please note: this was originally the final book, but has since split into two full novels making High School Clowns & Coffee Grounds a four-book series. Fellas & Frappes (book 4) will release 4-6 weeks after Chaps & Cappuccinos releases with the novella Getting Lei’d & Iced Lemonade a week or so afterEmma’s to-do list:1- deal with my overbearing mom2- learn self-defense3- rock … mom
2- learn self-defense
3- rock senior year with my boys
Moving cross country a month into my senior year was turning out to not be so bad despite all my initial dramatics. Even after all the stuff that had gone down since arriving, I was grateful for my awesome friends, great part-time gig at the coffee shop, and let’s not forget my three boyfriends.
But as the school year goes on, more trouble builds up. Our issues with the assistant principal grow more frequent, my mother’s secrets finally come tumbling out, and one fateful night lands me in a world of hurt. Will we be able to deal with all the stress, or will we end up in over our heads?
We can totally handle everything being thrown at us and make it to graduation, right? #AGirlCanDream #GoodbyeStressFreeSaturdays #WishUsLuck
Book 3 of the High School Clowns & Coffee Grounds Series
The High School Clowns & Coffee Grounds Series is a four-book WhyChoose/Reverse Harem series featuring MFMM meaning the female main character doesn’t have to choose between her love interests.
This book contains references involving PTSD, sexual assault recollections, abuse, underage drinking, violence, and other themes that some readers may find triggering.

This was sweet but with more angst than the last two. Kaleb’s dad was really an awesome side character in this one. Looking forward to the next one.

A.J Macey has done a wonderful job continuing the story of Emma and her group of guys, their friends, families, and all the highs and lows of the last few months of high school. From Valentine’s Day to Prom, coffee dates, and plenty of cuddles, this book has everything you could ask for. Romance? Yep. Shenanigans? Definitely. Struggles with family and bullies? That too. Action? It’s even got that! With boat shoe bully Brad still lurking in the pages, I can’t wait to see what is next around the corner for Emma and the boys who love her (besides graduation!)
Theres a sweetness about this series especially with the loving, caring, respectful relationship between Emma, Reid, Kingston and Jesse. In the same breath though theres an undercurrent of darkness that threatens their relationship. Its hinted at throughout and its not until the end of the book that you get a taste of whats to come. Book 3 felt like it had grown up more so from the first 2 books. Emma is becoming a stronger character and i loved that she is. I think some of it springs from the guys backing her but also from confronting her own demons and gaining some independence. I had little time for her mother and her idiot of a principle. My goodness is this series good. Im totally loving it
Chaps & Cappuccinos gives you all the love and sweetness we’ve come to love from Emma and her guys. I love how Macey always gives us the good of these people with a dash of drama throughout. I’m hooked on these characters! I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book!
I love this series. I really and truly do. Emma and the boys are just so much fun and squishy cute together, that it makes me so happy every time there’s a new installment. The characters are so well developed and have such interesting storylines that it makes it easy to get sucked into their world for a few hours and fly through the story.
AJ also has a knack for weaving in delicate subject matter without exploiting it. These characters go through some shit, and so seeing them cope, and support each other, and just handle everything thrown at them is inspiring and adds a layer of depth you don’t always find in romance novels.
I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I squealed, this book was delightful and it definitely left me wanting more. Can’t wait for the final installment of this series so we can see these four off to college (wink wink). Another great story from A.J. Macey.
Love love love this series!! Emma and her boys continue their story in book 3 of 4 navigating their new relationship, drama from the trial, disapproving parents and more! Loved the twists – no spoilers here but omg that cliffhanger. This is a well written series with a realistic handling of a modern day RH. While set in high school, does not have that typical high school drama cheesy cringeworthy feeling from most books. Well done AJ!!
Chaps and Cappuccinos is a bit like the silence right before a storm hits. The author puts all the pieces in place for the final book of this series and I am looking forward to see how everything will unfold.
You can’t go wrong picking a book wrote by AJ! I love that in this book, Emma really shows how strong she is. The things that are thrown her way and how she deals with it, is inspiring. She doesn’t have the support of her mom which is tough, but her guys are really great and show her how much she means to them. I really didn’t want this book to end, it was so good.
The 3rd in the series is a little more serious than the previous 2 outings but Emma has a lot on her plate. The trial against Brad is coming up, the assistant principal needs fired and her mom disagrees with all of Emma’s decisions. Much more steam this time with King proving he’s also king sized lol. I’ve got a few theories about what that epilogue means
Wow!!
Just when you think Emma and the guys will get a break, more scary drama gets thrown there way!!
Man, my girl Emma can not catch a break! Between her ridiculous mom, an equally ridiculous vice principal, another upcoming trial, and the stresses of high school, Emma is just trying not to have a breakdown.
With the help of her guys she stays sane and mostly happy even though the world seems determined to ruin that happiness.
But it isn’t all bad, Emma and her guys fall even more in love and get some pleasant surprises in this book. We meet a new man who becomes a big part of Emma and her mom’s life and we get to see that love and happiness between her and the guys with a beautiful prom.
I can not wait to see where AJ takes these characters next! Who is following Emma? What’s going to happen to boat shoes Brad? And who is this mystery Uncle that is “handling” Emma? Hopefully we get some answers in the next book!!
Another amazing book by AJ. Totally worth the wait expect now I want to find and get the next book lol because it was just soo amazing. The twists and turns and the little hints that’s being dropped. I need the next book. I absolutely love the characters and Stella and Kaleb are awesome parents. Her mom tho ugh I want to strangle.
Emma’s journey in Nebraska continues on. So much has happened in the mere months of her living there. Her relationship with her mother is steadily deteriorating, but she’s gaining stronger ties with others in her life. She and the boys are learning to open up even more to one another and are planning for the future that they see together, no matter how little support they get from certain people around them. The mess with boat shoe Brad is sadly not over, and a new character is introduced- but who are they, and why do they have such a problem with Emma?
Overall I liked this story! The romance aspect is pretty slow burning but I love how the friendship foundation is the biggest aspect in the relationship(s)! Lyla is the best friend that I wish I had in my life- she’s one of my favorite characters ever!
I just finished reading the book and I’m sad…. Sad the next book isn’t available yet!!!I absolutely love Emma and her boys! This book was a bit more in depth of the pasts of the characters and with more steamy scenes I enjoyed the subtle suspense in chapters and found it incredibly hard to put the book down. I’m looking forward to the next books to see where the future leads Emma, Reid, Kingston, and Jesse.
Wow. I love this series! I am amazed by Emma’s strength and resilience, and her love for her men is heartwarming. I love how the individual relationships with the guys are developing as well. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
This book was fantastic, from the quirky hashtags to the ominous ending. Well written and captivating this book just adds to a wonderful series.
Emma has ups and downs in this book but with her guys beside her and the support of her friends and family, she powers through the obstacles in her way.
I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
It is so amazing to watch Emma and her guys grow. The dynamics in this book was spot on! I was able to relate to quite a bit of it and certain parts of the book gave me the FEELS! There were ups and downs with Emma’s emotional status and MY GOD… I LOVED IT. But of course, Macey left us on a cliffhanger that threatens our sanity! I have so many questions and am absolutely excited for the next book! AMAZING read and AMAZING author! Chaps & Cappuccinos (High School Clowns & Coffee Grounds Book 3)
Another awesome book in the series. I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait until this series is complete so I can do a reread from start to finish. I don’t think I will ever get enough of these characters. Things start heating up with Emma and her guys. I can’t wait for the next book.
Wow, AJ Macey did not disappoint. I don’t know how she creates so many worlds and characters but she amaze-balls. Emma and the boys are back things pick up where the last one left. Make sure to read in order. There’s some drama, suspense and steamy sexy times. Can’t wait for more.
