Chasing Him is a full-length standalone novel that’s filled with angst, sexual tension, and plenty of forbidden temptation! Let Kennedy Fox take you to the South for a hot, captivating adventure that’ll surely leave your Kindles on fire!John Bishop isn’t your typical single dad.Reserved, impatient, and utterly clueless.Running the family’s bed and breakfast has many perks. Working long hours, … has many perks. Working long hours, picking up after the guests, and hearing couples going at it all night long aren’t any of them. Hooking up with girls who come to the ranch for horseback riding lessons? Best perk of them all.
That is until a baby shows up at his doorstep with a note claiming it’s his. Growing up on a ranch was anything but easy, but raising a newborn is proving to be the hardest task he’ll ever tackle. Leaving the bachelor life behind, his only priority is to hire a nanny who can teach him a thing or two about parenting—except he doesn’t anticipate her being gorgeous and quirky with an unhealthy football obsession.
Mila Carmichael has many talents—making balloon animals, creating origami art, and remaining in the friend zone. Often seen as one of the guys, she’s struck out more times than a rookie baseball player.
Seeking a new adventure, she flies to Texas to visit family and is offered a position she can’t refuse. Helping out a new dad should come easy to her, considering her past experience, but what she doesn’t anticipate is him being an attractive Southern temptation.
But that’s only the beginning.
While growing close to his family and falling madly in love with the baby girl who’s stealing their hearts, things are bound to get complicated. Everyone knows not to mix business with pleasure. That means no late movie nights, no stolen glances, and definitely no kissing behind closed doors. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll threaten taking away the main thing that binds them together.
A singe dad/nanny romance—This is book 3 in the Bishop Brothers series. Each book features a different brother and can be read as a complete standalone. HEA guaranteed!

The Kennedy Fox twosome continue their Bishop Brothers series with the story of the serious Bishop twin John and the sweet school teacher who stumbled into a nanny job while visiting her grandparents.
John Bishop has recently and unexpectedly become a single dad. His entire focus has shifted to caring for his daughter and barely has time to sleep, much less take care of his family’s B&B. He desperately needs help and when he finds the perfect nanny, he’s loath to do anything that might ruin his working relationship with her. It doesn’t matter that she’s caring and kind, nor that she’s knockout who he falls for with each passing day. Will he make a move before her time to leave comes?
Constantly being in the friend zone is somewhat disheartening. So Mila Carmichael decides to visit family in Texas to take a break. She was only going to stay for a few weeks, but when she got hired as a nanny she slowly fell in love with the baby girl she’s caring for, her family and her sexy yet reserved father who put up impenetrable walls. But after some mixed signal, she knows the attraction isn’t one sided. Can she break down his walls before it’s too late?
It seems all the Bishop brothers are as stubborn as they are sexy. John and Mila’s relationship develops at a slow, simmering pace. They dance around their growing attraction with a sweet and sexy rhythm and the novel unfolds with both drama and sparks. Despite his serious reluctance, John gradually shows his soft and very mature side, showing his deep love for Mila.
And as with the previous books, Kennedy Fox include all the Bishop family with their funny, kind and caring ways. I truly enjoyed reading not just about Mila and John but about the entire family.
Chasing Him is rife with captivating romantic elements. A strong and loyal hero, a smart and caring heroine, charming secondary characters, a slow burn romance with sizzling sexy times and strong family values. A definite must read page turner. It is book #3 of the Bishop Brothers series under the Kennedy Fox alias. It is standalone southern contemporary romance told by both points of view with a happy ending and a preamble into the next book.
There’s nothing like a Bishop man to light your fire! John & Jackson Bishop are twins. John is the more quiet one while Jackson is the wild child. John runs a bed and breakfast on the family ranch and stays under the radar. So you can only imagine it was a super shocker when a baby is dropped at his door with a note stating that he is the father! OMG! I couldn’t believe it!
There are so many feels in this book! John is total swoon-worthy! He is sexy, sweet, strong, and adorable! Mila is sweet, caring, and compassionate. I loved the build up to the relationship between Mila and Jackson. There are scenes where you laugh and some where you will cry but you also get the steamy goodness that Kennedy Fox always delivers!
I am never disappointed with a Bishop brother and this is no different. It has all of the feels and then some. It was heartbreaking at times, funny, charming, beautiful, and sexy!!! What more can you ask for? This dynamic duo continues to amaze me with their writing talent. I highly recommend reading it!
YYYYAAASSS this book was everything. This series just keeps getting better and better. I say I love one Bishop Brother, then I read the next, and fall harder for that one. John is probably my favorite, but judging based on how this series is going, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jackson (the last Bishop brother) becomes my new favorite.
This was such a good book. I mean, it’s Kennedy Fox… I always love their books they write. I ALWAYS gush when writing a review – it’s too hard to put into words what their books mean to me. I can’t express what I feel without fangirling like crazy… It’s just not possible.
Y’all seriously need to read this series like yesterday.
I love all of these Bishop brothers but John just stole the top spot!
John is working long, hard hours at the family B&B when he opens the door to find that someone left a baby on his doorstep. He falls fast and hard for his little girl but is in desperate need of some help raising her.
Mila is in town visiting her grandparents when she is hired to be the nanny. Almost immediately, there is an attraction between her and John that you can just feel jump right off those pages.
I have been waiting for John’s book and I really enjoyed the story! Mila and John’s chemistry is amazing and I loved the way their relationship was fun, sexy and yet sweet. It was also great to see characters from the other books make appearances and that we get to catch up with them. I love the banter between all the Bishop brothers and as eager as I am to read Jackson’s story, I’ll be sad to see the series end!
Each book in this series gets better and better, and with each book my love for the Bishop boys grows. I can say without a doubt that John is my favourite Bishop brother, he is the total swoon-worthy package and one hot AF sexy single dad.
I loved every word in this book and I devoured it in one afternoon around the pool in Rome.
John is the sensible Bishop brother, the level-headed twin, complete contrast to his twin brother Jackson.
we got glimpse into John’s story in Evan’s book and oh did my heart break and the tears pour out at the first part of the book when John finds a baby on his doorstep and reads the letter left for him by the mother. With his world thrown upside down he is desperate to do everything he can for his beautiful baby girl and he is in desperate need for some help in the form of Mila, his new Nanny.
The connection and tension between them is palpable and scorching from soon as they meet but they both draw the professional line as the beautiful little girl is their priority. The way the romance built up slowly between them was beautiful to watch develop, although I did want to slap John’s head a few times and say stop being stupid.
Kennedy Fox have outdone themselves with this gripping instalment. They have brought the raw emotions to make your heart cry, they have made you cringe with Jackson’s stupidity, they have made you laugh with the banter and some humourous moments but they have also made you swoon with some seriously sweet romance. They have delivered the perfect recipe in this book.
After the peaks into Jackson’s story and the blurb revealed at the end I have a feeling that the last book in this series is going to be quite the ride and quite the roller-coaster and I can’t bloody wait!!!!
Chasing Him was an emotional slow burn Single Dad and the Nanny romance. With each Bishop Brother book, the writing just keeps getting better and I’m waiting impatiently for Jackson’s book.
We briefly meet Bailey in Needing Him, but when John finds out that he has a child and reads the letter from Bailey; my heart broke for John and his baby girl. After a month of trying to adjust to now being a single father, John is in need of some help. Mila was just going to be in Texas for a month while waiting to hear if she gets a teaching job in Georgia. Mama Bishop is playing matchmaker and asks Mila to help her son with her newest granddaughter. Sparks fly at the first meeting but can John stick to his RULES?
I have said it with the other two books, but it just keeps getting better. The brother’s bantering is the best parts and that is all thanks to Jackson most of the time. I am in love with this family and it was good to see Courtney and Drew again.
Awwww, John … he’s such a big softie! I’m pretty new to this series with only reading Evan’s book and now John’s, so I’d say my background knowledge of him was very little. I just remember the scene where the cutest little baby showed up on his doorstep essentially gaining the new title of new dad. Since then, I’ve been waiting to get my hands on his story! This was such an endearing read and I enjoyed every single bit of it.
I loved that we got to witness two sides of John. He’s dedicated to his B&B making sure his guests are happy and that keeps him plenty busy. And then we see him taking the role of father so easily especially after the circumstances of how he gained beautiful little Maize. It has definitely been a while since I’ve read a good single father/nanny romance, they tend to be a bit corny, but I was all about John and Mila’s story. The other side of John that I enjoyed seeing was his much softer one, not just as a father, but also when it came to his devotion to Mila and seeing his flashbacks of when he was with Maize’s mom. With his hard exterior and someone who takes his responsibilities seriously, I loved seeing his vulnerable side.
Mila was a perfect fit for John and it was a smooth transition for her to be the nanny for Maize. As always this series would be nothing without Mama Bishop constantly trying to play matchmaker with her boys. Even though her stay in Texas was supposed to be temporary, she fell in deep with John and it got to the point where she had to pick between her heart and her dream. The one part of her story that had a loose end was her friendship with Cade, he was the man that she pined for, for years and even though that story did have an end to it. It just seemed like it came to a dead stop with no mention of him again, which also made me wonder if he was necessary to the story?
The Bishop family is an absolute riot, I love the deep loyalty they have for each other. And one specific Bishop I’m worried and curious to read about is John’s twin, Jackson. He popped up in this book quite a bit, probably more than I expected, which planted the little seed that I’m just overeager to know his story. He’s definitely the reckless and wild brother, but I have a feeling emotions run deep with him and a lot of it he has been keeping stowed away for such a long time. More than anything, I’m expecting some major crying with Jackson and Kiera’s story.
I definitely enjoyed Chasing Him and hanging out with the Bishop family again!
After Evan and Emily, John and Mila are my second favorite couple. It’s never a dull moment in the Bishop household.
John is very reserved compared to his crazy identical twin brother Jackson. So when book 2 left on that cliffhanger about him I was more intrigued by him because he’s so responsible. When this book started where it left off I knew that it wasn’t because he was irresponsible but because of a tragedy. John is my favorite Bishop brother. He handled being a single dad like a champ with so many issues. He put his life on hold until his mom got him a nanny. A young gorgeous nanny.
Mila was visiting her grandparents in Texas while waiting to be called for interviews for teaching jobs when the opportunity card up for her to be a nanny to a newborn. When she found out it was to a gorgeous sexy single dad cowboy she was stunned. They fell into a routine and attraction was immediately but this was a very slow burn.
Mila and John were obviously attracted to each other and developing feelings but they didn’t say anything to each other. John was to respectful to cross that line with his daughter nanny. Mila thru caution to the wind and made the first move. After that things heated up.
There was some very emotional parts which tugged at my heart. Other than that it was no drama and very cute read with an adorable baby girl. I can’t wait to see how much this couple grows in Jackson’s book. Now he’s the one I can’t wait to see tamed. He’s too much, lol.
John and Jackson Bishop may be twins, but they are about as opposite as they come. But ladies, don’t let John’s reserved demeanor and thoughtful countenance deter you from choosing the quiet one of this Bishop pair because John Bishop has an amazing heart and the capacity to love with everything that he is, and even though he’s not as ‘in your face’ as his counterpart, John doesn’t lack self-esteem; it’s just his fears that seem to catch him up when it comes to a woman meaning something to him other than a night in his bed, and while John never imagined his life would be forever changed in the ways that it is when a certain little lady enters his life, he wouldn’t take back those stolen moments with Maize’s mom, claiming his daughter with every fiber of his being, or finding a way past his fears in order to have the life that he and his baby girl deserve.
I absolutely adored Mila Carmichael. She’s a sassy, intelligent, and caring woman who is known as the ‘baby whisperer’ because she knows exactly what children need and has a way of putting them at ease just by her warm presence. Her decision to leave her hometown in Georgia to visit her gram in Texas might have been in order to chase away her blues over something that will never be, what she doesn’t know is that it’s in Texas where she’ll actually find a family, a little girl, and one gorgeous man who shows her heart what it’s always needed.
There’s nothing like being around the Bishop family, and throughout the course of Kennedy Fox’s Bishop Brothers series, readers have proclaimed themselves as honorary members, which I think Mama Bishop wouldn’t mind too much because she is always so welcoming and giving of her time and her care. It’s amazing when the Bishops rally around each other and keep one another in check, and as the family continues to grow, the love and warmth that surrounds each and every one of them is something that every human being should have or at least experience in their lifetime because it illustrates the importance of family and what a gift it is to have people by one’s side regardless of the mistakes or negative situations that occur, and because the Bishops have Jackson to contend with, there’s bound to be a shitstorm or two to deal with because he’s a loose cannon that loves to rile his family up at all times.
Chasing Him is a slow burn romance – one that showcases the different types of love that are essential to have in one’s life. There are a lot of unexpected circumstances in John and Mila’s story, and while some are easier to deal with than others, what stands out is the fact that despite wanting to run away when John and/or Mila become overwhelmed, they work through things and gain quite a perspective because of it.
The biggest lesson that John and Mila’s story teaches readers is to not leave anything unsaid…to say the things that might be difficult or result in negative consequences because life is too short not to risk things. Time is precious, especially when life gives someone the person who was meant to be his, which means that fears need to be chased away in order to chase one’s dreams, even if they get redesigned along the way.
4.5 Poison Apples
DILF is exactly what John Bishop is!! But besides Jackson what Bishop isn’t? It’s just that John seems to give new meaning to the word..lol. I love how once you start reading one of these books it’s like coming home and I know I’ve said it before but it’s the truth. You start reading and the the next thing you know is your lost in a world that you know and love. And you are laughing, and crying, and getting mad or freakin out right along with them. Or you or like why are you doing this you idiot!!! And that’s exactly what a great book is supposed to do, is make you lost in its world and take you away from your’s just for a little bit. And I can count on Kennedy Fox to do that with every single book I’ve ever read!! And I’ll tell y’all a secret I’ve been waiting for the twins’ books!!! And John’s couldn’t have been more perfect!! How you get to see such a softer side of him and a funny side to him just swoon!! I mean that just did it for me I mean add soft side+funny side+loves his baby+hot in bed= panties disintegrate!!! So I think I’ll leave you with that and I can’t wait for Jackson’s book!!! I highly highly recommend this book and this series!!!! – By Tina
I will fully admit that I knew I was going to love John’s character way back when Courtney traveled home in the Drewtney duet. I did NOT plan to fall hard for this sexy, silent man when he yells at our heroine in just a towel! #HOT and immediate love!
At the end of Needing Him, readers were left with the surprise of a baby on John’s doorstep between him and a woman he had dated the year before. After a heartbreaking beginning, little Maize is thrown into the arms of a new dad who’s got no clue what to do. Thankfully the Bishops are a family built on love and John has all the support he could ask for. But even siblings, spouses, and parents can’t be there 24/7 and John’s struggling to stay afloat when a solution flies into town. Mila’s the full package and the perfect solution to John’s baby problems…he just has to keep his hands off her.
Mila is looking forward to her time in Texas away from the heartbreak of her best friend not loving her the way she dreamed he would. But where one door closes, another opens, when her grandmother’s friend offers her a part time job during her visit. Her son’s n desperate need of a nanny and Mila comes with all the qualifications. The hitch? Daddy John is SUPER attractive, sweet, and funny. Playing nanny quickly turns into playing house. But reality sets in and at the end of the their arrangement Mila has to decide: a chance at her dream career or a forever home with John and Maize.
It has been a hot minute since a book has made me cry. But KF fully had me sobbing when Mila had to decide what she wanted to go for: love or career. I was honestly fighting in my head about it alongside her. There is an INSTANT chemistry between John and Mila and the way their relationship blooms and flourishes as they both care for baby Maize was so endearing. I wanted to hug my kindle half the time! Chasing Him is filled with warmth, light, and happiness until that fateful climax. Not only is this a slooooow burn novel but once it heats up…my god! I knew I would love this couple! Heartbreak and lessons abut what family really means is what this love story is all about!! KF seem to outdo themselves with each passing Bishop and I know that Jackson’s book is going to be EXPLOSIVE. As usual, prepare yourself for one hell of an ending….it will leave you SHAKEN.
Book three of the Bishop Brothers series, Chasing Him can be read as a standalone. Although, I feel its best read in order. The relationships between the large cast of characters would be better appreciated if the prior stories are read.
John is the last one his family thought would end up with a baby on his doorstep, but it happened. He steps up to the plate and is a good dad, but ill prepared for it. Mila is visiting her grandparents and cousin when she gets asked to nanny and help John out, so he can continue to run his family’s ranch. She’s a bright soul, amazing with children and licking her wounds a bit after being heartbroken. These two have chemistry from the first time they meet, and watching these two fall in love was so much fun.
I really enjoyed Chasing Him. This family and their loved ones are easy to get lost with. The story is low drama, but packs a punch when it does show up. I found Chasing Him to be well written and paced evenly, I had trouble putting it down when real life called. I would reccomend to the reader looking for a sexy, hardworking single dad and the sweet woman who will take him to his knees.
*4.5 Star review*
“I’ll never resent falling in love with you but letting you go is something I’ll always regret even if it’s the right thing to do.”
John Bishop, you sweet, sweet man. Ladies, Kennedy Fox’s latest Bishop Brother will have you swooning from head to toe! If you’ve been waiting for John Bishop’s happily ever after since the beginning, just like me, well, you are in for quite a romantic, delectable, and emotional treat. I loved everything about John and Mila’s love story! From the amazing writing, to the quick and easy pace, to the delicious and angsty slow burn, nothing could have teared me away from this book!
Hot! Charming! Emotional! Entertaining! Fun! These are just some of the words that describe CHASING HIM by Kennedy Fox. I laughed. I cried. I swooned and I blushed. John Bishop and the way he took to fatherhood with the tremendous help from his family and Mila, was so beautiful that I had tears in my eyes almost instantly. This sexy and emotional adventure is just what I needed to make my day even brighter! If you haven’t started this MUST READ SERIES, what are you waiting for?
Kennedy Fox has done it again. The love, support, and family bond that surrounds the Bishop family cannot be matched.
John is a new father who is running on no sleep and doesn’t know how he is going to keep juggling it all.
Mila has just graduated and is looking to get away for a bit to visit her family
As events play out, Mila becomes John’s nanny.
Mila is an amazing heroine. She is kind, compassionate, and known as the “baby whisperer.” I loved her personality and that she was strong and sassy when she needed to be.
John is somewhat broken. He is going through the motions and lives with a lot of guilt. He has always been the more subdued brother, but even more so now that he has a baby to raise.
I really enjoyed the slow burn of this relationship. It made it real and you were able to see them grow together as a family. They always put the other’s needs first and truly proved that their love was unconditional.
As always it was so much fun being back on the Bishop farm and seeing the family grow. I am not impatiently waiting for Jackson’s book. I feel like this book showed more of this true personality that he tries hide behind his crazy antics. He is such a mysterious character because he keeps so much of himself hidden from everyone…even his family.
