Prescott Beckham always got what he wanted … with one exception.Ten years ago I was nothing but a highly functioning brain to the gorgeous Prescott Beckham. We were classmates at Crestview Academy and all he saw in me was a way to get his homework done. Now? He is Manhattan’s wealthiest bachelor and is relentless in his pursuit of me. The stubborn man refuses to take no for an answer. Just … take no for an answer.
Just because everyone else falls for his easy charm and smokin’ hot looks, he thinks I will too.
I have some important information for Mr. Beckham.
I am immune to his so-called magnetism. Completely and totally.
Maybe if I keep repeating that mantra, I’ll believe it.
Because I’ve changed. I am not the same person I was ten years ago.
So if he wants to keep this up, I only have one thing to say to that.
Bring it on.
And God help me.

I’ve been meaning to read this one for a while now but never seem to get to it until now. It’s been a great enemies to lovers / second chance romance but also had elements in it that I could definitely relate to and that made it even better. I loved how strong Vivi was portrayed, after everything she has been through. Definitely worth the read!
Vivienne (Vivi) has been through a lot and is in dire need of a new job to keep her head above water as her current job isn’t exactly what she wants. When she sees Prescott again, both can’t believe their eyes, but Vivi doesn’t really have a lot of fond memories of their time in high school. Even though Prescott tries to make her see that he has changed, she doesn’t really want to have anything to do with him but he doesn’t really take no for an answer and tries to persue her in every way. Vivi can’t seem to forget the past but slowly she’s starting to see what lies underneath and what he has been through. Maybe they have something more in common than she thought. But when Vivi’s life is in danger, he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe from harm. Will she finally give him a chance? And will they find a love worth fighting for?…

~ 5 Little Wolf Stars ~
Another GREAT book from AM Hargrove. She never fails to impress me with her stories an characters. I get caught up in her books everytime I pick one up.
Chasing Vivi is one I have been waiting to read, ever since I met Prescott in A Special Obsession. I knew he story as going to be a good one and I wasn’t disappointed. This book had everything I look for in a 5 star read. She gave us an intriguing storyline, interesting characters, humor, great dialogue, drama (but nothing over the top) a little bit of heartache, and some extremely steamy sex 😉 My emotions and heart were all over the place while reading this book. The author does touch on some serious topics. I thought Ms. Hargrove handle these topics with a lot of grace and dignity.
I loved the flow and pace of this story. This book is an enemies to lovers style story. Prescott and Vivi actually know each other from back in High School, when they both went to Crestview. To say their road to happiness was an easy one is an understatement. Both Prescott and Vivi have some serious issues steaming from things in their past. So it was fun watching these two learn to open themselves up and learn to trust one another. I thought the author took these two characters on the perfect journey. She should that what started out as instant lust can turn into something really beautiful. You just have to learn to trust others. Like I said earlier, this book isn’t full of a lot of drama, but what was in this story will have you turning the pages fast!!!! This book has quite a bit of angst in it so if you are fan of that, you will love this story.
Chasing Vivi is a standalone companion novel to A Special Obsession. It is told in Dual POV. It is a complete standalone and NO you don’t have to read A Special Obsession first. I would only suggest it to get to know Prescott a little better. You meet him in that book, we also see some other characters from the other book, but nothing that will really spoil Weston and Special’s story if read out of order. I loved that we got to see more of Harrison in this story and that she kind of sets up the next book in this book.
As I have will all of A.M. Hargrove’s books, I would definitely recommend this book. If you are looking for that enemies to lovers romance with a little bit of drama and a lot of angst added in, then this is the book to read. Another GREAT read by Ms. Hargrove!!!!
Two people, two backgrounds, so different and yet so similar ….
Vivian, the uggly duckling from high school, and Prescott, the rich and spoiled heir to a multi-billion-dollar company, are old high school acquaintances.
After meeting again by chance, they quickly fall for each other, even though they deny their feelings. Their past experiences have built walls around their hearts that are designed to ward off anything that might hurt them. This, and their stubbornness to talk and let the other in, are the obstacles to overcome for a happily ever after …
The constant back and forth between these two protagonists has driven me out of my mind at times. I wanted to shake them and yell at them to stop being that stubborn, lol.
The twisted plot kept me on the edge of my seat and made me gasp for air several times.
This captivating story is clearly a must read!
This was a good story. Some action, steamy romance and a happy ending.
I truly enjoy reading the book.. it was sexy comedy with a lot of teasing and naughtiness…
Prescott and Vivi met again after college time.. two people with a different life… Vivi set a high standard where Prescott had to earn his way to heart.. despite of her stubborness..
I think the book is slowburn sexy…easy read romance with many perks 😉 so long little Wolf 😉
A great book
Great read!
FINALLY!! Finally a story where the woman didn’t throw herself at the rich guy as soon as he pulled the black Amex out of his wallet. (Not that I remember that this happened here but you get what I’m saying.)
I loved how strong, stubborn and independent Vivi was despite her situation. She needed the money really bad but she rather earned it herself than take the offer of easy money. A woman with a strong backbone made for a welcome change in our instant-panty-dropping book world.
This was a slow burn but realistic read. So don’t expect the characters to be baby-making in the first chapter. This was one of the main reasons why I loved this book so much. It could have easily been a real-life story and the heroine didn’t give in that quickly to the hot guy as it often is the case. The characters had loveable personalities which made them almost too good to be true.
The author never disappoints with her books and she’s a go-to author for me. I am really glad that I discovered her and I’m so excited for her next books.
The Story:
Vivi’s life is currently on a real low. Her job pays poorly, her apartment is rather a closet in a neigh-borhood you don’t want to hang around at night and her boss is a massive jerk. When Prescott Backham suddenly stands in front of her, all her memories from school and the horrible thing the kids did to her, come rushing back. Prescott may have not made fun of her like the others did but he only noticed and needed her for his homework.
Can you blame her for not wanting to go out with him even though every other woman would throw themselves at him without having to ask? The thing is, Prescott isn’t used to be rejected and as soon as he set eyes on Vivi, he knew he wanted her and he would do everything to get what he wants.
But since when was he chasing after a woman? It’s usually the other way around and he never had to persuade a woman to be with him. What’s changed? Vivi is so different to all the others and that’s exactly what makes her more attractive and him more intrigued by her.
Vivi’s determined to keep her distance from all of her past and that includes Prescott Backham. But Prescott doesn’t give up that easily. The question now is: who will have the greater staying power??
Thoughts:
I loved how protective Prescott was of Vivi and that despite her quick judge on him they had such a great chemistry. It was a slow burn but building up throughout the story and therefore got better and better further into the book.
I loved how she stayed strong and didn’t instantly give in to this good-looking rich guy that never payed attention to her in school besides her doing his homework.
Both had strong and stubborn personalities which made their interactions so much more enjoyable. It was like sitting on dynamite and waiting for the explosion because of all the sexual tension and crackling chemistry.
It was a great story about two characters both with tough background stories and family troubles and I liked how the characters problems were woven into the story and how they’ve made them stronger without their troubles becoming all-consuming in the book.
I wasn’t as emotionally involved as I was with other books from this author but I loved the book a lot nonetheless. It had a good pace and definitely hooked me to the pages. Absolutely recommended!
Prescott at times comes off as a little needy, “you were supposed to call me. Did you forget? Or … wait. How could you? I texted you, let’s see”—he pulls out his phone and silently ticks off the number of messages he sent—“six times, Vivi. I texted you six times.” Prescott is very posessive, “…and if you so much as look at another man, I’ll beat the living **** out of him.” He grins and suddenly he looks like the Big Bad Wolf.” I loved this book, Prescott was one determined man.
