A well written page turning novella & the longest in the series so far. I loved Camille the bluestocking who’d loved Tristan, her brother Edward’s, best friend for years. I also loved Tristan who on returning from Waterloo realised that Camille had grown up & oh how he now wanted her. I loved how their relationship changed. I was also intrigued by Camille’s aunt & hoped her lost love would reappear
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Swoony, charming and romantic. A very fine Christmas story. Camille always loved Tristan and now that he notices her it is too late since she accepted another man for the sake of money. This Duke will need to come to his senses to get the girl.
I really enjoyed this book! Chasing The Duke is the story of Lady Camille Bellington a young lady botanist. Camille grew up with her brother Edward and his friend, Tristan Tierney, the fifth Duke of Mercer. Camille has been in love with Tristan all of her life but he was several years older than her and then he went off to war. Now he is back and he doesn’t want a wife but she needs someone to help her save Longleat, her family home. So she becomes betrothed to Viscount Ripley, a mama’s boy. This is a very good, quick read. The characters are well developed and the story is interspersed with humor. I would definitely recommend it.

Camille is a botanist doing work for others rebuilding their gardens when they fail. She has known and had a crush on Tristan most of her life (he was a close friend of her brothers) Tristan was injured in the war and thought he was forever damaged what with nightmares and day dreams so he stayed away from everyone. Camille still has a crush but now was full fledged love. Tristan realized he loved her too but since he was damaged decided to leave her alone.

Book seven in the 12 Days of Christmas series a Steamy Second Chance Regency Romance, it is well written with a very good storyline. Lady Camille Bellington and War hero Tristan Tierney the Duke of Mercer’s story had me smiling as I read. I want to read more in this series.
Wonderful story! Camille used to chase her elder brother Edward and his friend Tristan around as achild. She’s been in love with Tristan for as long as she could remember. Then he went off to war. Years later he is back and she has just become engaged to a mama’s boy. One thing leads to another, and fight it as she may, Tristan is the only man for her. It is easy to get wrapped up in this story. The characters are so inviting and diverse. Camille is intelligent, courageous, vibrant and determined. Tristan is strong, capable, handsome, virile and damaged. Who could not love him? Bel’s love of laughter at another’s expence adds a little spice, as does Ridley’s inability stray from Society’s norm. This is a well written story that will engage your heart and leave you smiling and satisfied.

Camille was always in love with Tristan. Tristan went to war and came back to a dukedom and the very grown up Camille. At the time Camille was betrothed to another. They spend time together and feelings are realized. The characters are warm and wonderful. The story was told in a perfect manor. This is a shorter story but it lacks nothing. It is just a warm Christmas time story. I have pre ordered the whole series. This is a great story.

Camille has had a crush on her brother’s best friend for years, but practicality made her accept another man’s proposal to save her family’s home and her beloved greenhouse. Tristan, the Duke of Mercer sees her in a different light after being away for years and verbally sparring with her at her family home in front of her betrothed. I found Viscount Ridley to be stuffy and judgmental and I think he would make her give up the work she loves because it would make him look bad. Tristan is dealing with post traumatic stress from the war and he not sure if he’ll ever be up for marrying, but he is considering taking that chance to be with Camille. They have their share of back and forth and scandalous encounters. But he does something that other men won’t, which is support her research and not be cowed by her intellect. This was a steamy Regency Holiday novella romance.
Lady Camille Bellington has been in love with her brother’s best friend since they were all just children, but he has never even cast her a look – after all she was eight years younger than the two boys. After this season, she has become engaged to Viscount Ridley, a financial reason to save her home she grew up in with her brother & Aunt Bel after her parent died.
Tristan Tierney, Duke of Mercer has returned home after three years away in the military and comes home with PTSD. He will avoid London and begin rebuilding his estate that was in rundown condition after his brother’s death & now he was a duke – not something he wanted. He visited the house of his best friend after coming home and discovered Camille had blossomed into a woman that he found very enticing, but she was also betrothed to Ridley.
The journey between Tris & Camille was so much fun – there was humor, denial on both sides, romance abounds, but in the end the found their HEA. I highly recommend this book – it will leave you with a warm feeling & a smile on your face! I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.
And on the seventh day
I don’t think the Duke was running too fast
Children are very wise, that’s what Lady Fontaine had said. Camille has been in love with Tristan since childhood. Being separated by eight years Tristan never noticed Camille’s adoration for him. Now that Tristan is back from the war Camille cannot deny that she is still in love with him. And Tristan is about to see what has been there all along, true love. I loved the plum tree in the beginning, much like Adam with the apple Tristan’s fate was completely sealed with his first bite.
Whether it be three pages or three hundred it always seems to take me forever to read anything by Tracy Sumner. But in a good way. Regency and Victorian era romance have always been my favorite. So many times authors can overfill a book with so many repetitive details that you never get to know the characters. Tracy uses uniquely colorful phrases and rich detail that by doing so allows the reader to make that connection to the characters that they deserve. So much so that I find myself having to pause to laugh and on occasion investigate a new word or phrase that I have just read. I think Chasing the Duke is a wonderful read for anytime of the year.

I loved this book! The characters were great and I loved their personalities and how they interacted with each other. The romance was steamy but still sweet and swoonworthy. There is humor and the story is a well-written friends-to-lovers historical romance. I really enjoyed this and the HEA was perfect. I would definitely recommend this and can’t wait for more from this author.
Loved it, throughly enjoyed it, it was well written and very descriptive.
Lady Camille Bellington has loved Tristan Duke of Mercer since they were children, but he has only ever seen her as his best friend’s little sister. It is only when he finds out that she is about to a marriage of convenience to save her Aunt’s home that he starts to see her in a different light. Realising what is missing from his life as he strives to win her and to encourage her to realise that it is not just the Viscount who wishes for her hand.
A botanist and her duke.
This was such a good and believed it or not it is a quick read too. The author put so much heart in those few pages it was simply brilliant. Camille will marry for duty, for the love of her life Tristan left her with a broken heart. Who needs love she thinks but fate has other ideas. Tristan is back from the war now having to deal with a title and also finding the girl he loves engaged to another. This tale will show you just what he does. The story has humor and romance very engaging it was a sweet tale. I highly recommend this book I spent a lovely afternoon reading it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Even though she vowed to never chase him again…
Camille has loved her brother’s best friend all of her life. Wouldn’t you know that just as she vows to never chase Tristan again, the stars align and her world tilts on its axis.
I understand that some readers are put off by explicitly passionate romances, but Chasing the Duke is truly an absorbing and entertaining story that’s well worth reading. Not only are Camille and Tristan well matched in strength of will, their chemistry is TNT explosive. Tracy Sumner has deftly mixed angst, humor and steam into a well constructed story, with well developed personalities. Then to top off this romantic read, Ms. Sumner writes an adorable and sigh-worthy epilogue.

ONE DELIGHTFUL JOURNEY
Flipping feathers! Tracy works wonders with this tantalizing treat, clipping every vexing contingent, fervent facts and clever strategy, delivering all the heat, passion and magic aplenty, grabbing your attention from the start and keeping you glued to your seat, launching this jewel to staggering heights. Anarchy and mayhem descend in a whirlwind of vexing encounters and intense situations, exposing the blurred lines and broken perimeters, limitations are enforced and expanded, highlighting the impish quirks and defying bents, keeping you riveted and frozen to your seat, bursting this baby to life brilliantly. The attraction and chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back, baring incredibly deep emotions and undeniable affections, bonding them to one another beautifully. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits adding depth and diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and such vivid descriptions that feel as though you were transported to the middle of ground zero with them. Fantastic job Tracy, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
Chasing the Duke is refreshing to read.
As an avid reader of historical romance and a fan as such I did like the approach the author took. I appreciated that she left the remarks to not have been historical correct because I often see such criticism in book reviews, which is totally uninteresting for me. I do not read historical documentaries here and if not in romance where can you be free to write as your pen you take?
The Duke, duped as a scoundrel here is, after having to fight Waterloo anything but. He has to live with nightmares and panic attacks announcing themselves at the most inappropriate times . Tristan is alone and not happy in his life and does not want to speak about his military past.
Camille knows him since her childhood. As her brothers best friend he used to pass a lot of time with her family. And as it is, Tristan is her childhood crush. Eight years younger she had to forget about him and now is promised to another man.
But how can she really marry her fiancé when all those feelings she had as a teenager come rushing back as soon as she sees Tristan again?
It is refreshing to see how the Duke and the Bluestocking are finding finally together. Heartily laughter included when her Aunt decides to meddle in the mess…

Who’s chasing whom? This is such a good story. It really fulfilled all my expectations for a romance story in less than 400 pages. Perfect example of how short can be “on-point” and still provide the aww sweet romance, steam, engaging characters whose emotion and energy you can feel and intriguing predicaments to ponder with even some comic relief. This is great for time-limited romance readers. Very well written second chance romance. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Time in a shot glass.
What I love about Tracy Sumner’s books is the romance (Of course) and I also love the humor. I love the fact the characters in her books don’t take themselves too seriously. Lord and Lady this, Marquis that, it doesn’t make a difference. lol. They have problems and worries. They hurt and love like everyone else. It makes them human and three-dimensional characters you love to know. Lady Camile Bellington’s final season in the Ton is a success. she has resigned herself not to marry for love after she’s ignored for years by her brother’s best friend Tristan Tierney the Duke of Mercer. She instead marries for duty and to save her beloved estate.
Three years later, Tristan returns from the battle of Waterloo a battle fatigued war hero. He is intrigued to find his childhood friend is now a beautiful, intelligent woman who studies botany. Tristan teases Camile and kisses her. He realizes Camile has had a crush on him for years. Tristan finds he is falling in love with Camile. However, he knows a world-weary, battle fatigued man is not a good match for Camile and keeps away. I loved this book. The banter between Camile and Tristan is priceless. I loved how open-minded and determined she is to get her Duke after she gets rid of her fiance. I also liked the scene when Camile tells her aunt her very direct plan to get the Duke shockings her aunt. I laughed out loud. I like how the author addresses Tristan’s PTSD and how it affects him when a glass shatters at a party. This is the fifth book I’ve read by this author. I just love her books. I even bought “This Rake is taken.” and read it three times already. I’m a fan. I received a complimentary copy of this book via booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
A Lovely Romance!
I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this story which is part of the Twelve Days of Christmas Anthology and this is my voluntary and unbiased review of it.
Camille is a Bluestocking, totally engrossed with her horticultural experiments and she doesn’t have time for love but is engaged to someone for financial reasons. She has loved and chased after Ethan all her life but has now given up on that.
Ethan has been to war and comes back traumatized by loud noises. He is her brother’s best friend and becomes very attracted to her when they meet up again.
The story takes off with Ethan taking control and wooing her. There are some really lovely scenes between them and they do have a happily every after which made me extremely happy.
This is lovely story which can be read anytime and enjoyed for its pure entertainment value.
I simply adored this story, such a delightful and fun read! Wonderful characters, humour, romance and very well written. From start to end, I was right into this story.
Camille has known Tristan, her brother’s best friend, since she was a young girl and has been in love with him all those years. After being gone for many years, he’s now back and although she’s now betrothed to another man, it doesn’t take long to realize that she’s still attracted to Tristan. Some of her conversations with her aunt and the countess had me in stitches:)
Tristan has come back home but he’s not the man he use to be. Nightmares from the war pursue him and he doesn’t think he’s good for anyone. When he meets up with Camille, he’s surprised to find her all grown up and is very attracted to her. It was fun to watch him try everything to resist her and she trying everything to seduce him:)
