The man could charm the panties off a nun…Nick Murphy. Hockey god. My best friend’s big brother. My friend-with-mindblowing-benefits. The best thing to happen to my nether regions since my subscription to the toy of the month club. The man I’ve been secretly in love with for years. And total ass.I am so done with him.Except there’s one small problem. Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is … problem.
Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is in the toilet. He’s convinced I’m his good luck charm, and he wants me back. But only for his game.
I’ll be strong. I will. I’ll resist.
Asses don’t change their stripes.
,br>Or do they?
This plan would be so easy if the man wasn’t Charming as Puck…
Charming as Puck is a romping fun romance between a hockey player and his sister’s best friend, complete with farm animals, epic birthday presents, and Berger Twin sightings. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a pucking awesome happily ever after.

Pippa Grant. Pippa freaking Grant, man! She knows how to make me laugh! I so love reading her outrageously ridiculous stories!
Kami Oakley has had a crush on the egomaniacal, goal-tending prankster for the Thrusters for as long as she can remember. Moving into friends-with-benefits status (under the radar from her friends) seemed like the next step in their relationship; the next step to getting Nick to be an active participant in their Christmas wedding. Ok, so the wedding is only in Kami’s fantasies, for now. But when the big puckhead not only calls her to re-home a cow, (yes you read that right!) but also forgets her birthday, Kami realizes she has to move on to someone who cares about more than hockey and himself. Our sweet Kami not only decides to cut him off but declares war on him in subtle ways…the laughing painting pointing at the bed. Lol
Nick Murphy only really cares about a few things; hockey, his sister and being the reigning master of the prank war going on with his teammates. Waking up with a cow in his bed makes him realize he’s losing on that last count. Calling Kami, his best friend (with benefits) and the local vet, is the only thing to do when you have a baby cow making eyes at you. But something went horribly wrong between that phone call and walking back into his apartment to the aforementioned cow shitting all over his Gammy’s rug. Now Kami’s not answering his calls and the hollowness in his chest feels strangely like he’s actually missing her more than you’d miss a FWB. Plus, his game has turned to complete…cow poop. Realizing Kami is his missing link is only half the battle, now he has to win her back and she’s not going to make it easy!
OMG, people! This hilarious, wildy inappropriate, laugh out loud at all the most inopportune moments book! Pippa Grant makes my sides hurt in Charming as Puck, complete with an adorable, show-stealing cow-dog named Sugarbear, dick glitter and a big dumb hockey player falling so hard we felt the thud in Texas. I adore Nick and Kami together! They are a perfect compliment to each other, sweet, sexy and utterly outrageous! Oh and their merry band of misfits are back too for more hilarious hijinks and pranks. All I can say is, give me more, give me more!

I LOVE NICK! I’ve been a serious fan of this author since her first book came out. And though the Berger twins are awesome I’ve always been a dedicated Chase fan. None of Pippa’s characters could top Chase and Ambrosia in my eyes. Until now. Chase has finally met his match in Nick! Though Nick acted like a complete a** at the beginning he figured out how to redeem himself ten fold. LOVE HIM!! Then there is Kami. What is NOT to love about her. She’s perfect, even though she doesn’t think she is, which is a great quality to have. These two made me laugh and cry happy tears all at the same time. This book may be hilarious but it is also full of swoon-worthy moments that you should not pass up. Go forth and read this book. You WILL NOT be disappointed. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Pippa Grant scores with CHARMING AS PUCK. Veterinarian Kami Oakley has a friend with benefits arrangement with her best friend’s older brother, hockey Goalie Nick Murphy. When he asks her to help clean up another of his teammate’s animal pranks, and he forgets her birthday, it’s the last straw and Kami calls it quits; however, Nick’s not ready to give her up.
I loved CHARMING AS PUCK. It had a little of everything: humor, drama, romance, animals, and hockey. The pranks between the Thrusters was entreating. It cracked me up how they always had to outdo each other.
The character development is exceptional. Kami is sweet and caring. Nick is protective, creative, and generous. Being an animal lover, I appreciate that they both love creatures. The characters grew. Their priorities changed. CHARMING AS PUCK was an amazing and entertaining story from the start through the finish. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Pippa Grant is quick becoming one of my favorite romantic comedy authors. The voice she writes in, her fast moving style and the amount of hilarity she injects into her plots and characters is just unmatched. I can’t help but fall quickly and deeply into her stories and laugh my way through them!
We get to see Kami and Nick figure things out in this book and it’s just ridiculously fun. He’s a no-commitment guy and she’s fine with that… until she’s not. Watching her resist his attempts to win her back and him figure out that he really is susceptible to the dreaded L word is fantastic. With this cast of characters around you can’t help but have a great time! The situations they find themselves in are just too much in all the best ways.
If you like your romance with a whole lot of laughs, best friend’s sibling and sports flavor then this is definitely one for you. I can’t recommend it highly enough if you need comedy with your romance!
I have come to love all things Pippa Grant since stumbling across her books in late 2018, though of course I love some of her books more than others. This one falls squarely in the “more” category. Nick is a charming man-child prankster with a good heart who needs a little nudge-nudge to move fully into responsible adulthood, and Kami is just the closet kick-ass gal to do it. Add in the Berger brothers, a ton of nut-job relatives, a cow-dog, plenty of smokin-hot chemistry, snorty-worthy banter, hilarious mishaps, and just a smidgen of angst, and poof: you have another hit in the growing list of wildly entertaining books by Ms. Grant. Seriously, it’s probably a good thing this author lives in another state and I’m super lazy; otherwise, I’d likely be stalking her to make her be my friend.
I am sincerely thankful to have received an ARC for review.
I am SO happy I found Pippa Grant’s books! Whether the hero is royalty, a CEO, a librarian, or in this case a hockey player, I know that I am going to get a hilarious, sexy story with a lot of heart.
Nick is Kami’s best friend’s brother. She has been crushing on him forever. When they finally hook up she accepts a friends with benefits situation….until she realizes she wants so much more. Nick is quite happy with his arrangement with Kami….until she dumps him. Suddenly he is lost and only Kami can bring his life and his game back to normal.
This books is hilarious! Cow shenanigans, crazy birthday presents, laugh out loud blind dates, Charming As Puck has it all! I will definitely be rereading!
The amazing Pippa does it again! This is the perfect combo of sweet hot love and laughter that have become a staple of this author’s books! SO MANY LAUGHS! I love people and characters who don’t take themselves too seriously, Kami and Nick are perfect for each other, theres a cow-dog involved, several times I caught myself sitting here smiling into an empty room, feeling the warm glow of an amazing love story. Its second chance meets friends to lovers plus sports romance in the best possible way and you will love every minute of it.
I honestly wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. Pippa’s books Get better and better and I need a bigger star scale for them. Nick and Kami’s story made me literally laugh out loud to the point of tears and snorting, swoon, and cry from all the feels. This is by far my favorite book of Pippa’s so far and I LOVE her ability to make animals secondary characters in her books.
This was a funny and smexy read.
Nick and Kami know each other long time because she is his sister’s best friend. Our hero is a self centered, famous hockey goalie, while our heroine is a sweet and kind vet who secretely fell for her BFF big brother. During last year they got closer and their friendship became a friends with benefits deal but when Nick makes a mistake forgetting an important thing for Kami, she decides to stay away from him for good.
I liked how this story unfolds, how Nick tries his best to reconnect with Kami, getting back in her good graces again.
This was the first book I’ve read written by this author and I think I’m gonna read more of the previous ones because I’m so curious to know more about the support characters I’ve seen in Charming As Puck.
Kami has been in love with Nick for a long time. Nick is oblivious to anything but himself and his career. Breaking up with him was the best thing Kami has ever done!
Kami was a sweet, thoughtful character who was always willing to clean up other people’s messes. She doesn’t realize she is a pushover, and when she does, she decides to take matters into her own hands.
Nick is self centered and aloof. It’s not that he doesn’t care,; it is just that he has never had to be responsible because everyone in his family treats his with kid gloves.
This romance was such a great story about earning love, and realizing that you deserve happiness.
It is also chock full of funny scenes that involve all the past characters and their epic pranks! You know it is every man for themself when the Berger twins are involved!
– An Arc was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.-
Charming as Puck, by Pippa Grant, is everything I hoped it would be. It has the expected Pippa crazy, zany, loveable characters. But there was something more about this book. I don’t even know if I can put my finger on what it was. Only that these two seemed more vulnerable to me, more real, and I couldn’t help but to love them so much more for it.
Kami Oakley has known Nick Murphy since they were kids. He is her best friend, Felicity’s big brother. Kami has been in love with Nick for just as long. Only Nick’s first and only love has always been hockey. Kami is a veterinarian and shares a practice with her mother. Her dad and brother and sister are all geniuses and she has always sort of felt like the plain one of the family. She has always felt like Nick was completely out of her league. But about eight months ago, a spontaneous night changed their relationship from just friends to friends with oh so enjoyable benefits. Neither of them are seeing anyone else but Nick sees their relationship as just that, friends with benefits. He has no idea how Kami feels about him.
Nick is the goalie for the pro hockey team, Copper Valley Thrusters. He grew up in Copper Valley and loves playing for his city’s team. His game has been on fire. Hockey is all he has ever wanted to do and he lives for the game. There has been some very competitive pranking going on amongst the players which always includes animals in some way. No animals are ever hurt but the teammates always know they can call on Kami to find them homes after their prank has been played. So Nick shouldn’t have been surprised when he woke up after a night of drinking to find a calf sleeping next to him. So of course, he calls Kami to come and take care of it for him and find a home for the cute baby. But what Nick didn’t remember was that it was Kami’s birthday.
Kami has had it. She’s sick and tired of being taken advantage of. She’s turning thirty years old and she’s been waiting for Nick to notice her as more than his friend for most of her life. Well, she’s done. She’ll rehome the calf and that’s it. It’s time to move on and accept that he will never see her as more.
Nick can’t believe Kami won’t take his calls. He misses her. And his game goes down the tubes. Is Kami his good luck charm? He decides to win her back, to make her accept his apology. But he’s not the relationship kind of guy. He just wants to play hockey.
“Kissing Kami is like having an ice cream sundae for dessert. Like watching the sun rise in paradise. Like holding the cup after winning the championship. Glory. Beauty. Perfection.”
No one has room for Sugarbear, which is what Kami names the calf. So she takes him home with her own three dogs. She tries to convince the neighbors that he is just one of her dogs. Nick also gets attached to him. It’s so adorable. The calf actually believes he’s a dog and he plays fetch. This cutie stole the show!
“Forget the roar of a crowd. This is what I’ve been chasing my whole life. Kami.”
Watching Nick really fall was such a beautiful thing. Kami really was through with him. Nick slowly begins to realize just what he lost, which makes him work all the harder to win her back. Everything Nick does is over the top. It’s just how he does things. Winning Kami back is no exception.
“This Nick truly is everything and more that I always hoped he could be.”
Nick and Kami are so adorable. Does Nick truly want her the way she wants him? Or does he think she’s just his good luck charm? Does she dare believe that he might love her? That he might someday want the same things that she does?
“I feel like I’ve finally found her. And now I’m going to do my best to keep her. No matter what it takes.”
This was so much fun. But it was also sweet and sexy and just made my heart oh so happy. I fell in love with Nick and Kami. If you like epilogues, there are exactly FOUR of them so you get plenty of glimpses into their future. I am such a huge fan of Pippa Grant’s books but this one just feels special to me. If you love rom-coms with characters that will steal your heart, this book is definitely for you!
Holy cow!
For a hot minute I thought Pippa Grant had crossed the line and gone too far. But as usual, I just needed to sit back and keep reading. It’s a wonderful world we live in when I can read about a hot hockey player and the veterinarian who loves him. Along with their cow, their dogs, a kitten, the Berger twins, glitter bombs, a pet monkey, and more hijinks that you can name. Ahh, but there’s also that sweet, romantic emotion and a HEA that is so swoon worthy you’ll end up in a puddle on the floor. Well done, Ms. Grant, well done.
Oh my god I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard while reading! I had tears running down my face from laughing more times than I could count all while falling absolutely in love with Nick and Kami. With nothing but feel good warmth on every page reading Charming as Puck made my whole day a thousand times better. There is just no way not to love a funny, sexy, sweetheart of a hockey player.
I’m not sure what I loved more how adorable Nick and Kami are or how hilarious they are. It’s a toss up on which made me smile bigger. Even before Nick opened his eyes to what a self absorbed jerk he had been he still managed to be completely endearing. Where Nick had been self absorbed Kami was sugary sweet. The hilarious antics and super sweetness don’t stop the heat that comes through with these two though. They’ll have you reaching for a tall cold drink, then promptly spitting it out in laughter.
Goal! Score! Nick and Kami got their story Finally and it is “moorvelous”. If you do not know who Nick Murphy is, well he is one of the hockey players mentioned many times in previous books…If you have read any of author Pippa Grant’s books. Ya Nick is Felicity Are’s wife’s big brother… does that right some bells? If you were around back during the dickcookie episode then you will remember that Nick loves to play practical jokes and even more so you do not mess with someone he loves, like his sister.
Then we have Kami Oakley, his friend with benefits and his sister’s best friend (yep they went there). Kami has had a crush on him since forever. Okay this is all nothing new if you have read past books and they were messing around in them. This book gets really good really fast. We get to meet a cow-dog thank you to the outrageous pranks!!! Oh my stars how in the world can one man be so clueless. I can truthfully say that the cow-dog has more sense and knows that Kami is thinking & feels than Nick. Men right?
But this book is not just about Nick and Kami oh nope we get all our favorite Copper Valley Thrusters…. I mean what would it be with our the twins and yes we need to hear from Joey and Felicity right?
This book had me laughing so hard I spilled my coffee all over my bed. Because yes I was up reading it the moment it hit my kindle. Not sure how our author is going to top this one. It is so much fun and yes we have romance to boot! I adore Charmed as Puck and I have read it twice now. And i am pretty sure i will read it a few more times before the year it out.

Nick and Kami may have started out unconventional but that doesn’t mean they aren’t meant to be together. Kami knows it, but Nick is still finding his way through life and I loved watching his character grow.
The intimacy (naked and clothed) both got me. I absolutely loved every moment. The emotions ran high for me throughout the book and the roller coaster was a thrill to ride.
This romance was a little different than the rest in the series, though they’re all stand-alone I highly recommend reading all of them, including this one.
Irresistible humor from the first lines
Always a fabulous author who made me burst out laughing or moved me all along, as the imagination of the hero is vast for jokes or gifts.
This episode is the story of Kami and Nick Felicity’s brother (of “Beauty and the Beef”) who plays on a hockey team.
He thought he had a “sexfriends” relationship with Kami who is a veterinarian, but he falls down when she breaks up with him, leaving him alone, facing a calf, left there for a joke by one of his hockey partners.
Nick can not play anymore, and he does not understand why his only thought is Kami: if he does not reconquer her, he doesn’t know what he will become.
The story of Nick is punctuated with gifts to be forgiven by Kami, and pranks against his partners.
I was also pleased to find all the crazy characters of the previous books (even if it can be read alone without any problem to understand everything)
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I really hope you remember to empty your bladder before you start reading Charming as Puck. No, seriously. You need to because from the very first words through the end, you’re going to find yourself laughing uncontrollably and praying to the Kegel gods that you don’t have a problem. Lord help you if you happen to sneeze while you’re laughing because you’re just screwed. Totally screwed.
Who wouldn’t laugh over the crazy antics of a bunch of over grown man-children with too much money and too much time to play pranks. Enter one cow-dog aka Sugarbear. Add in an overly involved aunt and cousin whose business is matchmaking—Muffy’s Muff Matchers to be exact. Let’s not forget the Berger twins and the rest of the hockey team who just can’t resist sticking their noses in where they’re probably not wanted, not that that stops them.
And on top of all this craziness is Nick and Kami. Our couple who aren’t dating, nope they’re in it just for the sex. Mm hmm… until feelings get involved. And those feelings may just be felt by Nick after he finally realizes Kami is really the woman for him—she’s his forever. And she won’t talk to him and she definitely won’t sleep with him. And he’s miserable both off and on the ice.
But our man isn’t taking no for an answer—don’t worry, he’s not a total jerk, he knows no means no, but he’s not giving up on getting Kami back. And she doesn’t make it easy. And I absolutely loved every minute spent watching Nick finally come to his senses. Watching Kami realize she deserves more than what Nick was originally offering. Watching them figure it out together—even through some err, compromising situations.
I couldn’t put Charming as Puck down until I read the very last word. I loved seeing the romance between Kami and Nick grow into something so much more. And I loved how their friends really helped them find their way back to each other. It was fun, smart, sexy, hilarious and extremely heart felt, and I couldn’t recommend reading it more! ~ 5 “dick glitter bomb” stars
I’ve read all the books in this series and with each one I says to myself she (Pippa Grant) can’t possibly write something more over the top and funny at the same time and once again I’m proven wrong.
This book put the cheesiest smile on my face and I couldn’t get rid off it even after I finished it. Nick and Kami were fun couple to get to know. I loved that the whole drama aspect to the story happened at the beginning and we get to see how much she means to him without additional problems added to the mix. The banter between the MC’s and the side characters was hilarious. I loved that we got to see the “old” couples still going strong.
As said I’ve been a fan of this series since the very first book and I’m still a fan now. Looking forward to see what or better yet who happens next.

Kami is a veterinarian who has loved Nick her best friends’ brother for years. The only trouble is Nick has only one love and that is hockey. When one night their relationship changes from friends to friends with benefits’, Kami hopes that this will be the turning point, and when it is not she has had enough and decides to move on. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written flawless story, which is hilarious from the very beginning. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all readers.
Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant is a sweet, hilarious, friends to lovers, romantic comedy told in dual POV. Although characters from previous books appear in the story, this book is a standalone and can be enjoyed without reading the others.
Hockey player, Nick Murphy, has been having a secret friends-with-benefits relationship with veterinarian, Kami Oakley, his younger sister’s best friend. When Nick forgets her 30th birthday and instead calls her up asking for a huge favor, Kami has had enough of being an afterthought and she breaks up with him. Kami’s been in love with Nick for years but doesn’t think he’ll ever want to be more than friends-with-benefits, and she’s determined not to wait around for him anymore. It’s time to move on.
When Nick realizes that he’s screwed up and really lost Kami, he pulls out all the stops to earn her forgiveness and win his best friend back. In the process, he discovers the feelings that he’s had for Kami all along. Can Nick win Kami back? or Will it be too little too late?
I loved Kami and Nick’s story! With live animal pranks, Sugarbear the cow-dog, dick-glitter bombs, Muffy’s Muff Matchers, spider phobias, clown phobias, Wankers and Johnson-Wankers, hot chickens and more – this book is filled with wild, laugh-out-loud moments. Funny, romantic, heart-warming, endearing, sweet and sexy – I highly recommend it!
