Ryan Harding. He’s running royalty. The guy I’ve been following online since I started this sport. Sure, I’ve got a crush on him, but so does nearly every other runner in the country. I’m an unknown in this world, it’s not like the prince of distance running is ever going to notice me, which is for the best. I’ve been down this road once before with the Mr. Perfect type, and I’m not doing it … again.
Indigo Adams stood out the moment I saw her cross the finish line. She’s not only got a gorgeous stride and stellar kick, but possesses the tenacity and drive required to reach the top. She’s the perfect fit for our newly-formed team in Colorado, though her running potential isn’t the only thing that’s captured my attention. Indigo seems skeptical of our selection of her and even more skeptical of me and my intentions. What will it take for her to see she belongs here in Brockton, on this team… and with me?
(This is a spinoff from the Pepper Jones series but can be read as a standalone.)

Ali did an amazing job with this Spin Off of Pepper Jones. It is a standalone so can be read apart from the Pepper Jones series. She touched on a serious subject of a possessive relationship, the struggle of obtaining your dream with little means to do so. Indigo is a character that you fall in love with from the start because of her strength. The story line is real and Ali writes with passion, which is rare in New Adult stores. You can feel the suspense in the story and it keeps you on your toes. Ryan is the boyfriend you dream of! This is a great clean story for all ages!

An amazing read i was lucky to recieve ARC and i was not disappointed.
CHASING INDIGO is a standalone, spin-off novel of the Pepper Jones Series. With this book, you get Ryan Harding’s story. Just like in all her previous novels, Ali Dean’s writes a captivating story from the first page to the very last word.
I highly recommend CHASING INDIGO to all romance readers.
Ali Dean did it again. I think I mention it in every review, do not start this book unless you have the time to finish it quickly. Like all of Ali’s books, this one sucks you in and you can’t put it down. I did not heed my own advice and spent several busy days with little to no sleep because I stayed up reading this book. Ali did a great job capturing Indigo’s thoughts and feelings on everything from her ex, to Ryan, to her insecurities on becoming an elite runner. It was awesome to get Ryan’s happily ever after. I was Team Ryan through out the Pepper Series longer than I should have been, so it was great for him to find his great love. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. It was a great and fast read.
Chasing Indigo, we meet Ryan and Indigo. Both competitive at their sport, both of them working hard at achieving their dreams. As we learn about Indigo and her past relationship, the way she was treated and the way she is now due to that relationship really had me all kinds of upset. However this story was about overcoming fears, living your life on your terms and accepting the love from those who …well, who love you!
Real life situations in a fiction romance story is why I love this author. Feels like I am reading something with more to it real life scenarios with real life reactions. It’s about overcoming obstacles and fears. Obstacles that are set in place by either situations, people or the main character. Indigo surviving an abusive (it’s not just physical) relationship and overcoming her trust issues while learning to love and accept love again is really courageous. There were so many things going against Indy, I thought what the hell is next? I wanted to punch Livy in her face! I was rooting for Ryan all along and I knew Liam was a slim ball. All of the characters in this pretty awesome read are fabulous and I loved reading about Ryan and Indy’s story. You will not want to put this one down!
So I highly recommend this read ….go get lost in this book tonight!!
Love love love Ali Dean…
Fantastic, real sports romance – great read!
I really love the writing style of this author. It is always flawless and while reading I have a feeling the writing process wasn’t rushed and the story line was thought through. Characters are very well developed and what I really like is that I can be a witness of their development in line with the progress of the story.
From the first pages of this book I connected with heroine and was cheering for her on her way to achieve her goals and make her dreams come true.
I devoured “Chasing Indigo” in one sitting. The pace of the plot is quite quick and it is hard to put the book down. Plenty of twists and unpredictable events make it even more interesting. Love the heroine with troubled past and how she fight to overcome what happened to her previously, hero who is trying to find patience and doesn’t want to ruin the relationship by rushing into it. Step by step they are building the relationship based on trust which in their case is the main challenge.
What for me distinguish this book from others in the so called sports romance genre is that here author really focuses on struggles of professional athletes like injuries, troubles with health, hard work they need to do to progress. How they are strong, determined, competitive and how sometimes they struggle with their own bodies and minds. Other books very often reduce the sport romance to hero who is a sport star and notorious playboy. One time heroine come to his life and everything starts to shift. But the setting of those stories is not very real. There’s no connection with trainings, health issues, with travelling, with being separated as a couple.
This story gave me a whole range of emotions, sweet romantic moments, sexy times, funny situations that brought smile on my face but also heartbreak that made me cry. I loved how the book ended but I would really like to read more about Indy and Ry.
If you love the Pepper Jones series, this is a must read! I loved getting to know Ryan better, and hearing more about the other characters from the Pepper books. Indy is a strong, independent woman that has major trust issues- deservingly so. She learns to trust Ryan, but more importantly herself. A friendship blooms between Ryan and Indy that slowly turns into more. Ryan is beyond patient, and is the kind of friend and boyfriend anyone would love to have! Indy’s bad luck can’t seem to go away and she gets hit over and over again, but she stays strong with Ryan by her side.

Welcome to Indigo Adams’ story. We’ve gotten a brief peek into her life previously through the Pepped Up and Wilder, but now it’s time for Indy to step up and shine, and she certainly does shine. Her background is so compelling, particularly because she is relatively new to running compared to the others she competes with. Since she’s so new, she has a bit of a chip on her shoulder, and if I know anything, it’s that I love a good underdog story. Indy is incredibly relatable and it makes her delightful to read. She has insecurities and she has doubts, but she never lets them hold her back. Even though it’s scary, she packs up her entire life and moves to Brockton to train with the best. Imagine leaving behind everything you know to pursue your dreams. Now imagine that the man you’ve had a crush on for years is your new teammate and coach. And you now live with him. What could possibly go wrong?
I was so thrilled to see that my beloved Ryan Harding would be getting some well-deserved attention. Since the first Pepper Jones book, I have been so intrigued by his character. Are there actually men out there who are this kind and confident and talented in real life? We’re not sure, but at least we have Ryan to help us hold out hope. Although most of the story is told from Indy’s perspective, we get to glimpse where Ryan’s head is at. Is his attraction and love for Indy at the forefront of his mind? Yes. Is his desire to see her succeed professionally at the forefront of his mind? Also, yes. Does being her coach and boyfriend cause internal struggle for him? Yes, yes it certainly does.
Indy’s talent as a runner is undeniable, and everyone can see it clearly except for her. She constantly works to prove herself (hi imposter syndrome, how are ya?) which is often to the detriment of her health. She’s got something to prove and this drives her to push herself to the edge. As her coach, Ryan should be stepping in, but he’s afraid to push her away. Finding a balance to this propels the second half of the book.
On top of all this, we have Indy’s manipulative ex-boyfriend who pops up at the worst times. Because of her past, this makes it all the more difficult for Indy to accept Ryan’s affection. These parts of the book were some of the hardest for me to read because I relate in such a personal level. I’m not an elite runner, but I know what it’s like for a man to make me feel uncomfortable and unsafe but to not really know what exactly is making me feel that way. It’s hard to read, but it’s important to note the subtleties of Liam’s behavior because it’s something that’s all too common to experience.
Indy and Ryan’s story deserves to be read. It’s complicated and charming and you’ll want to read it all in one sitting. I took my time with this one and really savored each word (I read it a second time and flew through it because, why not). Whether you choose to speed through or take your time, just be sure to enjoy it. You only get to read it for the first time once!

Let me just start by saying that the Pepper Jones series is one of my favorite series ever, I would give it 10 stars if I could. Those characters, I am so deeply invested in their lives and love them so much. I’m just not sure another series will ever steal my hear like that one, and I just couldn’t give this one a full 5 stars. I think because we were still in that world, I wasn’t immediately in love with Indy. She was very opposite of Pepper. Even opposite of Lydia, Kick and even Roxie. It took me a while to really like her, and by the end I loved her! I think that shows really great writing because all the females are strong and different. Even though Indy wasn’t immediately likeable to me, she really grew on me through the book, I think that is real talent to build a character like that. I liked the build up throughout the book and the plot twists. All the secondary characters were great, and I really like the team aspect and support.
*Spoilers*
I really enjoyed the growth in her and Ryan’s relationship. I like that it wasn’t figured out right away and the growth they went through was realistic. After the got back together, everything still wasn’t perfect and they had to work on their trust. I think this is very realistic of someone who had been through Indy’s past. I enjoyed seeing them grow as a couple through the book. The epilogue was so beautiful. I loved seeing the Wilder and Harding kids together. It warmed my heart so much.
Such a great book! I do love all of Ali Dean’s books, she is really talented at writing strong female characters and actually getting a guys perspective right. It’s always really believable in the sport aspect and the double male/female perspective. Again, I think that really shows talent in writing. I can’t wait to see what she does next!!!

I loved Ryan already and this book solidified it!! Indigo is such a great character and I loved the chemistry between them! I absolutely love Ali Dean’s books and this one is one of my favorites. Ryan’s spot in my harem has been expanded with this one!!!
I loved to see the side characters from the Pepper Jones Series get their own story. Ryan and Indigo’s back stories were interesting and I would love to read about others in the Brockton Beasts running group. Well done.
Another phenomenal book by Ali Dean! Ryan and Indigo are part of the wonderful cast of characters from the outstanding Pepper Jones series, but their story can be read as a standalone. Chasing Indigo is another exciting Sports Romance in a long list from Ali Dean. This book is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish and this author has mastered the ability to draw the reader in and really delve into everything her MC’s are thinking and feeling. I really rooted for Ryan and Indy as they journey through their lives as elite professional runners preparing for the Olympic trials. Ali always writes her books leaving you with a feeling of running along with her characters and you don’t even have to exert yourself! I always love her books, but hate when I get to the end. I think you will enjoy this book immensely. 5 Stars!
I’ve been reading Ali Dean’s books for a while. Some of them I enjoyed, some not so much, but some of them are my favourites. Chasing Indigo is one of my favourite books written by Ali Dean. It has it all – life and struggles of a professional runners, their love for what they do, angst, nerves, insecurities and even some triggers.
When I had been reading Pepper’s series, I fell for Ryan. I really liked him, sometimes even more than Jace, so I was hoping for a Ryan’s book. I am so happy that Ali Dean wrote it. He deserved a person to be fully in love with.
Finally, Ali Dean did not rush the story, Ryan and Indigo’s relationship slowly grew into love and I enjoyed how they encountered the problems and at the end overcame them. At some moments, I hated Indigo and her self-pitying, but Ryan was everything and more. Definitely recommend.

From the moment Ryan Harding was introduced in the Pepper Jones series I always wanted good things for him. He was so sweet and this book finally gives us a good glimpse into who Ryan Harding really is and I loved that he got his own story.
Indigo is smart and funny and a great match for the group. They are so great together.
Such a sweet and fun read!

We watched Pepper and Jace grow up, fall in love, fall apart, and fall back together again. Now it’s finally Ryan’s chance to find his forever love. I always loved Ryan’s character while reading Pepper’s stories. Part of me so wanted him to find his happy ending with Pepper, but I knew it just wasn’t meant to be. In “Chasing Indigo”, Ryan is finally getting his chance to find love. Ali Dean is one of my favorite authors not only because of her beautiful writing, but also her great ability to keep me engaged and wanting more of each character. I love how we follow Indigo as she pursues a level of running she never expected to be at. Her desire and motivation made me want to get up and start running- though that never works out as well for me as it does for her! I physically felt each heartache and joy as she did, and I adored her character. You do not have to read Pepper’s books to understand this one, but it does give you a bit of background to some of the characters! I definitely give this one a 5 star, must read rating!
Okay, so, I always liked Ryan Harding more than Jace. Don’t hate me. Ryan goes after what he wants. And he wants Indigo! I was always a bit salty because I wanted Pepper with Ryan, but now I’m happy that Ali Dean knows her characters better than I do. Because Indigo is much better for him.
He was swoony, possessive, sexy, athletic, and I just kept visualizing him in athletic shorts. I die. Also, in grey sweat pants. What is it about grey sweats? Phew! It’s hot over here!
Indigo is new to us, we only got a glimpse of her in the last Pepper book. But I liked her better than Pepper too. She’s real. She has problems like the rest of us, which is why I never related much to Pepper. Indigo learns quickly from mistakes and doesn’t keep doing the same stupid shit over and over. That’s what I LOVE in a heroine. You can have doubts once, but after you’ve been shown who to trust, you don’t get to have any more doubts.
There was a super epilogue for all fans in this universe. Pepper and Jase, Kendra…

Ryan Harding was the sweetest man! I am so happy that he got his happy ending because he was such a great friend to Pepper. It’s always refreshing to read a book when the male lead recognizes when that one woman is different and focuses on her. Ryan is the best!
Finally, Ryan Harding gets his own happily every after! I loved Ryan and the part he played in Pepper Jones and Jace Wilder’s love story, and he was such a nice guy that I’ve wanted him to get his own love ever since. As with all of Ali Dean’s sporty romances, this book is written well, cleanly and succinctly and really makes this non-athlete feel like I am right in the middle of the grueling discipline and motivation athletes have to have (in addition to natural talent) to really succeed in their chosen sport. The book is a breezy, easy read that gave me a much needed respite from the heavy, darker books I have been reading lately (also par for the course with this author and one of the many reasons I look forward to her new releases). I was moved by Indy’s situation and the various struggles she faced, as well as by Ryan’s patience and support. Their sweet romance was nice but I didn’t feel their chemistry and love as much as I did with the couples of the Pepper Jones and Stark Springs series.
3.5 Stars
Another fabulous Ali Dean story. Indigo was intriguing from the beginning and I quickly found myself rooting for her in all area of her life. I loved reading how Indy was able to strive through her rough background in a way that felt honest and real. Having the gang from Pepped Up is always a HUGE bonus! Although I was really excited to see if Ryan got his HEA, I’ve was even happier for Indigo.
I just read two back to back books with rock stars in them so it was time to read something different so it was time to jump into the world of runners. The only other books I have read with runners in it was the Pepper Jones series by this author. If you read that series then you have met Ryan already. If you haven’t read don’t worry about it because Chasing Indigo in a standalone read. When I first met Ryan in Pepped Up I so wanted him to be the one for Pepper but that didn’t happen so I was excited to get his story because he deserves a happy ever after. Ryan is a sweet nice guy. He meets Indigo at a race. Indigo is a up and coming runner. She’s great at running and kind of unknown until she wins a big race. At that race she catches Ryan’s attention. Indigo is balancing running, working, and life things so she doesn’t jump right away at the chance to train with Ryan and his team but eventually agrees to join his team. Ryan and Indigo are have a coach and runner relationship then a friendship relationship then more. Their relationship is kind of a slow burn. Indigo has a ex boyfriend that pops up in the beginning and as Ryan and Indigo’s relationship grows I was waiting for the ex to pop back up then when he did I was surprised. This one was a really good read.
