If you have been reading the Nights in Bliss, Colorado Series you’ll remember meeting the HOT mechanics, Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair, or as Gemma likes to refer to them – The Sweet One and The Bare-Chested Ape Man 😉 Seriously though these two men are as close as brothers and well, in a way they are. We get to know more about the boys and newcomer Gemma in this addition to the series.
Gemma is a hoot, I tell you she is perfect for Jesse and Cade. She is sweet yet brash, she’s been screwed over in more ways than she’d care to talk about and letting a man get close isn’t in the cards let alone two of them but Ms. Blake, who is writing as Sophie Oak, really knows how to make things work with the hardest of couples.
This story isn’t all flowers and rainbows, there is someone sending Gemma threatening notes and packages, but again if you’ve read any of this series you know there is always a bit of suspense to the stories, and Jesse as well as Cade have to keep their girl safe….if she’ll let them.
While each of the books in this series can be read as a standalone I would suggest reading them in order because the town folk do play a big part throughout each of the stories and if you don’t know their pasts it can be a huge spoiler. The town of Bliss Colorado is the place to be if you are looking for a great menage story that doesn’t only revolve around the HOT sexy times but also gives you something to sink your teeth into story wise. Happy Reading!!!
Gemma is an attorney who’s world comes crashing down and she loses everything in one night. She moves to Bliss with her mother and decides love is not for her. Cade and Jesse have moved around a lot but when Jesse meets Gemma, he thinks he’s found a home. Cade likes Gemma but doesn’t think he’s good enough for her. Both Cade and Jesse had rough childhoods and met in a foster home. But when Gemma starts receiving threatening mail, and then her ex shows up, the guys will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
Funny, sexy, and suspense plus the characters of Bliss. A strong, slightly sarcastic woman and two hot mechanics.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for the author *
CHASING BLISS is the seventh instalment in Lexi Blake’s (aka Sophie Oak) contemporary, adult NIGHTS IN BLISS, COLORADO erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women of Bliss, Colorado. This is mechanics and best friends thirty year old Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair, and thirty year old attorney Gemma Wells’ story line. CHASING BLISS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: CHASING BLISS is a re-release of the author’s 2012 release originally written as Sophie Oak. CHASING BLISS is an M/F/M romance and contains graphic sexual ménage situations that may not be suitable for all readers.
Told from three third person perspectives (Jesse, Cade, Gemma) CHASING BLISS follows in the wake of attorney Gemma Wells discovering the to whom she was engaged in bed with someone else. Heading home to Bliss, Colorado following a mental breakdown wherein she lost her job and her self-respect, Gemma’s reputation as a hard-nosed, take no prisoners attitude precedes our heroine arrival to town. Meeting mechanics Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair stirred something deep within our story line heroine, something she never expected but was hoping to uncover. Several threats against Gemma places our heroine in the direct line of fire, threats that will target the men with whom she is falling in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Gemma, Jesse and Cade, and the potential fall-out as Gemma’s past comes seeking revenge in an effort to destroy and hide any information she may have uncovered.
Jesse and Cade have been best friends since their days in the foster care system but meeting Gemma Wells gave the men thoughts for a future, a future Cade believes he doesn’t deserve. Hoping to prove herself worthy of both men, Gemma struggles with her own attitude and history, and her ability to turn on a moments notice.
The relationship between Gemma, Jesse and Cade is one of immediate attraction but Gemma’s acerbic personality leaves something to be desired. Seeing Gemma as something more than the sum of her attitude and strong-willed emotional outbursts Jesse is determined to prove she is worthy of love but Cade is determined to prove he is unworthy of both. Heart breaking childhoods push Cade to walk away while Jesse struggles to keep everyone together. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense with M/F/M sexual situations.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters, most of whom we have met in previous instalments. Bliss, Colorado is a town whose residents tend to find happiness in polygamous relationships, relationships wherein everyone gets his and her and his own happily ever after.
CHASING BLISS is an intriguing story of betrayal and vengeance. The character driven premise is inviting and imaginative; the romance is encouraging, spicy and raw; the characters are energetic, animated and flirty. CHASING BLISS is a spirited, sexy and sassy story of love, drama, and intrigue.
Chasing Bliss is the 7th book in the Nights of Bliss series. Sophie Oak/Lexi Blake you blow me away with your Dedications. They always leave me tearful.
This is Gemma Wells, Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair’s story. Gemma is an attorney, running away from a scandal. Jesse and Cade are living in Bliss working as mechanics.
I love this town of Bliss! Where else can you go that you get a two-fer? 2 HAWT men for 1 woman.
We have heard of both Jesse & Cade in the previous book. Jesse knows immediately that Gemma is his one and Jesse is willing and wants to share with Cade. But Cade doesn’t think he is worthy of her love and he keeps trying to run even though he is very attracted to Gemma.
When someone is attempting to get rid of Gemma. Jesse and Cade are trying to protect her.
Gemma is a strong woman but she can become a hot, quivering mess in the bedroom with these 2 tough guys.
As per usual Sophie Oak aka Lexi Blake leaves me in the same condition as Gemma by the time I am finished reading her books! 4.5 stars
Chasing Bliss by Lexi Blake is book 7 in the Nights in Bliss. This is the story of Gemma Wells, Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair. I have been reading the books in order, and I think that added to my enjoyment. The previous characters from previous books are a sold show in all the books, but if you don’t want to read them in order you can do so. This book and series has had some hot scene, some funny scene and the hot alpha males. Gemma is an attorney that doesn’t come off to friendly at first but we start to learn why she has so many guards up. Jesse is all in pretty quick where Cade has issues with his past that he feels he doesn’t deserve so one to love.
Marathon read for me.. couldn’t put the book down.

It’s crazy to see that I read the first edition of by Lexi Blake (writing as Sophie Oak) back in December of 2012, and yet the moment I started this second edition, I felt like no time went by at all. I loved this series, these characters, the author’s ability to make me FEEL all the things, when I first discovered it…but now, if it’s at all possible, I love ALL OF IT even more this time around. Gemma, Jesse, and Cade’s journey is brimming with heat, humor, emotion, and suspense. There is love, heart, and hope scattered throughout each and every single page…you’ll end up having no choice but to fall…and fall hard for this town, for these quirky and lovable characters, and for their wonderful story. I hardly have the time to reread some of my favorite romances, and I hate that…but reading these second editions of some of Lexi Blake’s work is a constant reminder of why I fell in love with the genre in the first place. It’s pushing me to browse my bookshelves and pick up a story that I loved…a story that I remember so fondly, and to hopefully experience that fondness all over again.

5 Star Review Chasing Bliss (Nights In Bliss Colorado# 7) by Sophie Oak
Running from a scandal that she hasn’t gotten over, Gemma Wells , an attorney, has settled in Bliss with her mother. She has put up walls and is determined to not let any man in again, let alone two.
Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair were introduced in the previous book and they captured my attention from the first moment they were mentioned. Initially arriving in Bliss to seek revenge (which they achieved) they now appear to have settled in Bliss for the time being.
All that changes when Jesse meets Gemma. He is besotted and believes that he has finally found “the one”. Cade is equally enamoured but his dark past means that he is more standoffish as he feels he doesn’t deserve her.
When Gemma’s fiance comes to town, danger abounds. Can Jesse and Cade keep the women they have come to care for safe or will the walls that she has surrounded herself with cost her, her life?
Chasing Bliss is a fun, smoking hot read with plenty of emotions and heartache which will keep you captivated.
It is always great to revisit Bliss because you get to see glimpses of previous characters and catch up on their lives. I love the quirkiness of the characters who call Bliss home and I cannot wait for the next adventure in Bliss.
I just love my visits to Bliss! I get laughs, action, suspense, the town and it’s brand of crazy and some hot steamy action between a lucky woman and her two men. That’s the way they do it in Bliss after all. This book features Gemma Wells, a disgraced Manhattan attorney who brought her sick mama to her hometown and two mechanics, Jesse McCann and Cade Sinclair. These men met when they were placed in foster care at a sweet woman’s home and chose each other as brothers. They have spent their adult years traveling around the country partying and sharing their woman. One is running but both have baggage. Gemma hides behind her “Ice Princess” persona and is trying to get her life back after going postal on her cheating
fiancé and his girlfriend. Things are certainly happening in Bliss and you don’t want to miss the action.
Gemma is an awesome character. She was who she was & she didn’t make any excuses about it. I loved how ballsy she was, she was a perfect fit for Bliss & especially for the Sheriff’s department. Even though I wanted to smack Cade a lot I still loved him & Jesse. Another great read set in Bliss. I can’t wait to get the next books in this series. I want Henry’s & Nell’s so bad I’m trying to stop myself from skipping ahead haha!
I really enjoyed Gemma, Cade, and Jesse’s story. Gemma was a likable and relatable character. Jesse and Cade were both super hot alpha men, which never hurts. Together that were perfect, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them all in the future.
It’s never a bad idea to pick up a Lexi Blake book and start reading. In fact, I can 100% guarantee you a good time. Her characters are witty and smart, her plots are heavily sprinkled with action of both the bedroom and outside kind and she gives you a happily ever after for every couple, errr trio that she dreams up. Chasing Bliss is no different. This time it is Gemma, a lawyer turned waitress turned sheriff’s receptionist, with Cade and Jesse, mercenaries turned mechanics who are on the menage block.
As per usual the story moves at a brisk pace, allowing the reader to turn page after page as the trio fight their attraction then have to fight to stay together. This is Bliss so the requisite gun battle/kidnapping/over-all-shenanigans of the criminal kind commence surrounded by a host of side characters from other (and future) stories that peek in to add a helping hand or a laugh.
If you are in the mood for heat and action, grab a seat and visit Bliss, home of menage, alien invasions, nudists. The murder capital of the country is sure to please.
One of the reasons I love Lexi Blake’s books is because she perfectly marries super hot (and a little bit kinky) love stories with suspense and danger. And no matter how many of her books I read, I still get surprised by some of the twists and turns she implements into her stories. As you can probably predict, that was the case with Chasing Bliss as well. The book is filled with romance, heat, hope, humor and a little bit of heartbreak but the danger and suspense are never too far behind.
Gemma is an intriguing character. She is a strong and independent woman but at the same time because of the loss she lived through as a child, her heart is so tightly locked away that any sign of love or even real affections makes her hide behind her sassy and not so friendly attitude. She build her life striving for professional success and relationships without emotion. Until all that collapsed and left her with nothing but her hurt pride and even higher walls around her heart. When she moves to Bliss, she sees the small town only as a place to re-group before she starts building her life again. But you all know what they say about best laid plans and all that. Ones she meets Jesse and Cade, the attraction between them is undeniable and even with her fear of commitment and emotional relationships, Jesse’s determination and charm manages to carve a path through her walls. But as you can imagine, things are never that easy and unfortunately Jesse has not only to win Gemma but also convince Cade that there is a future for the three of them together.
Cade’s story is so heartbreaking and though it is not revealed nearly until the end of the book, the snippets here and there just tore my heart into peaces. Because of the losses he lived through as a child and as an adult, he doesn’t believe he deserves happiness. It takes quite some time and a threat to the lives of the two people he loves the most in the world for him to realize that life is so much better with them by his side and that he is worth the affection and love that they can bring him.
In the midst of this filled with hope and healing heartbreaking story, danger is lurking in the darkness and threatening the HEA that Jesse, Gemma and Cade are seeking to find. But all that only makes the story so much better and another page-turner that will glue you to your seat until you read the last word.
So be sure to get your copy as soon as possible. I am sure you won’t regret it. And though this is the seventh book in a series, it is a standalone so you can read it on it’s own. I am sure you will enjoy it more though, if you read the other books in the series first. You will also get to revisit with your favorite characters as well 😀
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Gemma’s entry in Bliss, Colorado doesn’t go unnoticed by two hot mechanics, Jesse and Cade. They’re used to sharing women, both for relationships and for something a little more casual. Jesse’s been thinking of finding a woman to settle down with, and he hopes Cade wants the same thing. Cade, the man who’s his brother from another mother, his partner. But, Cade seems put off by big city girl Gemma, even as he’s physically drawn to Gemma. Will the three of them ever be on the same page? The stalker/harasser she’s acquired since she came to Bliss will either help things along or make things even more difficult for our threesome.
I ended up really liking Chasing Bliss. I was a little surprised that I ended up liking it because I was a bit put off by Jesse’s forward bossiness and Cade’s constant pushing and pulling away. I guess the main reason I ended up liking it so much is because of Gemma. She’s awesome! The kind of heroine I like most – sassy, smart, tough and unafraid to put people (jackasses) in their place. I like how much her character grew and developed throughout the story and how perfectly she fit into her own threesome. I do wish Cade and Jesse had been as likable as Gemma, but she loved them so they get a big pass. I always say that for a ménage to be successful, the emotional and physical have to be well-balanced, and I think that balance is pulled off very successfully here in Chasing Bliss. There’s also suspense and a mystery to go along with the relationship, combining to make for a very readable, engaging story. I am definitely looking forward to more in this series now.

You have to love Bliss! Where they overshare information, and villains always winds up dead! I loved this one. Cade was always blaming himself, and Jesse knows what he wants and goes after it!
My favorite book in the series
Book 7 in the Nights in Bliss, Colorado series, this is the first book in the series where I’ve actually read all the previous books in the series first. While technically you could read this as a standalone, there are so many characters, and so much history, to this world, I recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of it.
A bit of an opposites attract story (Gemma is a former, highly successful New York lawyer, while Cade and Jesse are auto mechanics), the three all have painful pasts, pasts that have left wounds in each of them and caused them to build walls to protect themselves. This author is an expert at getting you to break your heart for her characters, and I felt like there was even more emotion than usual to this story, partly because I ADORED Gemma right from the start (imagining the diner crowd cheering as she took on Max had me laughing and grinning from ear to ear) and I related strongly to her. I felt for all of them, though, and was quickly and thoroughly pulled into their story.
As to the plot, there’s a threat to remove and a bad guy to vanquish, while someone *cough Cade cough* works on removing his head from his backside and learns to accept what’s in front of him; I didn’t want to put this down as I cheered for the three to get their hea. Of choice, this wouldn’t be Bliss without Nate and Cam and all the other, wonderful, crazy characters I’ve come to know, and I’m looking forward to finally getting Nell and Henry’s backstory in the next book.
With the usual great blending of humor, heat, suspense and pathos, it’s the characters who make this my favorite book in the series. 5+ stars

This is my favorite one yet! I loved how Jesse was all in after one glimpse of Gemma. Cade needed some convincing but only because he feared caring for someone who could hurt him in the end. Gemma was sassy and I loved her banter with Cam. I enjoy friendships like Gemma and Cam’s. I’m such a fan of all the side characters showing up in every book. I grow to love them more and more. Most of them are insane but that’s the charm of these books. I can’t wait to read more!
Jesse, Cade, and Gemma… What a fantastic trio and that’s just what Bliss does best right…lol
No career, no fiance, no plans except to take care of her Mom. Gemma is just not sure what to expect life to throw at her next but I seriously doubt she was expecting Jesse and Cade…lol
2 gorgeous mechanics, one unsure of herself lawyer who can’t keep a job in the small town of Bliss but Jesse and Cade just can’t stay away from the woman they both want… okay so maybe Jesse wants and Cade is running scared…lol but it’s a fun, wild ride with these three I just loved it.
Gemma, Cade, and Jesse pack an emotional punch. Not because they are woebegone, but because they appear to have it all together. On the inside though, they have the same crippling moments of anxiety most people do. They face it alone, and when they finally realize they can rely on each other, everything falls into place for them!
Gemma can fight it all she wants but Cade and Jesse get what they want. Lexi Blake doesn’t disappoint with a strong and independent heroine, and out leading men, strong, a little broken, sexy and sweet. Jesse has to work hard to get Case to work with him, but the two together are a force that Gemma cannot deny! Another great trip to Bliss!
And now we get Gemma, Jesse, and Cade all new to the Bliss town of Colorado. But are all part of the craziness we have come to love. Gemma is hiding out and taking care of her mother who is in all fairness a hippie and is part of the Bliss craziness more than her daughter at first.
Jesse and Cade we met in the last book when they were looking for Holly’s ex-husband. But now that they have their business all finished up they are finally ready to settle down, and Gemma has caught their eye. But she is so headstrong, take charge, and well bull-headed that what is right in front of her she might miss before it is too late.
I really hope this is not the last book we get out of this crazy but wonderful town of Bliss!
