A standalone enemies-to-lovers office romance set within the Rydeville Elite world.
Demi
Dropping out of college senior year was never part of my plan. But Dad needs me, and I’d move mountains for the only parent I’ve ever known—even working for the company that fired him.
My boss, Charlie, is determined to make my life a living hell, availing of every opportunity to undermine my confidence, to … my confidence, to humiliate and threaten me.
Sleeping with him the night of his wedding might have something to do with his attitude.
Or the fact I’m the spitting image of the woman he really wants.
If our financial situation wasn’t so dire, I’d tell Charlie to stick his job up his delectable butt.
But I’m trapped, and things are only getting worse. Because the more layers I uncover, the more I realize he is nothing l expected and everything I crave.
Charlie
If there was a manual for all the ways a person could mess up his life, it’d have my name written on it.
I can’t undo the things I’ve done, no matter how badly I want to, and every day is a constant reminder of my epic failure.
Especially her.
It’s as if Demi has been put on this earth to punish me. To inflict more torture and pain. Because every second I’m around her, she makes me feel things I don’t want to feel.
So, I lash out. Doing my best to push her away.
Until I realize she’s everything I never knew I needed, and the fight becomes a new battle—one to win her heart.
Due to mature content and themes, this book is recommended to readers aged eighteen and over. This is a slightly extended version of the version that appeared in the Bully Me anthology containing one extra chapter and two epilogues. It is a 60k word short novel that ends with a HEA and NO cliffhanger.

Unbelievably heartwarming…
Charlie, the fourth book in Siobhan Davis’ Rydeville Elite series is an interconnected standalone. Ms Davis did it again – I don’t even know how she manages this! How she can always deliver unique, heartfelt stories, with enough twists to give you constant whiplashes. If I was asked to describe Charlie in one word, it would absolutely be swoon-worthy. It’s the book where we find out if our boy Charlie is redeemable or not….The way Charlie was pictured in the first three books of the series left serious doubts about his character…
Of all the books I have read so far, this is the one I feel that I can’t talk about the hero without talking about the heroine at the same time. Charlie is into a long journey of self discovery, but not alone. Demi, our sweet, strong girl, is there to challenge and guide him every step of the way. He would never have been able to even start this journey if it wasn’t for her in the first place. The way these two interact and connect is unique. It starts in a totally unexpected way and it is molded through storms, challenges and self admissions. In other words – perfection!
This book is more about the characters than every other book in the series, and I loved it for it. It made me shout, curse (there were times I wanted to throw my kindle onto the wall), laugh, cry and melt…Sometimes simultaneously (yes, with Siobhan Davis’ books this IS possible). And don’t even let me start with that second epilogue! Now I can’t wait for Jackson and Vanessa’s story!
All in all, Charlie is a very emotional, heartfelt book, that will absolutely leave you a puddle on the floor. So, 5 stars from me. My advice – grab it ASAP!

This was a great addition to the Rydeville Series! It was steamy and sexy, and I couldn’t get enough.
Charlie was devastated by his father’s death. Not only that, his mother and sister have moved to another state, and the woman he married was already married to another man. Demi wouldn’t normally sleep with her boss, but at the time she saw a young man in pain…one thing led to another. The man who hired her, and whom she worked for, has died, and his son is now her boss.
Beautifully well written, and compelling characters that are both devastated by person tragedies, and fall in love. Fantastic romantic read with a happily ever after, and surprising twists in the plot that kept me turning the pages. I loved this book!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
I’m a big fan of Siobhan Davis, I am a greater fan of her Rydeville Elite series, they have become one of my top favorite and definitely a must-read and on top favorite for this year. Charlie’s story was phenomenal, I liked him from the series but his book was way more than what I thought so at the beginning making this book one of my favorites in the series. I just love bullies and their redemptions, this story dragged me through the night, I simply couldn’t put it down. I hope this makes it’s wat into the audiobook world to experience the story again. Fantastic more than 5 stars!
Siobhan gave me whiplash with this character. Went from hating him to loving him in this book!!
All the usual emotional twists and turns you expect from Siobhans’s books and characters. Charlie and Demi were made for each other and got there in the end!
Yay!!!! Rydeville Elite continues . I’ve been excitedly awaiting this book since I heard of it. At last we get to see Charlie’s story. After everything that went down in the original trilogy of RYDEVILLE ELITE between he, Abby, Kai and Drew … It’s wonderful to truly get to see what makes him tick and see him redeemed. If course there’s a woman at the heart of this, and my is she worth every page! We pick up momentarily the night Charlie’s dad was murdered in front of him. If you’ve not read the original books in the series it’s not 100% necessary, but personally I recommend doing so. That way you’ll have a much better understanding of all the characters, their relationships and the backstory to what makes everyone tick. Demi is working at Charlie’s company, and had the misfortune of being called in by security to try and help him. The night his dad was murdered (though nobody knows it yet) he ended up in his dad’s office with a bottle of booze and a ton of pain. Demi might just be an assistant, but her friend the security guard was desperate for someone to check on him. Looks like she was it as he figured they were closer in age. What she didn’t know yet was how closely she resembled Abby. Her life would change on a dime that evening. In a fit of pain Charlie used her as an unknowing substitute for Abby….and made her pay for it after. Demi already has the world on her shoulders since her dad’s stroke. He’s her world since her mum died in childbirth. This strong, smart, talented girl is taking care of her dad and trying to keep her head on straight. She just doesn’t know where Charlie fits in all this. We get treated to seeing characters from the original series once more, and how they fit into this new dynamic. Charlie starts coming into his own, and learning some hard truths about his dad and the company. Maybe Demi can finally open his eyes and heart the rest of the way. It’s always fun revisiting with what feels like.old friends. I loved seeing Charlie grow and flourish in this book, and can’t wait for Jackson’s story coming next! I highly recommend this book, and of course the entire Rydeville Elite series!!!
Charlie, book four in Siobhan Davis’ Rydeville Elite series, will keep readers on the edge and undecided until its conclusion!
Charlie existed in that in between space not entirely good, not entirely bad and Siobhan Davis managed to find just the right mix to make him incredibly appealing despite his ambiguity. With a past filled with actions so egregious they seemed impossible to come back from and continued questionable behavior Charlie struggled to regain his place as a person to respect and of value. Demi showed strength in all that she did but Ms. Davis did a great job of offsetting her strength with vulnerability. This couple’s love hate relationship was complex and came with lots of personal baggage making for an interesting dynamic with extreme fluctuations and no shortage of steam. As is the norm with this writer some great discoveries pushed this story and kept the suspense going at a steady pace.
Siobhan Davis is a writer whose name has become interchangeable with unexpected but credible plot twist. Her imaginings are wide sweeping and boundless making her stories not only uninhibited but one of a kind fantastic experiences. With great writing and gripping portrayals that will have readers speculating throughout this work, Charlie adds another Rydeville Elite installment that will keep readers addicted to this series!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While this work can be read as a stand alone, for an enhanced overall reading experience reading the previous books in the Rydeville High Elite Series is suggested*
Charlie is the fourth novel in the ever-addicting Rydeville High Elite series by Siobhan Davis. It can technically be read as standalone but I HIGHLY recommend reading the series so you get to know Charlie more. He is definitely a character you will love and hate. I was so excited when I found out he was getting his own book.
Demi had no idea what she was walking into that night she was called into the office. And when she walked out she hated her new boss. And nine months later, the hate had escalated. She loathed him. She also hated her body for betraying her every time he was near her. She was only his personal assistant because she needed the money to take care of her father.
Charlie didn’t want to feel. He was just fine being on an island of one. He didn’t need anybody. He went to school and he went to work. He didn’t have time for anything else except the occasional one night stand. He especially didn’t have time to think about his assistant. He knew she hated him and that’s the way he wanted it. He built his walls and he wouldn’t let anyone tear them down. He was so fucked…
These two!! The hate. The lust. The looks. They are full of passion, hatred, and fight. And even some swoon! I loved it all. Siobhan grabs my attention from the very beginning until the very end. Every. Single. Time. I love it. I crave it even. It was awesome to get caught up with the Rydeville crew and I can’t wait for the next book! Jackson…you are up next!
P.S. This story was part of the Bully Me anthology that was only out for a short time. The story has been extended.
Quotes:
“Thank you, Bumbling, for finally giving me what I’ve wanted since that night.”
“Whenever you’re ready, your lordship.” He smirks at Xavier.
“I prefer Star Lord,” Xavier quips. “It’s got a nicer ring to it.”
“You’re no Chris Pratt,” Drew says, grinning.
“I never thought I could feel so much from just a kiss,” she admits.

I was hoping our boy Charlie was going to get his own story! He is not innocent by any means. I feel like I now understand Charlie. I found myself questioning a lot of his motives throughout the last 3 books but you finally get a much better understanding of him. He’s made a lot of bad choices and carries a lot of guilt. He’s failed at everything and with Demi the girl he hates but can not stay away from. Demi is a strong character. She is seriously devote to her family. She hates Charlie and his family. So why are they so drawn to each other?
Demi took no shit from Charlie, and threw it right back at him. They have strong chemistry. But you know that Charlie is known for making mistake after mistake. In good Siobahn fashion you get this hot enemies to lovers and I loved the epilogue.
I love the Rydeville Elites! and as always anxiously awaiting the next release!
This was a great addition to the Rydeville Elite series. I went back and forth on how I felt about Charlie in the earlier books, so it was great to get to know him better in this. I feel like I have a better understanding of the reasons behind his past actions. I really loved Demi. She was amazing, and I seriously needed Charlie to prove he was good enough for her and could treat her right. And he fell short a lot. I just wanted to shake some sense into him, but Demi had it handled. It was so much fun having Abby and the other characters return and see where they are at now. This was an emotional roller coaster, and the ending was everything.

I have to admit I wasn’t super excited for the fourth book in this series. Charlie was my least favorite character thus far and I couldn’t imagine what would interest me about a full story devoted to him. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised. Charlie is an excellent read and shockingly I am now on Team Charlie! Thank you Siobhan for changing my mind. An excellent addition to the Rydeville Elite series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Oh my goodness this book was absolutely amazing. I love how Charlie and Demi found their love by constantly bickering with each. They have the light the place on fire chemistry. That’s what hooks us. I’m loving how all the characters from another books are showing up in these ones. Now that I’ve read this one, I’m hoping that we get Jackson sooner then we hope. Thank you Siobhan for another get one. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
After finishing the Rydeville Elite series, Charlie was still a complicated and tortured soul that never had a chance to explain his actions. This book is his voice to redemption. Demi is a balance to Charlie’s life. She brings much needed sassiness into his world. The story allows an additional glimpse into the lives of the other Rydeville Elite after the events of Sweet Retribution. I highly recommend reading Charlie and his path to forgiving himself of the consequences of his actions. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I am so glad that “Charlie”, was put out before other characters in the series. I ended up hating him by the end of book 3, of the Rydeville Elite series.
Leave it to Siobhan Davis, to redeem himself. I love the “New” Charlie.

Charlie Charlie Charlie! This book has shocked me!! I went into really hating him after reading the other books but now I think he’s my favorite…y’all you need to read this!!!
Wow what a ride that was Charlie is just a rich man with crap communication skills and a chip on his shoulder ……but is he really well Demi the PA that has him all in a pickle and feeling things he didn’t think he was actual capable off ….He is a gorgeous, hot, sexy , drool worthy man with so much pent up sexual tension , and Demi a beautiful woman , who feels the sexual tension and chemistry between them … but will they give in to the chemistry or will Demi keep her distance from the obnoxious, annoying, rude , arrogant man that she dislikes or does she ……well you will just have to read the awesome book find out yourself all I can say is it’s steamy , sexual tensions flying of the page , love anger frustration tears laughter friendship, shocks and turns you will not see coming …..it’s wrote with so much passion and love it’s an amazing read and I can’t wait for the next one love it
I swear Siobhan Davis can make any character redeemable if she wants to, and that’s just what she did with Charlie.
Charlie is trying everyday to make up for mistakes he made in the past. However, there is one mistake, that slaps him in the face every day, Demi. Try as he might, he can’t get her out of his head, nor can she get Charlie out of hers. After all, Demi works for Charlie so the two come face to face every day at work. Charlie is determined to make Demi’s life hard, and she’s determined to stick around, she needs the money. Opposites have a way of attracting, and there comes a point when fighting that attraction comes to an end, but with all that Charlie has done, can he and Demi ever be an actual couple?
Absolutely loved this book, and it was a great addition to the Rydeville series. I’m a reader who wants a book about everybody when it comes to reading series, so even though I couldn’t stand Charlie in the first three books, I needed to know more about him. And let me tell you, Siobhan Davis 100% delivered. This story was one that I couldn’t put down. I needed to know what was going to happen for Charlie as well as for Demi, and I loved getting to catch up with the previous characters. This is a book that you don’t want to miss!
Charlie was one of those characters that, in the first three books, kind of went back and forth in my opinions of him. The first half of this book had me still on the fence, but it’s surprising what finding the right girl can do for a guy… and vise versa. I honestly believe that finding the person who is the right match for you can turn you into the best version of yourself and that’s what this story truly showed for Charlie.
I like the way that Charlie’s character shows such growth throughout the book as he realizes what makes him happy and how he wants to live the rest of his life. I also like that he feels so compelled to make things right if he even feels the slightest bit responsible.
The other characters do make appearances in this book, though Charlie is obviously the main character. There is a definite set up for further books within this world, but not quite the cliffhanger that most of these books end on. I’m waiting as patiently as I can for the rest of the series.
*I was blessed with an advanced copy of this book which I voluntarily reviewed.*
I have been waiting for Charlie to get his HEA. I had a love hate relationship with him in the first two books. I’d love him and then I’d hate him. I thought Demi was a good fit for him. It would be a Siobhan book without a wrench or two thrown into the mix. I think she did a great job with Charlie and Demi’s story. I only gave it four stars because I felt a little off with the end. I just wasn’t expecting it to end when it did and there were questions I had after. I surprisingly wouldn’t say it was a cliff hanger but hopefully the questions will be answered in other couples books. But all in all I loved the book.

Ok, so in the Rydeville Elite series, I liked Charlie at first, then as the series ended, I didn’t like him so much. His behaviour confused me: if he was a good guy, why was he acting this way? Then he starts off as as such an ass in this book: really mean and demeaning. What’s worse is that Demi was so sweet and undeserving of his wrath. But I had faith in Siobhan Davis and she pulled through! I did a complete 180 on him and was swooning by the end! Demi just radiated goodness and strength all wrapped up in a lovely selfless package that had me falling for her too. I loved all the cameos and seeing glimpses of what’s to come in the next books. I’m so glad Charlie got his story! If you’re looking to see a guy transform from bully to prince charming, Charlie’s your man!
