The man could charm the panties off a nun…Nick Murphy. Hockey god. My best friend’s big brother. My friend-with-mindblowing-benefits. The best thing to happen to my nether regions since my subscription to the toy of the month club. The man I’ve been secretly in love with for years. And total ass.I am so done with him.Except there’s one small problem. Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is … problem.
Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is in the toilet. He’s convinced I’m his good luck charm, and he wants me back. But only for his game.
I’ll be strong. I will. I’ll resist.
Asses don’t change their stripes.
,br>Or do they?
This plan would be so easy if the man wasn’t Charming as Puck…
Charming as Puck is a romping fun romance between a hockey player and his sister’s best friend, complete with farm animals, epic birthday presents, and Berger Twin sightings. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a pucking awesome happily ever after.

Another hilariously funny rom-com from Pippa Grant, the queen of LOL romance. This book’s protagonists are the Thrusters’ goalie Nick and his Sister’s best friend Kami. Some time ago they’ve come to an agreement to become friends with benefits and keeping this arrangement a secret from their friends. Enter a baby cow, forgotten birthdays, cousin Muffy and Nick’s less than stellar performance this season and we have ourselves a hysterically amusing, swooney, steamy love story!
We get to visit with the Berger twins and other favorite characters from Pippa’s previous books and welcome Felicity’s and Ares’ baby as well as spend a great, festive Christmas with the entire family! Definitely an enjoyable read, I greatly recommend to anyone looking for a laugh out loud rom-com!
This hockey team is my favorite series! Nick is the goalie, a prankster ,things don’t go well when he forgets his girlfriend’s birthday and she gives up on him can he redeem himself that’s the question!
A fantastic friends to lovers to enemies to lovers. It was so fun watching Cammie torture Nick to make him see what was right in front him all along. I love the silly pranks. As always Pippa’s books are feel good, easy, fun with a side of steamy reads.
Oh goodness this one was good. So we have a sisters best friend romance. You know you cannot tell someone not to do something, cause they end up doing it. Well Nick Murphy does not want to be tied down but because him and his team were ordered to go to charm school somethings were changing. This may not be easy for him. He is one of the biggest pranksters there is. Also he is very protective of his sister. One night he hangs out with Kami and one thing leads to another. They decide to only keep this arrangement as benefits only. However, you know someone is bound to want more. Kami does just that and oh boy just she let him have it. It was beautifully funny and I loved reading his reaction. This book definitely had me laughing more. I mean a cow dog? The presents. These two are definitely made for each other. I also loved how long it took Nick to realize what he was actually doing. He fell in love with Kami. Only he did not expect it. This is a great book to read. You will love this book, it is a great addition to this series.
Nick was annoying to me at first. He gave off the vibes that he only cared about himself. Boy, was I wrong. Nick really is charming as puck. I loved him and Kami together. Her saneness balanced out his need to be over the top. Once the layers of Nick was peeled back and we got to see the real him, I can see why Kami fell so hard. And thanks to Sugarbear, I really want a cow-dog now. Just gotta go buy a farm.
As per the norm, Pippa had me cracking up. Her witty writing gets better with each book. And every story is relatable. We get more of Ares, Zeus and the rest of the Thursters in this book which I am all about.
This is the fourth book in the Copper Valley Thrusters Series, a Romantic Comedy. Nick and Kami’s story is hilarious, sweet, and heartwarming. The supporting characters are great. Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood did a great job with the narration. I love this Series!
Here’s the thing, I went into this book with low expectations. I wasn’t expecting to like it. I thought it would be just okay. Especially since my history with the series has been mixed reviews. But Charming as Puck surprised me, and it ended up being my favorite of the series.
There was just something about Nick and Kami that I really enjoyed.
Maybe it was the friends to lovers trope. Or the best friends sibling trope. I mean I do love both of those. Or maybe it was the whole cow situation in the beginning of the book, and how Kami reacted about it all. Maybe it was how Nick realized he is a bit self absorbed.
Also, Kami utilizing Muffy’s match making business, that was so good. (plus it sets up for the next book)
I guess for me, it came down to watching the characters grow and their relationship deepen. I’m here for it.
All I can say is if you haven’t read a Pippa Grant romance you are missing out. This author always have me laughing out loud with her stories.
This one was no different. I loved Kami and Nick’s story. I know she didn’t want him to go so beyond apologizing but I loved it
Kami and Nick had a sort of ‘friends with benefits’ relationship. But unbeknown to Nick Kami has had a crush on him for a long time and with them now sleeping together it just made her feelings stronger for him. Until the day he forgot her birthday. And she decided she had had enough and ‘broke’ up with him. And she decided to go out on dates.
Nick thought he and Kami had a good understanding, until the morning he called her to remove a cow from his apartment. And from then she totally iced him out and now his game is deteriorating as well. And everyone keeps telling him he has feelings for her… Does he??
This is a hilarious story. And I loved every minute of it. From the cow in Nicks apartment to Kami telling everyone that its her new dog, lol… This story was sweet and sexy and everything you would want in a romcom. This story was perfect right up until the last epilogue. I look forward to reading more of this authors books. If you in the mood for a romantic hilariously lol book then pick up a Pippa Grant romance
I love, how the group or better said the family in the series The Copper Valley Thrusters keeps growing with every book I read. With every book Pippa Grant has me more in love with her writing. Although I already know that her books will make me laugh, this one was the funniest of them all. Hot hockey player, a vet and a ton of animals are the perfect recipe for an amazing love story. It’s so easy to fall in love with Nick and Kami and their relationship, which is escalating from friends to lovers. If you like romance novels with hot hockey players and women who sweep them off their feet, then this series is a MUST READ.
This is book 4 in the Copper Valley Thrusters – Nick and Kami. Nick is the goalie for the Copper Valley Thrusters. He does not do relationships. Kami is a vet and is one of Nick sister’s best friends. Kami has been in love with Nick for years and for the last 8 months they’ve been having a secret friends with benefits relationship. The story starts on Kami’s birthday, which Nick forgot, when he calls her to get a calf out of his apartment that one of his teammates put in his bed as a joke. For Kami, this is the last straw. She decides she’s worth someone who wants a real relationship with her instead of waiting for Nick to finally see her. Nick of course now wants her back but Kami is determined to resist his charms. Nick and Kami’s love story has a little bit of everything – sweet moments, fan your face steamy, side splitting hilarity, tearful scenes, cute animals, and heart squeezing love. On their way to their HEA while dealing with a hockey slump and terrible matchmaking attempts, Nick and Kami learn about themselves and their own worth. Nick has to realize he wants more with Kami and that he is more than just hockey. Kami has to realize that she can stand up for what she needs and she does not have to settle for less than everything. And as with all books in the Pippa Universe the secondary characters – both human and animal – are important, integral and hilarious parts of the main characters journey. With Charming as Puck, Pippa Grant once again proves she’s the queen of rom-coms and Sugarbear is the best cow-dog that has ever been.
After forgetting her birthday, Cami shuts down the secret friends with bennies arrangement she’s had with Nick Murphy for the last 8 months & ends up with a calf/puppy to add to her menagerie & a broken heart. They say you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone & that’s most definitely Nick’s problem. It takes Cami breaking up with him to make him man up, realise he loves her & set out to prove to everyone (including his own mother) he’s good enough for Cami. Caution: Berger twins sightings & glitter bombs with a little spice!
Audio Review
Nick Murphy doesn’t do anything small but he has trouble focusing on the little things so when his “friends with benefits” who happens to be his sisters friend has a birthday and he forgets it he finally sees just how important the little things are so he showers Cami with lots and lots of reminders that he does see her and he misses her too.
This book is funny and sweet and a little heartbreaking as well. There is a cow/dog, there are funny side characters, there is all the love and antics from the other players we have fell in love with in previous books and we get to watch Nick grow up and allow himself to love someone. It’s really great and I won’t spoil it for you by revealing all the funny quirky things Nick does but they are great and well thought out.
Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood were perfect as Nick and Cami. Jason captured Nick’s sexy broody side as well as his pouty it’s not my fault side. Savannah gave Cami just what was needed to show a woman that was always the happy cheerful positive one that just finally had enough and needed more than she was getting. I loved listening to both of them.
Nick and Kami finally take their on the down-low hooking up to, (gasp) public dating. Not Nick’s first choice, until he really blows it and Kami is DONE with him. Know the saying that you don’t really know what you’ll miss until it’s gone? Yeah, Nick gets a ride awakening, and not just about how much Kami means to him, but just how far up his A$$ his head has been. Throw in a cow-dog, the Berger twins, and a match making cousin who shouldn’t be, and you have a hysterical, sweet and spicy hockey romance
4 Sugarbear Stars
Charming as Puck, is the fourth book in the Thrusters Hockey Series by Pippa Grant. Nick and Kami have been introduced in previous books where we know that Kami has been in love with Nick since they were kids but Nick never saw here as anything other than his sister’s friend. Grant has left us on the road of wondering about these two for some time.
Anger and I aren’t friends. I hate anger. It’s ugly and it’s vicious and it makes me do awful things.
Nick has got it all, hockey, fame, and a perfect no-commitment, friends with benefits arrangement with Kami. But Kami is fed up with Nick’s selfishness and she’s has had enough of cleaning up after Nick’s pranks. Although it breaks her heart she ends their arrangement and decides she’s deserves the whole package not just the secret running around behind everyone’s back.
But all I really have is this gut-level feeling that her soul and my soul fit like two puzzle pieces, and I’ve just been facing the wrong direction my entire life.
I love Pippa Grant books and her quirky goings on. They’re always so funny entertaining with very likeable heroes and independent women who give those heroes a run for their money. This was no different. I laughed throughout and the secondary characters made the book so entertaining and such a brilliant read. I highly recommend this book.
I just love Pippa Grant! I love the hockey series. The characters are amazing together. Just love the book.
Charming as Puck is the fourth book in the Thrusters Hockey Series, but all of Ms. Grant’s books have cameos from previous books! Kami has loved Nick for forever, but when he forgets her birthday, she’s done. Wanting more for herself, she tries dating, but Nick is determined to win her back, not just because she’s his lucky charm, but because he can’t imagine his life without her. Will Nick get the chance to prove his love to Kami?
This book was so good, had my giggling, and I absolutely adored the relationship and connection that forms between Nick and Kami! I loved that this book was kind of low on the drama, but really focused on Nick and Kami’s relationship, his epic apology, with the added bonus of all of the Berger twins and their wives, throw in dashes of humor and love and heart warming scenes, and you have a truly amazing book. Nick. Was. Awesome! I love that he knows he’s kind of a butthead, but I loved watching him try to be better for all of the people around him, not just Kami. He has a big heart, a devious mind, and is determined to win, on and off of the ice. Kami is a big sweetheart, always willing to give her everything to those she loves, but I liked her when she showed her backbone, knowing that she deserved better. I loved her compassion and how quick she was to forgive, too. She was a perfect match for Nick, more than just chemistry and passionately, but she got him beyond just the surface level Nick, and he got her. This book didn’t make me cry, like some other books from Ms. Grant, but I still loved every moment I spent with this book, giggling and swooning and falling in love with Nick and Kami!
Pippa has done it again! She writes lovable alph-holes like no one else! Nick is a self centered hot hockey player who finds out there is more to life than hockey in the greatest way possible! Kamie, Felicity’s best friend, and Nick have been having a secret “friends-with-benefits” for a few months. Kamie has always been in love with Nick and really sees the good that she knows he has inside him. When he asks her to help him with a pranked cow, she has had it with his selfishness and realizes he’s never going to change and tells him they are over.
Nick is upset, but moves on until he realizes he can’t live without her in his life. He misses everything about her so he vows to change and win her back.
We see Nick grow into the adorable best boyfriend we all knew he had inside of him. It was great to see him find his true self as he won back Kamie’s love.
Another great story, Pippa!
Again I found myself giggling and smiling my way through this one and found myself turning on the audio while working because I wanted to keep listening! Nick has really done it this time. He missed Kami’s birthday but still called her to get the calf out of his apartment and that was the last straw. She was done…and his game was tanked. It takes a few games for him to wise up and remember and when he does he has does all on his own and when he apologizes he does it in a big way. Kami really doesn’t want anything to do with him and even though he continues to try to make amends…in a big way…it takes really getting in her way to get back in her space and once he is there he vows to stay there. So, so good!!!!! I definitely recommend this. Just another reason this author has become one of my favorites.
I am not into sports romance, but this is…not a sports romance even though the hero is a hockey player. The focus is not on the game itself, but on the sexy, hot, adorkable Nick Murphy who figures out that his friend with benefits, Cami, is his everything. From the glitter bombs to the cow dog to plenty of Berger twin antics, this is a Pippa Grant classic. Great in audio.
This is the first book of Pippa Grant’s that I read a few nights ago. I couldn’t put it down AND I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes! Now I am in the process of reading all of her other books.
If you want a story that’s a great read and that makes you laugh, check this story out! I was up until 3 a.m. reading this, because I truly could not put it down. I normally don’t read romcom’s but this author does it in spades! I’d recommend her to everyone!
