A standalone enemies-to-lovers office romance set within the Rydeville Elite world.
Demi
Dropping out of college senior year was never part of my plan. But Dad needs me, and I’d move mountains for the only parent I’ve ever known—even working for the company that fired him.
My boss, Charlie, is determined to make my life a living hell, availing of every opportunity to undermine my confidence, to … my confidence, to humiliate and threaten me.
Sleeping with him the night of his wedding might have something to do with his attitude.
Or the fact I’m the spitting image of the woman he really wants.
If our financial situation wasn’t so dire, I’d tell Charlie to stick his job up his delectable butt.
But I’m trapped, and things are only getting worse. Because the more layers I uncover, the more I realize he is nothing l expected and everything I crave.
Charlie
If there was a manual for all the ways a person could mess up his life, it’d have my name written on it.
I can’t undo the things I’ve done, no matter how badly I want to, and every day is a constant reminder of my epic failure.
Especially her.
It’s as if Demi has been put on this earth to punish me. To inflict more torture and pain. Because every second I’m around her, she makes me feel things I don’t want to feel.
So, I lash out. Doing my best to push her away.
Until I realize she’s everything I never knew I needed, and the fight becomes a new battle—one to win her heart.
Due to mature content and themes, this book is recommended to readers aged eighteen and over. This is a slightly extended version of the version that appeared in the Bully Me anthology containing one extra chapter and two epilogues. It is a 60k word short novel that ends with a HEA and NO cliffhanger.

I’ve read a lot of books written by Siobhan Davis; she has written another excellent book. She is one of my favorite authors.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book. The story continues from the Rydeville High Elite Series and keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.
I received a free Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow. Another ripper from this unbelievable author. Demi works for Charlie’s father, Charles Barron. Not because she wants to, but because she needs the job to pay for her father’s medical bills. Then Charles Barron dies and Charlie will now be her boss. After a night of passion when Charlie is out of his mind with grief, he turns against her. Hate. A doppelganger. Abby. The elite. A very ill father. A death. And an all-consuming love that will not be denied. Absolutely fantastic.
Charlie has lost everything and on the night his father dies he just wants to pretend life is different. But the woman he asks to help him pretend with doesn’t take it well when she realizes what he’s done and what (whom) he was thinking about while he was with her. So Demi with her proud self takes off and kindly requests he leave her alone.
Hard to do when he is her new boss and he’s determined to be as massive an asshole as possible to her. But Demi doesn’t take his shit lying down *wink wink* and dishes it right back. But somehow the two keep falling into each other’s beds until lines aren’t just crossed, they’re obliterated. Will he break her heart again or will he take his head out of his ass and be the good guy he is deep down somewhere he doesn’t let people see?
As usual with Siobhan Davis’ writing, the story here is riveting. Not many can write enemies to lovers/bully romances that are bullying and mean without going over the top, but she pulls it off. Charlie was certainly a bully, the two were so antagonistic, but it was also obvious it was all just hiding chemistry and feelings, and I love how Demi gave as good as she got and didn’t take Charlie’s bullshit without dishing her own in return. I may have wished she didn’t give in so quickly near the end, though, and it’s the only reason for 4 rather than the 5 stars the first 3/4 deserve. But all in all, I loved this extension of the Rydeville Elite series. Can’t wait for Jackson next!
ARC Review
A sweet, intriguing and steaming romance to entice us right down to the core.
‘Charlie’ by Siobhan Davis is book number 4 in the ‘Rydeville Elite’ series and it’s everything I expected as a continuation of the previous books.
Honestly, I can say I have had mixed feelings on Charlie Barron from what I’ve read previously, but this book just brings a whole new angle to the story.
This is an angsty, enemies-to-lovers that will have you swooning one second and throwing your kindle out of the window the next.
It is full of harsh truths and set in the aftermath of the Elite war so it all feels uncertain and yet intriguing.
This book will feed your curiosity on the Rydeville world while still leaving you hungry enough to come back for more, time and time again.
We met Charlie in the first book and if you are like me, you started the book loving him but finished it hating him. Well, this book is no different, other than it’s the other way around, you hate him and then you love him.
He is a complicated and troubled boy who has the weight of the world on his shoulders, he is still dealing with the aftermath of his actions and has to live with his mistakes every day of his life.
Charlie is a sweet sweet boy who, in order to survive and protect himself, has to act as a grade-A a**hole and be as mean as he can be to keep everyone outside of his walls.
He will have to learn to give himself space to make mistakes because in the end, he is only human. He will need to find himself amidst all this pain. He will need to learn that being vulnerable is not a weakness if you know who to be vulnerable with, and he will need to learn to let others love him.
Demi is a determined woman who has been dealt the wrong hands over and over again in her life. She has had to drop out of college and leave her life and dreams behind in order to take care of the most important person to her.
She will go through huge changes throughout her life and will need to accept and adapt to them time and time again.
She is fierce and sassy, like thunder and lightning stuck inside a bottle has been placed inside her. She doesn’t let anyone walk over her, especially entitled a**holes. She is strong and brave and beautiful both inside and out.
Their relationship is strained from the start. Their first meeting didn’t go well, and set off a series of events that just multiplied until it all finally exploded in an explosion of angst, anger, fear and of course lust.
They will need to learn how to get to know each other, how to put fears aside, how to open up and how to be truthful and sincere; because being together hurts less than being apart.
Not only do we follow an incredible couple in their journey to let go of fear and go face-to-face with love, but we also get an insight on what’s happening to the other characters we know and love, and what’s yet to come!
This is a fast-paced, could-be-read-in-one-sitting kind of book. One that will have you burning up and checking no one is around to witness it, it will blow your mind with all the I-can’t-believe-it scenes, the ones that make you laugh, cry and make you angry and annoyed all at the same time.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Okay, so first of all, can we just talk about how hot the model is on this cover? I don’t normally do this at all! (Not that I’m judging those that do.) But usually, I really don’t care about the cover at all, but wowza- there is something magnetic about this guy in that pose!
Okay, so moving on. I have been anxiously awaiting Charlie. His character arc in the three Rydeville High series has been SO interesting. I mean he went from being a hot enigma, to kind of an ally, to an asshole that I absolutely hated.
When I found out Siobhan was giving him his own book I thought, all right, how is she going to redeem him? I mean the thing is, I’ve been reading her books long enough, that I knew she would redeem him, but I thought she definitely had her hands full.
Of course, she did it again. She redeemed him, and it was all something that just completely fell in to place. I really loved this book. It was very hard for me to put it down. I don’t get a lot of reading time, but I always carve time out for Siobhan’s books. She is hands down my favorite author. Well this book started to cause me a lot of problems, because I was staying up too late because I wanted to read “just one more chapter” and then I couldn’t get to a good stopping point.
I just loved this book. I can’t wait for Jackson’s story now! I enjoyed that there were two epilogues in this book.
I highly recommend this book to any Siobhan Davis fans, particularly if they read and liked her Rydeville High Series. I received a complimentary ARC of this book. I am reviewing it voluntarily, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. I was not compensated in any way for this review.
We all wanted Charlie to have a chance at redemption and this book does it perfectly. The connection between Demi and Charlie is heart breakingly beautiful. There were tears along the way, but it was all worth it in the end.
Life with Charlie Barron resembles being on a malfunctioning roller coaster. The ups and downs are extreme and you never know when the whole thing is going to fly off the rails. Growing up the son of an elite, Charlie was prepared for a life of power, debauchery and crime. The Elite are the privileged class and there is no limit to their influence. Abby and Charlie were forced into marriage by their fathers, but Abby was in love with Kaden Anderson. Just as the I do’s are said, Charlie’s father is murdered and he feels responsible. Totally devastated, he goes in search of comfort in the bottom of a bottle, but he also finds it with his PA, Demi Alexander. That’s one mistake that is never going to happen again or even be discussed. Charlie can’t get her out of his head, though, and Demi feels the same about him. She’s a strong woman, able to keep Charlie from walking all over her and he appreciates her fire. Watching them fall for each other is a bittersweet and satisfying journey.
Charlie is book 4 of the Rydeville Elite series.
It is hands down one of my favorite book series ever.
The characters, the writing and the entire plot is amazing, dark and twisted just like it should be. If you’ve read those books then you most likely already feel a certain way about Charlie. I always WANTED to like Charlie…well to me he was always a misunderstood villainous wannabe hero. One that I might have hated 75% and didn’t trust him EVER. Siobhan is showing us the side of Charlie that we never got a glimpse of in the first 3 Rydeville Elite books. It was so easy for us to hate him because of the choices he makes but now we get insight into those choices and his thoughts. I always have HUGE respect for an author who can take a character and cause you to have such strong feelings toward then is able to alter those feelings.
“I’ve never wanted to be anyone’s Prince Charming before, but I want to be yours.”
-Charlie
We can all admit we’ve never viewed Charlie as Prince Charming! However, once you read HIS story and meet his heroine you’ll see what a huge difference seeing Charlie through Demi’s eyes makes. We’ve seen him through Abby & Kaiden’s but never someone else that’s not part of that inner circle of Charlie’s and I think that makes all the difference! So seeing Demi’s POV both at the beginning and the end…and all the torturous moments in between is what makes this one so great! Every villain needs his own heroine.
Getting to read Charlie’s book was AMAZING!!
I needed it and now I can’t wait for more from this world!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
A wicked read!
Until he realises she’s everything he never knew he needed, and the fight becomes a new battle—one to win her heart…
Oh my word! Another phenomenal read with a wonderful heroine and complex, tortured hero. These two together are one explosive firework that complement each other. Fantastic! Man, I really wished it was longer.
Brilliantly written and I loved getting a glimpse of the other characters. Oh! My favourite characters was the heroine’s father. And, of course, when that happened, I was emotional AF. Now, I’m going to nurse my book hangover so goodbye world.

I have been waiting for Charlie’s story for months, and really enjoyed getting a look inside his head.
Demi drops out of college to get a job back home because her dad needs her. The only problem is, her new boss is Charlie who is determined to make her life a living hell. Sleeping with him on the night of his wedding might have something to do with his attitude.
Charlie can’t undo the things he’s done. And every day is a reminder of his failures. Especially her. It’s as if Demi was put on this Earth to torture him. Because Everytime he’s around her- she makes him feel things he doesn’t want to feel. So he lashes out and pushes her away.
Until Charlie realizes that Demi is everything he never knew that he needed, then the battle becomes one to win over her heart.
I have wanted to get into Charlie’s head since he first appeared in the Rydeville series. And this book was more than I bargained for! Grab your favorite boy you love to hate today! 5 hellish out of 5.
Charlie was a character I wasn’t sure I could read about. His past was still sitting in the for front of my mind and I had a hard time forgiving him. The story was good and a little creepy with Demi but how else would he move on. I appreciate his side and was able to understand what I couldn’t before but I’m still not 100% team Charlie. Siobhan wrote his character so good that the anger is still real.
If your looking for an intense story you can not put down please read books 1-3 then book 4 will explain my review! I hope I’m not the only one to feel this way! lol

Charlie was an amazing story Siobhan has a way of writing that grabs your emotions like no other. From the very beginning this story had my attention and dying to find out what happens next. From the Rydeville Elite Series I wasn’t sure about Charlie being redeemable but Siobhan knows how to write an amazing story with damaged characters and happy endings. This was a definite page-turner. From the minute Demi met Charlie I knew we would be in for a crazy ride the chemistry between these two characters was crazy hot. And I just love that Demi was not the sit down and take it kind of girl she gave as good as she took. I also love the fact that we get to see Charlie’s point of view and getting into his head really makes liking his character easier. We get to see some of the old characters from the first three books which is great because I loved them. This book definitely had me and my feelings all over the place and I can’t wait to see what else comes from Siobhan
How does Siobhan Davis make me fall for a guy like Charlie. All I can say is she really did and after I closed his story I was like WOW anyone can be redeemed to the point that he might now just be my new favorite.
Demi is a character that even when she’s down never count her out. She shows how strong she can be when needed and she did everything to take care of her father to the point of her own happiness.
Charlie & Demi will go through so many ups and downs, a lot of emotional moments but you can’t help cheer on two people that truly deserve to find happiness.
I loved Charlie and Demi. We also get all of other characters. I love that we get insight on them. This book starts with Charlie devastated by his father’s death. Demi’s father has some health issues so she is back home to take care of him. Of course, Charlie starts bullying her and being an all around douche. But the more he knows about her the more he wants her. I loved this book especially the second epilogue…
Charlie by Siobhan Davis was all and more to me. I didnt expect the story to turn the way it did but at the same time Siobhan bas the effect everytime I read one of her books
I just adore Siobhan Davis—I think she’s brilliant—and I loved the Rydeville Elite series. So I was eagerly anticipating Charlie’s book. I knew there was so much more to his character. This book has been expanded somewhat from the anthology version, but it still felt somewhat rushed to me, and I honestly never felt a genuine connection between Charlie and Demi like I did with Kai and Abby. But Siobhan dropped some hints at what’s to come for the Rydeville gang and for Jackson—and I just can’t wait for it!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Siobhan Davis continues to knock them put pf the park and Charlie is no exception. Charlie answer a big question I had during the Rydeville series where he was concerned and not only that but his story was so eloquently written that it didn’t need a whole buch of drama to make it great and amazing. I loved seeing Abby and Kaiden and all the other characters back again. My favorite part was when Charlie punched someone but I’m not going to say who put I definitely laughed out loud. We get to see a whole different side to Charlie and I’m completely in love with it. I can’t wait for the continuation of the side series and to see what happens. I loved the Rydeville Series and Charlie is no different. If you enjoyed Abby and Kaiden’s story you are going to love Charlie. There are some great wow factors and surprises in store.
5 CHARLIE STARS!! Charlie is my favorite guy and book in the Rydeville Elite series. Charlie and Demi had one heck of a sexy crazy ride and I loved every minute of it. There is feels, angst, sexiness and mystery to keep you turning pages. Siobhan Davis is a 1-Click author for me and should be for you too.
Siobhan has done it yet again….Charlie has outcast himself from the old and the new elite and is trying to take over his father’s company. Demi just wants to take care of her father, make ends meet, until she finally meets the infamous Charles Barron the third. A love hate relationship that turns to something more even though they deny it.
Sweet, sexy and steamy. I loved Charlie!
Charlie is the 4th book in the ‘Rydeville Elite’ series, it can be read as a standalone, but I would definitely recommend the trilogy before this.
Due to reading the previous books, I had to go back a little to remember who Charlie was, then I remembered how hurt I felt for him and was glad we was getting a HEA. Although, you won’t think that early on in the book.
Demi though, I loved her. She was strong, brave, held her head high but I loved her love for her dad, giving up her life to look after him.
The books starts as with Charlie and Demi being enemies, Charlie is Demi’s boss and doesn’t make things easy for her. Until Charlie can’t keep his need for her in check and he just has to have her. They discover they both have feelings for each other and pursue a relationship although coming from completely opposite backgrounds.
Fans of the series will love the appearance of their favourite characters and catching up with them with a few twists thrown in.
I absolutely adore Siobhans’s writing, she has that ability to pull you right in and she certainly does this with Charlie and Demi’s story. It’s a short read that you will devour in a few hours. Charlie is here to own your heart and I swooned so bad over him and makes me excited for the other books in the series that have still to come.
I know we’re getting the other guys stories but I loved Xena and I’d take a short story with her relationship .
ARC received for an honest review – thank you
