Charlotte’s Web was selected as one of the young adult book’s to read on the Children’s Book Readathon I’m hosting on my blog this month. This classic by E.B. White has been seen countless times on television, but how many of us have actually read the book? This is my second read and review, but I’m glad to dive back in as you discover so much …
This is the book that started it all for me. I loved the idea of Charlotte trying to help Wilbur, even though they were so different. It didn’t matter to her that she was a spider and he was a pig. The most important thing to her was that her friend needed help.
An absolutely perfect way to spend an afternoon.
All these years and I still cannot get through this book without shedding a tear.
I read this book years ago as a child and it is “the” book that gave me the passion for books and reading that I still carry with me as an adult today. I may have to read this again. Such a sweet novel.
A classic I remember from my childhood, so I always enjoy a quick re-read every now and then!
I Loved this book as a child and I still love it as an adult. How absolutely divine to have a best friend when you need it most. To have the love and capacity to give. To be a true friend and want nothing in return but friendship. I love the contrary Tempelton. The stubborn geese. The friend ship between Wilbur and Charlotte is the stuff dreams …
A required reading must
Absolute favorite as a child. Not only does it touch upon the most difficult topic to discuss, death, but it teaches us that having a friend and being one can mean the world.
I remember my third grade teacher reading this book. She only read a chapter at a time but what a way to get our creative juices going. I remember being so curious about how stories could come alive. I became an avid reader and reading was my escape from a tragic childhood
I loved this book when I was young. I always like the lesson about accepting people and creatures for who and what they are.
My favorite childhood read
Loved this as a child!
Every sentence is perfect. An absolute masterpiece.
In this classic tale of friendship, love, and change, we are brought into the lives of a humble pig and a clever spider. I decided to reread this book after watching the animated movie, and I was not disappointed. This story captured my heart and drew me right in to the emotional story of a spider using her wits to outsmart the humans to save the …

What a joy to travel back in time and listen to the tale of Wilbur, Charlotte, and the laugh out loud funny geese of the Zuckerman farm. Listening to the audiobook provided an entirely new appreciation for the children’s story. Narrated by the author, E.B. White, his rendition of the farmyard animals was both delightful and memorable. A true …
Charlotte’s Web is a must read to your kids!
This is a delightful book. No wonder it is a classic children’s read and has earned a place on the “Great American Read List.” This beautiful story about two unlikely friends, a pig and a spider, teaches about understanding and love, friendship and kindness, judgment and how important it is to learn about others before judging them, about the vast …
