Is their love the perfect Christmas gift…or a curse?Allan D’Alessandro thought he had his ticket out of Hell secured. Until his alleged “soul mate” bailed, leaving him only three weeks — three weeks — to lose his heart and be loved in return. For real. Or for real he can kiss the Hollywood glamor, the hilltop house, the Tesla roadster goodbye. And say hello to his old job as Asmodeus, object of … to his old job as Asmodeus, object of his fellow demons’ eternal derision.
But there’s that aquamarine-eyed wedding planner who pulled off Lucifer’s nuptials without a hitch. She’s all about romance, right? Wooing her should be a piece of cake. Wedding cake, if he plays his cards right.
Belinda Carson has had to get used to letting men walk out of her life. She has no choice — any man who falls in love with a Carson witch is guaranteed a gruesome fate. So she uses her magic to create perfect weddings…just not her own.
But surely there’s no harm in indulging in a harmless holiday fling with the sandy-haired Hollywood agent whose megawatt smile lights up her world. After New Year’s, they’ll go their separate ways. They’ve agreed. It’s all set.
Except he’s dismantled all her defenses. And this time, her heart isn’t letting go….

Charmed, I’m Sure by Christine Pope is the second in her The Devil You Know series.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Note: this review contains spoilers!
This has to be one of the most unique romance books I’ve read. You don’t have God coming down too often and making deals with demons. Telling them that they can become mortal and stay out of hell if they can fall in love with a mortal woman and have her fall in love with them. The only catch is they have one year to do it.
Asmodeus, or Allan, likes living on earth. It’s much better than hell! But the lady he was counting on ditches him the first of December and he doesn’t have much time to find a replacement. Belinda is an event planner and a witch. And cursed. If she loves a mortal man, something terrible will happen to him. So when Allan suggests they have a relationship for the two weeks until New Year’s eve, she agrees. She can’t fall in love with him that fast can she?
But he can’t tell her he’s a demon and she can’t tell him she cursed. Can they used to searching for love actually find it before New Year’s Eve?
You’re going to have to read the book in order to find out!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I look forward to the next book in the series.
This is a fun, feel-good read. There is a strong undercurrent of humor. I found myself grinning and chuckling throughout the book. Both Asmodeus, who is a devil, and Belinda are painted as very human, despite their supernatural characters. He’s not the “fire and brimstone” vision of the Bible (and neither is God, who makes brief appearances, the formidable Jehovah). And she’s not a powerful, wicked witch. Neither seems to know that the other has supernatural or magical talents. This adds to the humor. Of course, Allan’s former partner in Hell, Beelzebub, wants Allan back helping him run Hell, so he’s just one more humorous obstacle in the course of true love. How it works out in the end is an engaging, enjoyable story, well told. The text flowed very smoothly, with good syntax throughout.
Allan D’Alessandro, previously known as the devil Asmodeus, is a big-name agent in Hollywood with all the trappings: house, Tesla, success. But he has a deadline if he wants to remain in “the good life” and not return to Hell. He must find true love before the New Year, which is in less than 3 weeks. Belinda Carson is under a family curse, never to know the love of a man or the security of a husband, and calamity will fall upon any man foolish enough to love her. This makes having a normal relationship difficult, and sets the stage for the relationship tension to develop (which it does, despite Belinda’s efforts to remain aloof and professional). She seems fated to be always the wedding planner, never the bride, despite the efforts of her business partner, as she tries to follow the advice of her grandmother to remain uninvolved.
