Dating is hard. Dating in a small town? Impossible.Leave it to my little brother to come back home announcing he knocked up his fiancée and the wedding has been moved…to next month. When he tries to set me up with one of his football buddies, I tell him I’ll be bringing my own plus-one.Only problem? I’m hopelessly single.Enter Sullivan Scott, AKA my hero.We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my … hero.
We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my boyfriend, and I’ll use my mechanic skills to help him fix his boat. That’s it. No funny business, and definitely no feelings involved.
Sully’s quiet and reserved, and I’ve been told I’m too much to handle on a good day. We’re opposites, and neither of us is looking for anything serious.
I’m certain we can keep this strictly platonic…

Sweet and funny, Cheesy on the Eyes by Teagan Hunter is an adorable fake dating romantic comedy that at moments had me in tears!
Thea Schwartz is this awesome chick who is sassy, outspoken, and loves to fix cars. One night at Slice, Thea gets Sully’s attention and pretends that he’s her boyfriend to avoid her ex and his new girlfriend. Soon, she convinces Sully to venture into a pretend relationship with her for her brother’s wedding. And this is when things get interesting, my friends.
Sullivan “Sully” Scott is charming with a killer smirk. He could read people’s auras like a book. It was strange as a child and kinda frightening but he grew into it as an adult. The moment he holds Thea’s hand he can’t deny the pull he feels. He doesn’t get close to people, so he doesn’t have to talk about who his father is and what his life was like growing up.
I must admit I have yet to read the series in its entirety. However, after reading this book I will be rectifying that ASAP as I’m really curious to formerly meet the beloved secondary characters as they find their happily ever after.
Teagan Hunter has once again written a humorously witty and sexy romance! Thea and Sully were perfect for one another and I couldn’t get enough of their banter!! What a great ending to a series!!
I have been waiting for sweet Sully’s book and holy crap did Teagan Hunter DELIVER for my man! Sully has hovered in the background for the first few books and I absolutely love that he got his time to shine. He’s the sweetest soul but so funny and loyal to those who deserve it. His relationship with Foster, Winston, and Porter was pure gold. The back and forth between those four was hilarious and throwing Simon into the mix made it even better.
As for Thea, I think she may be my all-time favorite Teagan Hunter heroine. She’s quirky and the sass is real with her. I also love that she doesn’t take crap from anyone, and she’s not afraid to tell you what she thinks. Her relationship with her entire family was beautiful and hilarious and the way they tease each other but are also each other’s fiercest protectors was seriously heart-warming to read.
Thea and Sully together are seriously the most imperfectly perfect couple ever.
They are so different, yet I felt like at their cores they were the same. Those two are for reals the definition of opposites attract and they rock it. They are both so true to themselves that they complement each other. They are my favorite Slice couple, and this without a doubt is one of my favorite series to date that I’ve read. I’m so sad that we are saying goodbye to the Slice world, but what a way to end it!
I have been in love with Sully since we first met him in the earlier books of this series and when I heard he was getting his own story I was so excited, and this did not disappoint. Sully is this laid-back surfer type guy that is very intuitive to those around him and everyone of his friends know him as having “freaky juju” when it comes to being able to read them. He is so laid back that he takes everything with ease except when we find out about his family and the pain it caused him. Thea is a hard worker that is who she is and makes no apologies for it, yet a bad breakup had her questioning if she was too much to handle for any man. She is mechanic, she is fierce, loud, and unapologetically herself, but she is scared to get back out there a risk having her heart hurt again. These two together should not work because they are total opposite of each other, but that is exactly why they work because they balance each other out. The ups and downs and laughter in this book was perfect and getting to see the other characters from the previous books is always fun because they all have a bond that is epic. I loved every character and I fell for Sully even more; he is my perfect guy.

Chapter 13
That was my draft while I was reading but I got so caught up in the book that I completely forgot to keep it going. It was such a fantastic read. It was just as good as all the others. I’m completely in love with Thea and Sully. Fate man, fate. Read the book. Read the series. You’ll be doing yourself a favor!!!
Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better, Teagan Hunter goes above and beyond and makes me fall even more in love with this series. This series continues to be an absolute favorite and I know that will never change. Sully and Thea are perfectly-imperfect perfection. I fell hard and fast for Sully and Thea. They were everything I wanted and didn’t know I needed.
Thea was EVERYTHING! The fact that she dominated a male-dominated profession and genuinely loves her job and doesn’t take crap from anyone. That she’s sassy and witty and has absolutely no filter. And that even though she is strong and stands up for what she believes in, but is still vulnerable and real, that is what makes her my favorite female character to date.
“We’re worth the risk.”
And Sully, goodness gracious this beautiful man. Soulful and kind describe Sully perfectly, but he is also so much more. He is funny, generous, loyal, and loving. He genuinely cares and it’s truly a sight to behold.
“Love her enough for the both of you until she’s not scared anymore. Then love her some more.”
Together Sully and Thea have to be one of my all-time favorite couples! The way they are around and with one another is just so real. They accept each other fully, they bring out the absolute best in one another, and they genuinely love and care for each other. Their banter is without a doubt one of my favorite things. They keep each other on their toes, they give and take, and together they are complete.
“Fate is that sure of us baby.”
No one writes feel-good stories like Teagan Hunter. Whenever I want a story that is going to make me smile and laugh, Teagan’s stories are my go to. This book is no different. From beginning to end I was absolutely hooked. I was laughing-out-loud and could not get rid of the genuine, full-blown smile on my face. Teagan stories bring happiness to my life in so many ways.
The Slice crew is without a doubt one of my favorites. Even though I am extremely sad to see this series come to an end, I know I always have their stories to go back and escape to.
Phenomenal!
Oh. My. God. I have the biggest girl crush ever on Thea!! This couple is hands down my favourite of Teagan’s! They were everything.
Thea was hilarious, & so unbelievably herself that I absolutely love her. Love her! I wish I could be best friends with her. Haha seriously I could go on & on.
Sully… ah sweet, soulful Sully. He’s every girls dream. The thing I loved about him was that there is more to him than meets the eye.
These two together were absolute fire. The chemistry & the back & forth made this book an absolute joy to read. You don’t want to miss out on this really really great read! It’ll have you giggling & fanning your face!
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
YES!! Finally Sully has his own adventure! This book was so good! I don’t think I have laughed so much recently while reading a book. I am not talking little giggles, i am talking laugh out loud moments that make others around you look at you like you are crazy. Sully and Thea are everything!!!
This slow burning book captured my heart. I love the type of guy Sully is. He is so sweet and caring and so easy to swoon after. Thea is strong, and feisty, and I love the type of lady she is, she is perfect for our hero. Their chemistry was seen from the start, I could feel it burning through them as they met. And who knew Sully liked to be a little demanding… I liked it a lot!
This author is definitely one of my favourite rom-com authors and I could devour her writing all day long. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next! I am going to miss Sully and the rest of the Slice crew, I plan on revisiting them all very soon!
Teagan is known for her rom-com abilities. This book rockets out of the sky! Puts her in a league of her own!
Sully and Thea are hilarious! More hilarious than I imagined they would be.
The story starts out innocent enough, ex walks in with new flavor of the day on his arm, of course Thea should just have someone pretend to be her boyfriend. What could go wrong with that?!? Hilariousness-that’s what!
The cheesy dad one liners are great! I laughed out loud so many times while reading. But the lines that aren’t cheesy are where it’s at. These lines are what make this a Teagan book.
“Love her enough for both of you until she’s not scared anymore. Then love her some more.”
Could that be anymore perfect?!?
I loved everyone being back in this book. I think I can say this is hands down my favorite of the series. Sully and Theas story was worth the wait. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I would start at the beginning because so much Amazingness is in all the books.
Teagan Hunter is a romcom master. Seriously. She consistently puts out books that not only make me laugh out loud, but also make me swear that I’ve just met my favorite MC’s that she has ever written. And Cheesy on the Eyes was no exception to those feelings. Sully and Thea will go down as two of my favorite characters of all time.
While Cheesy on the Eyes might not be the most unique story I’ve ever read, the world that is built around the characters definitely has a magic of its own. The friendships and the setting of the story are just another example of Hunter’s brilliance. She writes in a way that makes me wish I could crawl inside of her books and live there, because these characters feel real. They’re hilarious and relatable. They’re obnoxious in the most endearing way. And part of my soul refuses to believe that they’re not real people.
I definitely recommend reading this series in order, because despite the fact that the story is a stand alone, the book ties into all of the other characters in the series. Plus, I wouldn’t want you to miss out on another great love story like this one. Just have some tissues ready for the moments when you’re laughing so hard that you have tears rolling down your face. Because I can promise you that it’ll likely happen more than once.
I need a Dessert Pizza like now! Cheesy on the Eyes was one if my most anticipated reads this year. It did not disappoint. It made me laugh out loud, cry, and it made me so darn hungry. Seriously, this author has a way with words making your mouth salivate just thinking about the fictitious foods she creates.
This book is all about Sully. If you’ve read the others in the serious, which I suggest you do, then you know Sully. He is the strong, silent type with wisdom beyond his years. I loved reading his story and getting him to see him meet his match. Oh and what a match they make.
The heat in this book is amazing. The characters have a dynamic that leads to the chemistry flying off the pages. I loved each and every interaction with them. I also loved the writing style. The author did a great job balancing the serious notes with the humor while incorporating the rest of this world she created.
Overall, I cannot wait to see where this author goes next. I know it will be amazing!

Sully was as awesome as I knew he would be. He was sweet but at the same time had that air about him that made it to where you wanted to know everything that troubles him. Thea was great. She honestly spoke her mind, rocked a wrench and was just laid back and funny. She was perfect for Sully.
I loved seeing Sully and Thea get to know each other. It was funny to see them so candied with each other and not trying to impress the other one. They really just went with the flow and their romance bloomed naturally and I loved it. There was some push and pull from Thea but she really stepped up and I loved it.
Omg I loved Simon in this one. He had me cracking up so hard. Plus all the other guys and their crazy antics. It’s was great seeing a small look at their lives now. I also love how there were a great part of Sully’s life. He didn’t have the easiest childhood but with great friend around him he found a place he belonged. I loved the fake relationship theme to the book. It was funny and just worked really well for these characters. I feel like I’ve waited forever for Sully to get a book was I was not disappointed. 4 stars #2OCCJD
The mysterious Sully and Thea are complicated and really likable characters written with laugh-out-loud humor, intense attraction, angst, and FINALLY – plenty of hot steamy times. Teagan Hunter’s large cast of diverse, funny and interesting characters who revisit each story in the SLICE series help move this couple’s journey along in the best way to their HEA. I loved it and I can’t wait to read more by this author. Recommend.
Sully is my favorite out of all the guys . He was so mysterious in all the other books. Once him & Thea get together watch out for the coals of the fire between them smolder. I liked how Thea was mechanic & had her own goals in life .
Oh my, Sully!! I have been waiting for him since Wren and Foster’s story and he did not disappoint! So many layers to this guy! And Thea is just a badass! Another must read book from Teagan Hunter
Thea once again finds herself working after hours at Slice trying to get caught up on the managerial aspects of her mechanic shop when her ex-boyfriend and his new gf walks in. She immediately flags down the first man she sees and begs him to pretend to be her bf. She flags down Sully, the enigmatic bff of Winston (book 2 in this series). Sully is game to play along and as he does he is drawn to her and wants to see more of her. Fate would have it that Thea’s little brother is having a shotgun wedding and she needs a date. So she enlists Sully to continue to be her fake bf through the wedding. Can you see where this is heading?
Sully and Thea are my favorite Slice couple of all time. They were so much fun. I was laughing at their banter the entire book well until Thea made me cry but enough of that. And all of the previous couples and Thea’s parents made appearances and I was laughing out loud so dang much with this book. It was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time. Plus it didn’t hurt that their chemistry and steam was off the charts. Loved this one so hard.
Thea needs a date for her brother’s wedding so she ends up asking Sully who she just met. They start hanging out and become friends. Neither of them want a relationship but that doesn’t stop the feeling of attraction. Can Sully convince Thea to let go and start something? Great characters and storyline. Amazing book and a perfect ending.
While sitting in Slice enjoying her fries, Thea Schwartz can’t believe her eyes. Her ex comes in with his new girlfriend. Not wanting him to find out that she’s still single, she catches the eye of a stranger, and bam! Insta boyfriend. At least she’s able to get out of a drawn out conversation with the pair of bubble heads and get back to her work. Being a mechanic down in the shop has made Thea put her coveralls back on and get to fixing cars during the day, and getting the shops paperwork done in the evenings. She can’t go to a coffee shop because she’ll end up as round as she is tall with all the sweets offered, so she spends her time at Slice, because ewwww pizza!
Sullivan Sully Scott just happened to be enjoying a slice of pizza at his best friends’ father’s pizza place when the wild eye of a gorgeous female caught his attention. With nothing better to do at the moment, he steps in as her “boyfriend”. Being intuitive since he was a young child, he can sense her ex isn’t a good person, so he doesn’t mind stepping in for a bit. Plus, score! He got her number out of it.
After the fiasco in Slice with her ex, Thea finds out that her brother got his fiancée pregnant, and they’re now moving the wedding up. Bad news, she’s got to bring a plus one because she doesn’t want to be stuck at the loser’s table, or sitting with some of her brother’s teammates. Running into Sullivan again, he agrees to be her plus one, and he’s going to play her “boyfriend” at all the different functions. Now, they’ve just got to be able to fake it enough that her family thinks they’re a real couple, while not getting their actual feelings involved.
I have absolutely loved the Slice series by Ms. Hunter. With great writing, wonderful characters, sweet yet snarky story lines, and an amazing world, I think that if you’re a fan of rom-com’s you’d love them all. I’m definitely going to miss this world!

A lovely read full of banter. Both Thea and Sullivan are slightly damaged and neither is looking for love. What do yo do when fate decides otherwise…….
The series is ending, but what a way to go.
I love fake dating romances. We all know that it isn’t going to remain fake, but it’s still fun to go along for the ride.
The best thing about this particular fake dating scenario is the way it comes about. It is not your typical best friend, brother/sister’s best friend, etc… set up. How could it be with Thea being involved. She has to be one of the most refreshing heroines I’ve read in a minute. She is funny, has no idea what a filter is, so she says whatever comes to mind, and she is completely unpredictable. She is the perfect mate for our Sully.
If you’ve been following the series from the beginning, you already know what type of man Sully is, but what you didn’t know is his background. We get it all here and more.
I laughed, and at times had to fan myself. I will truly miss the gang of Slice.
Absolutely loved this story. Just like the rest of the series its swoon worthy mixed with hilarious relatable characters. Sullivan might be my favourite – I actually fell in love with him in the last book when he was so good with that baby. Read it, you won’t be disappointed
