Dating is hard. Dating in a small town? Impossible.Leave it to my little brother to come back home announcing he knocked up his fiancée and the wedding has been moved…to next month. When he tries to set me up with one of his football buddies, I tell him I’ll be bringing my own plus-one.Only problem? I’m hopelessly single.Enter Sullivan Scott, AKA my hero.We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my … hero.
We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my boyfriend, and I’ll use my mechanic skills to help him fix his boat. That’s it. No funny business, and definitely no feelings involved.
Sully’s quiet and reserved, and I’ve been told I’m too much to handle on a good day. We’re opposites, and neither of us is looking for anything serious.
I’m certain we can keep this strictly platonic…

This was hands down my favorite slice book. I love books when characters hide their feelings. Or fight their feelings. You will laugh out loud multiple times. You will crave pizza and sweets. I love how Thea wasn’t afraid to be herself. I loved Sully. I loved that he lived on a houseboat. I’m glad we got glimpses of all of our Slice family. Fantastic book!!
This one was a cute fun read. Both Sully and Thea are funny characters. You never know what they are going to say. Thea was kind of a breath of fresh air when it came to female characters. She’s strong and confident but still has her hold backs. Sully a nice guy. He’s super easy going. These to have super funny banter. I really like then together and their story was great.
Cheesy On The Eyes was exactly what my heart needed right now! Heavy on the comedy, the sass, the charm, and the love, light but poignant on the angst, and I fell head over heels in love with Sully and Thea!
From their meet cute, to their agreement, and everything that happens along the way on this emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey, Teagan had me smiling, and my heart cheering.
Sully is charming, and the strong and silent type, though Thea brings out his personality and it is delightful.
Thea is brash, sassy, and independent, with Sully bringing out her softer, sweeter edges, even if the conversation between them is usually at least half snark, which I adore!
The witty banter, the emotional honesty, and the touching characterization of both Sully and Thea and the host of secondary characters made my heart happy and put a smile on my face throughout every single page! You won’t regret picking this story up!
MY REVIEW (ARC PROVIDED)
Five stars!!
I loved this series, every last book, and was patiently waiting for Sully’s story. Well, let me tell you, Sully and Thea were absolute perfection! From beginning to end I was rooting for these two. Sully’scharacter is just so lovable and Thea’s was so fun and feisty.
I’m not going into the whole synopsis but let’s just say they crossed paths at just the right time. Paths turned into fake dating which turned into a hilarious hot and sexy story about two people convincing themselves that’s all they wanted.
“Take the leap. Enjoy the fall.”
“Love her enough for both of you until she’s not scared anymore. Then love her some more.”
I was so excited to see the whole gang having fun and hanging out and to get more of Jonas and Frankie. Oh and more of Jonas and Thea’s parents, they made me laugh so hard. Teagan has become one of my go-to authors for romantic comedies, she never fails to put a smile on my face and have me swooning over her lovable characters. I have to say the quiet soulful Sully was a favorite of mine. I am so happy with this book and how it all played out! I’m not ready to let this small town go! And seriously who doesn’t like pizza!?
Cheesy on the Eyes was just what I needed! Teagan Hunter is hilarious in the quick, fun and sweet story! I fell hard for Sully and Thea’s story and loved every minute of this book. They both felt so real throughout the story and their banter was hilarious. It was great to see everyone back one last time as this is the last book in the series. If you are looking for something to make you smile and have you laughing through each book, this series will do it!!
“Love her enough for both of you until she’s not scared anymore. Then love her some more…”
I love every book Teagan writes, they are page-turner, fresh, steamy and they have one amazing element, they are laugh out loud fantastic!! I mean I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes; Teagan is a genius in writing romance books with so many extra elements you find yourself always putting her books on your very own To be Read list.
Thea is not the typical girl, she has her own style, she has no filter and she is a genius fixing cars, she knows her stuff since she was six years old. But in the relationship department… she is not quite lucky, her last relationship left her with a very hard rule: to guard her heart at all costs!! So she doesn’t do all that love thing…until she has to fake it.
Having a hot girl waving at you to come closer is not a signal you can ignore, so Sully took the leap, he got close to her and he found a one of a kind woman afraid of relationships; but apparently her family is everything for her so when she asks him to be her fake boyfriend he takes the offer, even against his better judgment…
This book was so good, it is steamy, funny, romantic in it’s own way!! This is the kind of reading I really enjoy and that totally gets me happy and giddy!!!
Can I say that I am so happy to read Sully’s story? Definitely yes!
The quiet but nonetheless soulful one who can speak his mind like no else would learn how it’s like to be struck by love.
When he could read anybody else, there was one person that he couldn’t and she was more than a handful, a bit wild and craziness in the air…and in a blink of an eye became her fake boyfriend.
Little did he know that this woman would make him feel more and that sometimes the unknown could be greater than anything. Sully and Thea were just a breath of fresh air, bold and a bit naughty all at once!
A slow burn filled with humour, sweet, and adorable with a strong hint of sassiness!
Sully… swoon, swoon, swoon!
Thea is fierce, independent and passionate about her work. Let just say that Sully was a great balance, a soothing effect with a powerful hint of sexiness and a surprising side of him I adored so much. It just reinforces my crush on this guy, who was such a mystery to me, as much to his friends who liked to keep things to himself but never stopping to tell the truth to people.
This side of cheesy was a delightful read, full of surprises about two characters who might have started a fake relationship but keeping real all along the way. I admit it; they frustrated the hell out me because they couldn’t see firsthand what was in front of them, so oblivious to the obvious.
Falling fast was as enticing as scary and these two needed to take that leap of faith.
Sully made me swoon so many times and Thea, that stubborn with no filter woman, was his perfect match.
The one he wasn’t expecting but needed anyway and the other way around. There were so many things to say, I loved that slide of love, le freaking sigh!
Definitely my favorite slice of the series.
When fate meets pizza, all bets are off!
This is the first book of this series that I have read by Teagan. Trust me that I have gone back to buy the previous books. The good news is that if you are like me you won’t feel lost in knowing who the characters are. This book reads as a stand alone, but does mention previous characters from this series that made me curious how their love stories played out.
We meet Sullivan (Sully), and Althea (Thea) who are the two main characters. Thea is a literal walking, talking contradiction. She is the girlies tomboy, and has struggled in dating due to her choice of a job. Sully has an intuition that has taught him to always have his gaurd up unless it is around the people he trusts most. When it comes to Thea, Sully can’t seem to get a read on her. All he knows is that she is fascinating. These two endup meeting by chance as she doesn’t want to face her ex, and he is a good man just stepping in to help. Just know that the rest happens from there. Teagan did a great job of the push and pull between these two characters. She also did a great job in exploring why they both have such high gaurds up. This is a great love story that has a perfect happy ending! Now to go back to start the series from the beginning 🙂
L-O-L fake dating romantic comedy!
Pretending to be her boyfriend for her brother’s wedding? Fine. Whatever.
Falling for her? Please. Like that will happen.
We have been waiting for what seems like forever for Sully’s book, and it does not disappoint! There is so much I loved about this one. It is definitely my favorite of the Slice series.
Thea is amazing. She is a tiny, adorable, 100% unfiltered mechanic who is succeeding in a male dominated industry. She’s been burned, though, and afraid to catch feelings again and get her heart broken again. Sully is just perfection. Three books of buildup were absolutely worth the payout here. I adored their relationship, their banter, and their chemistry. These two absolutely belong together. And while this is a standalone, each couple from the previous four books (and Simon, owner of Slice) appear often so there is a lot of fun interaction, dialogue, and shenanigans involved. But don’t worry, if for some wild reason you haven’t read the other books you absolutely won’t feel lost or like you’re missing something in this one. Although if you loved the novella A Slice of Love and want more Frankie and Jonas, Thea is Jonas’s sister and they are both in this book. Score!! I also loved Thea’s relationship with her family, both with her parents and with her brother. As an aside, I absolutely adore that lots of the parents in this author’s books have long marriages and they are still shown as happily in love and having healthy romantic lives.
I tried to pick out lines to highlight, but I couldn’t narrow it down and would basically be copying and pasting the entire book so instead I’ll just drop two of my favorite moments that made me laugh out loud: rock stuffed teddy bears, and chapter 13. Yes, the whole chapter. You will understand when you read this.
Such a great way to end a series. Thea and Sully are a match made in pizza heaven or not, as the case may be!!
I loved everything about this book and how it all ties together with the other books. I can’t wait to see what Mrs Hunter comes up with next.

Gah! Every slice in this series tastes a little better than the one before it! I enjoyed this book very much! We FINALLY get that inside look into the very mysterious Sully and get to love his quiet nature even more. He deserved his own story so much and I am so glad his voice came to life! He is smooth and quick witted and he loves with everything he is, and when he steps in to help out a complete stranger that throws him for a loop, his true self is certainly put to the test. Thea is nothing short of a wild storm. She is a girl after my own heart, a no filters, say it like it is and is not ashamed of who she is. when a bad situation from her past lingers on her conscience and causes her to doubt her self worth, she does everything she can to hide it from not only the ones she loves but herself most of all. What better way to do that then to hire a pretend boyfriend right? This story is a sweet and witty rom-com with tons of tender moments and a gaggle of laughs with the crazy Slice gang! You don’t want to miss this installment of the Slice series it will be sure to please the palate!
NO SPOILERS!
Cheesy on the Eyes has honestly been Teagan Hunter’s BEST, FUNNIEST, and SEXIEST romantic comedy to date, and I absolutely LOVED Sully and Thea’s story!
The storyline was excellent and so much better than I anticipated. I also loved Teagan Hunter’s prose and hilarious sense of humor. Sully and Thea’s journey was such a fun, sexy, swoon-worthy, and entertaining ride, and I couldn’t have loved it more. It was just what I needed. 🙂
The characters were superb, and I adored them with all my heart. Sully, Thea, their friends, and her family were absolutely fantastic. The personalities, the banter, the love, and the laughs amongst all of them were beyond amazing, and I loved every single second. Sully and Thea were especially exceptional, and I immediately fell head over heels in love with them. They were perfect for each other in every way, and it was a blast watching their romance unfold.
Teagan Hunter wove her magic and created absolute romcom PERFECTION with Cheesy on the Eyes! Sully and Thea’s sexy, hilarious, and swoon-worthy romance is NOT to be missed, and I can’t wait to devour whatever this author releases next!
CHEESY ON THE EYES IS MY FAVORITE BOOK IN THE SLICE SERIES! I was so sad to see that this would be the last book in the series, like I was almost dragging my feet to read it because I didn’t want it to end, but Teagan blew me out of the water with how amazing Thea & Sully are!
I want to be best friends with Thea! She’s so amazingly awkward and in your face. She embodied all of the classic snark that had me snorting more than I’d like to admit. And Sully….he is so adorable. I loved when these two were together because they had so much chemistry and I just wanted to keep reading about them.
I think Teagan ended this series in the best way possible! I’m already planning an entire series re-read!
For me, this book is the best of the Slice series. I’ve loved the other characters and stories in Teagan Hunter’s books, but Thea and Sully are something special.
I originally fell in love with Sully in Winston and Drew’s story while Sully was living with Winston. He seemed calm, quiet, and you could just tell he had a back story. This is finally his book.
Thea is still dating shy after being cheated on and dumped by her last boyfriend. Thea is a vibrant, quirky, personality. She’s a manager and mechanic at her Dad’s auto shop. She doesn’t typically have a filter so her thoughts just burst forth. Her self worth took a heck of a beating from her ex and she’s still reeling from that.
Thea pulls Sully into her life when her ex walks into Slice and she suddenly needs a boyfriend. Thea spots Sully and convinces him to fill that spot. What was supposed to be a one and done thing gets complicated as Thea needs a boyfriend to bring to her brother’s wedding in a month.
Thea talks Sully into keeping the fake boyfriend gig going until after the wedding, even though Sully isn’t comfortable with the idea.
As Thea and Sully spend more time in each other’s lives, the fake starts to leave the relationship and they are left with real feelings.
Teagan does a wonderful job of unwinding the fake and lies from Thea and Sully’s lives. She brings out a cautious personality in Sully. One who believes in his emotions and his goals, but is mistrustful of people. Thea begins to regain her confidence in her personal worth with Sully’s quiet and calm acceptance of her without questioning her.
Don’t think this book isn’t the rom com that you’ve come to expect from Teagan. This book will make you laugh out loud one page and a paragraph later you’ll “awww”.
Thea’s parents are a whole new level of #couplegoals. Married for over 30 years they still act like they’re newly weds. You realize pretty quickly that Thea and her mom share a lot of traits in common. Out of all the side characters, I really really want more of the Schwartz family.
Simon is still running herd in Slice and giving Winston, Foster, Porter and Sully a hard time. All the ladies appear in the story as well. I’ve missed Wren.
Overall this is a great summer book choice. It flows effortlessly. It balances light and dark perfectly and the characters just get better the further into the story you go.
Now. I suggest you take a chance on this book while I go see if Sully’s boat flag is available on Amazon.
Cheesy on the Eyes is my favorite book in the series! Sully is EVERYTHING I thought he would be and more. I was so curious about him from the first book. He’s to himself which isn’t a bad thing at all. Thea, fun spirited, sassy and her mouth is amazing. She tells it like it is. Teagan delivered with this book in a way I wasn’t expecting.
What happens when you break your rule, you don’t fall in love?
A outrageously entertaining, super delicious sexy romance with undeniable humor, wit, chemistry and fun times! I adored this story so much! It was the best escape and made it impossible not to smile.
Angst, passion, and so much heart was put into this story.
You’ve got the smart, sassy female who knows what she wants from life and the quite, soulful, broody hero ready to sweep the girl off her feet. The best part is the twist; who falls in love first?
Finally seeing into Sully’s head, learning about this mysterious character I’ve loved since the first Slice story. Also the returning favorites being just as wacky and hilarious as always. Then Thea, this strong willed female stuck in a bind, only wanting to please her family. I loved the dynamic of characters all intertwined from the hometown Pizza shop Slice.
I absolutely loved this story. I couldn’t put the book down! I wish I could rate this higher than 5 stars!
If there’s one word I could use to describe this authors writing, it’s fun.
Her characters are all cinnamon rolls (yes even Shep) and reading her books make me so happy. Like smile for the rest of the day happy.
And that’s what I’ll be doing for the rest of today. Because this books was so. Much. Fun. I’ve been waiting for Sully’s story since A Pizza My Heart and I was not disappointed in the slightest.
I have read nearly everything this author has put out and I’m never let down. This might be my favourite, nevertheless.
Still want more though. Sigh.
I recieved an ARC of this in behalf of the author and I volunteered to leave an unbiased review.
