I have to focus on freeing myself… but she’s all I see.I never wanted the throne. I just wanted a normal life. Free to do what I want. Who I want.Luckily, I discovered a secret–and a loophole. Turns out I have a long-lost brother. All I have to do is track him down and make him the prince. A kingdom is what everyone secretly wishes they had instead of a job, right? Everyone but me.The clock is … but me.
The clock is ticking, and the last thing I have time for is cleaning up behind my sexy, accident-prone new neighbor. She’s everything I don’t want but can’t seem to stop thinking about. The fact that she’s spoken for shouldn’t make me so furious.
She can be my friend, but nothing more.
I can’t touch her. Can’t kiss her. Can’t fantasize about all the things I could do with her. To her.
And most of all, I can’t let her find out who I am.
(This is Book 1 in the Royals Undercover duet.)

A sexy fairy tale of a wayward prince and his new-to-her job palace guard. Secrets, laughs and plenty of sweet chemistry abound in this stunning royal romance!
This is a bodyguard romance in reverse and I love EVERY MINUTE OF IT. The heroine is a member of the Royal Guard, sent to retrieve a cocky prince on walkabout and bring him home to resume his duties. Secret identities and sexytimes. (Book 1 of a 2 book story — Book 2 is Cheeky King.)
Love to read about missing royals and how one falls for a “normal” person. Best beach read of the year! So funny and heart-warming at the same time. I couldn’t read it fast enough and there’s a follow up to the story, so it’s a win-win!
Penny and Sebastian’s story is such a sweet and swoony story with steamy scenes and just a twist, I couldn’t let it go and then the end came and now I need book 2, I heard the audiobook and let me say, both narrators Andi Arndt and Shane East did a phenomenal job, I know this duo is fantastic always, but they did both characters one of the best characterizations they could do. I enjoyed it more than reading it on paper.
This is the book that made me fall in love with Nana Malone’s writing style. Her humor combined with the way she writes characters you can’t help but love without makes her books incredibly special.
I adore the universe she has created. And the way she writes makes you crave the next book. Highly recommend you read her books!
My first read by Nan Malone and I was sucked right on in! Her love of romance and adventure really shine through in this book! May we be so lucky to find our own Prince Charming! I must say…..one hell of cliffhanger!
Royal romances are one of my favorite things, and Nana Malone puts a fresh face on the genre with Cheeky Royal! I started it before bed and stayed up way too late to finish this hot, hilarious, and heart-warming story of choosing between what we want, and what we need. Eagerly awaiting Cheeky King, next!
Cinq étoiles royales. Ce livre est définitivement parfait pour les lecteurs qui recherchent la romance légère, amusante et angoissante.
Holy cow! Cheeky Royal by Nana Malone is absolutely-freaking-awesome! Wow! I’m speechless! There are not enough words to describe how much I love this book. Everything screams perfection: from the beginning to the end. It is a masterpiece brilliantly written. Nana Malone is amazingly talented. Her pen is too versatile. She can write a book of any genre and I will read it because her talent never disappoints me. She can write her to-do-list and I will read it (lol).
The pace is fast. The plot is smoothly refreshing. This book reminds me so much of the Princess Diaries movies but in this case there is a Prince instead of a Princess. I am a fan of Royal Romances and this book has all the elements that made me enjoy it gratefully. This book is priceless. It worth every minute I spent reading it. Books like this made me feel incredibly lost in the depth of the story.
There is something unique about this book that left me wanting more. It is like a drug: too intense and extremely addictive. Nana Malone delivers a pretty and tempting book. Her characters are strong and well developed. She has gifted us one of the cockiest Princes.
Sebastian is not only a handsome face with a sinful body. He is clever and too talented: not only in bed but also with his camera. His entire life has been easy but his responsibilities have increased since he is the “only” eligible Royal to take over the throne in case the King, his father, dies. He is temptation personified. Every woman wants a piece of him because being with him means that they could become a Princess.
Sebastian is the re-definition of a Charming Prince. Bad girls, like me, need a tempting Pince who knows how to please a woman. And Sebastian is the perfect candidate.
The heroine of this book is perfect. She is fierce and independent. She is not a damsel in distress. She can kick anybody’s ass because of her training. To be part of the Royal Guard is in her blood but her true dream is the art. Feeling like she doesn’t belong to the Royal Guard she will accept to protect Sebastian and bring him back home to prove her father her value, to prove herself she is capable of doing her job because she wants her father to be proud of her.
Len and Sebastian have to many things in common. They are a match made in heaven but they came from different worlds. He is a Royal. She is a Commoner. Sebastian wants to be free from his duty. His happiness is not in the throne. There is only one exit and he will take it as soon as possible. As Sebastian, Len also wants to be free to do what she really wants. She was sent to protect the Prince and she forgot to protect her heart from falling for an impossible. Sebastian and Len’s worlds don’t mix. Len should have kept her distance but the attraction was explosive. Falling into the temptation was easy and the consequences were dammed until the lies bite them.
This book can sound a little cliché but it doesn’t. The story line is refreshing and all-consuming. It has funny moments that will make you laugh. It has angsty moments that will have you at the edge of your sit. It is completely overwhelming. This book is definitely perfect for those readers who crave light, funny and angsty romance. I highly recommend you this book. I can’t wait to read the following book in the series. The end of this book left me with a big “o” on my mouth. Five stars are not enough for this book. It deserves billions. Let Sebastian conquer your mind and heart. Be prepared for a stunning story that will have you drooling over a cheeky Prince worth of your heart.
OMG this couple slayed me. So many emotions, dammit. This story encompassed a full spectrum of feelings; sweet, quirky, obligation, distrust and lust, oh so HOT!. The slow burn and the constant interruptions led to a mindblowing crescendo only to crash and burn as we knew it would. The King wants his son to come home, but Prince Sebastian is being elusive, so the King sends a member of the Royal Guard to get close to him and convince him to go home. The only problem is, the King assigned adorkable Penny (Len) to the task. Neither one expected the attraction to be off the charts. Can they keep their focus and complete what they set out to do?
Nana Malone delivers royal-worthy chemistry in a snappy, page-turning package. Penny and Prince Sebastian are everything! Give us the next book now!
I spent this past weekend with a Royal. . . Well a book about a Royal. Cheeky Royal by @nanamalonewriter was a book that was impossible to put down. I was so engrossed in this book. What a well written love story. Cheeky Royal brought all the feels and then some.

absolutely the best book in the series, mild drama, but Penny (aka Len) & Sebastian are great, wish we would have had a wedding scene though
I love books about Royals and this was a great one! Sebastian and Penelope have mind blowing chemistry that could not be denied. There are secrets and lies, suspense and a whole lot of heat! They have wonderful, playful banter and the characters are great. It does end in a cliff hanger, but I am so looking forward to the next book in the series. Definitely loved this read!
I loved the characters in this story. Both of the main characters are quite lovable in their own unique way. The storyline is filled with witty dialogue, fantastic scenes and a palpable chemistry. It was a very engaging and entertaining read.
Loved this whole series.
You have to read the second book to get to the HEA.. some parts slow going.
5 Star review of Cheeky Royal (Royals Undercover #1) by Nana Malone
Audio Review:
I know that this is hard to believe but this is the first book I have read or listened to from Nana Malone but Cheeky Royal was a great book to be my first.
The first thing you need to know is that this ends in a cliff hanger which I didn’t know so you have been warned. This is book one in the Royals Undercover duet and it was entertaining and addictive.
Sebastian is a prince who does not want to be king and in an effort to change his future he has gone looking for an alternate. However what transpires is a story that will have you on the edge of your seat as narrators Shane East and Andi Arndt bring to life this exciting story by Ms. Malone. Penny is a royal guard, along with her best friend Ariel to back her up, she is tasked by the king, to guard and protect the prince without his knowledge.
When circumstances bring them together, the sparks fly and the attraction and chemistry that lies between them sizzles. Shane East is a favourite of mine and he certainly did justice to the character. Sebastian is totally swoon worthy as is the voice of Shane East and he was perfectly cast for this role.
The secondary characters were just as engaging and I cannot wait to see how this story pans out.
Can Penny keep Sebastian safe and protect him from the enemies that surround him? What will happen when the truth is revealed?
This was such a fun story. Penny is probably the worse at her job, which makes her the perfect candidate to locate and follow her charge—who happens to be next in line for the throne. I love her so much. Her mishaps are hilarious, and I love how she struggled with her job and the secrecy of it. I’ll be honest, her reason for accepting the assignment had me scouring the internet for information of a book for a certain couple, I didn’t find it *insert sad face* if you’ve read/ listened to the book, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.
Sebastian is a prince on a mission, he doesn’t want the throne and knows just how to get out of it. But that means avoiding his family and guards. He needs to blend in and become the guy next door—and he does, quite literally. He is so charming, I fell in love with him pretty early on. The reformed playboy is always a fun storyline. The way he was with Len was so cute. I loved their interactions. The sexual tension was off the charts. And once they got together—fireworks! This book is fun and sexy and sweet, with a dose of intrigue and suspense. This is book one of two, so I was prepared for the cliffhanger, and good job too because I would have been wanting to throw something lol. A must read/ listen. I already have book two queued up.
Andi Arndt and Shane East perform this book and do so in their usual top-notch way. They always deliver first class performances and make me feel all the emotions that the characters are feeling. Their voices complement each other well. And the production is brilliant. The only issue I had, and it’s just a personal taste thing, is that I was a little distracted by the mixture of accents—it didn’t feel consistent. Hence the distraction. It wasn’t enough of a issue to stop listening or to stop me wanting to listen to the next book, but enough for it to require a mention.
Audio Review
Book one in the Royals Undercover Duet and you do need to be aware this story ends on one heck of a cliffhanger, one that I did not see coming …..
Andi Arndt and Shane East did a fantastic job bringing the story and the characters to life, they had me hook, line and sinker from the very first page, from the moment their first lines were spoken.
Sebastian doesn’t enjoy life as a Royal so he is trying to run and hide from his responsibility as the prince who is next in line for the throne. Looking to live life how he wants to he sets out to track down his long list brother. Penny has been requested by the King to keep an eye on Sebastian while he is in New York, she is meant to watch him and report back not fall in love ……
This story ticked all my boxes, it’s well written, well narrated, great characters with sizzling chemistry and witty banter and what a lot that cliffhanger !!!! That’s all I’m going to say because you need to read or listen without any preconceived ideas to really enjoy this great story.
Sebastian is trying to run and hide from his responsibility of being a prince and becoming a king. Wanting to just do his own thing and enjoy his photography he sets out to find his long-lost brother. Upon meeting his new neighbour he realizes that he is in trouble as he starts falling for her. Penny is requested by the king to head to New York and keep an eye on Sebastian but does not let him know who she is. Trying to keep up the ruse and keep her identity a secret she falls for Sebastian more then she did before she took the job. Keeping secrets always find a way of coming out.
Cheeky Prince is an edge of your seat, page-turning romantic suspense. This was my first Nana Malone book and will not be my last as the minute I finished this I picked up Cheeky King to see how the story ends. The cliff hanger at the end of this book is a total OMG moment. I am not huge on cliff hangers as I do not have the patients to wait for the next book but when they are written well, like this one, they make you eager for the next book. I loved the banter and sexual tension between Sebastian and Penny and was happy when they finally gave in to each other. I can not wait to see how this story ends in Cheeky King.
This was also my first audiobook narrated by Shane East and I truly enjoyed his voice. He really captured who Sebastian is and made me feel like Sebastian is a real person. Andi Arndt was the first female narrator I had listened to and is one of my favourite narrators. She always does a great job and truly gets into the character.
