It should have been so simple. So clear. One at the top, three beneath him.But nothing is clear anymore. After two years living their lives together Alexander White has become distant and withdrawn, his mind a turmoil of unanswered questions, and the other three are broken because of it. Lost and left wanting. Well, two are. Lilah James doesn’t give a damn, other than ensuring Pascal Van Der Braack … Pascal Van Der Braack is adequately provided for. Unfortunately, he’s not being looked after at all, which means chaos and mischief could ensue at any given moment.
Always worrisome.
And when a rather royal problem comes to tarnish the already broken, something that none of them know how to deal with, whatever structure they had is suddenly unable to carry on.
Becoming a four in love brought its own battles.
Staying as four might break them all.
Author Note:
This book should be read after The White Trilogy and The VDB Trilogy for full reader gratification.

I am absolutely loving this duet. It must be said that readers will need to read both The White and VDB trilogies before starting Check in order to fully understand the history surrounding the four individuals who have leading roles in this duet. Once you have finished Check there is a second book titled Mate which I believe will conclude the series, and although I’m excited to discover what happens next, I’m rather dreading saying goodbye to Alex, Pascal, Beth and Lilah.
Check has been an incredible story to read. The book has been perfectly penned giving us all four character’s perspectives. Seeing how their complex lives have progressed since the conclusion of the VDB trilogy has been intriguing, insightful and quite unexpected too.
I adore Alexander White. Even when I despise him, I can’t help but love him too. I totally understand Beth’s current feelings towards the man and I am looking forward to seeing how that particular storyline unfolds. I cannot deny that have a girl crush on Lilah…. she’s amazing!!
As always there is lots going on with all the leading characters in this series, and I’ve loved witnessing every moment – even though there have been times when my heart has hurt.
Charlotte E. Hart never disappoints! I thoroughly enjoy reading her words. Check has everything I come to expect from a novel written by this author – kink, intrigue, passion, love, secrets, truths, pain and angst. I highly recommend this book to you to read, but please start this series at the very beginning which is the novel titled Seeing White.
Ah, Pascal is back! His world is a bit out of his control at the moment. Lilah, Elizabeth and dear Alexander are not the same after two years of their unique relationships. Alexander is not himself, leaving Beth and Pascal questioning what is happening in their own way. The perspective from each character’s POV makes it even more intriguing. You have to have read the other books in the series (The White Trilogy & The VDB Trilogy) to fully understand the deep connections these people have to each other. These rivers run deep. And kinky. And hotter than the sun. Not for the faint of heart as there are some serious levels of depravity going on. Stellar writing again from Charlotte E. Hart, who has made me so happy with this new duet.
Rarely do you find an author that is gifted enough to write from four POVs and manage to be completely faithful to each individual’s personality and voice. Charlotte Hart is one of those writers. I absolutely love this series. Alexander White is one of my favorite characters of all time. I simply can’t get enough of that gorgeous, twisted, son of a bi… Then add in the rest of the wonderfully colorful characters and you have the ultimate dark, dirty, dramatic read. There is nothing missing from this book! It’s filthy perfection!!
Lilah, Pascal, Beth and Alex are back with more debauched antics and I for one couldn’t wait to experience more mischief and mayhem as we get to experience the upcoming events this time told from all four pov’s.
So this is a continuation of the original series set roughly two years down the line.
For full appreciation here you really do need to start this journey with the White Trilogy followed by the VDB Trilogy: then this, The Crossover Duet completes the set.
So here Alex is unravelling and whatever is causing him to feel this way is having a knock-on effect ricocheting down the line affecting all in this unusual quad in some form or other.
Beth feels unloved, Pascal feels Ignored and Lilah well her priority is always going to be Pascal.
As for Alex whos does he turn to when hes the top, the one usually in charge.
Alex is suffering and in true form, that means he behaves like a dolt to all around him.
But all this is thrown to one side when events conspire that send Pascal racing home to claim his birthright.
There is no rule book in this particular series so its best you just go with the flow here.
This is as usual decadently dirty and anything goes
The characters in this series are some of my most favourite too date, Totally flawed, kinky as hades and completely unpredictable.
As usual, this one was another bumpy ride and I am now looking forward to part two.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Check (Crossover Duet, #1).

This is a amazing read that is full of twists and darkness that will have you needing more of this story. This is a must read series that will have you loving this story. This is more then 5 stars but will have to read the series’s yourself to know what I’m talking about.
I can see why these characters wouldn’t let the author rest. Everyone of them is worth one’s attention and quite honestly won’t shut the he%% up with all their narcissism.
Elizabeth brings about the air in which they all need to breathe, to feel, to hope for something more.
Lilah manages the daily dull drums keeping business going, while juggling the intuitive pull from all of them. She knows what they need before they do. Problem is her heart belongs to only Pascal.
Alexander is the boy behind the beast. He is lost without a compass in Check and nothing is right in his world without her.
Pascal needs both control and care, of which he has been without for too long. He, too is lost and bored and cannot be left alone. What lies ahead for our foursome is beyond our wildest imagination. Ms. Hart gives the POV from each character as they navigate through despair, anger, pain, jealousy, lust, and love.
VDB has a way with words, and has me hooked from the first chapter. I can’t get enough of his speech. And Lilah with her retorts, seems made for him.
Alex is at it yet again. How he gets so stuck in his head all he does is think of himself. He should be there for Beth, but instead he has to sit and go through his own shit. Beth almost seems like she’s outside the circle, with her poor understanding of how everything and everyone works.
And now I’m sitting here, wanting. Wanting more, needing more. Can’t wait for the follow up, to come….
OMG this book!
What can I say… Elizabeth, Lilah, Alexander and, (excuse me whilst I sigh and swoon for a moment) Pascal.
Intrigue, love, kink, angst, pain, this book had everything and when you add all that to characters that I love and adore huge amounts then you have a recipe for perfection.
I have to say this though, you MUST have read both the White Trilogy and the VDB Trilogy before reading this at this is a continuation of the lives of the characters from those series’ and if you don’t you won’t have a fricking clue what’s doing on!
Lions, tigers and bears oh my! Well it’s Pascal, Alexander, Elizabeth and Lilah! Check is written from all 4 points of view, love hearing their voices. Inbetween the pages you’ll find wit, intrigue, devious plans, emotions that run the gamut, control and the loss of it. And as always there is plenty of hot, steamy and sadistic kink. Your panties will combust
Looking forward for the next book, hoping against hope it’s not the end of their stories.
The game is certainly afoot.
Another positively enchanting tale from Charlotte, full of mischief and fuckery.
A definite must read from four POV’s.
I loved it and couldn’t put it down.
The White series and VDB series must be read before reading Check to get a full understanding of the book.
