I’ve loved Amber since I wore Batman Underoos, but she doesn’t know I exist. Not until she knocks me unconscious with a dead turkey. Now I can’t stay away, and it’s only a matter of time ‘til she learns my big secret. Not my recipe for beef bourguignon, but the secret one no one knows. Not even my siblings who’ve spent endless hours with me dreaming up our new luxury resort and oh yeah, getting … luxury resort and oh yeah, getting to know each other since we grew up with different moms.
But the more I’m with Amber, the surer I am she’s my dream girl. Brains, beauty, and the business smarts to turn a reindeer ranch into a quirky wedding venue. Did I mention she’s perfect?
Then my mom shows up stewing like a pot set to boil over, and suddenly I’m not sure I can keep a lid on things. Can the guy in the white chef’s hat be the hero who gets the girl and saves the day, or will it all fall flatter than a burnt soufflé?

Very enjoyable reading. Plot was a little far fetched but had a good ending.
Liked it so much I’m picking up the rest of the series.
Fun read with great characters and dialogue. Not perfect but good enough to want to read the whole series but this can be read as stand alone
This was such a sweet love story! I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the storyline. I always love a happily ever after 🙂
Interesting family work through issues and remember how it was growing up.
Cute story!
This was a really delightful, sweet story. A very fun read.
A wonderful escape!
4.5 Stars
Two perfect, flawless people, hiding all their flaws. I think my favorite part of this story was how hard Sean and Amber work to be perfect for everyone around them but don’t have to try so hard with each other. This series is so good! I can’t wait to start the next one.
Ok so I debated about 4 or 4.5 stars because I was a little disappointed with the story. The first half of the book was somewhat uninteresting to me but it did pick up really well. My dilemma stems from the fantastic first book in the series, Studmuffin Santa which I gave 5 stars. This one wasn’t as funny or steamy as the first one but I was expecting it to be. All in all I still thought it deserved better than 4 stars. I love all of the siblings in the series so I will definitely be reading the rest of the books in the series. Until next time folks happy reading.
The second book in the Ponderosa Resort Romantic Comedies series, this book is a hit! The chemistry between the main characters, the setting, and the storyline make for a great read that will have you laughing and smiling and rooting for the happy ever after.
3.75 stars- CHEF SUGARLIPS is the second instalment in Tawna Fenske’s contemporary, adult PONDEROSA RESORT ROMANTIC COMEDIES romance series focusing on the Bracelyn siblings. This is twenty-seven year old chef Sean Bracelyn, and twenty-five year old, marketing specialist and co-owner of Jingle Bell Reindeer Ranch Amber King’s story line. CHEF SUGARLIPS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Amber and Sean) CHEF SUGARLIPS follows the building romance between twenty-seven year old chef Sean Bracelyn, and twenty-five year old, marketing specialist Amber King. Sean Bracelyn has lusted after Amber King for close to ten years but Amber had no idea about the who and how of Sean Bracelyn. Desperate for someone to cater a wedding at their family owned Jingle Bell Reindeer Ranch, Amber, along with a crossbow and stuffed turkey make Sean an offer he cannot refuse. What ensues is the building romance between Sean and Amber, and the potential fall-out as Sean struggles with family secrets, secrets that are about to be revealed.
The relationship between Sean and Amber is one of immediate attraction but Amber’s history is men is questionable, and Sean battles between head and heart knowing not everything is as it appears to be. Embarrassed by the possibility of the truth being revealed, Sean is willing to push Amber out of his life, leaving a devastated and heart broken woman in its wake. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters include Sean’s mother Melody, and his large assortment of half-siblings: sister Bree, brother and lawyer James, Mark and Jonathon, and cousin Brandon Brown (Studmuffin Santa #1), and Amber’s sister Jade; and an assortment of bridal clients, and friends. Bree Bracelyn’s story is next in Sergeant Sexy pants.
CHEF SUGARLIPS is another story of family, secrets, friendship and love. There are moments of heart break, fun, humor, and laughs-wait for the meatball massacre. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is flirty and sexy; the characters are energetic and colorful. The conflict is limited to our hero’s inability to look beyond the past.
This book had me laughing out loud within the first chapter. Sean is adorable and I loved reading from his POV. Amber is just plain likable, the kind of girl you’d love to be friends with. Their chemistry is immediate and hooked me in right away. Loved the exploding meatballs.
Super cute, funny RomCom. Sean first saw Amber while visiting his father, when he was eight and she was six, and was smitten. He saw her again when she was skinny dipping in his father’s pond when she was 18 and he was 20, and he felt the same pull. Fast forward eight years, and Sean and his extended family are starting a luxury resort next door to Amber’s reindeer ranch. Both characters are sweet, and carry baggage from their youth that threatens to keep them apart. I really loved this story and cannot wait to read the next story in the series.
A quick easy to read story. Both have businesses they are trying to either open or promote. Characters are sweet and the town seems idyllic.
I’ve long been a fan of Tawna Fenske, and her latest doesn’t disappoint. Amber and Sean are a great couple and it was fun getting to know them and being introduced to at least a few of Sean’s siblings. Amber was first introduced in the fantastic “Studmuffin Santa” and I’m glad she found her own happily ever after. Tawna is building a wonderful, quirky, hilarious and sexy world with this new series, and Sean and Amber start it off right. I almost always develop a crush on Tawna’s guys, and Sean has definitely been added to the list. This book was sweet, sexy, touching and funny. I can’t wait for more adventures at the Ponderosa Resort!

Loved this Laugh-out-loud story!
I can’t say this enough! I loved this book! Tawna never ceases to exceed my expectations! I found this book hilarious, from the initial awkward meeting, to reindeer mating information, to the meatballs at a wedding reception, I laughed from the beginning, throughout this book. Sensitive issues are approached with consciousness and sympathy, drawing in the reader to the environment and feelings, while the chemistry between Amber and Sean start at their meeting and grows throughout their story.
I highly recommend this book! Like all of Tawna Fenske books, you’ll find yourself literally laughing out loud and looking for your own Chef Sean!
This book is really, really funny. Yes, it touches on some serious subjects with sensitivity and feeling but overall it is hilarious. Amazing first meeting, questionable cookies, lingerie shenanigans, plus more awkward reindeer mating facts equals a quirky book that actually made me spit tea from laughing. I was rooting for Sean and Amber from that first meeting. Their chemistry is amazing. Loved it!!
Loved this book! This is the second book in the Ponderosa Resort series and it does not disappoint. I love when I can read a romance and get a chuckle when I read. This is the story of Amber and Sean. Amber is a wedding planner at the reindeer farm she lives on with her sister Jade, who we met in book one. Sean is a chef who lives on the neighboring ranch he will be opening with his siblings. Amber turns to Sean for help when she has a last minute wedding to plan and can’t find a caterer that is up to the standards of the bride. There is an instant attraction between Amber and Sean even though they want to try to fight it because of stuff happening in their lives or past. Sean is trying to figure out how to deal with his mother who dropped in for a surprise visit and the troubles she brings with her. Amber is just trying to move on from the pedestal she was placed on in high school and with her unlucky attempts at finding love. I like how when the problems surface between these two it isn’t drawn out and they both realize that forgiveness is easy for them because there problems are easily worked out because they see the real person behind the mask. This is another fabulous book from Tawna Fenske and if you have enjoyed her books in the past you will love this one too.
I loved this book. There was so much warmth and heart mixed in with secrets and misunderstandings. These two characters were so relatable it felt like I was reading about friends.
I really liked Amber, I felt like she could have been someone I knew. In high school she was looked at in a certain way and she can’t seem to shake that perception. While its not necessarily mean in any way, the expectations that comes with it is hard for her to carry sometimes and makes her doubt herself and the men she is interested in.
I loved Sean!! I liked that he was genuinely a good guy. He tries to right by others and be the one people can count on. What he doesn’t know is sometimes he is sacrificing things for himself in order to keep others happy. I really liked the concept that he has been interested in Amber since he was a little boy and really wanted to get to know her as a woman and look deeper into her than others have done.
I really liked the banter and humor these two had for each other especially when they first meet. I also liked the sexy times. These two had chemistry coming right off the pages.
I can’t wait to read more in this series!
