Dating is hard. Dating in a small town? Impossible.Leave it to my little brother to come back home announcing he knocked up his fiancée and the wedding has been moved…to next month. When he tries to set me up with one of his football buddies, I tell him I’ll be bringing my own plus-one.Only problem? I’m hopelessly single.Enter Sullivan Scott, AKA my hero.We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my … hero.
We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my boyfriend, and I’ll use my mechanic skills to help him fix his boat. That’s it. No funny business, and definitely no feelings involved.
Sully’s quiet and reserved, and I’ve been told I’m too much to handle on a good day. We’re opposites, and neither of us is looking for anything serious.
I’m certain we can keep this strictly platonic…

Holy crap I freaking loved this book!! I laughed so many times and lost count of all the hilarious quotes I highlighted. If you want to laugh so hard you pee a little, look no further. This is definitely the book for you!
Cheesy is seriously funny but it isn’t just packed full of shenanigans and witty banter. It’s also full of adorable characters and awesome friendships. I freaking love Thea. She is such a sassy little badass weirdo. And don’t even get me started on Sully. I’ll just say that Sullivan is the fictional character to make you fall in love with fictional characters. Thea and Sully together are #relationshipgoals and I totally imagine their future wedding vows involving hand turkey promises.
I loved loved loved all the interactions with the couples of Slice past. But Simon totally stole the show this time around! Why can’t these characters be real?! I need them in my life!
I loved this book SO MUCH!!! Sully was everything I was expecting and more (chapter 12 nearly killed me, hot damn)! Funny, sexy, and with a cast of characters that make me feel like I’m hanging with friends, this book was the perfect escape.
This book is definitely in my top 5 reads of 2020 and is my favorite rom com I’ve read this year. I will read anything this woman writes forever more andI can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
This went from “I don’t know what to do” to “Lets do this”! I enjoyed it so much. I love how Thea and Sully’s relationship took its time developing as they were practically strangers when they struck their deal. It’s funny but sweet and I thought I was going to have to put it down so I wouldn’t finish it too fast.
I have been waiting for Sully’s book since we first met him in book 1, and Teagan certainly did not disappoint, in fact she absolutely outdid herself. I wish I had something to erase my mind so I could go back and enjoy it all over again for the first time.
One of the things I love most about Teagan Hunter books are the interconnecting characters, our Heroine here Thea, is the sister of Jonas, who was the hero in the previous book. In fact, it is Jonas’ wedding that Thea enlists Sully’s help as her fake date. There is also a mention of one of our other favourite couples being Sully’s new boss, but I’ll let you find out who it is for yourselves. Needless to say, this left a huge smile on my face after reading and made me want to do a reread on one of my other favourite TH books.
Thea is hysterical, she has absolutely no filter, a hatred for pizza, an uncontrollable sweet tooth, works as a mechanic managing one of her fathers garages and has absolutely no trust in the opposite sex after being burnt in her last relationship. Dating is hard for Thea as she’s not looking for long term, it’s even harder dating in a small town where everybody knows each other. Whilst trying to get some work done in Slice, Thea’s ex walks in with a woman in tow and to avoid the inevitable awkward conversation, Thea grabs the first man she sees and begs him to play her pretend boyfriend, this just happens to be Sully.
Sully is total book boyfriend material, as laidback, loveable and insightful as ever in this book, he has his own trust issues from his past, but prides himself on his gift of reading people and knowing when a couple belong together. When a crazy lady grabs him in his favourite pizza place and begs him to fake date her, he is intrigued by the fact she’s the only person he can’t get a read on. Agreeing to help Thea, the pair begin to spend a lot of time together, which inevitably leads them to the bedroom, but they both agree to part ways when feelings become involved. Unfortunately for them both, they can’t stop the feelings they begin to have.
This book is without a doubt, my favourite in the series. I love the escapades of this crazy group of friends, my face hurt by the end from all the laughing and smiling. I loved Thea and Sully both separately and together. I thoroughly enjoyed the growth of their friendship and how the relationship developed. I laughed out loud at Simon, so many times, poor guy, and Thea’s parents are absolutely hilarious. I can’t recommend enough, checking out Cheesy on the Eyes, if I could give it higher than 5 stars, I definitely would!
Well darn, didn’t Teagan just go and write another top class book with two main characters who have become my favourite of the series…!?!!!
Fully LOVED IT!!!
The Slice Series has it all, falling in love with the brother’s best friend, epic enemies-to-lovers, single parents getting their hae’s, it’s all there and I loved every single one of them, but it’s this one, Sully and Thea’s story that has become my firm favourite
These two just gel, there’s Sully the quiet soulful easy going one, and Thea the mechanic, who has no filter and has the sweetest tooth ever!!
I love Teagans sense of humour! It never feels forced, it just flows perfectly. The attraction between the two main characters is believable and she has adorable side characters….I love Simon so freaking much!
I also love that we get to catch up with previous couples! I’ve missed those guys and again, it all just flows together. It all just reads natural.
An excellent read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
5 stars.
I really enjoyed this one. All I have to say is…
Sully was just too cute man. I loved him. He was just too sweet for me. In the previous books that I have read I really loved him. He was just a take it as it comes easygoing type of guy.
Thea was my hero. She was a mechanic and ran the shop and she was superwomen. When she needed Sully’s help he had no problem helping her out. Well as long as he didn’t expect Sex as payment, lol.
I loved their interaction with each other. The teasing, the chemistry, everything worked for me.
The other characters in the book I really adored. They just complimented this romance. Even Thea’s family, her parents were hilarious. You will not go wrong with reading this sexy, funny, romantic story. Definitely worth the time
I wish I could give this more than 5 stars.
I loved Thea; I am Thea. She was too loud, no filter, sarcastic, she wasn’t a girly-girl. She had been told once that she was “too much” and those words were always there lingering in the back of her mind and I have heard that said about me too.
Sully is my new favorite Slice man! From the moment he agreed to go along with her crazy I was addicted, the connection these 2 shared felt different than any romance I have ever read, it felt deeper, stronger. If there were a step above soul mates Thea and Sully would be in that category. Thea wasn’t too much for Sully and I loved that embraced her crazy.
Their special brand of crazy made their banter hilariously entertaining, SO HOT and extra cheesy.
OMG what a wonderful story Teagan Hunter presents us here!! It’s funny, like laugh out loud funny, lovely, sexy and let’s not forget swoony! It’s super cute and I loved Thea and Sully a lot!!
Thea and Sully met at Slice, because her ex came in with his new girl and she didn’t want to be seen alone, so she asked Sully for help. One thing leads to another and bam they agree on a fake relationship for show. But what happens when fake gets real?!
’ . .
Thea has absolutely no filter, speaks her mind, and is so much more. I totally find her adorable! Sully, we met him before in the other books, is the quiet one of the friends group. He’s the observer. So I think it’s like they are the yin to their yang.
Teagan is giving us a great funny story here, but like I said, swoony as well. The first kiss scene? Damn I had butterflies flying around in my body because it was so cute! I absolutely adored this book!
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the LONG awaited story with Sully who was featured in I Knead You Tonight. He was Drew and Winston’s surfer roomie and he was a scene stealer in that story and in this story he is a bit more grown up. He now live on his house boat, he still surfs but he has a grown up job too and in this story, we meet Thea who is the older sister of Jonas Schwartz who we met in A Slice of Love. He was the NFL Player to be who delivered pizzas and got a 2nd chance at love with his ex Frankie.
Thea has a nasty ex and one day she grabs Sully to play her fake boyfriend. She also needs a date to her brothers wedding so she calls on Sully again. And thus a beautiful friendship is born, However messy feelings get involved and Thea has to decide whether she wants to catch feelings…
Thea is a very different character, she is a strong woman who also runs an autobody shop and she is used to men hating her career and so for her Sully is a breathe of fresh air. But she has to be willing to take a risk with Sully and so this is very much a will she storyline.
It made for a sweet and adorable storyline and I felt Thea was perfect for Sully an well Sully was perfect for her. I adored Thea’s parents and I loved catching up with Jonas and Frankie again, in addition to the Slice kids, friends and significant others.
A romantic comedy to satisfy your sweet tooth! Cheesy on the Eyes is the first book in this series that had me craving dessert pizza instead of the regular greasy goodness. This is most definitely my favorite book in the series so far! The unfiltered banter between ALL of the characters will have you roaring with laughter. Previous characters that you already know and love from earlier books in the series make plenty of appearances throughout as well. I promise you’ll be craving sweets and smiling so much by the end, that your cheeks will hurt! Absolutely loved this one and it’s a must read for any fans of romantic comedy.
Author Teagan Hunter knows how to make you laugh, make you cry, and make you swoon…all in one crazy, hilarious, sexy romance…and CHEESY ON THE EYES is proof of that!
When Sully (YES! We finally get the mysterious Sully’s book!!!), rescues Thea in Slice (helping her avoid an awkward run-in with her ex), they never knew it would be the beginning of a spiraling fake relationship!
Take the leap. Enjoy the fall.
This “fake relationship” romance just gave me all the feels! I laughed so hard and I love the way the author wrote such believable conversations, characters, and situations! The storyline was fantastic and had such perfect flow to it!
Fate is that sure of us, baby.
I know this may sound “cheesy”…but I wish I could live in this town and get to know the characters personally from this Slice series! It has been such a fun series and I am so sad to see it end! This will be a series I will revisit and reread because it was just so dang good! 5 pizza topping stars from me!
I completely devoured this book! I had to keep apologizing to my husband for waking him up with my laughter while reading last night. As usual the wonderful Teagan Hunter has given us a fabulously funny yet emotional story with Thea and Sully. Thea meets Sully at Slice while trying to avoid her ex and even though they are total strangers the chemistry is unmistakable. A series of events sets off the “fake relationship ” that takes so many interesting turns that you just can’t stop reading. You get all of the crazy characters from the previous books in this series that left me snorting with laughter. Between all of the laughter is also some very emotional scenes that got me a bit teary eyed because the story is so well written you feel like you’re there. Definitely an unputdownable must read!
Cheesy on the eyes is the 5th book in the Slice Series by Teagan Hunter. I think you can read it as a stand alone, but I really recommend to read the other books before this one since the characters from the previous books make a few appearances.
This story is about Sullivan “Sully” Scott and Thea Schwartz. We met Sully in a previous book and Thea is the sister of Jonas Schwartz which me met in A Slice of Love.
Her brother comes home unannounced and let the family know that his fiancee is expecting a baby and so they move their wedding to the upcoming month. When Thea got asked if she attending the wedding with a plus-one she says yes … but the thing is, she doesn’t have a boyfriend. Here comes Sully in the picture. Thea makes a deal with him. She is fixing his boat and he will be her pretend boyfriend. Or so they thought.
We met Sully before and so we know that he seems like the quiet, loyal and a little mysterious guy but I loved that we see so many other characteristics of him in this book. Thea is the totally opposite of him and I freaking love her! She is a strong independent woman and has zero filter and I cried tears from laughing.
I just love Sully and Thea together and I am sure if you read the story you will fell in love with them as well.
Cheesy on the Eyes is a funny romantic comedy and for me the best book from the Slice Series. I smiled and laughed so much while reading this book. As you might know I love stories which are written in dual POV and I am happy that this book is one of them!
If you love rom coms I definitely recommend to read this book! Teagan is one of my favorite authors when it comes to romantic comedy stories!
I got an ARC provided in exchange for a honest review.
I know I have said this before but this series just keeps raising the bar for rom-coms. Teagan Hunter not only writes with humor but her female characters are strong but with a certain vulnerability that allows them to remain endearing.
Thea was born and raised in this small town in North Carolina. She works in the family business but that business is in a predominately male field of service so she has had to work hard to earn her way to the top. She has endured the collapse of her relationship with only serious relationship. She decided single was the life for her but what was she to do for her brother’s upcoming wedding. She didn’t want to be sat at the singles table.
In walks Sully, her knight in shining armor, easy on the eyes and also cheesy on the heart. He was also a total stranger! Sully may be the answer to all her questions but he may also be more than she bargained for.
What a beautiful story of discovery – of laughter, of friendship, of love!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Teagan Hunter has written another fantabulous book, finishing off the Slice series. And saving the best for last. There are so many things to love about this book:
– their unique version of a high five
– a female character who’s comfortable in her own skin
– Sully has a Dom side (swoon)
And then, tears. So many tears. Inevitable in a Teagan Hunter book.
All in all, even though I am sad that the Slice series has ended, I loved Sully’s book.
Another Slice of Teagan Hunter goodness.
Cheesy On The Eyes is the fifth stand-alone book in the ‘Slice’ series by Teagan Hunter. It’s not necessary to have read the others, although having previously enjoyed A Slice Of Love, I was really looking forward to this one.
This is Thea and Sully’s story. Thea is Jonas’s older sister and we met her in Slice Of Love. But, Sully was in all the other books-(which I have still to read!! Fixing that ASAP.)-so, he’s due his story.
Sully is quiet and soulful, sweet but with a hidden side that only Thea gets to see… and enjoy-over and over again. Lucky girl.
Thea is the manager of her dad’s auto shop and a mechanic. Yeah, she’s a tough little cookie, but she’s been let down by men who can’t handle her job, or her. She’s snarky, sassy, and full of life. She’s just what Sully has been looking for-even though he didn’t know it at the time.
Their ‘meet-cute’ was just that. Cute-and perfect. What started as pretend soon blossomed into the real thing and it was a joy to watch.
This was a funny, sweet, and sexy story that was long on the angst and high on family, friends, and finding your true self. A worthy read to take away some of the hardship of these trying times.
Can I just start off by asking can I be adopted by the Schwartz family? Because OMG they are so much fun.
I feel like I’ve been wanting Sully’s story for forever so it made my heart happy to finally get it. Sully and Thea together were just perfection. They were awkward and sweet and the tension between them was full of steam.
Getting to revisit this crazy group of friends while watching these two fall for each other unwittingly was the best.
Cheesy on the eyes is the fifth title in the Slice series, and it’s by far my favourite. Not only is Sully and Thea’s story fun, sweet, and sexy but captivating and enjoyable, and is sure to leave you with a smile upon your face.
I was hooked by this pair of characters, their dialogue and banter was very cleverly written. It’s not only fun, flirtatious, and witty, but also very humorous. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their interactions felt completely effortless, which you don’t always find in a fake relationship story line.
This pair of characters are complex and layered, whilst also very realistic and relatable. Thea is my kind of heroine. She’s was burned by her ex, and doesn’t want to risk falling in love, so when Sully unwittingly saves her, she gains his compliance in pretending to be her boyfriend for her brother’s wedding. Whilst sassy, witty and straight forward she’s also quite awkward. She’s not afraid to speak her mind, and her lack of filter had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. She’s strong and resilient, working in a male dominated profession, but also quite vulnerable and has a tender heart.
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Sully’s story. He’s been quite the enigmatic character in the previous titles and I couldn’t wait to discover what lay under the intuitive and soulful hippy persona. Still waters run deep with this hero, he’s kind, caring, compassionate, loyal and honest, and his persona has been shaped by events of his past.
I loved seeing the other characters from the Slice series appear throughout this storyline, and highly recommend this title to anyone who enjoys a witty, laugh out loud, slow burn, romantic comedy with a fake relationship.
4.5 Cranky Stars
Oh Thea! You see this spunky mechanic with a mouth that has no filter and you think nothing can get her down but boy you’d be wrong. Her heart is bruised, and she swears she won’t make the mistake of falling in love again queue Sullivan aka Sully. In a moment of panic, she flags him down and gets him to pretend that he is her boyfriend. You can already see where this is going. She needs a date to her brother Jonas wedding and why not this handsome stranger? Sully can’t figure out why this beautiful girl is flagging him down in a pizza joint with a look of panic on her face. Always the knight in shining armor he agrees to her plan. Sully has always felt at home in this small town where he landed. He has good friends and an excellent job but having someone to complete his life would be awesome. Together they come up with a list of dos and don’ts for their fake relationship. Sully has a feeling that Thea just may be his one, but he must convince her that he is worth the leap.
“Take the leap. Enjoy the fall.”
I love the slice series. It’s full of quirky individuals you can’t help but laugh with and see parts of yourself in them. I think Thea was perfect for Sully. He needs someone like her to add some spice to his life and he keeps her grounded. You can tell Teagan Hunter pulls from real life experiences with the quips and conversations. I think everyone should take the leap and read this series.
