Nick can do that. As far as he’s concerned, it’s game on princess.
With no obvious motives, everyone is a suspect, and he won’t rest until she’s safe.

This is the first book in this series and is a good well-written action-packed read. It had a really interesting storyline that had me one the edge of my seat wanting to know what happened next I liked this book and will be looking out for the rest of the series.
Ahhh… we have one pain in the derriere fiesty ‘princess’…. but what is said about first impressions? They can be sooooo wrong. Fiesty, yes…. but princess? Nope. Lauren is not princess material. She comes across clueless. Her truths are far from reality and she is her own worst enemy.
Then we have one newly hired detective Nick Moore who learns quickly he’s not welcome in his new town or his new job.
And there’s a mystery of sorts where someone is gunning for that princess. We have her ex wanting her back. But why? Why does he want her now when he certainly didn’t want her when they were together. Why now?
Just who is the real culprit? What role does the aunt and step brother play. Is this a loving family or is everything all pretend? Betcha Nick can sniff it out. After all Nick is no small town detective… at least not normally. Nick Moore knows how to bring the A-game into play. And that A-game has him finding himself protecting Lauren.
Chasing Her Trust had romance, suspense and even those times where I found myself laughing. It had a good mystery to it and I wasn’t sure who was behind all the threats that Lauren was receiving until the end. Lauren and Nick had great chemistry together and although started off not understanding each other, they got there pretty quickly with some funny times along the way. This was the first time I’ve read Danielle Pays and I look forward to reading more.
