Can Tennant show Jared that age is just a number, and that love is all that matters?
The Rowe Brothers are famous hockey hotshots, but as the youngest of the trio, Tennant has always had to play against his brothers’ reputations. To get out of their shadows, and against their advice, he accepts a trade to the Harrisburg Railers, where he runs into Jared Madsen. Mads is an old family friend and … an old family friend and his brother’s one-time teammate. Mads is Tennant’s new coach. And Mads is the sexiest thing he’s ever laid eyes on.
Jared Madsen’s hockey career was cut short by a fault in his heart, but coaching keeps him close to the game. When Ten is traded to the team, his carefully organized world is thrown into chaos. Nine years his junior and his best friend’s brother, he knows Ten is strictly off-limits, but as soon as he sees Ten’s moves, on and off the ice, he knows that his heart could get him into trouble again.

This is a well written , fun and entertaining hockey romance. The characters are strong , likable and well developed. The author does a great job pulling you in and describing the scenes vividly. I had some laugh out loud moments and enjoyed reading this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Tens hockey forward, in the closet, just traded to a new team, through Railers.
Mads hockey defensive coach for the Railers, big man with a 17 year old son,who was born when he was 15. Friend of Tens older brother and family.
These two are attracted to each other, Though Mads does not know Tens is gay. He is not sure what to do with these feelings he is 10 years older and a coach on the team. Ten says not my coach and keeps trying. Mads finally agrees the can see each other but have to move slowly.
Take this trip with them to find out how it goes.

This series is truly one of the best!! Hockey and love. Can’t get any better than that
I’ve never been a hockey fan but books like this one have changed my mind. The characters are hot, the storyline is steamy and full of emotion, and the dialogue is natural.
I was hooked from the start!!! Tennant is traded to the Railers where his brothers’ oldest/best friend is a Defensive Coach. Luckily Ten is a forward and Mads isn’t technically HIS coach. Still a bit of the forbidden romance in there. Ten is gay but not out but Mad’s is Bi and out. We get introduced to all the Railers and Mad’s ex-wife and a 17 year old son and his A-hole ex-father-in-law. I absolutely LOVED the Pokemon team bonding!! This has some steamy scenes!
I binged the entire series!!
Don’t let the fact that this series revolves around a hockey team put you off. Even if you know nothing about hockey these are great characters and the authors are making great use of tropes in the plots. Here we have their take on the age gap, best friend’s younger brother and coach/player tropes and they are blended perfectly. Tennant and Jared have great chemistry from the start and I was drawn into their story immediately. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
This is not my first time reading this. With these two authors and hockey you can’t go wrong. I’m very selective about which sports romances I read. But if it has one or both of these writers attached to it you can bet it’s one I’m going to read. I don’t know what happened to my previous review. Luckily I think I’ve gotten a little better at writing them since then lol. This is the start of the series and we are learning about the team as we get Mads and Ten’s story. We get a good feel of Ten right from the start. Imagine being the youngest of three brothers who are all pro hockey players. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Then there is Mads. Older snd had been friends with the oldest brother and knew the family well even though it had been years. Also, he has a teenage son. Don’t even get me started on his ex’s father. Personally I want more Stan. In my opinion goalies have to be brave and pretty darn tough. Not only do they have those hard pucks flying at them pretty fast, they also have a bunch of big men heading in their direction. Now think about that and picture the blades they all have on their feet. Like I said brave and tough. This was funny, heartwarming, and steamy.
I really liked this story, and I especially love hockey romances. Ten and Mads were the perfect, unique combination! Tennant is traded to the Harrisburg Railers Hockey team. There he reconnects with Mads, who was best friends with Tennant’s older brother. These two have serious chemistry, steamy. I’m voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received.
This book turned out to be way sweeter than I thought it would be. I love this trope, brother’s best friend/best friend’s brother and this one was very sweet. First let’s talk about how great Mads is, like he is a wonderful coach, father, and boyfriend and really grounds Ten!! Also, just real quick, these names are bomb!! Then you have Ten, who may be a bit impulsive, but loves very big. I loved the piano aspect as well, and his family was just great. There was no real angst between these two, just the coming out story that you love to see/read. I felt it was great and realistic. I also adored Ryker, I hope that he eventually gets his own book. I do with the ending was a bit longer, as it kinda just ended, but I know the series continues and I am sure they will be huge part of it.
ARC provided and this is my honest review.

Tennison (Ten), youngest of 3 hockey playing brothers gets transferred to the Harrisburg Railers
Jared Madsen (Mads) is best friend to Tens older brother and also one of Tens new coaches.
I loved watching the slow burn of their relationship grow. There was the question and worry of Tens coming out to his family, the club and the public.
I did get a bit lost in the hockey talk.. but I did enjoy the pace and actions of the games.
A great sports romance, featuring an age gap, family drama and sexy hockey men. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more of this series.
I really liked this book. So many emotions. This was great It had hockey, hot hockey players and so much love. I loved this
Ten has much to come to terms with and being honest about who he is and who he loves. There are a lot of moments of revelation both planned and unplanned and you get to see how each group/person responds . It gives you picture who they truly are and their worth to this new couple. This is a great romance and great world building for the series.
Being in your brothers shadow and the youngest of three to play hockey the deck is stacked against you. But to add another dimension try coming out as a gay man. This is the exact storyline for Ten. And by the way, his lover is his oldest brothers good friend. You have to read it to believe it. Once again RJ Scott creates wonderful characters that are lovable and true while also keeping the reader attached to the story from beginning to end. I cannot wait to read more in the series.
Love this book and love this whole series. Go Railers!
Ten short for Tennant is the youngest Rowe brother that plays hockey. Mads short for Madison , is one of the coaches for the hockey team that Ten was traded to. Mads has a 17 years old son that also plays hockey. Ten has a crush on Mads, Will they come together or will they stay away from each other?

I enjoyed this collaboration by R.J. Scott and V.L. Locey. The chracters are great, there are some really funny lines, supportive family members, and plenty of steamy, sexy times. The story includes taboo themes of younger man/older man and player/coach romance. I am looking forward to see what’s next in the series.

Ten has lived in his older brothers’ hockey shadows for far too long. Now that he’s been traded to a different team, he’s hoping he can get out from their reach and shine on his own. He’s also gay, but has yet to come out to anyone but himself. And then he finds out who his new defensive coach is – his older brother’s former best friend, a man 9 years his senior, and a guy he’s always had a crush on. Oh boy…
The first thing I’ll say about Changing Lines is that there is A LOT of hockey in this sports romance, too much for my tastes. Don’t get me wrong, I expect sports romances to have sports in them, but when the sports time overtakes the relationship time, then I’m not happy, and that’s what happened here. I would have preferred a little less hockey and a lot more relationship development. And that’s the second thing I’ll mention, there is little to no relationship and character development here. What little there is is off page, as in one second they’re at one point in the relationship, the next second we’re being told they’ve moved to a different part, all without any detail.
I did end up liking both Ten and Mads, but I didn’t feel a connection to them, or between them, aside from the physical. Probably because all the relationship development is off page. However, I can see the potential in the writing, and because the characters are likable and the steamy times are sexy, 3 stars seems fair.
The Rowe brothers all seem to play hockey an Tennants the youngest of them all wants to step out of his brothers shadow moves to a different team, which Jared just so happens to be the coach of. Jared is an old family friend and used to play with Tennants brothers, until a heart condition takes him out the game for good. Jared is older than Tennant by nine years, however Tennant finds him extremely attractive anyway. Regardless of age Tennant wants Jared anyway and sets out to prove age is just a number. The fact that Ten was 22 and Jared’s son was 15 made the relationship between Jared and Ten weird not to mention if Ten is 22 that would make Jared 31 meaning he was about 16 when he became a father. I found this book hard to get into when thinking logically about the age difference between the characters. This book wasn’t for me.

I know almost nothing about hockey (unless you count having seen the Mighty Ducks movies), but even with the references to game/positions I wasn’t lost. Tennent and Mads had a great connection. There was a good bit of tension between Ten and Mads, but not so much angst to drag down the story. Ryker, Mads’ son, was a nice addition to the story, he had depth of character without being distracting from the romance between Mads and Ten. I loved Ten’s family, especially his mother.
I’m still not sure if I find the Pokemon references more amusing or ridiculous (and this is coming from someone who routinely plays Pokemon). At times it was a good chuckle, but at others it just seemed over-the-top for the story.
I do wish the ending was a little bit more, because I felt like this needed a bit more to finish it off. As there are teammates stories to be told, I guess we’ll get to see more of Ten and Mads in other books. I’m looking forward to reading some of the other stories in this series, especially Stan’s story. I can’t wait for the goalie to get his HEA.

I liked the premise. I love a good hockey story and I love hearing about the team dynamics and fun, behind the scenes type banter. There really wasn’t any of this. The theme focused on the two MC’s, Tennant and Mads, one of the coaches. Most of their relationship happened behind the scenes, which was unfortunate. It felt like the only real story I got as a reader was the coming out stories between various groupings throughout the book.
I had wished there was more info about the characters, or some kind of reveal about the friendship between Mads and Ten’s brother. Or any of the players on the team. It was just all backdrop and at the end I found myself wondering what I’d just read.
