The man could charm the panties off a nun…Nick Murphy. Hockey god. My best friend’s big brother. My friend-with-mindblowing-benefits. The best thing to happen to my nether regions since my subscription to the toy of the month club. The man I’ve been secretly in love with for years. And total ass.I am so done with him.Except there’s one small problem. Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is … problem.
Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is in the toilet. He’s convinced I’m his good luck charm, and he wants me back. But only for his game.
I’ll be strong. I will. I’ll resist.
Asses don’t change their stripes.
,br>Or do they?
This plan would be so easy if the man wasn’t Charming as Puck…
Charming as Puck is a romping fun romance between a hockey player and his sister’s best friend, complete with farm animals, epic birthday presents, and Berger Twin sightings. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a pucking awesome happily ever after.

This story was so cute and funny. Easy, laugh out loud read. Loved everything from the cow…I mean dog, Muffy’s match making and the dynamics between Nick and Kami. It kept a smile on my face from beginning to end!
Super hilarious, as always with Pippa Grant! I just love how funny her books are – they always have a lot of heart, good people, misguided people that find their way after a few hard knocks. And who else would think of having a cow treated like a dog and taking it for walks and playing fetch and just telling her neighfbors it’s a dog?? Then there’s Nick who’s trying so hard not to fall In love until he finds and loses is forever girl. Then he shapes up quick and of course goes over the top to win her back (which has a lot of laughs in itself)
Great book and I recommend it for anyone who likes hilarious antics, great characters & more than a few pranks
I LOVED this book so hard! If you’re in a bad mood or life is just sucking pick up a Pippa Grant book. Trust me you will be laughing from beginning to end putting you in a good mood. This book is no exception. It’s packed with the humor I come to expect and the feels that just put it over the top. Plus my book boyfriend Ares pops in a lot being Nick teammate and all. I don’t know where Pippa gets the ideas she does, but it makes for some hilarious reading. Once again she has sucked me right and not letting up for air until I’m done. I just loved Nick and Kami. She brings out another side of Nick not many see not even himself. I highly recommend reading this one or any by Pippa you will not be disappointed!
Pippa has done it again! I was lucky enough to receive an arc of this book and Nick and Kami’ s story is every bit as crazy, funny, sweet and sexy as all the rest of her books. From wonderful, unique characters to all sorts of equally unique animals, the fun never stops. Not to say there isn’t a sobering or even sad moment here and there, but blink and they’re gone. After all, cow-dogs (what?), penguins running amuck, Johnson-Wankers, and all manners of crazy won’t let you be serious for long!
5 Cranky Stars
Hockey players, dogs, kittens and a cow….
Oh My!
Kami never get mad and is always the optimist. She can be found singing a certain hockey gods praises until he took it too far. Now it’s time for Kami to take control of her life and move on from Nick. Only problem is that he has that adorable smirk and can melt her nether region with his eyes.
Nick is clueless to everything and everyone except hockey and playing pranks on his teammates. He has a friends with benefits deal with the super sexy Kami and he wouldn’t change a thing. Only now Kami has changed her mind. Kami is mad at him and she never gets mad. She won’t talk to him at all. Now his world is turning upside down and he doesn’t know what to do. Oh and there’s the cow that acts like a dog.
I absolutely adored this book. I laughed so hard I actually spit coffee out of my nose. Pippa Grant is a new author to me and I look forward to reading more.
Pippa Grant’s writing gets better with every book she releases.
This book was full of the humor, snark, and heat that we have all come to know and love in Pippa’s books, but it was also heartwarming, hopeful, and realistic. Yes, realistic. (If you have never pranked someone with a well placed animal, you clearly aren’t from my neck of the woods.)
We see amazing character development and world building as Pippa continues to expand her universe of characters. She has created a hero that is relatable (Don’t lie. Your significant other has forgotten important dates and info just like mine has.) and a heroine that just won’t quite. Together, they make a thunderstorm of heat and conflicting personalities that collide in just the best way, making for one hell of a HEA.
Yet again, I highly recommend this read from Pippa Grant.
True to my word, after I read the collaboration between Pippa Grant and Lili Valente, I grabbed the first book I could get that was written by Pippa Grant. Little did I know it was going to open up a whole new world to me that I can’t wait to go back and read.
Nick is…a mess. But I don’t mean that in a bad way. He’s all over the place, but the one thing he never struggles with is hockey, and even that’s not safe from his spiral right now. He’s fun and never takes anything seriously, which often leads to acting without thinking first. And that usually lands him in a heap of trouble with a variety of people. He’s also sweet, kind, loyal, protective, charming (hence the title), and completely irresistible. Oh, and sexy – A SEXY HOCKEY PLAYER!
Kami is so real and I think that makes her a relatable character. She struggles between what her mind says is right and what her heart says she wants. She’s caring and compassionate, almost to a fault, and it was good to see her finally put herself first for a change. She’s quirky and funny, and her brand of crazy is a perfect match to Nick’s.
I don’t think I’ve laughed out loud so much during a book before. There are so many shenanigans in this story, it’ll leave your head spinning. Unbeknownst to me, I came into this book and there are three other books ahead of it. Though they all can be read as standalones, this one definitely made me want to go back and endure more insanity.
Loved it!
Nick & Cami’s story has everything you could possibly every want in a rom-com & then some. Pippa Grant has a way of weaving absolutely off the wall crazy tales into the best books!
I feel like I’ve reached the point where I can’t claim to avoid over the top romantic comedies at all cost when I just keep coming back for more from Pippa Grant. To be fair though, she’s one of the only authors I trust to be able to combine that OTT humor with a really sweet story that’s full of heart and substance and THAT is why I keep coming back.
This is Nick and Kami’s story. We met them both briefly in Beauty and the Beefcake, which seems fitting because these are my two favorite books from Pippa.
Nick is a prankster and a player who doesn’t really do relationships and doesn’t really pay much attention to anything or anyone outside of hockey. That is until his lack of attention to details ends his friends with benefits relationship with his younger sister’s best friend, Kami.
Kami has been half in love with Nick for years and getting to sleep with him is like a dream come true, until she finally has to face the fact that he doesn’t really see her and will probably never want more than a FWB relationship with him.
What ensues is a hilarious journey of begging for forgiveness, getting revenge, falling love and a whole bunch of cow-related fun.
I loved that in between all of the pranks, the hilarious birthday gifts, and the ridiculousness of having a pet cow-dog, there was a real and honest love story. We see the broken and scared side of Nick and the strong yet vulnerable side of Kami and just how perfect they are together.
There’s also the fact that we get a lot of Ares in this book and that I loved Nick so hard that he gave Ares some competition as my favorite hero in this crowd of misfits. Two amazing book boyfriends is always better than one, right?
Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant was such a fun, light, laugh-out-loud and enjoyable read. It was a bit over-the-top at times, but sometimes you just need a book like that. I literally could not stop laughing. Wherever I was reading this book, I kept getting side glances/glares from those around me and I had zero regrets!
I loved this best friend’s older brother romance. Kami loves Nick Murphy. Loves what he makes her feel, how he plays her body, but not how he leaves her heart wanting. She decides she is done with their amazing friends with benefits arrangement. She needs, no deserves more. But when Nick’s game starts to suffer, will he realize what Kami has truly meant to him all along?
Seriously, Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant was so much fun to read. I loved both Kami and Nick so much and loved watching them work through their issues. I was left with a big smile when I finished this book.
4.5-stars. Read and reviewed for Reviews From The Heart.
Happy reading.
Nick loves hockey above all else. Kami loves Nick above all else. But, the occasion of her thirtieth birthday compels Kami to see that she will never be No. 1 to Nick and she deserves better, so she cuts off their friends-with-benefits arrangement.
Once again, Grant balances a lot of humor — from the subtle turn of a phrase, to the most ridiculous situations — with believable emotional arcs for the main characters. Seeing Kami find her inner strength and recognizing her value was inspiring. Watching Nick examine his feelings and become more than a single-minded puckhead made me fall in love with love all over again. Best of all, these characters found their growth without losing what makes them such fantastic characters to begin with. Nick didn’t become soft and sensitive. He just sorted his priorities differently and applied his focus and passion to more than just hockey, which made the change feel so natural.
Also included: one adorable cow-dog, potentially anatomically correct action figures, a very chatty catty, and a clan of rooster boosters.
Reasons to Read this Book:
1) Cow-Dog named Sugarbear
2)A cousin named Muffy, who has a dating service named Muff Matchers
3)Gardening Shed Mishaps
For these top 3 reasons and the fact that this book is the most hilarious best friend’s sibling RomCom. I love how Pippa Grant is able to continue a series that isn’t a series because it could be read on it’s own that each have their own trope but are still awesomely hilarious. If you are looking for a sweet, riotous story you NEED to read this book.
From start to finish, I fell in love with this couple. After a rocky start to their relationship, Nick fights to win Kami and does not leave the reader disappointed. I just swoon over all the things he does to show her how much he loves her. Plus there is a cow that plays fetch. And an escape room full of Wanker-Johnsons. AND a sneak attacking mom with a Super-Soaker! Hands down, one of the best books from Pippa Grant!
I Loved this Book! the title says it all, not only is the hero that Charming, the entire book is! This book has the hero groveling for good reason… and it’s good and hot grovel! This is a wonderfully delightful and delicious story about a hot hockey player and his veterinarian heroine. There is plenty of sexiness, laced with tons of shenanigans and lots of laugh out loud funny moments. There is a pet cow, dogs, a kitten, and penguins. They only thing more you could ask for is some free time to relax and read this book! ( I do not recommend reading this while drinking anything hot) the laugh out loud parts are dangerous! I can’t wait for her next book!
Each Pippa Grant book is better than the last one. Kami and Nick are a perfect match even though the book starts with Nick forgetting Kami’s birthday and dumping his baby calf in his condo off on Kami, his FWB partner for the last 8 months. This is the last straw for Kami, who has secretly not so secretly loved Nick for years.
Nick realizes he screwed up and makes a tremendous effort at trying to apologize to Kami enough to get her back into his life … he realizes he misses her.
Kami has a backbone and a devious streak, she makes Nick work hard at earning time with her. Kami decides to seek a boyfriend using her cousin Muffy’s matchmaking service whic doesn’t go so smoothly.
The book has appearances by Ares and Zeus Berger, Manning, Felicity and many more characters from previous Pippa books.
This book is hilarious, and full throttle fun! I received an ARC for an honest review. I would have read the book and left a review anyway, because Pippa is one of my absolute favorite authors. I think this is y favorite Pippa book, which seems impossible since. I’ve love all of her previous works. Can’t wait for whatever Pippa releases next!
Who doesn’t love a best friends’s little sister story!?! Pippa Grant completely rocked this genre with Charming as Puck! I really loved that the breakup happened at the beginning of this story; it was different and intriguing! Not a whole lot of angst, this story is heartwarming with a lot of heat! Five Charming Stars!!
We finally have Nick and Kami! Felicity’s brother and her BFF!! This book is fun, goofy and hilarious all rolled into one Pippa Grant Romantic Comedy. I loved it so, so much!
The animals, the Berger twins, the pranking fun, this book is filled with so much fun and so much heart. I love when two people go on a journey that leads them to where they originally started, but in their own naive world they never saw themselves good enough or perhaps they actually weren’t. However, during their journey together they help each other blossom into a better version of their former self because that is how the other person always saw them, the transformation is beautiful, especially when intermixed with farm animals and pranks.
“There’s a note of self-deprecation in her voice that makes me want to hit something. Probably myself, because see again, I don’t deserve her.”
To begin, Nick and Kami have been friends for a long time, they actually went to high school together, although that is not when the friendship began. Nick didn’t know Kami existed back in school, his single-minded focus on hockey has been something that has served him well in the rink, but not quite so well in the girlfriend department. Hence, his current situation where he finds himself with a cow in his apartment, (thanks to one Zeus Berger) and when he calls Kami, his friend with benefits, who also happens to be a veterinarian to help him out of his predicament, but forgets to add in one teeny-tiny detail before he ends his call…his single-minded life gets turned upside down.
“He called me first thing in the morning…to cuss about a cow and completely ignore my hints about what today is. I can’t deny it any longer. He’s a self-centered ass. He’s always been an ass, and he’ll always be an ass.”
Kami is known as sweet, nice, loving and always willing to help out in a pinch when someone needs help, especially concerning an animal in need. It is how she has become the vet on call when the Thruster team uses a helpless animal in one of their pranks. When Nick calls her in a panic when another animal finds its way into the mix, Kami waits to see if Nick remembers to mention anything else while he’s calling. Anything at all. Anything important. They have been seeing each other, soft of, for eight months and she knows they aren’t exactly an item, per sae, but could he really have forgotten?
“The one person who’s clearly missing is Nick. He wasn’t playing dumb because he was coming to a surprise party…He forgot.”
When Kami puts her foot down and decides she’s more important than being forgotten, Nick finally wakes up and realizes he might lose the one person who actually understands him. The one person who knows him better than anyone and now he needs to turn that single-minded focus that has worked for hockey and pranks onto the girl who deserves it before he loses her forever.
This book is fantastic fun and I know you will enjoy it so make sure you add it to your list today!
Holy cow!! This book was amazing and I seriously couldn’t put it down!! Loved Nick and Kami’s story so much and there’s so much realism to this love story! This is another one of Pippa’s must reads. Sugarbear is also one of my new favorites as far as pets go for this series (don’t tell Loki).
Leave it to Pippa Grant to have me crying tears of laughter, like all her previous books, Charming As Puck, was. Sweet, cute, annoying at times, hot and sexy at others and just so much fun to read. I always have a great time reading Pippa’s stories. They are just simply fodder for my heart and soul. I loved Nick Murphy, the Thrusters’ hot and sexy goalie, and Kami Oakley, veterinarian extraordinaire.
This woman has been called upon to save more than one animal used in pranks by the guy’s on the Thrusters team, but when the latest prank falls foul, Kami has had enough.
With Nick and his attitude.
But, just as she’s finally made her decision, Nick comes to one of his own.
Will they be ships that sailed, or will they find that special place?
This story has some many laughs, from humans and animals alike. I freaking loved it to bits and as always, I am desperate for more.
Yet another hilarious book from the warped mind of Pippa Grant. Kami has had a crush on Nick Murphy since High School. She is now a successful Veterinarian, and Nick’s best friend with benefits. Nick is a goalie for the Thrusters, a pro hockey team. Nick is so focused on Hockey, he is thoughtless in his personal life. When Nick not only forgets Kami’s birthday, but expects her to bail him out of a stupid prank, she has had enough and ends their relationship. Their path to a happily ever after is littered with Johnson-Wankers (don’t ask), a cow-dog, and scary spiders. Love this book and cannot wait to see what the author comes up with next. I was given an ARC of this book by the author for my honest review.
