Dating is hard. Dating in a small town? Impossible.Leave it to my little brother to come back home announcing he knocked up his fiancée and the wedding has been moved…to next month. When he tries to set me up with one of his football buddies, I tell him I’ll be bringing my own plus-one.Only problem? I’m hopelessly single.Enter Sullivan Scott, AKA my hero.We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my … hero.
We strike a deal: he’ll pretend to be my boyfriend, and I’ll use my mechanic skills to help him fix his boat. That’s it. No funny business, and definitely no feelings involved.
Sully’s quiet and reserved, and I’ve been told I’m too much to handle on a good day. We’re opposites, and neither of us is looking for anything serious.
I’m certain we can keep this strictly platonic…

This is the 5th book in this phenomenal series, and this is Thea and Sully’s story. When Thea’s brother is getting married, she decides to get her own plus one date instead of her brother interfering, and she strikes a deal with Sully. These two are total opposites but what a perfect couple they are. This is a fantastic story which is filled with fun, witty banter, crazy shenanigans and is an all-round humorous and entertaining story. I was hooked throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all.
This is my favorite Slice book. It has everything you’d want in a romcom. The delicious slow burn that had me (almost) pulling my hair out with the chemistry Sully and Thea had. The banter was hilarious and on point. I loved that the “old” couples shows up to stir the “crazy” some more.
Sully really is a dream guy. His easy-going, laid-back personality mixed with just the right touch of alpha tendencies was swoony and hot. And Thea is my soul-sister. I don’t have enough word to describe how much I loved her when she finally came to her senses and went after what she wanted – Sully.
Even though I’m sitting here with a huge smile on my face I’m a bit sad to see these group of friends and family go. So I’m hoping Teagan will bring new couple to fall in love with and fast because the withdrawal is going to be painful … #nopressure

I snapped up Cheesy on the Eyes with much anticipation, because I’ve been intrigued with Sully since we were first introduced to him in the Slice series!
And, I have to say, I adored everything about the mysterious Sullivan! He’s loyal and thoughtful, has an amazing sense of humor and has a soulful quality to him that cannot be matched. And, I really enjoyed that he was paired with Thea . . . who is loud, lacks a filter at times, independent and marches to the beat of her own drum. They were simply a fabulous opposites attract couple!
What starts as a fake romance quickly starts to feel very real the more time they spend together and I loved every second of watching this couple fall in love, even if they made a deal not to.
All of your favorite Slice couples also make an appearance in this book and remind readers why they fell in love with Simon and Slice in the first place. 5 Stars!
I love Teagan’s writing, I love this story and I love these characters. I was so excited to find out Sully was getting a story. I fell for him the moment he was introduced in the previous books and Cheesy on the Eyes made me love him even more. I couldn’t put this one down!
Thea is amazing. She is a woman working in a male dominated industry and she doesn’t care. She loves being a mechanic, even if it does have a negative effect on her relationships. She is kind of awkward at times, but that makes her relatable. Sully is amazing and brilliant, he is good at reading people. He spots Thea and realizes she needs some help, so he jumps right in….of course, that first meeting is the start of a wild ride.
I love the chemistry between Thea and Sully. Their banter was great and had me laughing so many times. Reading about them getting to know each other was great, of course, there were a few steamy scenes.
I loved getting plenty of the characters in previous books, too. It was great to see some hilarious interactions between this crew. Their friendships and bonds were perfect and added to this overall story.
Cheesy on the Eyes is a MUST READ fake dating rom com that you won’t be able to put down.
Our rom-com queen delivers on a delightful story that I ravenously devoured. Clearly my soul needed the laughter, the charm, and the deliciousness that Teagan always delivers. This was a humorous breath of fresh air amidst my more angsty, drama-filled “fake-to-real-romance” read- and I was laughing out loud through most of the book.
While I’ve not read the entire series (although after this I want to read the books I haven’t!), I can say that of the books I’ve read, Sully is my favorite of all her books. What a dreamboat- and so much more than what we saw of him in the earlier books. Nuanced, layered, he’s so endearing. And him and Thea are adorable- the sweetness, the humorous banter, their quirks, their tentativeness, all just so perfect. I was so invested in the steady progression of their tale- strangers to friendship to something more, and I really related to Thea (even her dislike of pizza! Small town limited options life!). The chemistry was developed and thoughtful and so hot.
Thanks, Teagan, for some heart-lifting medicine in the form of this delightful read!
First of all, I’ve been waiting for Sully’s book since we were first introduced to him and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint! (Not that I ever expected it would. I mean, Hello! It was written by Teagan Hunter!)
Secondly, Thea is AMAZING! She completely unashamed of who she is and she flaunts it! I wish I could be half as confident as she is! I loved her snarky remarks and quick comebacks. I love how she’s so perfectly human and easily relatable. And her love of sweets? SPOT ON!
Then there’s Sully. Every girl’s dream guy. Gentleman in the streets and freak in the sheets. LOL. He’s seriously like the perfect man for Thea too. He kind, caring, compassionate, but also knows when to take charge and he’s not afraid of showing his emotions to those that matter. He has a past, but he doesn’t let that affect who he is as a person. At least not in a bad way.
I think the playful banter and the back and forth between these two is the best I’ve seen yet. I found myself laughing out loud so many times, sometimes until my stomach hurt from laughing so hard. This story was the perfect mixture of steam and romance, with so many swoon-worthy and ‘aww’ moments that had me clutching my chest with tears in my eyes.
I don’t think I could love this story anymore than I do. It was perfect and just what I needed to get me out of my reading slump!
Amazing 5 out of 5 stars!!! <3
My romantic heart is happy to finally have Sully’s story. He’s been such a mystery so far in this series so I was eager for the chance to really get to know him. I’ve loved all the characters from the previous books, but Sully is my fave. He’s not just the whole pizza pie, he’s the dessert pizza!
We go once again to a quaint coastal town and the pizzeria, Slice, a favorite of locals and tourists alike. Thea Schwartz likes Slice as her place to catch up on paperwork for the automotive garage she runs with her father, but she especially loves the aroma. Mmm, pizza. Something she’s never liked, so there’s no temptation.
Sacrilege right? Aside from being the only person in the universe who doesn’t like pizza, Thea is a no-nonsense gal — all straightforward and tough, living life out loud and without a filter. What most people don’t know is that she’s really a great big scaredy cat inside. When it comes to love, that is. So when she needs a fake boyfriend for her brother’s wedding, there will be no feelings involved. Zip. Zero. Nada.
After rescuing Thea from facing her ex and his new arm candy alone at Slice one day, Sully is intrigued and agrees to fake date Thea. But Thea just may be in over her head with Sully. He’s the strong, silent type, which you always have to look out for. Of course, he’s handsome and all manly man, but there are depths full of emotion with this guy that he reveals to very few. Not even his bros, when they accidentally wander into the feels on a rare occasion that can likely be blamed tequila.
Once again, this crafty indie author had me laughing out loud while taking me on the best kind of emotional ride. With delightfully engaging characters, a bromance to beat all bromances, plenty of laughs and a nice dose of steam, this fantastic, humorous, touching romcom is absolutely one not to be missed!
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.
This has been my favorite book so far in the Slice series. I absolutely adored this book. Teagan Hunter has got this romcom thing down pat.
Teagan Hunter has a great writing voice. Her narration is smooth and it invites the reader in. She effortlessly weaves in humor and emotion to really hook you into the story. I love her witty lines and her way of tacking amusement into her stories. I enjoyed the plot of this book very much. It is a classic tale of a person that has been hurt that pushes people away for fear of getting hurt again. I really loved Hunter’s spin on this type of story. The book was addicting and I was devouring the pages like they were candy. (Much like our sweet tooth of a main character, Thea.)
These characters were really written beautifully. There wasn’t a single thing that I disliked about them. They were completely likable and relatable. I had no problem slipping into their lives. Both Sully and Thea had excellent character development and growth. I loved seeing all the characters from the previous books in the series. This is really an amazing cast of secondary characters that add so much depth and spark to the story.
The romance was developed so well in this book. The romance starts off as a fake relationship and we all know how those end, am I right? I loved that Sully and Thea had this easy way with one another that was effortless. I liked their instant chemistry from the very first time they met. Their connection with one another could have been seen from space. I loved the slow-burn of the romance as Sully and Thea get to know one another.
Overall, this book ticked off all the boxes on the things that I love in a good romantic comedy. Characters that I truly became passionate about, a plot that kept things interesting and fun, and a romance that was written in the stars. This is such a great series and one that I wholeheartedly recommend.
I could not put this book down! I read this book in one sitting! It had me laughing out loud! I have been waiting for Sully’s book for so long and it didn’t disappoint! I loved Thea and Sully so much! The banter in this book will have you laughing for days! Also I loved that you got a little bit more of everyone else in the series, but it didn’t take away from Thea and Sully’s story! I was left with wanting more, but in a good way! I didn’t want the book to end! I would most definitely recommend this book and series!!
Received an arc for an honest review
Stop what you’re doing and get this book. If fake boyfriend stories is your favorite trope, you will want to add this book to your list. If it’s not your favorite trope I can promise you this one will give you all the feels and make you change your mind. This was a slow burn for me and I loved it. I enjoyed being able to see the development of their relationship from two complete strangers posing as boy/girlfriend to real feelings and how it didn’t actually all start that special day in Slice. We learn why Sully is so quiet and reserved, and why Thea has a hard time giving love a chance. The banter between the two is perfection and left me laughing out loud many times. Throw in the rest of the gang and you have one hell of a book. I love this group of friends and wish they were real and that I was a part of their circle. I love Teagan’s books because I am always left with a happy heart, smile on my face, and fictional friends I can always go back and visit.
This book is a fabulous book that I highly recommend. This book is part of the Slice Series and everyone should read them. This is a romance book and a real opposites attract romance and the way that this author writes is fantastic and you wont be able to put her books down and this is no different, your hooked on Thea and Sully’s story.
This book is an amazing Rom Com and I thought that the author knocked it out of the park with this book. This book Is a real laugh out loud romance book and I highly recommend that everyone reads it.
Sully is such a good decent guy who is very sweet and loyal that he will do anything for the people he loves. He is quite laid back and is quiet and he’s also funny to.
Thea is a mechanic and is also a great gal who is very confident in herself and she sticks up for herself. She is definitely not afraid to say things how it is which I love about her. But she has a soft side to her and she is afraid of getting her heart broken after she has just got hurt. But Thea needs Sully’s help, pretending, what could possibly go wrong?
They both make a deal to help each other out thinking its as easy as that, but it never is. When feelings develop between them both they didn’t embrace them straight away.
( NO SPOILERS )
These characters have great banter together and awesome chemistry that they cant deny and they are perfect together so funny. This book will have you feeling everything and I feel that this author did a fantastic job at balancing the ups and downs perfectly. This author has written her characters in all this aeries so great that you wish they were real. This book can be read as a stand alone but the characters from the other books make an appearance and I think it would be better to read them in order but that’s just me. Thank you to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read and early copy of this book. ARC provided in exchange for a complimentary honest review. This is a beautifully written funny romantic comedy book that I highly recommend and is a total must read.
This book is expected to be released on 4th June 2020.
You would think that this being the fifth book that it wouldn’t have the same impact as the previous books, but for me it was the best one in the series. Fantastic way to say goodbye to everyone at Slice Pizzeria and the gang that frequent there.
This fake relationship romance has everything I want in a rom com. Plenty of humor, strong chemistry and delectable romance. The reason for them being in this phony coupling starts out by Thea not wanting to look pathetic when her ex boyfriend comes into Slice. Sullivan saves the day and Thea’s dignity. A few days later, he again comes to the rescue and doesn’t blow Thea’s cover to her family of him being her boyfriend and becomes her plus one to her brothers wedding. They set about getting to know each other so they can pull off this ruse and also make up some rules for their liaison. The main rule is, don’t fall in love with the other. Oops.
Who did I love the most out of Sully and Thea, I’m still deciding because I adored them both for different reasons. Thea was a little sassy and very witty but also she spoke her mind. Not too far that it was rude but enough to know exactly what she was thinking. Either it was because Sully had friends with the same disposition or he gravitated to this type of crazy anyway but nothing Thea did or said scared him in the least. It was the more the merrier as far as he was concerned. His laid back attitude counteracted to Thea’s wackiness and it made for a perfect connection. It was sad to say goodbye but I was happy with it ending here on a most positive high.
5 Stars
I loved Sully’s story!!
Sully and Thea have lived in the same town for years but have never met… that they can remember.
When Thea needs help she recruits Sully and things from then on get blurry.
You need to read this series especially this book “fate is that sure of us baby”
Oh, Teagan! What did you do to my heart? You know how much I love Shep. I was getting a little nervous thinking Sully was taking his spot.
The book was CHEESY GOOD. Where to start Sully is everything you need and more. He has such a beautiful soul. I just can’t stop thinking about it. By the way, it’s 3:30 am. I couldn’t put the book down.
Thea, she’s a bad b**** in a very powerful way. Shes our Modern Woman. I love that she is who she is and unapologetic. Seeing a woman character like this made this book even more amazing.
Teagan keep kicking butt (you know I had to say butt stuff) You are amazing and your writing is on another level of greatness. I loved this series even though I didn’t want it to end. I HAVE ONE REQUEST we need updates on their lives. Maybe a mini book or something.
Cheesy on the Eyes is the absolute best romantic comedy story that made me smile so much as I was reading!
Thea and Sully are a match made in pizza heaven or not, as the case may be!! Hands down it made my absolute week!
Thea has absolutely no filter when she says anything and I really want to be her friend! Sully though, is the quiet but rather wonderful man, who I couldn’t help but love! He was charming, funny, rather intense but also endearing!
I loved the witty banter, the amazing friendships and the emotions this beautiful story brought out in me! What happens when pretending becomes the possibility of more? Do you run or take the leap? Does fate have its hand in the pot??? So well worth reading!
Fun, entertaining and sizzling chemistry and characters that you really want to be real!! Don’t forget pizza, who doesn’t love pizza??? Grab this amazing book for a delicious, witty ride!!
