My name is Jason Hart. As the best defensive lineman in the country, I eat, sleep and breathe football. And I like it that way. I’ve only got a few more years before I’ll have to retire, so expending energy on anything other than football seems like a waste of time. That is, until I have a random meeting with a little boy that just lost his father. We have more in common than you might think and … you might think and it creates an unlikely bond. As our friendship grows, so do my feelings for his mother.
I know Addison, as a recent widow, isn’t ready to date again. But I want to get to know her better, in spite of all her rejections.
Is it possible that I, a self-proclaimed bachelor, could be having a Change of Hart?

I love this book and the books that followed! I laughed, cried, and thoroughly enjoyed every part of this book. The characters are relatable and the banter in the book is fun and light. Highly recommend.
Enjoyed this author
Must read! Awesome book!
This is a sweet story of the relationship between a football player and young boy whose father passed away as well as the boy’s mother. Sensible view of how to handle both relationships.
Each book in the Hart Family series very good!
Pretty good with an interesting twist. Not stellar, but good enough.
Enjoyed the story so much, I couldn’t put it down.
Great book!
My thought with this book is you never know what love can do.
This was a great book. I just loved the story and how well it was told.
A wonderful love story about getting a shot at true love.
Good read! HEA.
THE FIRST BOOK WAS A JOY TO READ.
Great book!
A very romantic and delightful story. Jason is a catch. Loved the development and chemistry between the two characters. Great ending.
I fell in love with Jason, Addison, and Jaxson.
Unlike a lot of sports romances, the hero didn’t come across as an alpha-hole. He was funny, caring, and the interaction between him and Jaxson melted my heart. I loved watching him do his best to win over Addison without being pushy. It was a story I couldn’t put down!
This book sounded pretty cute from the description, and the fact that out of so many reviews, no one had rated it 1 star. I knew to expect a little manwhore tendencies, but the prospect of him bonding with Addison’s son and later with Addison had the opportunity to be adorable. Unfortunately I was quickly put off. I only made it to 16% before giving up.
I liked that he had a good female friend with a little bit of fun banter. My absolute favorite trope is friends-to-lovers, but it’s always nice to see a platonic friendship between sexes. Although he later said, “More than once I had kicked myself for letting her get snatched up by her hot shot accountant husband.” I also liked the way he interacted with Jaxon (the son).
What confused me (and other reviewers) was the fact that he was so much a part of the media. He was having to worry about publicity. I could be wrong but I don’t believe any football players get stalked like this.
Now onto the issues….
The author mentioned a certain family, let’s say the Smith family (as I can’t remember the actual name) and said something like, “the Smith’s will be there.”
At one point, his friend didn’t tell him one girl was interested in him because she was a whore, and he said that was exactly what he was interested in back then. That to me is absolutely disgusting and nothing of which to be proud.
My HUGE problem with this book is the very plot itself. Addison lost her husband and Jaxon’s father in a car accident 6 MONTHS prior. Jason is aware of this, but still ends up overstepping majorly.
“I made no effort to hide that I was checking out her backside. A man could get used to seeing that every day. She wasn’t model skinny. Nope. She was the size of a normal woman. With some hips and quite a bit of junk in that trunk…”
Respect the woman and yourself and keep focused on the fact that this woman is still grieving, and you’re doing this whole thing at the moment for her son’s benefit.
“I thought about that while we were taking the tour,” I said, shifting my feet. “But I swear I was getting this vibe that she was as interested in me as I was in her.”
Not to mention he keeps saying she doesn’t look like a skinny supermodel, she looks like a “real woman.” Last time I checked, even supermodels were still living breathing women, not robots. Some people are just naturally skinny and that’s nothing to shame.
Okay rant over… If you hung in this long, I applaud you.
It was a sweet story and I just skipped over the steamy parts. Thankfully, there weren’t many of them.
This book was nice, I really needed a story with a light sense of humor and love.. a page-turner and a fast read.. I really enjoy the characters and the story.. it is a story of two people trying to survive their past in other to move forward and discover what life will bring them in the future..
Jason is the hot guy that life keeps bringing good things until he finally meets someone who will blow him away and will want to know more about her and her little guy who will make you smile at all times..
Addison is moving on with her life, her past and her neighbors don’t let her move on that easily, she gets reminded at all times what she had before but she is determined to finally forget about the pain her past brought her and now she is a little cautious to move on but also ready to finally put everything behind.. she is smart, funny and beautiful with a heart of gold.
if you’re looking for something to make you feel happy and feel loved this book is great to enjoy and feel this way..
I really enjoyed Change of Hart. I loved every character in this book (besides the annoying reporter of course). Jason isn’t a player or bad boy. He meets Jaxon at a pep rally and feels a connection to him. Jaxon reminds him of himself. Jaxon is probably Jason’s biggest fan. He is such a cute little guy. Jason invited jaxon and his mom for a tour of the stadium. He feels attracted to Addison from the start and tries his luck (not in a sleazy way, he asks her on a date). However bcause of circumstances she is hesitant and shuts him down.
Jason can’t get her out of his mind and also continues spending time with little Jaxon. Addison can’t resist Jason for long! This was a sweet contemporary romance. Sometimes I am just in the mood for something light and this was the perfect fit. The writing was great! I will definitely check out ME Carter’s other books.
