I enjoyed the reading the book. I love Beth Moore’s books. Presently doing the bible study with a group and it definitely different than any prior Beth Moore’s workbooks.
I learned a lot about vineyards and tending vines. But I must say I drew my own conclusions and related them to God’s meaning. I found her going “off script into preacher mode.” many times. I’m not saying the message was bad, just out of the direction I thought she was going. In other reviews, some find fault with her current opinions and questions whether she is to be believed in anything she says. That is why I said I learned about vineyards and drew the connections to the Lord myself.
This book was just what I needed at this time. I listened to the audiobook while walking when I needed to get away from my desk during #shelterinplace. Listening to Beth read her book kept the emotion real and the feeling I was sitting with a friend as she shared wisdom with me. I’ve long loved Beth Moore’s Bible studies, and have led many for the women in our church. But this came at a time I needed to go deep and see the hope of good and hard times. Highly recommend.
Very disappointing especially the workbook. Not really a Bible Study. Too much opinion.
Excellent. As usual, Mrs. Moore taught me more than I thought I wanted to know about grapevines and their use and symbolism in the Bible, but I walk away richer for it. More than once as I read I had to stop and share passages with friends–at least one of which promptly purchased the book for herself. I laughed and pondered and even cried (which I don’t do easily) through the text, my respect for the author growing not because of the obvious research she put into this book but because of the way she transparently shared a couple of events that brought her great pain and turmoil. Rocky soil indeed. Now, as the book is read and I prepare to move on, my mind still churns as I think again through some of the truths she shared and God points out areas of my life where it easily applies. Yes, this book changed me, and its words will spring to mind often in the days to come.
Beth Moore has been a long time mentor, even though I have never met her in person, I know I am going to learn a lot from her. When I heard about this book and the premise, I knew I had to read. Boy was I not disappointed! Beth takes us on a journey that reminds us how much we matter to God. His care for us is so pure, detailed and unconditional. I love the parallel between vineyards and how purposefully God has planted us. Nothing is by chance or coincidence. Everything is with careful attention to detail. Beth has a way of expressing this amazing truth through her gift of writing and love for the Bible.
This is a must read for sure!
