The man could charm the panties off a nun…Nick Murphy. Hockey god. My best friend’s big brother. My friend-with-mindblowing-benefits. The best thing to happen to my nether regions since my subscription to the toy of the month club. The man I’ve been secretly in love with for years. And total ass.I am so done with him.Except there’s one small problem. Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is … problem.
Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is in the toilet. He’s convinced I’m his good luck charm, and he wants me back. But only for his game.
I’ll be strong. I will. I’ll resist.
Asses don’t change their stripes.
,br>Or do they?
This plan would be so easy if the man wasn’t Charming as Puck…
Charming as Puck is a romping fun romance between a hockey player and his sister’s best friend, complete with farm animals, epic birthday presents, and Berger Twin sightings. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a pucking awesome happily ever after.

Want to know the secret remedy for stress, aggravation or just sheer boredom? A Pippa Grant book. As much as I’d like to tell you that it doesn’t matter which Grant book you read, because they’re all zany, hilarious, sexy and heartfelt, this book somehow has more of everything. Between canine neuticles, the world’s most awesome cow-dog, Johnson-Wankers, a Halloween party gone off the rails due to dueling phobias, epic apology gifts, and glitter, of course, there’s never a dull moment. (FYI, with Grant it’s never simply “glitter,” but always “glitter, of course.”) And once again I find myself trying to explain to the hubs why I’m laughing hysterically and that, no, I’m not choking and I don’t need the hemlock. (Yes, we say “hemlock” in my family, thanks to my Malapropos-stricken uncle.)
Our pucking charming hero in this book is Nick, and along with being a prankster to rival the Burger twins he’s kind of a selfish butthead. He’s also arrogant and adorable, cocky and charming, and egotistical and endearing. It’s enough to give a girl whiplash, but it’s also no wonder Kami has been crushing on the infuriatingly endearing hockey goalie since high school. Veterinarian Kami is sweet and compassionate to all species (except clowns) and generally accepting and forgiving. But now that she and Nick have been friends with benefits for months and he forgets the one day of the year important to her, we find out that she has a not-so-sweet side. She’s had enough of being nothing more than an afterthought to Nick, and she’s done.
Amidst all the hilarity and pranks, this book has a surprising amount of heart. The bad-boy prankster gets quite the incentive to take a fresh look at himself and his life and discover who he is outside of hockey. The hole Kami leaves in his life shows him how his future life might look, and he doesn’t like what he sees, which prompts some well-thought apology gifts and a campaign to show Kami how he really feels about her. His legendary redemption is humorous, because you can’t take the prankster out of the hockey player, but it’s also heart felt, poignant and sweet, and enough to make any girl lose her heart. With appearances from some of our favorite Grant characters, cameos from Maria Luis’ Blades and Lili Valente’s Badgers, a sweet but strong heroine, and a badly behaving hero you can’t help but love, this hilarious but heart-warming, swoony read is unequivocally 1-click worthy!
Where Hockey, Animal and love meet is Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant. Hold onto your sides this book is hilarious. The Pranks are so genius I need to be best friends with Pippa to learn from her evil genius.
So this books includes, a dog-cow, 3 dogs, a kitten, 2 life size spiders (Nick and Kami) 7 or 8 clowns (Zeus Berger and his posse) rabbits, a donkey (previous book with Aries Berger) ducks, Penguins at the hockey arena add on another dog-cow and about 40 stolen chickens, plus then the Thruster’ hockey team, Berger Twins, Muffy, Alina, Maren, Aunt Hilda, 30 day’s of 30 gifts and that is not including Nick and Kami’s love story. WOW all that in this hilarious book, I know I missed something… oh yeah Glitter Bombs with tiny dick confetti in the Thruster’s locker room. I’m holding my side just typing this.
When you take a selfish, self-centered, spoiled man, I mean Nick and you hook him up with the sweet, always helping others never has a mean thing to say Kami who’s been in love with Nick since around high school it’s amazing, for Nick. He forgot Kami’s birthday and angry Kami is done with the spoiled man child hence the 30 days of 30 gifts each day, including a date to an escape room where we meet the feuding Wanker’s and Johnson-Wanker’s over cows who have shaved spots that look like penis’ and stealing chickens, Kami turned 30. Kami tells Nick it’s done, she’s done, that they can’t see each other again, no more hook-ups. He knows he’s seriously messed up and he needs to get her back.
After realizing that life without Kami is not life he wants to live. So, he digs deep and asks for help in getting her back, even though he’s never been in a real relationship, no girlfriends only hook-ups or the puck bunnies that try to get with hockey players. So in between pranks between Zeus Berger and Nick, Nick realizes he’s been in love with Kami at least a few months and she’s his best friend she gets him and all the stupid things he does.
After all the pranks, gifts, animals, friends and well not friends Nick and Kami find their HEA.
Can’t wait to see what Pippa’s next book will be.
Run don’t walk to get this one. I have read every book that this author has written, and it’s always impossible to pick a favorite. I still can’t really a favorite book, but I think Nick and Kami are my new favorite couple of hers. As usual this book with a don’t eat or drink while reading warning.
