Archer has always wanted what he can’t have—Quinn Dawson. Since the moment he saw her, he’s been denying his feelings for her, ignoring the void in his heart he knows only she can fill. Everything about them was wrong, the kind of wrong that felt so right. But none of it mattered. Not the terrible timing. And definitely not the mess it would create if Archer made a move on his best friend’s baby … friend’s baby sister.
It was supposed to be one night, but one night is all it takes to make everything more complicated, and they only have nine short months to sort it all out.
No, none of it mattered. Until it did.
Cheat Codes is book one in The Dawson Family Series.

Two part…unknown at the time and unnecessary
CLIFFHANGER!!! I don’t usually read books if I know they are cliff hangers so readers beware. I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn’t been a cliff hanger. I liked the characters and the story line.
It was a good read but a cliff hanger and had I known that I wouldn’t have started it.
Cheat Codes is a great brother’s best friend love story. The story was easy to read, and it progressed at a good pace. Quinn has had a crush on her older brother’s best friend Archer for years, not thinking he would see her as anything as a pesky kid. I enjoyed the story, and I liked the characters. Also liked the family dynamics. I really can’t wait to read the conclusion to Quinn and Archer story.
NO SPOILERS!
Cheat Codes was a sexy, angsty, and emotional introduction to the Dawson Family series as well as Quinn and Archer’s duet, and I really enjoyed it! The storyline and characters were great, and I loved Emily Goodwin’s writing style.
The storyline was entertaining, but not quite what I expected. I knew it was an older brother’s best friend/surprise baby romance, and I really enjoy that trope. I also knew it was the first book in a duet, so I expected the cliffhanger at the end. Certain parts of the book were a little frustrating and annoying at times, and I would have liked things to have progressed differently here and there. But overall Cheat Codes was a wonderful start to this duet, and I’m looking forward to reading the conclusion to Quinn and Archer’s story in End Game.
The characters were great and I really liked them a lot. I enjoyed Quinn and Archer’s personalities and red-hot chemistry together, but I would have preferred their relationship to have progressed differently. I loved reading the book from both Quinn and Archer’s point of view, and most of their banter and interactions with each other. Although I really liked Quinn and Archer, I just didn’t feel a deep connection with them like I hoped. They both felt closed off in a lot of ways, mainly emotionally, and I wished they had been more open and honest with each other about certain topics. I’m really hoping that the author delves deeper into their thoughts and feelings for each other in the final book in their duet. I really enjoyed most of the secondary characters, mainly Quinn’s family and Archer’s friend. There were a few that frustrated me and got on my nerves at times, but hopefully they’ll be better in the next book. Even though Cheat Codes had some things I didn’t like, I still really enjoyed it, and I’m definitely looking forward to reading the conclusion to Quinn and Archer’s story in End Game.
Cheat Codes was a sexy and emotional start to Quinn and Archer’s duet, and I would recommend it to everyone that enjoys the older brother’s best friend/surprise baby trope! Emily Goodwin did a great job with this book, and I can’t wait to read the outcome to Quinn and Archer’s story in End Game!
Quinn and Archer will absolutely steal your heart with their angst filled and forbidden romance.
Archer has been Quinn’s brother, Dean, best friend since they were in college roommates, has known Quinn ever since, and has been interested in her all that time. But not wanting to ruin his friendship with Dean and the family-like relationship he has with the rest of the family, and also due to the fact that Quinn is younger, he never acted on his feelings. Neither did Quinn for the very same reasons.
Now, with Dean’s upcoming wedding and the engagement party they are forced together and they can’t deny the chemical attraction they share. They try to fight it but their feelings are undeniable and it was only a matter of time until they broke.
Quinn and Archer had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I completely fell for these two and I just wanted more more more. That cliff-hanger had me dropping my jaw. I’m dying to find out what happens next. I need to know!
Cheat Codes was truly a book that had it all, the fun, the sweetness, the fire and the angst, oh lord, the angst… This book had it all and more and it seriously couldn’t have been more amazing. I have only read one other Emily Goodwin book but I’m finding out that each book is more amazing than the last, so I need End Game like now! And I seriously cannot wait to read more of her books.
This is the first in a new series, and what an amazing introduction this is. Quinn has always had a crush on her brothers’ best friend, but unknown to her, Archer has feeling for her as well. Both of these characters have denied themselves from acting on their feelings, due to the “off limits” code. It comes to a point where their feeling cannot be denied any longer, and this action has consequences. OMG, that cliffy has me reeling!! This is a wonderfully written story, which is filled with angst, emotion, and humour. I was totally captivated throughout this page turner, and cannot wait to read the second book!
This book kicked romantic butt!
First of all, I love that Quinn is a b.a. computer nerd like myself. It is inspiring to read about smart girls who rock and men find attractive instead of inferior. Also, Archer is the doctor of my freaking dreams!
I really enjoy brothers best friend romances. I liked the angst during the beginning of their relationship and how they fought for each other.
I know the synopsis said “9 short months to sort it all out” but I’m apparently oblivious (lol) so what happened was a shock to me. I also did not see that ending coming!
Cheat Codes was such a sweet story. Quinn and Archer make such an adorable couple. They are both kind hearted and beautiful people. I loved their nerdy intellect. Their story ends in a bit of cliffhanger that alludes to a possible bumpy road ahead but I have no doubt that they’ll get through it. I can’t wait to read End Game!
Although I love the book. I was not happy about the ending. The book was recommended in a author take over on Facebook and I didn’t really read enough of the description to tell it ended in a cliffhanger. I would have never started it. So SPOILER ALERT, this book ends in a cliffhanger and the other book End Game is not out yet.
I love brother’s best friend books. This book was no exception (though I will cry about it ending on a cliffhanger!). This was a great book. Quinn and Archer are wonderful together and I can’t wait to read their HEA. Not to mention I look forward to the moment that Archer FINALLY tells Quinn that he loves her!!
