NICO
She serves me coffee late at night when I come around to write lyrics,
but it’s not the caffeine I’ve gotten addicted to.
We’ve got the spark, but she’s the only woman in town
who seems to be immune to my charms.
When it’s time for me to leave for my cross-country tour,
I just can’t imagine not seeing her for months.
So I offer her a job on the road with me.
KAT
Everyone in LA knows … months.
So I offer her a job on the road with me.
KAT
Everyone in LA knows that Nico Todd has a way with songs and with the ladies.
What he doesn’t know is that I would love to let him have his way with me.
But my life can only revolve around one infuriatingly cute guy—
the six-year-old that I live with.
Imagine my surprise when Nico finds out about my little boy
and tells me to bring him and my mom on the road too.
And imagine Nico’s surprise when he realizes my son
is the biggest charmer of them all.
*This is a 79,000 word steamy romantic comedy novel.

This was such a great book. I loved Shane, Shane was everything but I’m sorry Shane you need to move on over for Nico. Holy moly was he amazing. He was nothing like I expected him to be. I kind of expected a cocky, full of himself rockstar type, but instead we get and incredibly sensitive, loving, sexy songwriter and Kat, well Kat is just as amazing even if she didn’t give Nico a chance at first and together they are absolutely perfect. There were so many moments in this book, like in Sleeper that I went awwwww so cute. So many funny moments. I love the journals just like I did in the last book. I really enjoyed the two books. They are they first I have read from Kayley Loring and I really enjoy her writing style. It’s original and fresh I love how she wove in actual people and things from the real world into both books, it definitely gave both of them more realistic feeling. Also I am very happy that Tate got his little sister. Definitely a five stay read!
*** I did receive a free advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for fair and honest review***
MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE…did I mention that Nico was MINE? Yeah, totally meant to. Nico, Nico, my Nico, for all of you that haven’t seen my social media….I have a whole claiming shirt devoted to my Nico…and yeah, it’s just as funny as it sounds. Oh and before I forget, you may see other people trying to claim my man…but I got the claiming tee…and a claiming stamp.
Nico is Willa’s brother and Shane’s bestie from Sleeper, the wild musician, but one look at the beautiful waitress and all that changes. He goes almost everyday to see her at work, it’s really so cute, I love that he has such a huge crush on her. Loved this story, and reading about their relationship evolve despite her efforts to keep her attraction under control…pfft….that obviously didn’t work out for her. I mean it’s freaking Nico Todd and he is completely irresistible to EVERYONE, of all ages.
This was a safe read. Nico was one of my all time favorite male characters. He is sweet and will make you fall so hard for everything about him. I mean he goes to see her at work, and says they are having a 30 second date walking her to her car, just to spend time with her…seriously, loved, loved, loved my Nico so much. He’s so emotional and raw, which is a sexy combination, throw in his sweet thoughtfulness and this one is mythical, like finding a unicorn. He also goes from having her mom taking up for her daughter, to taking up for him instead of her daughter, seriously everyone loves this guy. This book was hilarious. Loved the Nico Todd Songwriting Journals and Kat’s Video Diary’s. Oh, and his Grammie, funny af handful. We get to see some of our favorite characters from the first book, Shane, Willa and their twins, which I’m sure you remember what a handful they are. And some new favorites too, her mom and son. 2 epilogues, yeah you read that right, and an hea. I welcome you to come and fall in love with Nico Todd too, he’s out now…you’re welcome.

I am totally smitten, in love, and CHARMED by Kayley Loring’s newest book!!
Nico Todd hasn’t been looking for long term, but it is said, when you find the ONE, you just know. Nico is drawn to the new waitress at a diner close to his home and no matter what he tries to tell himself (which his inner monologues are hilarious) he can’t tear himself away from the beautiful, red-lipped woman, even when she turns down his charm.
Kat Dempsey works hard at avoiding Nico’s flirting. Yes, she isn’t a complete idiot, but she is a single mother with a six year old son and she doesn’t have room in her life for a gorgeous musician (much to her body’s dismay).
When these two are together the chemistry is seriously hot, but even when they are not you will find yourself laughing over their inner thoughts or swooning over their relationship ride.
As far as Nico Todd is concerned, he is simply adorable! I want all of his focus, attention, and smooth talking charm sent my way. Between him and Shane (from Kayley’s Sleeper book and also Nico’s best friend) I don’t know whom I love more, they are both amazing.
Kat’s son, Tate, is super cute! Books with tenacious, precious children are my ultimate kryptonite and not only do you get Tate, but you also get a brief bite of Shane’s twins who give Nico a run for his money. Kayley writes the best scenes with children so be prepared to be entertained.
This entire book was excellent from beginning to end. Every character was brilliant. You will not go wrong picking up this charming story today!
This slow burn was cute and enjoyable read. I loved the was Nico for the beginning that Kat was special. I loved how he went out of this way to spend more time with her and in the end her family.
Kat was a complex woman. She was smart, funny and talented non more way that one. Together they were explosive Nd I loved that when things started to get bumpy they didn’t run and hide but managed to understand that they are worth all the pain if it means they are together in the end.
This is a new-to-me author and I’m a fan.

This has been a fun series so far! I have loved the light and airy storylines. Charmer was the second book in Kayley’s Name In Lights series. It was fun, flirty, and sweet!
Nico had always been a player, he was not ready to settle until he met her. He had started out writing but she soon became the reason he kept coming back to the coffee shop. She seemed to want nothing to do with him so he knew he needed to up the charm!!
Kat was not looking for just one night. She had goals and nothing was going to stop her. Not even Nico’s endless flirting. Except he always said and did the right thing. When he offered her a job, would she be able to continue to say no?
Awe!! Nico was just so sweet, and the way he was with her son…swoon! Great addition to this series. Can’t wait to dive into Troublemaker!
It’s the story of Nico, a singer songwriter who is infatuated with Kat, a cafe waitress. She doesn’t want to complicate her life further as she’s a single mum with a cute as heck 6 year old son that has some of the best dialogue. He pursues her hard and eventually she relents. Their journey is funny but with real emotions and a whole host of great side characters.
Oh my life Grams is so freaking funny! A$$canoe!!! Yep she comes out with some seriously funny one liners and keeps Nico on his toes but also his feet firmly on the ground. She’s his dose of reality and she delivers that reality in the funniest of ways. Tate is Kat’s cutie pie son and “Toilet Gate” made me laugh so hard. “Code Brown! Code Brown!” As well as all this hilarity there are real emotions and just a smidgen of angst. Kayley also has a bunch of song lyrics in this one that I actually thought were pretty good! There’s also a hot as hell haircut in Chapter 16!
Jason’s smooth, rich voice is perfect for playboy Nico who falls madly, head over heels for Kat. We even get some singing! As always he gives us emotions and laughs. Mackenzie Cartwright is a new narrator to me and I really enjoyed her performance. She had a great range of voices and good comedic timing.
This is my first Kayley book and I absolutely loved it. The perfect balance of one liners that will crack you up and emotions and heat to keep you turning those pages or from hitting that stop button.
The book is good, it doesn’t have a great plot, just that he likes her and he is willing to take her on tour just to be with her (a bit lame), we also can consider the relationship with her son, but when something could have happened with the father….nothing. Anyway the characters are cute, their relationship fine, I would rather have a girl with more wit and character…..come on….you know why you are in that tour. Nevertheless the book was entertaining and easy to read, therefore the 4 stars
I enjoyed this story so much. When I met Nico in the previous book, Sleeper, I was dying to read his story. He was the typical playboy bachelor and you just knew it was going to be a good one.
Now that is sister is settled with his best friend. Nico starts to have this unsettled feeling. And seeing the diner waitress, that he has the hots for is just making him more confused.
Kat is doing the best she can, being a single mom. She is not looking for a relationship at all, as her son is her only priority. So when she meets Nico she can’t believe this is the same Rockstar that is in her diner, and she instantly feels that someone like him will never be interested in someone liker her. And especially when he finds out she is a single mom. But she is never more surprised when he is interested in her and invites them along on his tour. But can she trust him with her son and more importantly with her heart…
I loved this book, even though I love drama in my romance book, this was just a nice sweet, funny different pure romance story, and it had a single parent to boot. My favourite.
This was my first read from Kayley Loring and it was a great introduction to her writing. This is the story of the rock star and the single mom with the cutest kid ever.
Nico Todd is one of the hottest men on the planet who could have any woman he wanted but when he meets Kat, the night shift waitress in his local diner he falls for her hard. Kat does not date musicians because they are too much trouble, and even though she feels the sizzle between them she has enough on her hands with her son. But Nico will not take no for an answer and he keeps coming back finally talking Kat into a 30 second date with him. It is mind blowing for Kat but she still refuses to take it any further.
When Nico runs into Kat at the store and meets her son Tate he is amazed to find that he is not scared off but instead wants to know them more so he is not giving up and makes Kat an offer that she can’t refuse.
This is such a fun read with wonderful characters especially the adorable Tate who really is the star of the show. You have to fall for Nico who is hot and sexy but still such a nice guy so unlike what we expect of a rockstar. Kat is the determined woman whose first priority will always be her son, and it is good to see her finally thinking about herself and having a scorching hot romance with Nico. It really is tough to put this one down it is so enjoyable, and I will definitely be reading more of Kayley’s books.
This is a fun, sweet romance with some great characters that kept me interested from start to finish.
I loved Nico. He’s hot but so sweet. I adored everything about this guy. I loved how he felt about Kat, how lost he felt with his newfound feelings, how he was so willing to do what he had to just to spend more time with her. Kat is another great character and I loved how she was always thinking of her son.
This is one of those books that leave you with that feel good feeling and if you like a single mum/ hot musician romance, I definitely recommend this one.
Nico is a musician who has his sites set on Kat who is a waitress and single mom who works hard to support them. No spoilers: this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a beautifully written story which is emotion, humorous, and with engaging characters which all lead to a steamy read which had me totally hooked throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend for all readers.
Charmer will Charm your heart and you will fall in love with these characters especially a little boy who is too smart for his age. For those of us who have read, Sleeper and met Nico we were dying to read more about him. Now we can, here! Being famous, Nico was used to people throwing themselves at him so when he meets Kat while writing songs and trying to enjoy his coffee and sees he has no effect on her it is quite funny how it messes with his ego. Kat is a single mother and devoted to raising her son. She feels the connection they have and can have; however, she puts the pause on this knowing he isn’t the settle down type of guy and she has her son to think about. Love how Nico handles how he gets what he wants while giving her want she wants. Know it is bland, but I won’t ruin this for you. It melts your heart! It ain’t easy being on the road and this story shows just how hard it is with a child. It breaks your heart when it comes to the something that happens when exposed to the media (all I will say to not ruin anything), but your heart will melt when you see just how Nico handled it and the bond he has with this little man. It is realistic and will Charm your heart! I love the lyrics, video diary and banter we see in this book. Love music and tours, you will love this connection these characters have and how it plays out.
I don’t know if it’s just me but I prefer stories where the guy doesn’t fall for the girl right away. The moment the story started Nico was almost in love with Kat. For him to be a celebrity and almost every day going to see her just seemed a little stalkerish. Didn’t help for me that he is all of sudden celibate and talking about his empty, aching heart. I know it’s just a person preference but it turned me off. It was a cute story but just wasn’t for me but if you like those kinds of stories you would like this one.
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
This was a fun story with engaging characters that kept me reading. It took me a little while to get used to the writing in the book but once I did I was all in. I liked Kat’s strength and her devotion to her son Tate. It was fun watching Nico navigate not only his feelings for Kat but Tate as well. I was happy that it wasn’t all plain sailing in their relationship. They had to work for their HEA , I liked how they communicated openly even if the words hurt.
First read from Kayley but won’t be my last! Nico meets Kat and sparks fly instantly, but Kat keeps him at arm’s length because she has a secret in the form of a six-year old. Thanks to chance, Nico ends up meeting Kat’s son and doesn’t run away, therefore starting their love story. Not wanting to leave but having to go on tour, Nico decides to give Kat the offer of a lifetime that would help launch her career – to go on tour with him. It’s definitely a learning curve for this couple, who continue to try to fight their feelings and fail miserably, but also get to know each other as a unit and with a young child. I loved how realistc the relationship was – the attitudes and personalities that make a young child just that, and how he fought his mother tooth and nail when it was involving something he wanted. Overall, I enjoyed this book – I just wish I read the first book in the series first to get a better understanding of Nico and his playboy ways prior to this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I really liked this book and the characters, I read it in one sitting, I can’t wait to see what comes next from this author!
