From a secret duo of USA Today Bestselling Authors, comes the first COMPLETE STANDALONE in the Modern Love Series.Who knew sleeping with the enemy could be this fun?Was the one night stand a good idea?Well, no. Probably not in retrospect. In my defense I had just moved back into my grandparent’s house, I’d lost my dream job, and a guy on Tinder had stood me up. It was like life had suddenly … It was like life had suddenly stamped ‘LOSER’ on my forehead.
So when the guy behind the bar started giving me THE look…you know, the one that promised I’d be screaming his name into the wee hours of the morning? When that guy also has the perfect amount of scruff on his chiseled chin, biceps bulging out of his t-shirt, and a cocky grin you knew he’d earned in the sack…when he gives you that look, you don’t bother to figure out what your six degrees of separation are. You jump on that horse and ride it!
Pun fully and completely intended. And accurate by the way.
I fully admit to feeling sorry for myself and acting impulsively, but by the time I’d figured out WHO the bartender was, I was already falling for him.
** Note: This book was previous titled “The Bartender”. Same great story with a fresh new look. **

This author makes you believe your in her book. Love love loved this book. Keeps the reader interested. Love the characters. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
Great book 1 of a series of 3. I loved the characters and found the relationship between the friends to be authentic. There’s lots of fun and steamy romance to be had.
This book was funny, sweet with just a touch of angst. The story of Whitney and Cole was perfect.
Piper Rayne knocked it out of the park with their debut novel!
Sweet and fun!
The Bartender is a story of a girl who can’t catch a break and a guy who’s not quite what he seems. What was only supposed to be a one-night stand turns into so much more when Cole and Whitney are thrown together to help his brother and her best friend plan their wedding. Even as a friendship develops, the chemistry can’t be denied.
While on the surface this might look like your typical romcom, The Bartender has a lot of heart and even some, dare I say, feels. I really enjoyed the relationship between Whitney and Cole, and how things between them grew and progressed. Cole is strong and swoony- with a lot more to him than meets the eye. Whitney’s had a rough time of it lately and is just looking for a good time, not expecting to get caught up in all that is Cole Webber!
Although I was hoping for a little more there at the end, overall this is a really well written, entertaining read. Not a lot of angst and drama, just enough to keep you on your toes. I’m really looking forward to the next books in the series, focusing on Whitney’s 2 best friends!
Charmed by the Bartender is the first book in the Modern Love Trilogy by authors Piper Rayne and IT’S FREAKING FANTASTIC!! This Romantic Comedy has it all but will still leave you wanting more! I read this from cover to cover in one sitting, that shows that the writing is addictive, the characters have a bond that pulls this book together and it’s hilarious, sweet, and steamy all rolled into one great book. The dog, Sparky, is a great addition and I loved that he was adopted by the human he chose…
Modern Love Series is about 3 best friends who are complete opposites but they have a bond that is unbreakable. We get to read about their antics and the path they follow to love and a HEA.
In this book we read about Whitney “Whit” Knight and Cole Webber who meet in his family’s bar while he is bar-tending and she is there to meet a hook-up from the online site Tender. The hook-up never shows, she ends up drunk, wakes up in Cole’s bed and can’t remember if they done the DEED! Later she comes face to face with him at her best friends engagement party and realizes his real identity. Cole is known as a Man-whore and she was stood up by him some six years ago and blames him for the events that took place immediately after.
Cole and Whit are thrown together in their duties as Best Man and Maid of Honor. He realizes she doesn’t remember a thing about their night together and so he bribes her. If she can sustain from being so bitchy each time they are together then he will tell her one thing about “that night”.
Whit realizes she is being charmed but doesn’t want to become one of the “Webber Wenches”. She finally gives in to him and his “Unicorn Cock” but her life is still in shambles and secrets still exist between them that must come out and when they do….will they find out if love is possible for them?
This is a great book to read if you want something on the light side. There wasn’t to much drama or to much sex. Just a ton of good banter and strong connections. The book started out a little slow but I think it helped build up an understanding as to how close these 3 friends are. The relationship with Whit and Cole started out slow too, or at least I think it did on Whit’s side. But it was a nice change of pace from all these insta-love romances. I loved Whit and Cole and the relationship that they had building. Cole wasn’t afraid to take anything that Whit threw at him and was more than willing to call her out on it. I get Whit’s refusal to let things progress but I was glad when she finally decided that she couldn’t fight their connection anymore. Sparky was a much loved added bonus. His craziness helped add that playfulness to the story. Great debut story for a new to me author.
The Bartender is a quick, fun and hilarious read! Whitney, Tahlia and Lennon are some amazing friends who are all trying to find their “unicorn cock”. This story was about Whitney and Cole, the bartender who also happens to be her friend Tahlia’s soon to be brother in law. I absolutely adored this book! It had me laughing and missing my girlfriends at the same time! I highly recommend The Bartender!
