Nothing worth having comes easy.Rainier Hart knows all about hiding. He’s ready to burst out of the closet, consequences be damned. His first escape attempt failed, but he’s not done fighting. Back in his hometown, all he has are a few worthless buildings and a job on a construction crew. What he needs is a firm hand to guide him—and a family that doesn’t look down their noses at him.Colt Fuller … him.
Colt Fuller is everything Rain isn’t… or is he? Rich, muscular, commanding, and very much out of place in Hart’s Bay, he wants more than Rain’s run-down warehouses. He wants the surprisingly defiant little twink who owns them, too. The pull between them is too strong to ignore, even with everything that’s on the line.
Rain and Colt are perfectly matched: right down to the secrets they’d each prefer to keep buried. Those secrets threaten the very foundations they begin to build a life together on.
Because nothing stays secret in Hart’s Bay, including how they really feel about each other. Can they see past the bluster and into each other’s hearts?
Changed Hart is the second book in the new Hart’s Bay series about a small town full of nosy but well-meaning neighbors and brotherly banter. It can be enjoyed on its own, and promises a happily-ever-after ending and plenty of smiles and steam along the way. Plus, because it’s Rain, more sass than anyone expected. The third Hart’s Bay novel will be released in October 2019.

Not the pairing I thought but oh, so good!!!
From the end of the last Hart’s Bay Novel, I thought Rain would be with his friend and co-worker but Ed surprised us with a new pairing ready to shake up Rain’s life and the Hart’s Bay they know.
I really liked the nuances between Colt and Rain and I really did feel they were perfect for each other. They could give and take, push and pull and be what each other needed. Of course, there’s the despicable meddling and nastiness from Grandpa Hart but thankfully Rain is able to break free from his awful parents and grandfather and make a new family with the resident gays and his cousin. It takes a lot and is a trying process for Rain to understand and accept these guys as his new, true, family but his journey and process to get there is beautifully written and so heartwarming you’ll fall in love with this collection of colorful characters too. I look forward to many more stories from Hart’s Bay as this group of beautiful souls find their happily ever afters too.
I loved it and can’t wait for more!!!

This book, my second by this author, follows Rain, a character the reader meets in a previous book set in the same small town. The author paints a picture of a community struggling to survive filled with a cast of characters that help the reader understand all the underlying nuances of small town life and the people who stay and those who arrive from away and decide to make a home there. E. Davies has created excellent characters who are complex and flawed. Add in humor, heat, an HEA and you have all the things in a book that leave you wanting to read the next one but can definitely hold its own as a stand-alone. Highly recommend 🙂
This was a good story. Although Colt kept secrets that he never should have, I loved the relationship between him and Rain. Both men had a lot to prove, and each found a great partner in the other. Rain’s grandfather was just as evil and cold in this book as he was in the first in the series, and I hope that we won’t see him again. Colt broke my heart with his memories of his time in foster care and the issues that time left him with. The other gay men who make up the tight-knit group of friends in Hart’s Bay are all wonderful, and I hope that each of them will end up with an HEA. This was really an enjoyable read.
Great addition to the series!
Changed Hart is the second book in the Hart’s Bay series by E. Davies. I loved Changed Hart just as much as the first book in the series, Hard Hart. Rain and Colt had great chemistry and it was fun watching Colt juggle trying to be the confident person he needed to be to work with Rain and keep his home life and job a secret. I also loved how Rain thought he was being so sneaky with his life and his hookups and keeping it hidden from his homophobic family but his grandfather was always one step ahead. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
If you thought book 1 was great well this one just blew book 1 out of the water. When we met Rain in book 1 we weren’t sure what to think of him…was he a villain or not. Well to find out is past, his present and all his secrets shows us that the Hart family isn’t all made of villains and that family secrets have a way of coming out.
I can’t wait to read more for this little town and I love how with each book it grows just a little more with each new couple
This second installment in the Hart’s Bay series is a real gem. The history once again leads to an interesting background, while the characters bring the story to life. They are well developed throughout the story, and the writing style is smoothly done.
Rain is from the “other side” of the Hart family feud. He has grown up with money and entitlement, but when he took a stand against Floyd, his grandfather, to defend his cousin Finn’s boyfriend and his friends’ livelihood, he found himself the owner of several dilapidated buildings, and without the means to take care of them with his new construction job’s wages.
Colt grew up in foster care after his parents died, being passed around from family to family; never truly accepted. He worked hard to get where he is today, and now he has come into his inheritance. His dream is to make his parents proud, and he has set his sights on becoming a property developer. He wants to turn one of the old warehouses down by the harbor into units that can be used for different purposes; but in truth, he wants to bring a modern structure into Hart’s Bay to bring in tourists and money.
He doesn’t make the best impression when he first meets Rain. He has decided to take on the air of a sophisticated businessman and property developer by dressing to impress, leasing a car he can’t afford, embellishing where he lives, and putting forth a cocky and somewhat condescending attitude. He offers to buy the building outright, but Rain knows he is going to need the income as well, so he insists on a partnership. They come to an agreement, and things escalate from there.
Colt is living a double life, and feeling more uncomfortable by the day. However, the intense chemistry between the two men is off the charts, and though Rain is firmly in the closet because of his family, he just knows that Colt could make his secret fantasies come to life. As they grow closer, Rain grows in confidence where his family is concerned, and makes some life altering decisions. Unfortunately, Floyd is up to his nasty old self, and tries to ruin everything good in Rain’s life.
However, after some serious soul searching and emotional turmoil, Colt and Rain come to terms with the storm Floyd has brought to their lives and to the town. They continue with their plans and their lives, and together they make their dreams become reality. In the end, despite the problems they faced, taciturn Rain and self conscious Colt find love and their happily ever after in Hart’s Bay.
Happy reading!

***Possible Spoilers***
I was curious about Rain after reading the first book in this series. I enjoyed getting to know him but was concerned that he didn’t know the facts about the feud that has almost destroyed the town. How could he not see that they were lying to him? His efforts to nourish and maintain a relationship with his parents and grandfather take a toll on him but he still tries to keep the peace with them. His disillusionment when he learns the truth about the feud and their true natures was painful to see.
After a few missteps, Colt fits in very well in Hart’s Bay. He is a hard worker and isn’t afraid to take a chance to make his vision for the future come alive.
These two have chemistry from the start. Colt and Rain don’t shy away from what they want and need in the bedroom either. There is light kink, nothing heavy, but it is spicy. And they heat things up nicely together.
They are both pretending to be something they aren’t though. Their youth and the stars in their eyes help to keep that from hurting their budding relationship.
Rain hit the jackpot on manipulative adults in his family. I find it hard to believe that he hadn’t already seen their true natures by this time. Either way, I think they need to be strung up by their short hairs, stripped off piece by piece and dipped in alcohol. Lying to and manipulating the children in the family is not in any way justifiable. And Rains’ grandfather needs to be put in a home or something. Mental ward?… I don’t know. I don’t like him, and he needs to go away.
I am satisfied with Rain and Colt’s HEA. They make a good couple, and I look forward to seeing more of them in future books.
I am enjoying the other secondary characters. I want to see more of the guys at the art gallery. They lend color and spice to the town.
I love this author and look forward to more books in this series.
This is the second book in the Hart’s Bay series, and the one I was hoping would be next. There was just something about Rain when we saw bits of him in the first book that you just knew something was up. He was just waiting for Colt to walk into the bar to let it be known. There was great chemistry between the 2 characters from the get go. This story had a little bit of everything. Suspense, romance & angst. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book for an honest opinion*
Hart’s Bay is the setting. This is a beautiful story about two men finding themselves. Colt is a commercial developer. Rain has just recently come to own some commercial property. Hart’s Bay works its magic again, oh and Lucy does her part too. When Colt and Rain meet they both get sparked. When they came together, it was 4th of July fireworks. This is a magnificently written story. This is book #2, but these can completely be read as standalones. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!!!
Rain and Colt were wonderful characters with so much emotional depth that you could really and truly empathise with them. After being manipulated and controlled in his previous relationship, Rain is struggling to find the trust he needs. Further, being a Hart not only burdens him with expectations, but creates a precarious situation in which he feels as though he cannot come ‘out’. Then we have Rain meeting Colt, a seemingly confident , charming and successful property developer. The two feel an immediate connection and find themselves entering into a development opportunity together as business partners. With Colt not quite as experienced as he is letting on, and not to mention, the inexplicable pull they feel towards each other, the partnership comes to be tested in a number of interesting ways…
Changed Hart is a fantastic read with a rather engaging storyline, great characters, a little bit of a slow-burn romance, and some off-the-charts chemistry! Highly recommend diving into the world that is Hart’s Bay!
*I received an advanced reader’s copy from the author in exchange for my honest review*
A pleasant read, with a perfect dose of hesitation, confidence, hurt and healing.
Both protagonists are used to putting up a false front to the world, for different reasons, and this leads to a few problems. The inner strength of both, shown in different ways, allows them both to be vulnerable to each other, healing and growing.
The slow development of the characters through gradual background description, counterpart to the very fast attraction they inevitably feel, creates a very deep slow burn during the narrative, tugging at the reader’s heartstrings while not overdoing the angst.
The intelligent, honest approach to everything, including each other, wins so many points, even when sometimes that honesty waits just a bit too long to come to the fore.
With cameo appearances of other Hart Bay characters, there seems to be a lot of a good things going, in this little ex-fishing town, and hopefully the series will continue for several more!
Sizzling connections, dreams, secrets and finding love create an awesome story. Finding your special someone when you least expect it can be daunting, however these guys find the will and love to create their happiness and future together. Story-line is well crafted and the words flow beautifully. I found the story touching and was routing for our MC”s to find their way to love and a forever.
Rain and Colt offer each other a connection that is unique and intense. They have wonderful chemistry and find so much more to build a relationship on for their future. This is a story of finding acceptance and that person that finds you a gift and so very special. This is about the true meaning of made family and appreciating the loyalty and trust that love can create.
Charged Hart is the second book in the Hart’s Bay series and can be read as a stand-alone. However i would recommend reading book one because it was so good. I am so looking forward to book three and Ezra’s story.
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
Oh Rain and Colt! From.the start loved the names, the connection. I am adoring Harts Bay, Eds new series and can not get enough of them. The little twists, turns and secrets and found family is often better than blood family, makes you stronger! Tbis book is brilliant!
Wow, this first book in a new series set in a small seaside town in Oregon is so great! It has all the E. Davies feels. It’s sweet and naughty, there’s friendship and family rivalry and fights and reconciliation, all in all, there’s true feeling!
Finn and Jesse are the two MCs starting off this series in the fictional town of Hart’s Bay, but there are the premises set for a lot more books, which I love!
Changed Hart is the second book in the Hart’s Bay series by E. Davies. Colt and Rain are great characters that drew me in right off. I loved their story. Sweet, sexy, funny…with a little drama but a lot of hart.
