“This is the first book in a new series and boy does it start with a bang….” Read All About It.“If you’ve read any of this author’s books, then you know that you should expect the unexpected. The first book in this new series continues Ms. Peer’s great storytelling skills with humor, twists and turns in Cultivated. Throw in a good looking charismatic psychopath and away you go down the ”rabbit … the ”rabbit hole”… Intense events and a storyline that hooks you.” LupeLikesThis!

Liv, a beautiful young woman, met Charles at a coffeehouse in college. It wasn’t until five years later that Charles’ grandfather hired Luv to get Charles out of a cult in Ireland. Charles doesn’t like his grandfather and thinks the cult leader is wonderful until Liv’s love and questions open Charles’ eyes. With the cult leader under investigation and his actions towards Liv questionable, Charles begins to believe something truly is wrong. The characters are perfect and utterly believable, the storyline is strong, enjoyable and perfectly written. Read this first book in Elin Peer’s new series and find out the suspenseful ending. You’ll love it! – Monica
I would recommend the book “Charlie” written by Elin Peer. It is the first book in her series, Cultivated. I read it on Kindle Unlimited; thanks to Ms Peer’s generosity. When Charlie and Charles met there was an undeniable attraction from the beginning. They reconnected years later as she worked to tempt Charles away from a cult he had joined. The founder of the cult was a charismatic manipulator. Even so, I wasn’t prepared for the climatic ending. This was one of those books I read well past my bedtime. This book has earned it’s 5 out of 5 stars in my eyes.
Charlie is well written with mind manipulation at it’s finest with flawed characters and so realistic, I felt like I was living through it myself. All the angst and heart pounding suspense twisted my core into knots. It’s a page turner that you do not want to put down! Well worth the read!
Elin Peer has done it again, Charlie is the first novel in her Cult series. Liv first met Charles at a coffee shop while in university. Years pass…..Charles’s grandfather would like to hire Liv to try and lure his grandson away from a cult.
This novel will make you sit and think and wonder how so many people can get caught up and be blind to what is happening in their world. Well written, very intense at times yet you keep turning those pages…. enjoy!
No spoilers of any kind included!
Charlie was an amazing beginning to a new series by Elin Peer!
It reeled me in before I had even finished the first chapter and it kept me hooked until I had gotten to the end of the story where I was left needing more.
But then again every book that I read from Madam Peer does that since she is an awesome story weaver!
So it’s a big YES I most definitely do recommend this book because I absolutely loved it and I think you will too!
I can’t say enough about this writer…Elin Peer is easily becoming 1 of my Top 5 go to Authors and that is saying something because I read all genres not just romance.
So let’s get to it…”Charlie” Charlie Charlie Charlie ..well I literally finished this book in less than 8hours..lol. Just like the rest of Elin Peer’s Books…you will not be able to put it down and it will leave you starving for the next book in the series. The book was so intense and emotional overwhelming at time….it will leave you thinking about what’s important in your own life. Love Love this Book…only downside is that I have to wait for book 2 to come out.

WOW!!!! This book gave me a book hangover! I started the book and in one sitting I finished it at 4am this morning. I had to take the time to digest what I just read. I was blown away by this book. You get so infested in the characters lives! You root for them and root against the bad guy! Oh and the bad guy is pure evil and the way Elin describes him and his actions you can feel his vileness. Gave me goose bumps. You fall in love with Charles and Liv. There is such an innocence about them both. There love for each other is felt in these pages. I can not wait to see where the story goes next. If you like suspenseful romance books then this one is for you! I would give this book 100 stars if I could!!
I remember the first time I picked up an Elin Peer book. I had not heard of her nor had read any of her books. I was totally taken back by her writing and have continued to be with each new release. The current offering is absolutely no exception. This story is well written and detailed. The characters are very believable and easy to relate to. This is a definite recommendation to those who enjoy romantic suspense. I am already looking forward to the next book. I received a free copy of the book but my review is completely voluntary and unbiased.
Elin Peer has done it again. Charlie, the first book in her Cultivated series, is wonderful. It’s a combination love story and suspenseful thriller. Will Liv’s love save Charles? Will she be able to get him away from the cult that has him brainwashed and trapped? Charlotte Liv Christensen and Charles McCann Robertson are a beautiful couple. Their characters are so well-developed you feel like they are real people. Elin Peer is excellent at making her characters come to life. I loved this story and couldn’t put it down. I absolutely recommend it.
Elin Peer’s characters engage @ start —>finish— >next book—>repeat!
Elin Peer’s characters engage readers from start to finish to begging for more. Elin Peer’s writing captivates with humor, suspense, mystery, romance, and human nature. Elin’s backdrops/settings are quite unique. Elin doesn’t disappoint!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story; it grabs you from chapter 1 right through to the end. Another beautiful story from Elin Peer. The story is well written, grabs all your emotions and keeps you wanting to know more.
The main characters, – the Charlie’s are so likeable; you are constantly rooting for their relationship. Conor and his cult, on the other hand, gives you the creeps; just reading about him makes your skin walk.
Along with the romance, there is Irish history and the psychological aspects that make this a page-turner.
This book was one of my favorite books I’ve read this year! Elin Peer did an amazing job gathering information needed for the writing of this book. I was so hooked on the book I couldn’t put it down for a second! From beginning to ending I was captivated. I highly recommend this book!
I enjoyed the newest book of Peers. Do I feel it is better than the others though. No. But I think that’s more on my end and not the work of the author.
While I was expecting an a romance dashed with a bit of mystery, the romance aspect seemed to be lacking. I wasn’t a 100% sold on it. While the main characters are likable and flawed (something I love) on their own I was keen on them as a pair. Which was odd as I don’t think that has ever happened.
As I said I was fond of the characters and the details give to Charles I’m particularly. Peer did an incredible job at incorporating it and explains him as a whole person. He was a well round creation. Charlie on the other hand the opposite of Charles well I wish she would have asked more question when set off on her mission.
The start of the book is adorable. It melted my heart so. But I did feel a dip in the pacing towards the middle followed by a bang at the end.
Would I read this again? Yes. Did book 1 intrigue me to read book 2? Most definitely. In fact the secondary characters really stood out to me and I’m hoping the series follows them.
My criteria for a good book is one that makes me laugh and cry. I was giggling by page 9 and hooked by page 27. Crying came later but i was so into the story I forgot to watch for spelling etc. Dont change a thing. Will reread again and again until the next one comes out. Love your books
