From New York Times Bestselling Authors Krista & Becca Ritchie, comes the next installment in the highly addictive Like Us series.Oscar Oliveira & Jack Highland’s romance. M/M Contemporary RomanceOfficial synopsis coming in 2020!
It is currently 6 AM, I’ve been up all night reading this amazing and beautiful book. I’m sleep deprived and I’m hungry, but it was 100% worth it.
This really is the perfect standalone romance novel. Oscar and Jack are the cutest and softest couple of the series so far. Their support and love for each other makes me giddy. I loved the angst and drama at the beginning of the book, which later turned into this beautiful romance. *swoon* While I’m sad this is the only book they get, I really couldn’t have asked for a better story for them.
This book picks up right where book 6 ends. Oscar is dealing with the most embarrassing moment of his life and Jack is trying to figure out his feelings for Oscar. We see a whole different side to these characters, these characters have been seen at a very surface level in past books, and here we finally take a dive into their thoughts and personalities here. And let me tell you there was a lot to unpack here.
I loved meeting Jack and Oscar’s families. Jack’s younger brother Jesse was adorable! One of my favorite supporting characters in this book. I really enjoyed seeing Oscar’s relationship with his siblings. His relationship with his younger sister Joana was filled with love, while Oscar and Quinn’s broke my heart.
We also see a lot of Charlie Cobalt! At the beginning of the story he decides he wants his own show, for reasons unknown to us. I loved seeing just a glimpse of the way he thinks and makes decisions. We see a little bit of a softer and more compassionate side of him (just a bit). But I really can’t wait to see his POV, I really hope one day we get it. And I think I saw a little tease of his romance there at the end. He deserves love and happiness and not to have so much pain inside him ahhh. His friendship with Oscar was unexpected and beautiful.
Next we (finally!) have Sulli’s romance. This has been a long time coming, and we’ve finally made it. The ending of this book sets us her romance really well for the next book and I honestly cannot wait. Sulli is my favorite character and I am so excited to have her POV. It’s going to be wild…

First of all, the narration for this book was just amazing. Teddy Hamilton really shined as Jack. His inner monologues, especially in the beginning with his confused feelings were delivered with the perfect mix of frustration and desire. Brian Pallino really showed off his accent work as Oscar. His Portuguese was like silk. And you could really feel Oscar’s many emotions in the performance.
The main story was super steamy and heartfelt. But there were some plotlines that I found a bit far fetched. And unfortunately that took me out of the story sometimes. It felt like drama for the sake of drama.
I liked the relationship between Oscar and Jack. And found Charlie to be an interesting character. But this book did feel like dragged a little at times.

I was a little hesitant about this one because I accidentally read a negative nelly review. Its clear though that the person blasting Jack on their review didn’t actually listen to anything he said. I feel vindicated knowing that their dislike of this novel is their own hang ups and not Jack and Oscar!
Oscar is a delight. His random snacking, his quick wit, and his amazing friendships make it clear he’s the kind of guy you want to know. Getting this inside track on his mind, his crush, and his life was like a cheat day at the gym. I wantes to devour it all. Oscar is a fudge brownie after 3 weeks of kale!
Add in the mysterious, flirty producer and I was definitely intrigued!
Jack and Oscar are a whirlwind of intense emotions, attraction, and comfort. Their lives intertwine beautifully in the chaos that surrounds them. They are a wonderfully addition to the like us stories.
Oh and who knew the ballet could be so romantic…or the lobby at least. Stars in my eyes and love in my heart for these two!

Yay! I really liked this one. It was exactly what I needed in the LIke Us series. It isn’t as dramatic and soap operay as the other books which was a nice change of pace.
And, as predicted, I liked being outside of the famous families. Of course I love the famous ones, but I also like getting another perspective on the world.
I was worried this would be a gay-for-you story, but it wasn’t. Now, I could argue that it’s on a borderline, but I’ll lean toward it being fine. And Oscar didn’t push Jack which I’ve read in some books and really gets on my nerves. I did appreciate the commentary on sexuality and how not everyone has the same experience.
I did have an issue distinguishing between Oscar and Jack. I love both of them and they have great chemistry. But their voices weren’t distinct. I constantly forgot whose head it was in.
I see you Aerial Ethereal reference. Now, I’m just going to live in my delusional world where we’ll get another AE book. Especially if that character ends up with Charlie. Speaking of Charlie, I’m starting to like him.

Oscar!!! So happy we finally got his story. I loved Oscar so much. I have like him since the beginning, and his book just made me love him even more. I am more and more blown away by the amount of detail and the level of writing/imaginary we get from Becca & Krista! I am never disappointed when reading the stories they write. One thing I really wish we would have actually seen was Audrey’s reaction to the news of Oscar’s new boyfriend. Perhaps we will get this on their Patreon…*wink wink Anywho great read and love that the characters are so open and honest. It is quite refreshing. Plus we got to check in on some favorites, and finally get a better look at the elusive Charlie.

Wow, another 5 star read for the twins of romance. God, I loved this. It’s no Marrow but HIGHVEIRA are their own entity. Jack is superb and I already knew I’d like Oscar. I really need a Charlie story like NOW. So much happened in this book and I must say I did laugh out loud when the drunken incident happened. This book has its ups and downs but it was so enjoyable. I can’t wait to see what else the girls come up with. The drama, the angst, the family dynamics and so much more made this book incredible. I am so excited for Wild Like Us next month

THE MOTIVE DOESN’T MATTER AS LONG AS YOU GET THE DESIRED RESULTS
This book features Charlie Cobalt’s bodyguard, Oscar, and the We Are Calloway’s executive producer, Jack. Jack is finding his sexuality questioned when Oscar asks for a kiss. Oscar is bi-sexual and Jack is confused. Enter Charlie Cobalt who seems to know that Oscar and Jack are interested in each other. He sets up a production request to have his own show. Jack and Oscar and forced to be together while working with and for Charlie. Charlie has ulterior motives, known only to himself. He shows his father’s “I know everything” trait and melds the situations into a very enjoyable book. Kudos to the twins for such a well-written book.

If you ask me, this is the least engaging book in the Like Us series. It’s also the first that doesn’t actually feature a member of one of the famous families as an MC, meaning it does stand out that way. But since this is the seventh installment in the series – a series where the books aren’t meant to be read as stand-alones – it probably doesn’t matter. The readers of Charming Like Us are the hard-core fans that will stick with the series no matter what. Since that includes me as well, I’ll still read the next one when it’s released, despite my less than awestruck impression of this particular book.
Right so. First to the things I really liked. It’s a Ritchie-book after all and they’re awfully talented authors. Meaning Charming Like Us is very well-written. And, without a doubt, getting the continuation of the overall story pertaining to the Like Us families is the best. Then the couple, Oscar and Jack. They were super cute and I absolutely loved them together. Also, the Ritchie’s particular style of storytelling, with understating the antagonism and love-hate directed at the famous Ones, it’s simply brilliant. It sucks you in and engages like nothing else. However, it’s also frustrating as all get out. Since the hecklers and antagonists (almost) always gets away with their appalling behaviour, I’m left with an unsatisfied feeling.
So many things are left unresolved which is pretty unique in fiction. Because, in the Like Us series, what I consider to be loose ends in the story is actually just the backdrop to the overall portrayal of fame. And that’s apparently a pretty hard pill for me to swallow.
But, I’m sorry to say that there’s mainly two things that kept me from getting sucked into this read. First, I just didn’t find Oscar that interesting. I can’t explain it, it just is. And – naturally – that’s not the best premise for liking a story. Second, I felt that the story was too fragmented. This is the style the Ritchies have chosen for the entire series, but in Charming Like Us, it ruined the storyline. Too many events were skipped or glossed over, and later just mentioned in passing without any details.
Still. This is a good book even if it wasn’t my favourite. And I think most readers of the series will be quite happy with it. https://reflectionsofaswedishgirl.blog.se

I’m going to admit. When this book was first listed, I didn’t get the Oscar/Jack thing. I always thought it would be Jack/Akara/Sulli. So when they announced it would be Oscar/Jack and the next book Banks/Sulli/Akara I was confused. Like really confused and didn’t really like the idea.
So I did a re-listen to pick up on the Oscar/Jack connection. It took a bit but I SAW it and I will say after reading THEIR book. I LOVE IT!
I’ll also admit that after re-listening to the series, I had a hard time with ‘voices’ in my head. I wanted to use the narrator of Farrow’s voice for Oscar. The one he uses for all his other male character in books. But it didn’t fit. But my brain finally got on board with no real male voice.
Ok now the story. With them only having ONE book I was worried it would be a quick to-do. Boy am I happy I was wrong. Nothing changed in the writing style to make it seem like a quick book. You get all of the angst. All the other characters you love. The different POVs. New characters where you see a connection might be made.
You get LOVE and hot af sex. You get understanding. You get more into Charlie’s head, which let’s be honest, we’ve all WANTED to understand Charlie a bit more.
I cried. I laughed. I snorted. I can’t wait for the audio version to get better voices in my head and well I love a good male narrator reading mm books.

This series just keeps getting better and better! Oscar and Jack’s story was perfect for them. After reading Headstrong Like Us, I wondered how their story was going to happen. I curious to see what made Jack finally admit he feeling, but to my surprise it wasn’t really just one thing, but something that one thing had in common… Oscar.
I’ve always been curious about Oscar and his story. Curious if he’d ever get his happily ever after and he did. You see a side to Oscar on a deeper level than other books and learn more about his relationship with Charlie. I loved seeing this dynamic on so many levels. I can’t say I’ve been a huge Charlie fan… until now. Charming changed that for me. You see Charlie in a different light and you learn so much more about him.
You learn more about Donnelly and once again, your heart breaks for him. Knowing what he did for Farrow and Maximoff makes my heart happy for them, but it’s breaking for Donnelly. I know we’ll get his story with Luna, but until then my heart hurts for him. But, I also know the Yale Boys have each other’s backs. Seeing another point of view for the Yale Boys was amazing. You see the love they have for each other. The family bond they’ve created between the three of them.
You see Maximoff, Farrow and Ripley and you love them all over again. You see Jack bond with the Famous ones on a different level and it really makes your heart full.
I loved everything about Oscar and Jack’s story and I can’t wait for November. Until then, I’ll be over here starting my reread of the series.
