So I loved Quinn and Archer and did not think anyone could take their place and kinda did not want anyone to but gotta say it, Logan and Danielle totally did.( No not really no one could ever take the place of Quinn and Archer in my heart) Their story was just too good. I love a good friends to lovers and this one is just too good. Looking forward to Owen’s book.
NO SPOILERS!
Cheap Trick was a sweet, funny, sexy, and highly entertaining standalone friends-to-lovers romance, and it has been my favorite standalone in the Dawson Family series so far! The storyline and characters were incredible, and I loved Emily Goodwin’s writing style. Logan and Danielle were extremely lovable and relatable characters, and I connected with them so easily. I loved the friendship and insanely hot chemistry they shared together, and I loved every moment of their love story. Cheap Trick was a MUST READ contemporary romance, and I can’t wait to read the next standalone in the Dawson Family series, Fight Dirty!
Another wonderful story in this series. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one in this series.
I definitely recommend this book, this author, and this series.
10+ stars!!! I loved Logan & Danielle SO MUCH!!! This story flowed really well – it’s a slow burn, but so worth it. Their friendship is fun & the way they interact with each other & with Logan’s family & Danielle’s grandpa is so sweet. SO enjoyed the direction the story went & when they finally get together… H O T! There are some deeper things going on as well, and they were done respectfully & beautifully, leaving a happy feeling even through some tearful times.
Thumbs way up for this one!! : )
I loved this book. Logan and Danielle friendship as well as their push and pull. They completed each other without even trying. As much as Danielle tried to fight what was always in front of her. Logan stood up and fought for her just as hard. First with himself, then with the drunk, and lastly with her father. His love had no bounds and when it was tested he went all in with no turning back.
The laughs and the fun they experienced together was an added relief of enjoyment. Comrades through and through. No glitz and glamour needed.
I absolutely adored this book! From start to finish I was totally smitten with Logan and Danielle. The way they started as friends and grew into so much more was beautiful. The chemistry, the push and pull, the love between them was stunning.
Logan, my goodness this beautiful, kind, intelligent, sexy man. Not only is Logan as good guy at heart, but the way he loves and cares for Danielle is truly a sight. The way he looks at her with complete adoration, it’s just something.
And Danielle, I love this strong, vulnerable, insecure, brave, real woman. It was so nice getting to hear Danielle’s inner thoughts, to hear what she thinks and feels because it is so real and so many people feel as she does. But then she learns to love herself and her life exactly for what it is, and learn that everything has happened for a reason. It’s truly beautiful and made me cry and smile at the same time.
Together Logan and Danielle’s story is stunning and raw and I was absolutely blown away.
I can’t say enough incredible things about this book and about the magnificent stories Emily Goodwin creates for her readers to escape to.
Emily Goodwin, you have a reader for life right here <3
Love the Dawson Family. I can’t decide who is my favorite. I love them all. Their banter and chemistry are off the charts amazing. I can’t wait for more of these wonderful characters. Owen and Quinn crack me up. Logan is so hot.
Cheap Trick by Emily Goodwin is the fourth book in her Dawson Family series. A standalone contemporary romance set in the world of the Dawson’s whom we did previously meet in Cheat Codes, End Game, and my favorite (still) Side Hustle. Danielle meets Logan Dawson in his bar and the stars collide and the sparks fly and (you get it, right?) instant attraction. But co-workers they must be and friends they become. But then who better to have as her fake date for her sisters wedding than someone hot and available like Logan? Iy won’t mess with their friendship, she said. Things will work out fine, she said…
The emotion and tension between these two was sizzling off the pages (kindle screen) and it was a definite page-turner for me. Emily Goodwin is fast becoming a must-read author for me. Enjoy!
Logan and Danielle were everything and more!!! They met when she moved in with her grandfather and it was an instant attraction between them BUT they just didn’t know and became best friends and work partners. It was adorable to see his Logan own family was encouraging him to make a move on Danielle because they all loved her and can clearly see there is something there between them. Danielle was going thru a phase in her life with the worse set of parents and sister but she had Logan and the entire Dawson clan along with her grandpa to make up for it. There was a sad moment but Logan was there as always. They both finally saw what was right in front of their faces and went for it. Loved the epilogue and can’t wait for more of the Dawson’s.
“How lucky you are that you get to fail.”
The perfect small town romance. I laughed. I cried. I awww’d. I fell in love.
” You can only fail if you’re living, and that’s not something you should ever take for granted. ”
Danielle has spent her life trying to find herself. Manipulating her world to fit the mold so carefully cast for her. It never seemed enough, each attempt always felt like another notch in a long line of fails.
Logan knew from that first moment, he also knew that some things were worth waiting for, worth savoring. Worth the time to get it right. I must say if he definitely took his sweet time.
Sometimes fate needs to lend a hand and for Logan and Danielle, it just took a bit of mud and a couple of strangers.
I loved how this played out. The supporting cast brings so much to the table. From the pain in the backside siblings to the over demanding parents. Even the perfect grandpa.
A full on feels good read
The Dawson family owns a soft spot in my heart and I was so excited to read about another Dawson brother Logan in Cheap Trick by Emily Goodwin. And I enjoyed reading it so much!
Danielle has been giving in to her family’s expectations for a long time but now she has decided to live her own life. She has escaped to the loving and cozy small town to her grandfather. She meets Logan, the owner at the bar and feels an instant connection with him. So does Logan. They become coworker, best friend, confidante and everything but do not acknowledge the attraction between them as Dani didn’t settle at any place for long.Until the circumstances make Logan act as her fake fiance to her sister’s wedding.
I love how they complimented each other. Dani has a hidden vulnerable side behind her cheerful loving character. And Logan is a bit broody, a lot of sexy, a bit of caveman, a bit of overthinker and as a whole perfect. The sass and witty banter was spot on in this book. Emily also took us to the picturesque Hawaii for part of the story. Her writing is very vivid, detailed and captivating. The scenes run through my mind’s eyes in kaleidoscopic colours. The emotions and feelings grew slowly like a fire between Dani and Logan. I hate her family as much as I love the Dawsons!
Cheap Trick was a swoonworthy emotional romance. The characters were adorable and the emotions were beautiful. A perfect combination of small town romance with friends-to-lovers romance!
Received ARC for Honest Review
This book is amazing, I could not put it down. I love absolutely every thing about it. First of all, I need to say Emily has written such an amazing character in Danielle. I think at one time we have all been her. Life just isn’t going the way we thought and we have no clue where we are going. She wrote Danielle in such an amazing way, and you can tell Emily put her own struggles in the mix, and I love respect and appreciate her for putting so much of herself into this story.
Logan is a sexy sweet heart bartender in love with his employee, only she doesn’t know. Danielle isn’t staying in Eastwood, so she doesn’t want to get close to any one, but after a year she’s starting to feel at home for the first time in a while. So when her sister wedding comes up and she doesnt want to go alone. So she makes up a fake fiance, what she doesn’t realize is Logan will be taking that role. Logan can finally be open with her, and doesnt have to hide his feelings anymore. Will they fall in love in paradise? So amazing! You won’t be able to put it down for anything!
Such a sweet slow burn, friends-to-lovers/fake romance book! I love Logan and Danielle’s friendship and how it turns into more. And Logan is totally swoon worthy and sweet. This is the fourth book in the Dawson Family Saga. I have not read the others in this series and didn’t feel lost other than not having some of the siblings background story. This family cracked me up in this one so I am definitely I felt going to read the others.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The Dawson family is a wonderful, crazy and loving family to hang out with. Danielle has been struggling with where she fits. Her family has an agenda and goals that don’t fit how she feels about her life. She finds herself back at her mother’s roots, living with her grandpa which leads her right into Logan Dawson’s orbit. Ending up at the bar one night, she needs a job and they need help. But she sees life here as temporary while she tries to figure out where she belongs. Logan is struck the moment he sees Danielle but if friendship is all she will give him, well, he is going to take it. When Danielle’s sister’s wedding approaches, she needs to go but doesn’t want to go alone. Enter her best friend Logan, willing to help out and pretend to be her fiance. What happens when acting like a couple doesn’t feel like acting? Will spending time with the Dawson family show Danielle where she truly belongs? There are so many amazing moments but Grandpa’s words of wisdom to Danielle are beautiful along with his unwavering support. Add in the craziness that all the Dawson’s provide and I found myself pulled in to devour this wonderfully sexy romance. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
A great friends to lovers/fake romance book!! Danielle and Logan hit it out of the park from the start. A little angsty, a lot of sexy times, humor, great characters. This starts and ends strong!
This is a book in a series but you do not need to read the others to enjoy this one. Although I would recommend it because they rock as well and their characters are in this book too!
Cheap Trick is another great Dawson’s family read, featuring Logan and his best friend Danielle. The story is told at a slow burning pace, it’s sweet, has family antics, and lastly love. I enjoyed every minute of it. I really liked Logan and Danielle. I thought they were so perfect for eachother. Everytime I read another book about this family, I think man I want to know them for real. I got to say Logan is the type of man I want for my daughters.
OMG!!! Danielle and Logan’s story gave me all the feels. I laughed. I swooned. I cried a bit towards the end. One of the best friends to lovers stories I’ve read. While I love all the Dawson clan, I’ve gotta say that these two are my favorite couple by far. Something about their relationship and chemistry is just so great. And seeing Logan as a vulnerable, hopeful romantic just makes you really feel for him and fall for him. It really added to the build of their coming together. Can’t wait for Owen and to hopefully get a glimpse of Logan, Danielle and the rest of the Dawson clan.
