He’s a killer. She’s raising his son. He’s coming back for both of them.June’s used to living life in survival mode. With no family support or husband, it’s been up to her to raise her ten-year-old son on her own. It’s not easy, especially when she has a living reminder of the only man she ever loved. But that asshole walked out on her without warning, leaving her brokenhearted and pregnant. When … pregnant. When he reappears back into her life a decade later, she’s no longer a naive young girl, and not ready to throw herself into his arms—no matter how tempting that might be.
Killian’s biggest regret in life is falling in love on the job. It wasn’t supposed to happen, and the only honorable thing he could do was walk away. Everything he’d told June was a lie, and she deserved better than a hitman for hire. When they cross paths years later, he’s blindsided when he discovers he’s a father. It’s a challenge to earn June’s love and trust after the lies and disappearing act, but he’s not letting her go this time. He’ll prove to her in more ways than one that she’s his woman. When an unknown threat puts a hit out on Killian’s new family, the Irish assassin is ready to send them all to hell in the name of love.

Another great book by Sam Crescent
His mini me
The authors just continue to keep the momentum rolling with this series. I really enjoy the way they reveal a new background to each of the Hitmen with each new book. This particular story is full of the action and adventure we love and the alpha males we have come to expect from these two authors. I really enjoy the fact that Boss seems more and more human with each new book. I hope that they continue you with this series and keep bringing us these rough bad boys and the stories of the journey to their HEAs.
I love you!! I’m loving this series alot, i hope you continue it for a while. I notice some new names keep popping up, Shadow, Chains, even Manic? And Boss, now that man is driving me crazy! But I know you have a doozy for his book, please make him work for his love interest, keep it up, now I have to go finished reading Your Wolves Shifter, I’m on book 4
This was my first book by these authors and it sounded very promising and right up my alley. The beginning was kinda bumpy though and I wasn’t sure if this was because Charming Asshole was the third book in this series – albeit a standalone – or if it just really started off confusing.
Neither Killian nor June felt authentic and I had a major problem how after over 10 years everything happened so fast between them and their so-called feelings were stronger than ever. I didn’t understand how Killian could have loved her so much and lived so close but never went to see her.
The story was a constant back and forth and after all those years, June gave in too quickly and her poor living was over thanks to his fortune. I was no fan of her gullibility and the constant change of her attitude annoyed the hell out of me. She promised to stay by his side even though she just found out he’d lied to her all those years ago, never came for her in the past years and killed people for a living. Then she suddenly wasn’t ok with it and wanted him to stay with her and not do his job even though he wanted to save her. And later on she was unnecessarily reckless and went into the lion’s den.
I might have been ok with all of that when she’d been with him for a few years and they’d been older but I wouldn’t come running to my first crush from ten years ago, of whom I know nothing about.
The entire story was too fast paced and happened all in just a few days. It didn’t flow nicely as it felt more like jumping from one moment to the other and only longer scenes at one place/time were better written.
I know this was fiction and not everything’s realistic but I think there should be a certain realistic level held regardless of it. Especially since Killian felt more like a supernatural because he could kill an entire bar full of armed bikers without a scratch. And why would big bad bikers need help from anyone outside of their club? I thought they have their own rules and handle everything their way?!
I also didn’t like how they handled June’s son. He had to stay with strangers for days while she could have easily been with him. How could a mother raise her son alone for ten years and suddenly put him in hands of dangerous strangers who kill people and not be concerned?!
I was only skimming the sex scenes but not because they were bad, they just felt thrown into the story at random and I just didn’t feel it. There doesn’t always need to be sex involved and in this case, where the characters had so much do deal with and to sort out, it just felt off, also because I didn’t see any emotional connection between the characters.
Anyway, I didn’t want to rant about the bad stuff but just explain why I rated this book with two stars. So please bear in mind that this is just my personal opinion.
On a positive note, the authors accomplished to build up suspense which made it easier for me to finish the story. There was a lot of potential in this story which sadly wasn’t maxed out.
