Dating is hard. Dating in a small town? Impossible.Leave it to my little brother to come back home announcing he knocked up his fiancée and the wedding has been moved…to next month. When he tries to set me up with one of his football buddies, I tell him I’ll be bringing my own plus-one.Only problem? I’m hopelessly single.Enter Sullivan Scott, AKA my hero.We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my … hero.
We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my boyfriend, and I’ll use my mechanic skills to help him fix his boat. That’s it. No funny business, and definitely no feelings involved.
Sully’s quiet and reserved, and I’ve been told I’m too much to handle on a good day. We’re opposites, and neither of us is looking for anything serious.
I’m certain we can keep this strictly platonic…

Seriously. Seriously! Y’all don’t know how bad I’ve been jonesing for Sully’s story (hint: a lot). He’s always been this mysterious character that pops in and out like a perfect little magician. Well folks, he is magical. Sully and Thea together are perfect!! And can we say girl crush on Thea? Why yes, yes we can.
Teagan Hunter has a true gift to tell a story that has both heart & humor. Hers are books that I could read multiple times and never grow tired of. Her characters are real while being outrageous.
So grab a slice of humor, of heart, and of course, pizza, and get cozy with Sully and Thea!
Just when I thought I couldn’t love any of Teagan’s books anymore than I already do, she gives us Sully and Thea. Sully is now tied at #1 with Zach as my favorite. This story is amazing. I love how Thea is who she is and doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of her. And Sully (swoon), he is just a quirky, lovable, “soulful”, sweetheart. I adored seeing all the previous slice characters and of course our cameo of a special someone. The friendships they’ve built are what we all want in life. Thea and Sully are by far my favorite slice characters. I couldn’t stop laughing at Teagan’s one liners, she keeps me going when I need a smile. Everyone needs a little Teagan in their lives.
This book was everything I love about Teagan’s writing; the witty banter, the hot chemistry and the family bonds. This was a light and sexy read with lots of laugh out loud moments. Sully and Thea were fated to be together and I loved how they came together. They were the perfect fit and were soul mates through and through.
In the current state of the world fun and flirty is what I needed and Teagan’s books are the best kind of books to get lost in. I am a little sad to see all these characters go. This is a great group of people and I loved watching them all grow and find their happily ever after.
I look forward to seeing what comes next from Teagan and can’t wait to get lost in more laughs.
“That’s because of how he was looking at you.”
“And how was that?”
“Like his soul knew yours.”
It’s quite clear how much I absolutely adore Teagan, and this book clearly shows why. I’ve been wanting Sully’s story ever since we were first introduced — and dare I say it, but he is my absolute FAVORITE in the series! A hilarious meet cute at the pizzeria that has set the romantic tone for all our couples has our Sully baffled yet enamoured. He is so intuitive and soulful, so incredibly sweet and romantic.. he’s absolutely the perfect hero. When he loves, he loves fully and completely, and in the era of bully romances it is so refreshing to read about a man who is genuinely *good.*
Thea is also my favorite heroine of the series and probably my favorite this author has ever created. She absolutely dominated her predominately male job whom she loves, she has no filter which made for some truly hilarious conversations, she’s sassy, witty, strong, yet vulnerable and so relatable. She’s had her heart broken before and refuses to open up to another man like that in risk to another broken heart, so when she propositions Sully to be her fake boyfriend and date for her little brothers wedding, he reluctantly agrees. (I say reluctantly because he hates deceiving people, but he truly does adore Thea!) Whay starts as fake quickly turns into such a real friendship and epic love! These two are seriously the best!
Have I said enough that this is my favorite in the series? Because it is! The banter is so on point, their chemistry leaps off the page, their emotional connection and friendship is EVERYTHING, I adore how open and honest they always were with each other — this is Teagan at her very best!
Plus you get more of the gang and all their hilarious antics, plus Thea’s parents are amazeballs.
This is such a feel good book that left me with a permanent smile on my face and swooning so hard for their HEA. And check out this quote:
“Love her enough for the both of you until she’s not sacred anymore. Then love her some more.”
Seriously how perfect is that line? You’re totally swooning already, aren’t you? Well do yourselves a favor and one click this baby now!!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
Cheesy on the Eyes was such a fun, sweet, and enjoyable read. I think this is my favorite Teagan Hunter book to date, and it’s definitely my favorite of the ‘Slice’ series.
Thea has lived in the same small town all of her life. She runs the family business and has a pro football player for a brother. After a bad breakup, she’s been single. It’s hard to find someone in a small town. Then she meets Sully. Sully helps her out of a pickle and gets roped into being her fake boyfriend.
I have loved Sully since we first met him in earlier books. He is for sure the best hero of this series… sigh. He’s just so intuitive and amazing. Even though Sully and Thea were supposed to be fake and had rules in place to keep them that way, well… the rules were meant to be broken and they ended up falling for one another.
The fake dating troupe, if done right, is one of my absolute favorites. And it was done so right in this book! I loved that the fake dating turned into friendship, and then it turned friends to lovers. I adored both of these characters and their story. It was also great to catch up with the rest of the ‘Slice’ family. I’m sad that this series has come to an end. I’ve grown so attached to all these characters. But it went out with a bang and I couldn’t be happier.
This book is funny, it’s sexy, and it was just a blast to read. The ending felt just a bit rushed for me, but aside from that, it was pretty perfect. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic rom-com/fake dating romance!
Take the leap and fall!
This story? It has everything. Fake relationship. Humor. Heart. An engaging group of friends. And pizza.
I’m a sucker for a good fake relationship story. And Sully and Thea are just perfect.
What starts out as a ruse quickly turns into a friendship with a whole lot of tension brewing beneath the surface. There are rules and hard lines…but when these two tip over that line? Holy pepperoni pizza.
Thea is a total sassy badass. She says what she means and takes no crap from anyone. But underneath her tough exterior is a wounded heart afraid to take another leap. In need of a date to her brother’s wedding, she further enlists Sully’s help.
Sully is quiet and soulful. He can easily read people, but Thea is a complete mystery to him. She is a puzzle. One he is inexplicably drawn to.
There is so much humor in this book. I loved seeing our favorite Slice couples back in action. But my favorite supporting character has to be Simon, the owner of Slice. That poor man has to deal with all of these grown adults and their issues, and having the absolute worst timing.
This one had me laughing out loud and getting all choked up! Definitely my favorite of the series.
I absolutely love Sully and Thea. There absolutely perfect for each other. Fate definitely had a hand in getting these two together. Sully is awesome. He so caring and genuine about everything. He’s always been the hot, mysterious and quiet one. Thea’s sassy, sweet and very loving. Always saying what’s on her mind with no filter. She’d be the perfect best friend. I love this story. I’ve been waiting on Sully to get his story and Teagan definitely delivered. This is my second favorite of her books and I’ve read them all. Only second to Zach of course. I love how you added him in here subtly. I also loved seeing the team all together, getting to see how everyone’s doing. Sully’s book is the perfect ending to this series. Although I hope we get some updates from time to time. I definitely recommend this book. But I also recommend reading the whole series. Great book, great read, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I received a Advanced Readers Copy and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
4.5 stars
Cheesy on the Eyes is hands down my new favorite book in the Slice series!! This sweet, laugh out loud, fake dating rom com was so much fun. With it’s entertaining group of characters, witty dialogue and heartfelt moments, there was no putting this book down.
I adored Sully and Thea together. They had this instant ease to them. Their banter was on point and so natural. I couldn’t get enough of the snark and sarcasm.
Independently, these two are perfect. Thea is the girl you want to be best friends with. A sassy, no filter firecracker conquering a male dominated field. – I love that she’s a mechanic. She’s a mess of contradictions but that just made her more lovable. And her family is a hoot.
As for Sully, he’s just all soulful swoons. There was a mystery that surrounded him throughout the series when he was crashing on Winston’s couch. We finally get a deeper look into his past and y’all…I love him so much.
I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that Cheesy on the Eyes is the last book in the Slice series and that’s a bummer. This is a series you turn to if you’re looking for something light, fun and low angst. Teagan Hunter doesn’t disappoint.
IT’S OFFICIAL! Yep, that’s right, I am YELLING it for all to hear…This is my FAVORITE book in the Slice series and I adored every second of Sully and Thea’s journey. This story was hands down one of Teagan Hunter’s BEST romantic comedies to date and I couldn’t put it down because this story captivated my full attention from beginning to end, which really shouldn’t surprise me since she ALWAYS manages to do that to me with her words.
Cheesy on the Eyes was a sexy and hilarious romantic comedy that had me instantly swooning throughout their journey. The storyline was beautifully written and by the time you reach the end of this story, your sides are going to hurt from all those laugh out loud. Sully and Thea captured me wholeheartedly and I absolutely loved them and their bantering moments. They were perfect in every way possible and I instantly found myself falling head over heels in love with them. I mean come on, who doesn’t love a fake relationship that turns into TRUE LOVE.
Teagan Hunter you are one of my QUEENS of ROMCOM and I am loving the Slice series so freaking much! If you haven’t read her before, then you need to rectify that RIGHT NOW with this story or one of her other AMAZING stories! She is an extraordinarily talented author and I just know if you give her a chance, she will become one of your favorite authors…one of which you will stalk closely for details on her next release, even before reaching the end of her latest one!
What a fun and entertaining book! I really enjoyed this one so, so much. Right off the bat, the chemistry and banter between Thea and Sully is fire! I could read their banter all day long. Of course you have the rest of the pizza squad and it’s always fun when they’re in the mix. Definitely never a dull moment with them.
I’m still laughing over this book! Thea and Sullys banter had me smiling the entire time and I couldn’t help but love them. Even though this starts out as you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours type of thing everything after had me giggling. These two have some past baggage that keeps them fearful but they have no idea how much is about to change
Cheesy on the Eyes was such a fun read. Thea has lived in the same small town her whole life. When Sully helps her out of a jam, he gets roped into being her fake boyfriend. Even though Sully and Thea had rules in place to prevent anyone from getting too serious, well, what are rules except something to be broken? We met Sully in previous books and he is the best character of the series hands down. I love a good fake dating story and this one was done well. It’s light, funny, sexy, and was so much fun to read.
Oh Sully, Sully, Sully!! I just knew I was going to love you, but you weren’t what I was expecting. And Miss Thea, you were the perfect compliment to Mr. Sully. If you think they were ever “fake” dating then you so don’t know what love at first sight is! I loved these two together. They were the perfect match, his quiet to her loud, his insightfulness to her negative outlook at times. Can this “fake” dating couple make this relationship work for the long haul? You are going to have to pick this one up and find out for yourself. A bonus is a blast from this past, which I just loved reading!!! Thank you Teagan for another perfect slice!!!
Teagan Hunter is hands down, the Queen of romantic comedy!
Guys, I loved Sully and Thea! This book had me laughing out loud constantly. The connection and chemistry between Thea and Sully will have you hooked – I couldn’t put it down. And no worries about the steamy factor because theres lots of that too!
A Must Read!
So so sad to see this series finish, but it ended on such an amazing note. Sully and Thea’s story is my absolute favorite, now this isn’t saying much since with each of Teagan’s new releases it changes lol.
This can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the rest of the series it’s just to good not to.
Teagan is amazing at writing, her Rom Coms are laugh out loud funny, their absolute page turners and I love reading about the other characters from the series it’s like a little catch up as you get wrapped up in a new couple and new story.
Can’t wait to see what Teagan has in store for us next.
Thea is bold, brash and not only does she know it but she embraces it and this part of the reason why she is a successful mechanic. When she runs into her ex with his new girlfriend she is not about to be outdone so Sully becomes the right man in the wrong place when she pretends he is her boyfriend.
Sully is Thea’s opposite as he is laid back and takes whatever life thrown at him in a calm and casual manner. When Thea asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend for her brother’s upcoming wedding he is more than up to the task as he has been enchanted by Thea for a while.
What was supposed to be an arrangement with no danger of getting feelings involved has started to feel much different and they may just find out the only ones they are fooling are themselves.
The characters are captivating, their interactions are humorous and catching up with the other characters we know and love is always fun.
Let me preface this with that i think I’ve loved every one of Teagan’s male characters for their individual traits. But Sully might have usurped them all. He has always intrigued me thru Foster, Winston, and Porter’s books. So to hear that we were getting his story thrilled me to no end! Because he was the one guy that always left you curious about him. Him being all quiet and soulful should i say… and with this book we got to peel away the layers that made up Sully to see the guy he was underneath everything. Let’s all pick up our jaws at how much Sully surprised you with his bedroom antics. Like come on man killing me slowly and yes please can we have more of what happen at the shop!! Now lets talk Thea! Woah. I loved how she was making a name for herself being in a men dominated field such as auto mechanic!!! Like yessss girl get it and do it well! I loved her in the sliver of Slice of Love we got earlier in the year! She was a hoot and i knew i had to have a story for her. Can’t leave her hanging. I loved her and her special one abilities, seriously i could be best friends with her. I nearly spit out my drink many of times with the crap that came out her mouth. Literally howling. Which I’d expect no less from this author she is my go to with rom com’s and the humor thats right up my alley always. While i love the main characters. The side characters from past Slice books were missed and well welcomed back into the fold with this one. If anything they made the book even better. Because they are absolutely a riot all on their own but add the couples, Simon, and Thea’s parents its comedy gold! I loved that Jonas and Frankie even made an appearance. BEST SURPRISE EVER. I can’t wait for you to get all Cheesy in love with this addition to the Slice series.
I loved Teagan Hunter’s “Cheesy on the Eyes,” a super cute and funny fake relationship story. There was amazing chemistry between main characters Thea and Sully, and I enjoyed the slow burn of their relationship development until they finally gave into their attraction. After that, I couldn’t wait for them to quit pretending that their relationship was still fake because it was so obvious how perfect they were for each other. Both Sully and Thea had been hurt by people close to them in the past, so it was completely understandable for them to be scared to get into a new relationship. They shared those fears with each other rather than keeping them bottled up, which I appreciated, and in the end, they just needed to be brave enough to make a leap of faith together.
The banter between Thea and Sully was truly excellent and made me laugh so many times. I completely adored Thea, who was tough, independent, determined, and had no filter whatsoever. She let her true self shine through at all times, despite the fact that people had tried to make her feel bad about it in the past. Sully was a man of few words in most situations, but he didn’t let Thea get away with anything, and he was surprisingly good at dirty talk when the situation warranted.
The secondary characters in this book were also a tremendous amount of fun and added a lot of depth to the narrative. I particularly enjoyed Thea’s parents and their twisted sense of humor. Sully’s bromance with his friends was also hilarious and made me want to go back and read the earlier books in the series since his friends starred in those stories. It sounds like those guys really know how to have a good time!
This was the first book I’ve ever read by Teagan Hunter, but it certainly will not be the last. I look forward to seeing what she writes next!

This was definitely one of my favorites of the Slice books. I was excited for the mystery that is Sully. He’s been one of my favorite characters throughout the whole series. Sully is everyone’s favorite uncle and friend. I loved his relationship and patience with commitmentphobe Thea. Their sassy banter had me laughing out loud several times throughout the story. I also loved that we got to catch up with all our other Slice couples. This is definitely another one click worthy book by Teagan Hunter!
I am seriously wanting to slap myself for not picking up a book by Teagan Hunter before now because this book was hilarious! Between her hilarious parents, the guy who runs the pizza joint where this all kind of revolves around, and just the couples and all the characters, the dialogue had me laughing out loud so hard that I would have to stop and put my e-reader down while I laughed. Unfortunately I know I can’t include one of the most hilarious insults I’ve ever read because it probably would get flagged in a review on one of the big retailers, but oh my gosh, it has to do with a wrinkle on a certain body part, and I still can’t stop giggling when I think of that part.
The romance was perfect, as I said already, I loved the main characters. I like how “weird” Thea was, and how sensitive Sully was. Although while I get his issues with his dad, I also feel maybe we needed a bit more to make it as big a deal as he made it sometimes. I guess it was the small town bit maybe that made him not want to share his last name? It was a very common last name, so it’s not like she would have recognized it. I loved the twist at the end that I did not see coming, making the “meet-cute” actually even cuter. My only complaint, and the reason on my blog I’m marking it as 4.5 instead of 5 full stars is because I hate when people drag their feet about letting a fake relationship become real when it so obviously is. But that’s a personal issue.
Now I have to go back and read every other book in this series, not to mention that I’ve had another on my free or cheap e-book already downloaded list for a while that I need to read! And hey, have to give a shout out to the author because she is from Missouri originally, that’s my home!
