateo have to overcome before a romantic relationship can work. I loved how Nai and Mateo helped each other heal with God’s help. There are some decidedly humorous moments, especially when Aunt Ivy’s pets are around. The story flows well, and the dialogue feels natural. I definitely want to read more of Autumn Macarthur’s books. I highly recommend this book to clean/wholesome romance readers and to Christian romance readers. I got my copy through KU.
A novel that takes place in Chapel Cove Series. A story that is about second change romance and faith. Entertaing story.
Cherish Me:, is another great novel from the Chapel Cove series. A lot is happening in the book and sometimes everything seems to go wrong. Believing in love seems a big obstacle because trauma and a lot of old pain get in the way. But faith in God, prayer and perseverance ensure that everything will turn out well in the end. A very beautifully written Christian story.
Sweet, somewhat original. Could have been better edited.
I thought it could have been shorter. Different things were brought to the fore, with no advance in the plot. It felt like it was just filler. I read too many books to not recognize what seems to be happening. Thanks
What a fun and sweet second chances/reunion romance! I loved Mateo and Nai’s story. Mateo is a wonderful, caring hero, and I can relate to Nai in so many ways. And all the pets were so much fun! I highly recommend this book.
I’ve fallen in love with the Chapel Cove series and Naomi’s story is no exception. Gracefully written reflecting on God’s love and how He waits on us ever so patiently and makes our lives in His timing. When Naomi goes back home to care for her Aunt Ivy, she didn’t expect the second chance at love she thought she never deserved. And neither did Mateo. Such a sweet kindhearted couple that you root for the whole way. I love how Ms Autumn gives a picturesque setting of Chapel Cove and its characters. Full of charm and grace, it’s a beautiful place to retreat to after a stressful day. With characters that you’ll adore and a community like none other.
A heartwarming romance
Naomi’s Aunt Ivy had collected a mix of pets from the animal shelter, including a parrot who had *somehow* learned the phrase “”Naomi should marry Mateo!”” However, having seen her mother making poor choices, she determined to never rely on a man, That was simply out of the question. Wasn’t it?
Mateo was a kind man who had loved Naomi almost as long as he had known her. Driven by his scars, both seen and unseen, to prove his worth to those around him, he was constantly serving and was well loved in the small town. He was also noble in giving up a higher rank in the big city police force and a higher salary when he moved home to care for his aging grandfather. I really liked his dedication and servant heart.
Naomi not only had to learn that it is okay to rely on those around but also that God desires us to rely on Him. Moreover, Mateo needed to learn to surrender the survivor guilt he lived with every day.
The books in this multi-author series intertwine, as the main characters from each are best friends. This did make for an unusual reading as they take place concurrently. An incident where a search party was sent out ended up feeling incomplete due to the reference to the search and no details other than the result. I know this was addressed in another book yet it seemed awkward.
One thing in the book that bugged me, though, having grown up with a parrot I know that they imitate and don’t understand what they are saying. It was when Aunt Ivy’s parrot changed from saying ‘Naomi should marry Mateo”” to “”Nai should marry Mateo”” because Naomi began going by that nickname. That isn’t something a parrot would figure out. I didn’t take away any stars for this but felt compelled to mention it!
Readers who enjoy small town romances, especially those with older couples getting their second chances will want to pick up a copy of this lovely book.

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
When Nai comes back to Chapel Cove to help Aunt Ivy her life will change. Watching Nai try to hide her feelings for Mateo will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The characters in this book are all very special people who you will love reading about. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could. This book is truly inspirational and you won’t be able to stop reading it
I really appreciated this book because it focused on characters that were in their 40s. I liked this because it’s relevant to my age. However, any age can read this and find it interesting. It was east to read and funny at times. If you like animals you will be impressed with how the main character balances them all together; a parrot, 2 dogs and a cat.
This is the first book I’ve read in this series, but it promises to be a great series. Nai and Mateo have been friends since childhood and close to more in their teens. Reunited over 20 years later can they start where they left off? This was a sweet story about second chance love, but also about learning to love yourself through God’s love. Mateo is such a great guy and Nai has been lost, but is good at heart and is finding her way. They are sweet together when they get out of their own way.
Nari is back in Chapel Cove to take care of her Aunt Ivy and her bookstore after her heart attack. She promised herself to never come back because of all the bad memories from her childhood but can God and her friends make Nai realise she is worth loving? Can the old feelings fro Mateo, her best friend, resurface and will they find love at last? A touching love story about facing your past and your fears and embrace God’s love
Cherish Me is a delightful small town, second chance romance with wonderful characters nearing 40. With 2 rambunctious dogs, a cat, a talking parrot, an aunt’s heart attack, an aging grandfather, a leaking roof, and interesting bookstore personnel, this book has something for everyone. No one should miss this inspiring romance.
Cherish Me was so good! It’s book three in the Chapel Cove Romance series, but can definitely stand alone. Following three childhood friends around their fortieth birthdays, Cherish Me is Nai’s time to shine. After her appearances in the first two books, it was great getting to know Nai better.
Ivy’s on Spruce was such a charming store. Sure, it needed a little tlc, but the eccentric employees and rambunctious animals gave the store character.
One of the things I loved most about this book was the strong spiritual message of letting go and trusting God to take care of things. It’s a good one to remember and keep in all of our hearts.
I’ve loved my time in Chapel Cove. It’s a wonderful place filled with wonderful people. This book just reiterated the fact even more that I wish this town were real. It’d be an ideal place to call home.
I received a copy of this book from the author and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.
Naomi flew into Portland to see her Aunt Ivy in the hospital and was asked to head to Chapel Cove to take care of the bookstore and Aunt Ivy’s menagerie, two dogs, a cat and a parrot. Though Chapel Cove is the last place she wants to return to, she agrees for her Aunt Ivy. A plus, seeing her besties who have returned recently and though she doesn’t want to admit it to herself, Mateo as well. I loved getting to know a bit more about Aunt Ivy, Fern and Violet who we met briefly in the earlier books, as well as Mateo and Nai. Another great addition to this series and a small town that grows closer to the heart with each book and character introduced.
I am so loving this Chapel Cove series. Getting to know the people and all about their lives is truly delightful. The story of Nai and Mateo is fraught with fear in regards to possibly ruining a good friendship. Will the hurts of the past be dealt with or will they continue in fear. Very well written with a look at how God is always with us regardless of how we look the other way. Highly recommend.
LOVED this book!! A great follow-up to Remember Me and Love Me!! Can’t wait for the next books in this series!! Love that they are all 40 somethings, and shows that you never know what God has in store!! Never too late to turn to Him, to trust Him, and that He’s always there!
Nai and Mateo have a history that they haven’t really moved past. A story of discovering true love of the Lord and from each other. Loved the animals and Nai’s friends. An inspirational read that left me thinking about these two and the lessons they learned.
This book drew me in from the beginning. Chapel Cove is the one place that Naomi (Nai) wants to avoid but she loves her aunt more than she hates the town. Forced to return to town following her aunt’s heart attack, Nai finds herself responsible for a book store, eccentric employees, a bird, a cat, two dogs and more personal stresses than she thinks she can handle. Luckily God has patience and will wait for us to turn to Him for answers. Mateo has been in a holding pattern for the last 23 years, ever since he and Nai both left after high school. Now he hopes it is finally his time. Autumn MacArthur has a good story line and wonderful characters for this story.
I am so in love with this Chapel Cove series, and this third book is amazing! Nai’s character hits so close to home for me – I can do anything without help mentality – it is such a pleasure to read her journey! I love the cross-over between the three best friends as well during this timeline. So looking forward to more in the series!
