My name is Jason Hart. As the best defensive lineman in the country, I eat, sleep and breathe football. And I like it that way. I’ve only got a few more years before I’ll have to retire, so expending energy on anything other than football seems like a waste of time. That is, until I have a random meeting with a little boy that just lost his father. We have more in common than you might think and … you might think and it creates an unlikely bond. As our friendship grows, so do my feelings for his mother.
I know Addison, as a recent widow, isn’t ready to date again. But I want to get to know her better, in spite of all her rejections.
Is it possible that I, a self-proclaimed bachelor, could be having a Change of Hart?

Character development:
The heroine: Addison Bryant – a widow of six months with a small child. She works in an office doing social work. She is reluctant to trust men after having a bad experience with her husband.
The Hero(es): Jason Hart – NFL defensive lineman who is determined not to get serious with a woman while focusing on his football career. Jason is taken in a little boy, Jaxon Bryant after attending a pep rally at the elementary school his friend Lindsay works at.
The story: Jason can’t get the little boy he met off his mind, especially after finding out that he lost his father not long ago. He contacts Lindsay and gets in touch with Addison to invite Jaxson to a tour of the stadium. When Addison and Jaxson show up at the stadium, Jason is bowled over by Addison.
This book was told in Jason’s POV which I just loved. The narrator, Jacob Morgan was perfect for Jason and has a great voice. I have listened to him a few other times and just love him as a narrator. I usually don’t like singe person POV, but I guess I feel differently when it is the Hero. He did awesome voice inflections for Jason’s best friend Deuce and also for Jaxson.
I especially liked Jason’s relationship with Jaxson. Jaxson was a football super fan and was such a delight I can see how Jason fell for him so fast and wanted to be a friend/mentor to the boy. Jason was also really sweet in how he was so accommodating towards Addison, especially with her being so wary of a relationship since she was a widow with a child. The book was a great sports romance.
Jason Hart definitely steals my heart in this amazing book, Jaxon too of course. This book makes me want to watch and learn more of football . Addison have a wonderful heart that makes a Change of Hart possible
At the request of a childhood friend Jason, all star defensive lineman, attends a pep rally where he meets five year old Jaxon. Jaxon feels that Jason is there for his birthday so in his excitement Jaxon word vomits all kinds of family stuff. Which only endears Jason to him. They bond over similar family issues. When Jason vows to be a positive influence in Jaxon’s life he wasn’t prepared to fall head over helmet for Jaxon’s mom, Addison.
I am not sure what I was expecting when I picked this one or what made me wait forever to read it after buying it but I feel like I got more than what I was expecting and was very pleasantly surprised. I loved that this was all from Jason’s POV. I love how all in Jason was from the beginning. I love how he respected Addison’s hesitation. I love how he wouldn’t let her hide. I love how he fell in love with Jaxon first. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. This one really hit all of my buttons and gave me all of the feels.
I have discovered I really like to read and listen to a book at the same time, and that’s what I did with this one. It states there are two narrators, but the hero tells us the whole story and only the epilogue is with the heroine. Jacob Morgan does a great job bringing Jason Hart to life.
This was a super quick read, about a footballer meeting the cutest kid and falling for his mother. She wasn’t in the limelight at all, and they have some trials and tribulations with the paparazzi and issues her previous relationship. It wasn’t too angsty or over dramatic and there wasn’t anything to throw you for a loop. It is a sweet romance about loyalty and commitment.
This was a HART twister for sure. A boy who lost his dad and the means to be able to watch his dad and his favorite sport, football. So, on his birthday when his wish is granted you can’t tell him different even if it makes Dallas linebacker Jason Hart uncomfortable. When he can’t get the boy off his mind he asks his the boys principal to have his mom give him a call to set up a tour of the stadium & gifts. His friend she knows this boy shook him up. When he meets his mom his HART sees stars. Really enjoyed this book all except for the very end seemed rushed. Otherwise, worth the read.
CHANGE OF HART is the first book in the “Hart Series” and I listened to it courtesy of Audible Escape.
Narration: 5 stars
Story: 5 stars
This was a great start to the series. As someone who came into an established parent/child relationship, the way these characters develop is spot on.
This is a story that has emotions, a sense of humor, a cute kid and of course romance.
I will absolutely be reading/listening to the rest in this series. I absolutely recommend this book.
You need to read the series!
Jason Hart was all about football and being the best player he can be but when he met Jaxon Bryant at a school. He felt a connection but when he finally met Jaxon’s mother Addison, he realized that football wasn’t everything and he slowly fell in love.
Change of Hart is one of the stories that I will re-read many times because it really shows how a boy can be the connection between two people and they fall in love.
P.S. The entire series is worth a re-read.
Jason Hart is the best defensive player in the NFL. Content with his life or so he thinks until he meets a little boy who he feels a special pull to because the both lost their fathers at a young age. Then Jason meets Jaxon’s mom Addison and things get more interesting. Addison is afraid to love Jason, afraid he will decide to leave and break Jaxon’s heart yet again.
The book was ok.
A unique plot and very enjoyable
A warm hearted read.
I’m not a football fan, but I really really enjoyed this story. Jaxson is a wonderful character, so is Deuce.
Loved this book!!!
I read the book in a day. I enjoyed the happily ever after, but found the part with Sarah very predictable from early on.
Great Story!
Quick and easy read with enjoyable characters. Look forward to reading second book in series.
