The man could charm the panties off a nun…Nick Murphy. Hockey god. My best friend’s big brother. My friend-with-mindblowing-benefits. The best thing to happen to my nether regions since my subscription to the toy of the month club. The man I’ve been secretly in love with for years. And total ass.I am so done with him.Except there’s one small problem. Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is … problem.
Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is in the toilet. He’s convinced I’m his good luck charm, and he wants me back. But only for his game.
I’ll be strong. I will. I’ll resist.
Asses don’t change their stripes.
,br>Or do they?
This plan would be so easy if the man wasn’t Charming as Puck…
Charming as Puck is a romping fun romance between a hockey player and his sister’s best friend, complete with farm animals, epic birthday presents, and Berger Twin sightings. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a pucking awesome happily ever after.

This book has a little bit of everything (including a pet cow-dog), but mostly it has a love story that I think everyone can relate to. Nick is an ass but you have to love how hard he tries. Kami is sweet and loving but she has an evil side. The road to them being together is filled with tissues needed moments, awwww moments, giggle moments as well as laugh out loud spray soda all over your kindle moments! Warning- there are spiders and clowns…
Nick and Kami are amazing and everything. Nick is the proverbial playboy who doesn’t realize what a great thing he has until he doesn’t have it. Kami sees the real Nick and loves him despite his playboy ways. Will he be able to win her back? Will Nick get the girl and the cow-dog? This was an aamzing story and I loved getting glimpses into the lives of the other characters!
Highly recommended
Things are never good when you fall in love with your best friends brother. That’s what happened to Kami who fell head over heels for Nick. As goalie on the Thrusters he has a good life but doesn’t take relationships seriously. When Kami ends their friends with benefits arrangement things go down hill for Nick. Can he win her back? Beware this is a laugh out load funny with an awesome cast of characters and some animal friends too.
I was so excited for Nick’s story. I love that he really grows up over the course of this book, yet he never loses his prankster ways or his goofy sense of humor. I love that Kami completely understands him and helps to moderate him to some degree without stifling his personality. I love his apology gifts… so creative.
There are so many funny scenes! When I started the book I told my husband how much I was looking forward to reading it, as Pippa writes such funny moments in her book. Within five minutes, I was laughing out loud and my hubby was amazed. He goes, “Seriously? You just started reading.” (I haven’t convinced him to read her books yet but I think I am close.)
As always, I love the little looks we get into the lives of characters from past books. It is always good to see them and be reminded of how awesome they are. There are new characters added in this story with potential for future stories and more of the hockey player characters are developed in the same way.
Pippa writes characters that have a sense of humor and big hearts. I really loved this story and cannot wait for whatever next book comes out of her incredible brain.
I enjoyed Nick and Kami’s story so much! Kami is sweet and used to cleaning up other people’s messes. Nick’s a hockey player so a touch (or a ton) self centered. This is a fun romp with the cast of characters we’ve come to expect from a Pippa Grant book. There are epic pranks, but with the Berger twins, I wouldn’t expect anything less.
So glad to be allowed back into Pippa Grant’s mind and “Pucked” world. Nick and Kami’s story has all the wonderful characteristics of her other books “Pucked” books. Of course I love reading more about the Berger twins. This a a romantic comedy about the Copper Valley Thrusters, (what a team name).Nick is a prankster; as is a lot of the team of hockey players are. Kami is a sweet veterinarian and the story stars with her in a friends with benefits relationship with Nick. Until he forget her 30th birthday and Nick asks her to deal with the baby cow in his condo. Then the magic really starts. We get everything from horrible dates with a criminal elder man, a cow-puppy, sweet, funny romantic, happy ever after. Please keep writing Ms. Grant!
To say that Nick Murphy surprised me would be an understatement. We knew him as the prankster, a volatile, over-protective brother that sent dick cookies to his sister’s ex. But all of that was hiding a secret romantic that was so secret, HE didn’t even realize he was a romantic. And good for Kami that she made him step up his game before she embarked on a real relationship with him.
Pippa really upped the ante on romance and feelings in this book. Nick is one of her most emotionally engaged heroes, and his willingness to express his emotion makes this a great read.
Catching up with the extended Berger family is always an add3d bonus. Add a cow-dog, some chickens, errant penguins and epic one-up-manship, and this is a classic Pippa rollicking good time.
The BEST Pippa’s book EVER!!!
I’ve read everything Pippa Grant has written and it’s not secret I’m addicted to her work. But Nick and Kami’s story… It really got under my skin. I could totally relate to Nick and Kami’s relationship on many levels. It’s become my favorite of all her stories.
As always with Pippa’s books, there are hilarious moments and yet this story is so much more. It’s a roller-coaster of emotions, that run deep, gripping you from start to finish. Love, revenge, forgiveness, emotionally scarred heros, as well as pranks at their best, create the unique and crazy world of the Pippaverse. I cried, I fell in love, I laughed my heart out with this one, and I literally devoured it cover to cover.
Warning: Find a comfy spot, refrain from eating or drinking (or not at your own risk) and have a pack of tissues nearby. Either from laughing at Nick and Kami’s antiques, or falling into their angsty love story, tears are certain to surface.
My obsession with Pippa started with Chase. He was my very favorite. For a long time… then she wrote Manning. He tied for the top spot… then came Dax. Oh Dax… he took over top spot. But my NEW number ONE is Nick. Oh my sweet misunderstood and dumb Nick. He is a typical man. Oblivious to the world around him – unless it comes to protecting his sister. Then Kami came in to his life and walked back out when he didn’t SEE her. Who she truly was. Not just down for a good time Kami. Only then did Nick understand that she was his life. This book has all the Pippa funny that you’ve come to expect. But it also has all the feels…. all the feels you could ever want or need. I’m not sure how she does it but Pippa blows me away. EVERY. SINGLE. BOOK. Definitely read this book. You WILL NOT be disappointed.
Charming as Puck was a fun and enthralling story about a man child and the woman who loves him. I really enjoyed Kami and I love that she realized right from the start that she needed to start putting herself first when it came to the love of her life, Nick. But mostly, I loved watching Nick grow up and fall in love. The rest of the amazing Grant cast of characters had important parts in Nick and Kami’s story, which is love. Overall, solid read full of swoony hockey players!
I loved everything about Nick and Cami’s story! From her love of animals and her resourcefulness to his determination to gain forgiveness. And the pranks kept me rolling. Pippa is a genius with dialogue and creating a world I never want to leave.
Pippa Grant has another authentic hilarious book that also has heart felt goodness. Nick and Kami story, while being OMG LOL funny, is also a story of unrequited love that causes heartbreak before giving you an outstanding HEA.
Nick is a hot, but his skills as a goalie have taken a dive since Kami walked out on him. Is she his good luck charm? Once, he realizes what he’s lost, his crusade to win back Kami is full on.
Kami is so sweet, everyone loves her. But Nick has pushed her to the point that she feels that she has to let him go to get what she wants in life.
Their story, full of cows, dogs, kittens and over the top pranks is as heartwarming as it is hilarious. Nick’s evolution is wonderful and his actions to win Kami back gratifying. Kami’s love for Nick is absolute and as Nick wins his way back into her life, she comes to appreciate him even more.
I loved that Pippa not only gives us a marvelous story but brings in characters from all her other books to join in the fun.
Spiders……clowns……cows……Nick and Kimi……you laugh and you cry and you cheer for standing up for yourself! Then you fall in love and enjoy every minute of the ride!
I am a loyal Pippa Grant fan, and I did not think she could top the longing and complicated web of feelings she created between Chase and Ambrosia in Mister McHottie, but I was ever so wrong. Nick and Kami eclipse them. The surprising thing is that these two books are similar tropes in the same fictional world, yet Nick and Kami’s story manages to avoid turning into a stale retelling of the same old story.
The pacing of Charming as Puck was perfect. The secondary characters were witty and endearing. The old characters from previous novels were just as lovable in their reappearances here.
I think I’ve said this before, but Pippa is a master at creating a fictional world and using all the characters within it to help her weave the story. Charming as Puck is no exception.
Charming as Puck is the greatest sister’s best friend/high school crush book of all time. This is next book from Pippa Grant and they just keep getting funnier, crazier, sweeter and sexier.
Nick has got it all, hockey fame, fortune, women and a perfect no-commitment, friends with benefits arrangement with Kami. Life is perfect… until its not. Kami’s been in love with Nick forever. She is fed up with Nick’s selfishness and immaturity. Kami has had enough of cleaning up after Nick’s pranks. When Nick loses his girl, his luck goes along with it. Going to great, ridiculous lengths to get them back may just result in getting more than he bargained for.
You must jump on this crazy train. The hilarious pranks, the sweet fur babies, and an appearance by each of the characters in all of the other Pippa Grant books makes this one a winner winner hot chicken dinner! And I mean hot! Lots of laughter, and sexy times will cure even the most severe case of the winter blahs. Run and buy this book!
This is my first Pippa Grant book, now I CANNOT wait to read the others!!!!
This book had me cracking up from the very beginning. The pranks that these guys pull on each other are HYSTERICAL! I loved how that was a big part of this book, because it really helped the story have a lighter air to it. That being said there was so much going on between Kami and Nick, so many different layers to their relationship. Kami giving up on Nick was probably the best thing that ever happened to them!
Now before I talk more about Kami and Nick I gotta talk about everyone else. Supporting characters are my fav!!! The best friends and the hockey players took this book to another level. Between Muffy and her mother without their filters, the craziness of Felicity and her ventriloquist voices and the Berger twins I was dying!!! And of course we can’t forget Sugarbear! She ended up being the star of the show and was just another one of those layers that made this book amazing!!!
Now back to Nick and Kami. If it weren’t for all of those people above, especially Sugarbear, their relationship might not have ever happened! Kami and those awful dates and Nick not being able to save a goal to save his life really helped kick them into shape. They were just so meant for each other. I loved everything about these two, especially how they were different around ea
Warning! Don’t read this book if only like to read reality!
This book is sweet and over the top crazy. There are cow-dogs, glitter bombs, best friends, hockey players and pranks. Be prepared to laugh so hard through this second chance at love romance.
Absolutely loved Nick and Kami’s story!! A prankster hockey hero and the nicest sweetest heroine definitely fit the opposites attract. Clearly Charm School did not help the biggest goof on the Thursters hockey team goaltender Nick Murphy. When he goes a step too far in taking Kami’s kindness for granted.
Kami the vet has been crushing on her best friend’s brother for years. Secretly hooking up is like a dream for Kami until she realizes Nick is still the big oblivious jock he’s always been when he forgot her birthday and simultaneously needs her to rescue a prank gone wrong in his condo. As luck would have it his game is now tanking as he realizes he needs to get his best friend back and sets about it the only way he knows how. Big and Crazy acts of caring for her 30th birthday, 30 days of hijacks to show he cares, it’s gotta work..
And throw in a baby calf named Sugarbear who might be a cow-dog according to some, Pippa has totally nailed it with Charming as Puck. Loved mad Kami and how she wears her emotions on her sleeve for all to see. As Nick slowly comes around that maybe Kami is sometime more than a friend with benefits.
I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.
Funny, steamy, lots of great characters! Good writing from Pippa as always.
Charming as Puck continues the Pippa Grant tradition of slightly weird, yet loveable characters with odd quirks, and the occasional odd pet (who can forget Hosed’s, George Cooney).
Kami is one of Felicity’s besties from Beauty and the Beefcake, and Nick is Felicity’s older brother. So it’s definitely a best friends brother book, but without the angry sibling cause God that’s annoying.
Beauty and the Beefcake established Kami’s long-standing crush on Nick. She just can’t move on from him. So when they start a barely friends-with-benefits arrangement, she’s stoked. Because she’s finally got the guy she likes in some way.
But Charming as Puck starts with a new prank from Zeus (The Pilot & the Puck Up) on Nick, in the form of a calf in his house.
‘…A fucking baby cow in my fucking bed.’
So when Nick calls Kami, a vet, to get rid of the calf, because funnily enough, you can’t really have a calf in an apartment, shit hits the fan.
Why?
Well turns out Kami had a life plan, and Nick reminded her of how that’s gone to absolute crap. By forgetting her birthday. The big three-zero and all he’s thinking about is how he’s gonna get Zeus back.
This is where our story starts because Kami realises she’s better than that. She deserves a guy who will remember her birthday. And that she doesn’t like mushrooms on her pizza (who does?).
“Nick, you owe me nothing. In fact, you can consider this a goodbye present. Because this little arrangement we have? It’s over. I’m done.”
I don’t know what just happened, but I have a feeling it’s worse than waking up with a baby cow.
Nick, who is generally oblivious to what’s going on around him, is quick to see that actually, life with Kami was pretty great, and not just because he’s a better hockey player when she’s around. And so thirty days of thirty presents begins. Nick, not known for small gestures starts his apology with thirty bouquets of roses. And each day he gives her another thirty of something.
What follows in absolute hilarity as these characters work their way back to each other, while also growing as people. Kami realising her own self worth is so empowering, and it’s important not to settle just because you’re getting a tiny bit of something you want.
However, this is a Pippa Grant book. So it’s not all nice messages and crap. It’s nuts. Penguins, dogs, cats, and cow-dogs are only the tip of the iceberg that is the craziness of Kami and Nick’s story.
There is Berger madness, a shed incident, ‘the talk’ for an adult, a seriously damaged phone, an insane family, actually multiple crazy families, someone getting middle named, and pumpkin pie.
“I’m really your pumpkin pie?”
“With cinnamon ice cream and whipped cream and sprinkles and a cherry.”
Her laugh sounds watery and weak. “I’m honoured to be your pumpkin pie.”
Charming as Puck is nothing short of brilliant and one of Pippa’s most amazing books to date.
And don’t forget to check out the bonus epilogue where even more crazy stuff happens.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
