A Christmas visit to Summer Lake. Loved to hear about Ivan he was still awesome. Kudos to Mr. Davenport for the ending. Didn’t care much for Abbie though but usually love the leads. Glad them worked through there issues though.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Abbie was a wild child, but those days are over.
Now, she is trying to take care of her mother.
It is time to settle down.
Ivan was not sure if small town life was for him.
Now, he loves it.
Are these 2 destined for each other ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This is another book in the Summer Lake series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Ivan and Abbie’s story is so good! The characters are great, I really enjoyed their story! Of course, I love all of SJ McCoy’s books. This is a must-read!
CHASE THE BLUES AWAY is a standalone read with a HEA. It is part of a series but you won’t feel lost reading. It is set in Summer Lake, a small town with lots of heart and friends. Ivan is starting a new job as head of a charity foundation for the billionaire Mr. D. Ivan was his driver for years but since he is moving to Summer Lake he no longer needs a driver. Ivan is more than just a driver, he is a friend and confidant. Mr. D. gives him the use of a small mansion as well as the job. It is an adjustment for Ivan, an ex-Army guy. But living in a small town, making friends and enjoying being in one place is agreeing with him. And then he spots Abbie.
He is immediately attracted to her but she tells him no thanks. She has had enough bad boys, she is looking for the picket fence, 2.5 kids and a dog. Ivan has no intentions or interest in marrying. This is their story. A bit of drama as Abbie is trying to find her place in the world and take care of a widowed mother who is really trying to find her place in life. She has a great mother. This is a very good story and I highly recommend it. A great read from start to finish. Was just unhappy that it ended. A good read you don’t want to pass up.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 11/28/2019 Great way to spend Thanksgiving. Reading a good book. Give thanks for good authors that share their talent with the rest of us.

I absolutely loved SJ McCoys latest installment at Summer Lake “Chase the Blues Away”. This is book four in the Summer Lake Seasons book. From the beginning I felt this book was different to previous books by SJ. It was more edgier with the main characters Ivan and Abbie having risqué past. Both of the main characters have had their own heartaches with the lost of one or both parents. I was cheering them on from the get go. I also love the subplot of Neil and Merry. I also am trying to work out what Cassie and Colts history will be too. This was a well written lovely story. I am glad it had a Christmas theme giving the time of year too. I would recommend the book as a great read. I also loved Ivan’s relationship with Abbie’s mum Nina. It was lovely to see how much he loved Abbie and valued her relationship with her mum throughout the book. The reformation of both characters into loving, kind and generous people was fitting. I feel they both were probably quite hard in themselves Ivan for his wild past and Abbie for leaving her parents behind and not coming back in time to help them both. I was so happy to see Nina move on to and is learning to live on her own.
Bravo SJ another fantastic book.
This is another great contemporary romance from SJ McCoy. I will say that I didn’t fall in love with Abbie at first. In fact, she quite angered me. But, Ivan saved the day. If you are like me, and Abbie got on your nerves, give her a chance to grow as a character. This book is part of a series, and lots of characters from other books are in this book, but if you want to read this as a stand alone, then you can. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger. And once Abbie gets her head out of her rear, the book will melt your heart.
I’ve been waiting for Ivan’s book since we originally met him, this book was great. Really enjoyed Ivan and Abbie and all the changes that not only these two went through but her mom as well, to put all their pasts in the past and to look forward to a great future. I always love when we get to see our friends and of course Seymour but I was so happy seeing Gramps again in this book. This book had a perfect HEA for Ivan and Abbie and in a round about way Abbie’s mom as well and can I say Seymour’s gesture for Ivan was a perfect touch for the two of them and their growing relationship. My all time favorite line was, ‘Just dive in, be brave’. Ivan’s book is definitely one of my new favorites from author S.J. McCoy and I’m really enjoying this group of our Summer Lake friends. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book from this author.
Wow, another great visit to Summer Lake. I loved Abbie and Ivan’s story and all the characters. The book captivated me from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down. The book is also a great Christmas read and deals with Christmas after the loss of a loved one.
I received the book for free but truly loved it and voluntarily leave my review.

As always with SJs stories I found myself drawn into the story and transported to Summer Lake! I was hoping Ivan would get his own story ever since we first got to meet in Chris and Seymours book. This is Ivan and Abbie’s story and I am sure you will love them just as much as I did.
This is the 4th book in this series and is Ivan and Abbie’s story. Abbie is back home to help her Mom after her Dad passes away, and she is trying hard to make amends for her past. Ivan is drawn to Abbie and sees beneath the persona that she perceives to be. These two have undeniable chemistry between them, but can Ivan convince Abbie to take a chance on them? This is a beautifully written story which had me hooked and intrigued throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.
