A hot mess runaway bride and a smokin’ hot biker lock eyes at a red light. Lord have mercy . . . is our little town of Charmed, Texas ready for this? Never one to do things by the book, Micah Roman couldn’t just chalk it up to bridal jitters, or even quietly call off her wedding to her long-time fiancé. No, she has to high-tail it out of the church sporting a dress that cost more than her car, … cost more than her car, and jump on the back of a smoking-hot stranger’s motorcycle. Her knight in all-black is headed to a town called Charmed, so that’s where she’ll go and try to lay low. Except their appearance raises plenty of eyebrows . . . and a sudden, intense attraction she has no business exploring.
Who knew picking up a damsel in distress would lead to lust at first sight? Leo McKane headed to Charmed prepared to deal with some family secrets–including his status as long-lost brother. This runaway bride is an unexpected distraction his set agenda and loner lifestyle doesn’t include. She’s everywhere he turns, getting under his skin with her quirky, headstrong ways and eyes he can’t forget. But when Micah’s jilted ex comes looking for her and opens up his shady past, Leo knows he has a choice to make.
They both do.
Run to safer ground again? Or take a leap that their untrusting hearts are wary to take.

Charmed at First Sight by Sharla Lovelace
Charmed in Texas #4
This is a runaway bride story with Micah Roman, flower grower, getting cold feet just before walking down the aisle. Micah jumps on the back of a motorcycle with a man completely unknown but with whom she almost instantly feels comfortable with. Jeremy, a man she has spent almost a decade with, is the man left behind and a manipulating man like him who could hide his true colors for so long…questionable. Anyway, Micah ends up in Charmed with only what she is wearing and unsure what will happen next she is definitely front and center in the small town’s drama-gossip-fest that ensues shortly after her high heeled food hits the pavement. But she is also quickly taken in and given a helping hand and offered friendship by more than one who meets her.
Leo McKane, motorcycle savior, is on his way to Charmed to try to mend fences with his brother, Nick (book one of the series). With bartending and land clearing and perhaps other means of income he does not hit it off with Nick immediately and some effort is needed before the brothers manage to begin mending fences.
Leo and Micah have instant attraction and chemistry but there are also issues and secrets and people that might keep them apart.
I liked Gabi and found out she will be starring in the next book of the series and her love interest will be one of Micah’s brothers. I am curious about both Tucker and Jackson, Micah’s brothers, and wonder about Gabi’s sister Drew. Charmed sounds like a “charming” place to live with that small town vibe and happily ever after endings for most. I enjoy this author and have enjoyed this series though this is probably not my very favorite book in the series…it was still very very enjoyable.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington – Lyrical Shine for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
DISCLAMOUR: Just because the book doesn’t rate high with me DOESN’T mean that someone else may not enjoy it to it’s fullest. It just didn’t click with me but may to others.
The premise of this story was a good one. For some reason though it really didn’t resonate with me. I would put the book down and read another story and come back to this one read a little more and put it down again. There were passages that I would have to read and re-read over to understand what the author was trying to convey. This is the first of the series that I have read so I had a hard time keeping track of some of the prior characters.
I did love the snarky thoughts that Micah had. This was not written in a dual POV format. At least that I can remember (again, I had to put it down several times to read other books.) I enjoy those the most as they help me to connect with both protagonists. That doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy them but it feels like something is missing to me.
This is a sexy read so really no one under the age of 18 should read this.
Loved it. Thanks.
I absolutely loved this book and all of the quirky, friendly and oh-so-sexy small town characters that live in the imagination of this wonderful author. The heroine, Micah, is a hot mess when we meet her on her wedding day and from the moment she hops on the back of a stranger’s motorcycle her life takes a turn for the better. Leo is the perfect romantic foil for Micah because he’s a hot mess too, trying to redeem himself and get back in his younger brother’s graces so these two have a whole lot of things in common. Great writing, lots of humor, flirtation and a hot sparks of sexual awareness that when combined makes a very entertaining contemporary romance that you won’t soon forget. I read a complimentary copy of this book provided by Kensington Books through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
Good book! Took me to a “happy” place!
As the saying goes, “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,” but a scorned woman has nothing on Micah’s poor little rich, psychotic, soon-to-be ex. So it’s looking like leaving him at the alter and hopping on the back of a stranger’s motorcycle to get out of town while still wearing her forty-pound wedding dress may not be the worst spontaneous decision she’s ever made. She just needs a little time to hide out in Charmed, Texas, to get her bearings and figure out where she goes next with her life. In the meantime, the delightful citizens of Charmed welcome her into their lives, while the not so delightful citizens now have new fodder for their gossip and catty remarks.
You gotta love a small town setting, especially when done as well as this author portrays it. Lovelace is a new author for me, and I’m so glad to have found her. Her setting, characters and story have thoroughly and utterly, well, charmed me. I quickly fell for Micah and Leo as they reluctantly fell for each other. They are complex, multi-layered and perfectly imperfect, making their story down to earth and relatable as it effortlessly captivated me. I adore the secondary characters and can’t wait for my next visit to this quirky, delightful little town. I’ll be quickly working my way through the rest if this series and wholeheartedly recommend this humorous, heartwarming, enchanting story.

These two outsiders struggle to find themselves and a place for themselves in the quaint little town of Charmed. Leo left town a long time ago in an effort to keep trouble away from his little brother. Now that he’s back, he’s having to come to terms that leaving his family protect them did just the opposite.
Micah is literally the runaway bride. Standing in the anteroom just before she was to walk down the aisle, she realizes that she can’t spend the rest of her life playing a role she doesn’t like. Yes, she wants to be a wife and mother someday, but only if the man in question respects her for who she is, not what he wants her to become.
I found that Leo’s reasons for returning now weren’t fully explored and could have used a little more explanation. Micah’s reasons for giving up on her marriage before it began are fully believable. Many times, I think women find themselves agreeing to a relationship in order to please others, not that it necessarily fulfills a need within them. Micah’s method may not have pleased her family, but it gave her the time she needed to figure out exactly who she wants to be.
I enjoyed this story and can’t wait to see what happens next in Charmed.
Reviewers on the Wicked Reads Review Team were provided a free copy of Charmed at First Sight (Charmed in Texas #4) by Sharla Lovelace to read and review.
Charmed at First Sight by Sharla Lovelace is book Four in the Charmed in Texas series. This is the story of Micah Roman and Leo McKane. I haven’t yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Micah is about to be married but ends up doing a ‘Runaway Bride” dash out the wedding. Micah then jumps onto the back of the bike owned by Leo. Which leads her to start discovering what she used to be and what she wants to be now instead of her past self with her former fiancé. Leo too has things he has to work on but the two start finding out that they can be themselves with each other.
Really enjoyable read!
Charmed in Texas has been such as great series and this book is another great addition! It sounds like such a quaint and quirky little town, and I wish I could visit it myself! This is Leo and Micah’s story, and it was such a fun read! Micah is a runaway bride and meets Leo by chance. I did find it a little odd that she just happened to run into Leo after running out of the church. But then that would have changed the entire story. There also was a little confusion about Leo and his estrangement. However, you’ll have to read the book to know what I am talking about! It was still a fantastic read, and I was hooked from start to finish. I highly recommend this book and the entire series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Runaway bride meets hot hero on a motorcycle! I LOVE Charmed, Texas!! Leo and Micah’s story has angst, fun times and romance with a little touch of mystery to make it my favorite story so far in this series!! I was taken in from the very beginning and didn’t want it to end!
There is something about Charmed, TX that gets me every time. No lie, I had a giant moony grin on my face before I even cleared the first chapter, and that grin held steady for almost the entirety of this story. It just felt good and because of that, I never wanted to leave.
Honestly, Charmed is the perfect name for this pleasant, quirky little town. It’s how I’ve felt while reading every single book in this series. The writing is smart and laced with humor and heart – a combination I find completely irresistible. And the characters? Talk about a band of zany, lovable little misfits and I’d be hard pressed to pick a favorite. But, since this is Leo and Micah’s story, let’s talk about them for a bit…
Heart. Eyeballs.
Oh, you want more? They – well – they charmed me. Utterly and completely. Their story moves very quickly so we’re dealing with a bit of insta-love here, but I didn’t feel that. It didn’t feel rushed and I didn’t feel like I didn’t understand the attraction the way that I sometimes do while reading an insta-love story. I felt like their chemistry was on point and their interactions were written in such a way that my heart started banging around in my chest from nearly the first encounter – which made it a little more believable to me that Micah’s might have too. In any case, I completely bought into their fast and furious attraction and feasted on all the warm, ooey gooey things it did to my heart.
Beyond the romance? So. Much. Goodness. The friendships. The loyalties. The easy-to-hate villain. The small-town quirkiness. I am completely in love with this town, I swear and every new book is starting to feel a little bit like coming home. Charmed at First Sight was another fantastic addition to this wonderful series and I’m already excited for more!
This is such a good story. I really liked it! So happy to be back in Charmed! I love this little town in Texas and these characters that Ms Lovelace has created for us. This story is about Micah Roman and Leo McKane and their very interesting and intense beginning and end and everything in between. How their love just grows like wildflowers until it can’t be ignored. Loved their initial meeting where he rides up like a prince and whisks her away from what could have been a huge mistake if she hadn’t come to her senses. Only this prince rides a Harley not a white horse. He is headed to Charmed for a job but he also hopes to find his brother who he has not seen in years, so Micah tags along and then decides to stay there for a bit. Little did she know how much this town and these people would change her life. This story took some turns that I certainly was not expecting but it just added to the likability of it. I like that by having Micah mix in and easily make friends and Leo bartending at a local hang out, we get a look at what some of the others in Charmed have been up to. This story has everything I love in a romance; great characters, chemistry, heat, humor, some trouble and most of all a HEA.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this book!
